What is Canon? Penitential Canon before the sacrament. Canon of repentance to the lord jesus christ

Orthodoxy is a joyful faith. It does not prescribe feigned grief, serious facial expressions, or the like. On the contrary, it is believed that even repentance should be joyful.

What is repentance and how to accomplish it is often completely incomprehensible to a modern person. Unfortunately, a superficial attitude to the world and to the state of one's soul is now cultivated; introspection is not recommended, but is considered destructive.

When repenting, the Orthodox often use the canon of repentance to the Lord Jesus Christ. The main purpose of reading this canon is to remind oneself of the true meaning of earthly values, to realize the transience of the world and time.

Canon is an ecclesiastical form of prayer. Many people believe that the main thing in prayer is the content, and the form is superfluous. This is partly correct. Indeed, if the canon of repentance to the Lord Jesus Christ or any other prayer is read inattentively, a person will not receive any benefit. Prayer is not a spell, it does not act outside the will of a person, its main goal is to facilitate communication with an incomprehensible God for a person.

You can draw an analogy with a declaration of love. In recognition, the main thing is content. But if a young man does not know what expressions to choose and how to start, he risks scaring the girl with strange words. Verse lines close to him will be very helpful. So it is in prayer: content is more important than form, the latter is only help. But will everyone be able to express their thoughts about sin and their soul as fully as the holy fathers? The penitential canon to the Lord Jesus Christ allows you to put into words the vague movements of the heart, to think over your life to the smallest detail, to find in yourself the vices that I did not notice before.

Each church form of prayer - and there are several more - is built according to certain rules. For example, any canon, including a canon of repentance to the Lord Jesus Christ, consists of eight songs. Moreover, there are nine songs by numbering, but the second is always skipped. Each song consists of a song itself and of several verses, which are interspersed with a refrain established for this canon. In the canon of repentance, it is necessary to repeat: "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner."

Repentance should possess a person almost constantly, but especially on this topic it is necessary to work on it before confession.

The daily canon of repentance to our Lord Jesus Christ is an excellent practice. In this case, the canon is read at discretion, once before the sacrament it is obligatory.

The canon of repentance to the Lord Jesus Christ was written many centuries ago, but now it is still relevant. A thoughtful reading of the entire canon takes about 20 minutes. The canon itself is published in both Russian and Church Slavonic. You can read this way and that, the result does not depend on it.

Prayer work is one of the most difficult. It seems that pronouncing some words aloud or silently cannot satisfy desires, that this is just self-hypnosis, a useless waste of time. However, even if this is so, the thoughts that are set out in the canon will be very useful to any thoughtful person.

Orthodox canons are read at any time of the day, alone or aloud, with a group of worshipers.

The Orthodox divine service is based on the transubstantiation of the Holy Gifts, as well as the communion by Christians of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which are the source of eternal life. An Orthodox Christian who wishes to receive the Holy Communion must adequately prepare for this sacrament. In the Holy Scriptures, in the Epistle to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul warns Christians against unworthy acceptance of the Blood and Body of Christ, and the consequences can be many diseases and even death. (First Epistle to Corinthians 11: 29,30).

In order to prepare for Holy Communion, certain requirements must be fulfilled. The prayer rule for preparation includes the "Penitential Canon to the Lord Jesus Christ." Together with the canon of prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos, as well as the canon to the Guardian Angel, they constitute a three-canon. To simplify the rule, the three creations were combined into one.

The history of the formation of the rule.

Over the centuries, the rule for Holy Communion has gradually changed. In the 5th-6th centuries, the canons were read during divine services. Obviously, over time, the volume of succession increased and began to take a long time. For this reason, the prayer rule for Holy Communion in the 11th century is no longer read at divine services. A Christian, preparing to partake of the Holy Mysteries of Christ, must secretly (at home) read all prayers, including the canon of repentance to our Lord Jesus Christ.

The structure of the canon.

The very word "canon" means an established rule. The Canon is a hymnographic poetic composition dedicated to the Lord God, the Most Holy Theotokos, angels and saints or events that happened to them, in honor of which Christian holidays were formed.

The Canon consists of:
 Irmosov;
 chants;
 troparia;
 sedal;
 kontakion;
 icosa;
 prayers.

The canon is divided into nine songs (in fact there are eight of them, since the second is skipped). Each song begins with irmos.

Irmos is the name of the first of the troparia of each song in the canon, which performs the connecting functions of the chant.

Then a certain number of troparia follow. Soloes are read before everyone, they are short title prayer petitions or glorification of the Lord. The penitential canon reads the melody: "Have mercy on me, God, have mercy on me." The concluding troparion of each of the songs is dedicated to the Most Holy Theotokos. Before the penultimate troparion, the chant "Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" is read, and before the last - "both now and ever and forever and ever."

The troparion in the canon is a small piece of poetry following the irmos. In the troparion, the Lord or the saint is glorified, or the events of the holiday are narrated.

After the third canto, a sedal is read.

Sedalen means that while reading it, it is allowed to sit in order to gain a deeper understanding of the reading.

At the end of the sixth canto, the reading of the kontakion and ikos follows.

Kontakion is translated from Greek as "house" and is a small chant dedicated to the Lord, the Mother of God, angels or saints.

Ikos from Greek means "house". This chant is like a kontakion in meaning and structure. The difference is that if the kontakion describes an event, then the ikos reveals it more widely, and its volume is larger.

At the end of the ninth canto, a prayer of repentance is recited.

Summary of prayers:
In the first song, a person laments his sins, realizing himself unworthy of God's mercy, asks to give him more tears so that he can mourn his atrocities, but at the same time he dares to turn to God. Also, a person encourages himself not to waste time in laziness and calls on the parting words of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The third song recalls the Last Judgment and hellish torments. This invites the soul to repentance before the hour of death, in order to avoid torment.
Sedalen is filled with reflections on how difficult it will be to stand before the throne of God, with what state of mind.
The fourth canto praises the Lord and the Church. Life's joys and pleasures are described, but it is warned that a person should beware of these pleasures if he wants to gain the Kingdom of Heaven. There is a call not to collect and not get hung up on the accumulation of worldly goods, because everything will turn to dust.
In the fifth canto, Divine grace is invoked. A person realizes that he is constantly sinning with all his organs and asks himself if this is what he wanted?
In the sixth canto, a petition is heard to tear the soul out of its sinful state, so that the atrocities would cease, the soul arose, remembering its deeds, and bowed to the Creator with contrition.
In the kontakion, he asks his own soul why it does what the devil wants and is encouraged to turn to God.
Ikos calls for repentance before the soul enters hell.
In the seventh song, there is a vocation for a person so that he does not hope for earthly riches, for health of the body, strength and beauty. A person does not know to whom his condition will remain after death, and he will not take it with him. Strength, health and beauty fade over time.
In the eighth canto, it is indicated that the heart is fossilized, without the fear of God. It also indicates that everyone is equal before the Judgment of God, neither title, nor rank, nor age matters.
In the ninth song, the call of the Most Holy Theotokos, angels and all God's saints is heard to pray for the salvation of the soul.
The canon ends with a prayer to the Lord Jesus Christ.
In prayer, a person realizes his sinful deeds, therefore he asks the Lord to forgive and heal him with his wounds. Despite the fact that man has turned away from God, he asks the Lord not to turn away from him, to help him rise from the sinful abyss so that he can bring worthy repentance to the Creator. Man seeks to turn away from evil and become the heir of God's Kingdom.

Preparation for Confession and Communion.

The canon of repentance to Jesus Christ attunes the state of mind to the wave of repentance. So that a person can comprehend his actions, he can settle down and find salvation.
Coming to Holy Communion, you need to adequately prepare and cleanse your soul from sins. This is done through repentance. The canon shows the state with which one should approach confession. It is important that this was not just reading the text, but true spiritual repentance.

Every Orthodox Christian knows that the only way to save his soul from eternal death in hell is not only the eradication of sin within oneself, but also frequent communication with God through prayer and Communion. Both the eradication of sin and the opportunity to worthily begin the sacrament of the Sacrament is possible through repentance. In this, the main help for the believer is the canon of repentance to the Lord. In the prayer book, it is published separately, and is also included in the preparatory rule for Communion (acceptance of the Body and Blood of Christ).

In Holy Scripture, his Epistle to the Corinthians, the holy Apostle Paul warns Christians from inappropriate acceptance of the Body and Blood of Christ, since the consequences can be very unpleasant: many diseases and even the death of a person (1 Epistle to the Corinthians of St. Paul, 11: 29,30).

To prepare yourself for Holy Communion, you must follow certain rules. The number of prayers in order to tune in correctly also includes the canon of repentance. Together with the rules of prayer (canons) to the Most Holy Theotokos and the Holy Guardian Angel, they form a three-canon. To facilitate this rule, these three spiritual works were combined into a single one.

Rule history

For centuries the rule of preparation for the Sacrament gradually changed depending on the living conditions of Christians. In the 5-6 centuries, these canons were read during the service. Undoubtedly, over time, the volume of following (canon) increased and began to take too much time, which was beyond the power of believers. On this basis, the prayer preparation for Holy Communion from the 11th century is no longer read during divine services. A Christian, preparing himself for the proper communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ, must read all prayers at home (in private), and with heartfelt attention, sincerely. This also applies to the canon of repentance to the Lord Christ Jesus.

The sequence of reading the canon

The word "canon" in translation into Russian means a generally accepted rule that has a clear structure, according to which it can be built. The Canon is essentially a spiritual hymnographic composition of a poetic nature, which is dedicated either to the All-Holy Trinity, or to one of the hypostasis of God, the Most Holy Lady Theotokos, Angels, holy people, as well as to any significant events, in honor of which the existing ones were formed today. Christian celebrations and celebrations.

Canon includes:

  • irmos;
  • solos;
  • tropari;
  • sedal;
  • kontakion;
  • icos;
  • prayers.

Canon is subdivided into just nine songs(however, in fact there are usually eight of them, since the second is skipped). Each song is preceded by an irmos.

The second song, which is overlooked in the usual modern canons, is sung during Great Lent and is usually associated with events in the life of the Lord and the Church that took place on the eve of the Savior's suffering.

Irmos - this is the first pre-set text that does not change. Irmos can be of a certain voice (voice), there are eight of them in total. Therefore, it is usually signed "irmos, voice such and such." Since the canon is, as mentioned, a hymnographic work, singing inserts are included in it. The voice mark is important mainly for the church choir, which knows the tunes of everyone.

Prayer has the following structure:

Let's see what exactly the canon is, what is said in each of its parts. This is an ancient text and you need to be careful when reading it.

What the songs and sedalene talk about

Canon's first song contains a testimony of repentance for the deed. This allows the reader to tune in to a repentant mood, to realize himself not as a pompous master of this life, full of pride and lack of love for his neighbor, but unworthy of God's mercy. Forgiveness is indicated in the troparions, so that the Lord would give the person praying penitent feelings and tears for sins, so that one could mourn his atrocities. At the same time, the repentant dares to aspire to God in his spiritual trouble. Also, this part of the canon calls not to spend time aimlessly in laziness, and also asks the Most Holy Theotokos for help.

Second song, as mentioned, is omitted, since it is included only in liturgical texts and only in the canons of special events.

In the third contains memories of the Last Judgment and hellish torments, the soul is called to repentance before the hour of death, in order to avoid eternal torment.

Sedalen concludes with reflections on how difficult it will be to stand before the throne of God with such a restless heart.

Praising the Creator

In the fourth song the Creator and the Holy Church gathered by him are praised. It speaks of worldly joys and pleasures, but the authors of the canon warn that a person should protect himself from these pleasures if he seeks to qualify for the Kingdom of Heaven. The call is heard not to accumulate worldly goods and not to get hung up on their accumulation, because they are all finite and will turn to dust. But the glory of God and His kingdom will never end.

In the fifth song the grace of God is invoked. A person realizes that with each of his senses and each member he constantly sins and asks his soul if this is what it wanted?

In the sixth contains a petition to tear your soul out of a sinful situation, so that evil deeds would cease, the soul would revive, remembering its deeds, and bowed down before the Creator with contrition in anticipation of transformation and sanctification.

In the kontakion the soul of the one praying is called to account, for which it does what the devil longs for, and is called to turn to God.

Ikos adjusts to repentance before the soul is sent to hell.

An appeal to the soul and all the saints

In the seventh there is a call for a person, so that he does not count on earthly riches, on the health of the body, beauty and strength. No one can know for sure who he is actually collecting his wealth, because the hour of death may come tomorrow. And it will not go to the one who spent his whole life on accumulating it. And these labors will not help the one who prays at the Judgment very much, because man did not grow rich in God, but in vanity. In addition, health, strength and beauty leave the human body over time.

In the eighth describes the fossilization of the heart, which does not allow a person to repent, to experience the necessary feelings. It also mentions the fact that every person is equal before the Judgment of the Creator, and before Him there is no weight count, no rank, no title, no age - nothing, only deeds, thoughts and deeds.

In the ninth song the one who prays calls for the help of the Most Holy Theotokos, all the saints of God and His angels, so that they pray for the salvation of his soul.

The canon ends with a prayer appeal to the Lord Christ Jesus.

In prayer, a person realizes his sinful actions, therefore, asks the Lord for forgiveness and healing for his wounds. Despite the fact that a person once abandoned God, he asks the Heavenly Father not to do the same, but, on the contrary, to enter his life and help, save him from the abyss of sin, so that he can bring the Creator worthy fruit of repentance. Man longs to disown evil and become the heir of the Father's Kingdom.

Preparation for the Sacraments

Most often, the canon of repentance to the Lord deducted before the Sacraments, tunes the inner world to a wave of remorse. So that the sinner was able to comprehend his actions, settle down and receive the salvation of his soul for eternal life with God in His Kingdom. In the rule of preparation for Communion, the canon of repentance is combined with three other canons: with a prayer service to the Most Holy Theotokos and the Guardian Angel. Only some of its parts are included.

Approaching Holy Communion, one must prepare in a worthy manner and free one's soul from sins. This is achieved through repentance. The penitential canon before confession helps to understand with what state it is appropriate to approach the Sacrament and makes it possible to correctly adjust oneself already at home. It is important that the appeal to the penitential canon does not turn into mechanical proofreading, but is a true spiritual repentance.

We talked about this prayer of repentance to the Lord God, from the point of view of preparation for the Sacrament of Repentance (confession). But these are far from all the possibilities of this small prayer. In modern spiritual practice, priests often use the advice to read this rule when a person is in various difficult conditions:

  • in case of serious trouble;
  • in diseases;
  • in sorrows and sorrows;
  • in the absence of children;
  • with difficulties in personal and family life.

Most often, this rule is suggested to be read in case of health problems. Considering that all troubles and troubles happen to us due to our own sins, even seemingly unreasonable malice on the part of those around us, then bringing God's favor to repentance inclines the Lord to mercy.

In the practice of one fairly well-known modern priest, there are many real cases when the reading of the Penitential Canon for even six months turned the life of the person praying and his loved ones in the most favorable direction. Let us touch on the most indicative of them.

The case was as follows... A woman who was dying of cancer was brought to the priest for guidance and advice on how to live further. She was led by the arms into the holy temple of the Lord and brought to the priest. She told him that she was dying and that none of the doctors could help her. During the conversation, it turned out that at one time this woman had performed a lot of abortions in her youth, and this was not realized by her as a mortal sin of murder, moreover, of her own children. Father outlined to her the scale of what she had done and called everything by its proper name.

The woman asked what she should do, because the killed could not be returned. The priest blessed her every day to read the Penitential Canon for her deeds, to try to set her soul to sincere repentance and change, more often to invite a priest for confession and communion, if she herself is not able to come to church. This ended the conversation.

A year later, according to the priest's story, a fresh-looking middle-aged but pretty smiling woman in a hat entered the temple where the fateful conversation took place by the time of the service. She was looking for someone in the crowd. When she saw the priest, she joyfully approached him, took the blessing and began to thank. He did not immediately recognize in her the woman who, a year ago, who was dying, was brought under the arms for, most likely, the last conversation.

It turned out that after arriving home, where the doctors discharged her to die, she began to fulfill the blessing exactly: read the canon every day, tried to evoke repentance in herself, diligently confessed and received communion. Six months later, she stopped needing support from her relatives, began to go to church on her own, her appetite improved, and the cancer receded. During this year, both of her daughters met their love, straightened things out, and so many favorable events happened in their lives that had never happened during their entire lives. The Lord gladly accepted the repentant and hastened to bestow both her and her loved ones with His rich mercies.

Repentance is called the second Baptism. And Baptism, as you know, washes away all sins from a person. If we are honest with ourselves and the Creator, then sincere reading of the canon of repentance will cleanse the human soul from dirt and give it freedom to live in love, goodness and for the eternal Kingdom of God.

Song 1

Like Israel, walking along the abyss like dry land with her feet, seeing the persecutor of Pharaoh being drowned, we sing and proclaim a victory song to God.
Chorus:
Now I, sinful and burdened, come to You, Master and my God! I dare not look to heaven, but I only ask, saying: give me reason, Lord, so that I bitterly mourn my deeds!
Chorus: Have mercy on me, God, have mercy on me!

Oh, woe to me, a sinner! I am more unhappy than all people, I have no repentance! Oh, give me tears, Lord, so that I mourn bitterly for my deeds!

Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit!
Oh, unreasonable, unhappy man! You are ruining time in laziness! Imagine your life and turn to the Lord God and cry bitterly about your deeds!

And now, and always, and forever! Amen.
Most Pure Mother of God! Turn your gaze on me, a sinner, and deliver me from the devil's net. and put me on the path of repentance, so that I mourn bitterly for my deeds!

Song 3

In holiness there is no one like Thee, O Lord my God, who lifted up the horn of Thy faithful, O Good One, and established us on the stone of Thy confession.
When the thrones of the Last Judgment are installed, then the deeds of all people will be revealed! There will be sorrow for the sinner, sent into torment! And knowing this, my soul, turn from your evil deeds!
The righteous will rejoice, but the sinners will cry! Then no one will be able to help us, but our very deeds will condemn us! Therefore, before the end, turn from your evil deeds!
Glory: Alas for me, many sinful ones, defiled by deeds and thoughts: from hard-heartedness I do not have a drop of tears! Now rise up from the earth, my soul, and turn from your evil deeds!
And now: Oh Mistress! Thy Son calls to you and teaches us good things, but I, a sinner, always shy away from good! But you, merciful, have mercy on me, and turn from my evil deeds!

Sedalen, voice 6th

I reflect on a terrible day and mourn my evil deeds. How then will I answer the immortal King, or with what boldness will I, the prodigal, look at the Judge? Merciful Father, Only Begotten Son and Holy Spirit, have mercy on me!
Glory, and now: Mother of God:
Now, being bound by many chains of sins and surrounded by many sufferings and troubles, I resort to You, my salvation and cry: Help me Virgin Mother of God!

Song 4

Christ is my strength, my God and Lord! This is how the worthy Church sings splendidly, crying out from the pure sense and rejoicing in the Lord.
Here the path is wide and convenient for enjoyment, but how bitter it will be on the last day, when the soul is parted from the body! Oh, man, keep yourself from them, for the sake of the Kingdom of God!
Why do you offend the poor, take the wages of the worker, do not love your brother, show fornication and pride? So, my soul, leave this and correct for the sake of the Kingdom of God!
Slava: Oh, unreasonable person! How long will you drown, collecting your wealth like a bee? Soon it will perish, becoming dust and ashes, and you seek more of the Kingdom of God!
And now: Madame Mother of God! Have mercy on me, a sinner, and strengthen and preserve me in virtue, so that insolent death does not kidnap me unprepared, and bring me, Virgin, to the Kingdom of God!

Song 5

Oh, Good One, illuminate your souls with Your God’s light in the morning those who are coming to You with love, so that You, the Word of God, may be known as the true God! So I pray, crying out of sinful darkness.
Remember, unfortunate person, how enslaved you are by your sins to lies, slander, robbery, weakness, fierce beasts! My sinful soul, did you want that?
My members tremble, for I have been guilty of all of them: looking with my eyes, listening with my ears, speaking evil with my tongue, giving myself over to Gehenna! My sinful soul, is this what you wanted?
Glory: Oh, Savior, you accepted the already repentant fornicator and robber, but I am still burdened with sinful laziness and evil deeds enslaved! My sinful soul, is this what you wanted?
And now: Mother of God, a wonderful and fast helper to all people! Help me, unworthy, for my sinful soul has already wanted it!

Song 6

Seeing the sea of life as an indignant storm of temptations, I ran to Your quiet haven, crying out to You: O Many-Merciful, build my life from decay!
I lived life on earth fornication, and gave my soul into darkness, but now, merciful Master, I implore You: free me from this enslavement of the enemy and give me reason to do Your will!
Who does something like me? For as a pig lies in the mud, so I also serve sin. But Thou, Lord, tear me out of this vileness and give me such a heart to fulfill Thy commandments!
Glory: Unhappy man! Remember your sins, rise to God, falling to the Creator, shedding tears and groaning! He is merciful, he will give you reason to know His will!
And now: Virgin Mary! Save me, Most Pure One, from visible and invisible evil and take my petitions and convey them to Thy Son, so that He may give me understanding to do His will!

Kondak

My soul! Why do you grow rich in sins, Why do you fulfill the devil's will, in what do you put hope? Stop and turn to God with a cry, crying out: merciful Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner!

Ikos

Imagine, my soul, the bitter hour of death and the terrible judgment of your Creator and God, when you, soul, will be caught by formidable forces and led into eternal fire! Therefore, before death, correct yourself, crying out: Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner!

Canto 7

An angel watered the stove for the holy youths, but he scorched the Chaldeans with the command of God, forcing the tormentor to cry: Blessed be the God of our fathers!
Do not rely, my soul, on bodily wealth and on the gathering of earthly goods, because you do not know to whom you will leave all this, but rather call out: Christ God, have mercy on me unworthy!
Do not trust, my soul, in bodily health and in passing beauty, because you see that both the strong and the young are dying, but rather call out: Christ God, have mercy on me, an unworthy one!
Glory: Remember, my soul, eternal life and the Kingdom of Heaven, prepared for the saints, and external darkness and the wrath of God for the evil, and call: Christ God, have mercy on me unworthy!
And now: Fall, my soul, to the Mother of God, and ask her, and She, the ambulance for those who turn, will beg the Son, Christ God, and He will have mercy on me, unworthy!

Canto 8

To the saints, pouring moisture out of the fire, and pouring water on the sacrifice of the righteous. You, Christ, do whatever you want! We exalt you at all times.
How can I not cry when I imagine death, For I saw my brother lying in the grave, inglorious and ugly? What do I expect and what do I hope for? Lord, give me only repentance before the end! (Twice).
Glory: I believe that you will come to judge the living and the dead! Then everyone will stand in their rank: old and young, lords and princes, virgins and priests, but where will I end up? Therefore, I cry: Lord, give me repentance before the end!
And now: the Most Pure Mother of God! Accept my unworthy petition, and save me from impudent death, and give me repentance before the end!

Canto 9

It is impossible for people to see God, whom even the angelic ranks dare not look at! Through You, All-Pure One, the incarnate Word appeared to people, magnifying which, we with heavenly powers please you.
Now I appeal to you, angels, archangels and all the heavenly powers that stand at the throne of God! Ask your Creator to deliver my soul from eternal torment!
Now I cry in front of you, holy forefathers, kings and prophets, apostles and saints and all the elect of Christ! Help me at the trial so that He would save my soul from the power of the enemy!
Glory: Now I lift up my hands to you, holy martyrs, desert dwellers, virgins, righteous and all saints, asking the Lord for the whole world, so that He may have mercy on me at the hour of my death.
And now: Mother of God! Help me, who strongly hopes in You, beg His Son, so that when He sits down to judge the living and the dead, He will set me unworthy at His right hand! Amen.

Prayer

Lord Christ God, healed my passions with His sufferings and healed my ulcers with His ulcers! Grant me, who have sinned much before You, tears of tenderness. Let my body receive the fragrance of Thy life-giving Body and enjoy my soul with Thy precious Blood instead of the bitterness that the enemy has given me to drink. Ascend to Yourself my drooping mind and raise it out of the perilous abyss. There is no repentance, no tenderness, no comforting tears in me that lead children to their inheritance! Having darkened my mind in everyday passions, in illness I cannot look at You, I cannot even warm myself with tears of love for You! But, Vladyka Lord Jesus Christ, the treasury is good! Grant me a complete correction of life and, in search of You, a loving heart, grant me Your grace and renew Your Image in me! I left You, don't leave me, go out to look for me, bring me to Your pasture and join me to the sheep of Your chosen flock, with them feed me with the bread of Your Divine Sacraments, the prayers of Your most pure Mother and all Your saints. Amen.

But, Lord Jesus Christ, the treasure of the good, grant me complete repentance and a heart of love for Thy seeking, grant me Thy grace and renew the eyes of Thy image in me. Leave Thee, do not leave me; go out to seek mine, lead to Thy pasture and bring me to the sheep of Thy chosen flock, educate me with them from the cereal of Thy Divine Sacraments, through the prayers of Thy Most Pure Mother and all Thy saints. Troparion to the Mother of God, voice 4:
To the Mother of God we are diligently now as a dear, sinful and humble, and we will fall, in repentance calling from the depths of our soul: Lady, help, having mercy on us, sweep, we are perishing from a multitude of sins, do not turn your slaves away, You are the same hope of the imams (twice) ...
Glory, and now: We will never keep silent, Mother of God, Your power to speak unworthy: if you wouldn’t have to pray, who would have saved us from a bit of trouble, who would have kept us free to this day? We will not retreat, Lady, from You: save Your servants from all fierce ones.

Psalm 50:
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy, and according to the multitude of Thy compassions, cleanse my iniquity. Wash me most of all from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin; for I know my iniquity, and my sin is before me I will take out. To Thee, who alone have sinned, and have done good before Thee; as if you were justified in your words, and conquer from time to time to judge Ti. Behold, in transgressions I am conceived, and in sins bore me my mother. Behold, you loved the truth; You have revealed your unknown and secret wisdom. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; wash me, and I will be white as snow. Give joy and joy to my hearing; the bones of the humble will be reborn. Turn away Thy face from my sins, and cleanse all my iniquity. Build a pure heart in me, O God, and renew the spirit of rights in my womb. Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me. Reward with me the joy of Thy salvation and, with the Spirit of the Lord, confirm me. I will teach the wicked in Thy way, and the wicked will turn to Thee. Deliver me from the blood, O God, God of my salvation; my tongue will rejoice in Thy righteousness. O Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth shall declare Thy praise. As if you would have wanted sacrifices, you would have given them: do not favor burnt offerings. The sacrifice to God the spirit is broken; a contrite and humble heart God will not despise. Bless, O Lord, with Thy good pleasure Zion, and may the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then favor the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; then they will put calves on your altar.

Then favor the sacrifice of righteousness, the offering and the burnt offering; then they will lay calves on your altar.

Canon Tone 2, Canto 1:
Irmos: Come people, let us sing a song to Christ God, who divided the sea, and who instructed the people, even from the Egyptian work, as if glorified.

The bread of the everlasting belly may be Thy Holy Body, more blessed O Lord, and Honest Blood, and the disease of manifold healing.

Desecrated by the deeds of the wretched cursed one, Thy Most Pure Body and Divine Blood I am not worthy, Christ, of communion, grant him to me.
Holy Mother of God, save us.
Good earth, blessed God-blessing, a class that has vegetated, an unrepentant and saving world, grant me this poisonous one to be saved.

Song 3

Irmos: Having established me on the stone of faith, you opened my mouth against my enemies. Rejoice my fear, my spirit, always petit: it is not holy, as our God, and it is not righteous more to You, Lord.
Build a pure heart in me, O God, and renew the spirit of rights in my womb.
With my tears, give me drops, Christ, the filth of my cleansing heart: as if I have cleansed my conscience, I come by faith and fear, Master, to the communion of Your Divine Gifts.
Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Let Thy Most Pure Body and Divine Blood, Holy Spirit communion, and into eternal life, Humanity, and alienation of passions and sorrows be forgiveness of sins.
Holy Mother of God, save us.
Animal Bread Most Holy Trapeza, from above for mercy for the sake of what came down, and the world-giving belly, and now grant me the unworthy, with the fear of partaking of this, and I live to be.

Song 4

Irmos: Thou art come from the Virgin, do not intercessor, not an Angel, but Himself, Lord, incarnate, and save me all man. To those I call Ti: glory to Thy strength, O Lord.
Build a pure heart in me, O God, and renew the spirit of rights in my womb.
Thou wished, to incarnate for our sake, Most Merciful, slain to be like a sheep, sin for the sake of men: the same I pray to Thee, and cleanse my sins.
Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Heal my souls ulcers, O Lord, and sanctify everything: and grant, O Lord, as if I will partake of Thy secret Divine Supper, accursed one.
Holy Mother of God, save us.
Make mercy to me from Thy womb, Lady, and keep me from Thy servant and blameless, like the reception of clever beads, I will be sanctified.

Song 5

Irmos: the Giver of Light and the Creator of the ages, Lord, in the light of Your commands instruct us; don't we know another god for you.
Build a pure heart in me, O God, and renew the spirit of rights in my womb.
As Thou didst predict, Christ, that Thy wicked servant should be, and abide in me, as Thou didst promise: Behold, Thy Body is Divine, and I drink Thy Blood.
Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
To the Word of God and God, the coal of Thy Body, let Thy blood be darkened to me for enlightenment, and the cleansing of my defiled soul.
Holy Mother of God, save us.
Mary, Mother of God, fragrant honest village, with your prayers make me a vessel chosen, as if I will partake of the consecration of your Son.

Song 6

Irmos: Wallowing in the abyss of sinfulness, I call upon the abyss unseen by Thy mercy: from aphids, God, erect me.
Build a pure heart in me, O God, and renew the spirit of rights in my womb.
Sanctify the mind, soul and heart, Savior, and my body, and vouchsafe, without condemnation, Vladyka, to approach the terrible Mysteries.
Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
So that he would be removed from the passions, and Your grace would have an application, the belly would be affirmed by the communion of the Saints, Christ, Your Mysteries.
Holy Mother of God, save us.
God, God, the Holy Word, sanctify me all, now coming to Thy Divine Mysteries, Thy Holy Mother with prayers.
Kontakion, voice 2:
Bread, Christ, take, do not despise me, Thy Body, and Thy Divine Blood now, most pure, Lord, and Thy terrible Mysteries, partake of the accursed communion, may it not be in judgment, may it be in the eternal and immortal belly.

Canto 7

Irmos: The wise children did not serve the golden body, and they themselves went into the flame, and their gods swore in the midst of the flame, and I spray the Angel: I heard your prayer already.
Build a pure heart in me, O God, and renew the spirit of rights in my womb.
The source of the good, communion, Christ, Your now immortal Sacraments, may there be light, and belly, and dispassion, and to the perfection and multiplication of the virtue of the Divine, intercessionally, one Better, as if I glorify Thee.
Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
May I get rid of passions, and enemies, and need, and all sorrow, trembling and love with reverence, More loving man, now approach Your immortal and Divine Mysteries, and grant you grace: blessed are you, Lord, our Father God.
Holy Mother of God, save us.
Who gave birth to the Savior of Christ more than the mind, God-gracious, I pray to Thee now, Thy servant, Pure unclean: whoever wants me now to approach the most pure Mysteries, cleanse everything from the filth of flesh and spirit.

Canto 8

Irmos: Into the fiery cave to the Jewish youth who descended, and flame into the dew of the transformed God, sing the deeds like the Lord, and exalt for all eternity.
Build a pure heart in me, O God, and renew the spirit of rights in my womb.
Heavenly, and terrible, and Thy saints, Christ, now the Mysteries, and Thy Divine and secret suppers of a fellowship to be and vouch for me to the desperate, O God, my Savior.
Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Benevolence has resorted to Thy, Better, with fear I call Ty: abide in me, Savior, and I, as you advertised, in Thee; Behold, daring to Thy mercy, I am Thy Body, and I drink Thy Blood.
Holy Trinity, our God, glory to Thee.
I tremble, receiving fire, lest I be scorched like wax and like grass; ole a terrible sacrament! ole the grace of God! What kind of Divine Body and Blood do I partake of, and am incorruptible I am created?

Canto 9

Irmos: The Son, God and the Lord of the Parent is without beginning, incarnate from the Virgin to us appear, darkened to enlighten, gather the wasted one: by this we magnify the all-singing Mother of God.
Build a pure heart in me, O God, and renew the spirit of rights in my womb.
Christ is there, taste and see: the Lord for us, for our sake, who was more ancient for us, brought Himself as one, as an offering to His Father, will ever be hardened, sanctify those who partake.
Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
May I be sanctified in soul and body, Master, may I be enlightened, may I be saved, may I be Your house by the communion of the sacred Mysteries, You dwelling with the Father and the Spirit, the Benefactor of the Most Merciful.
Give me the joy of Thy salvation, and confirm me with the Spirit of the Lord.
Let it be like fire, and like light, Thy Body and Blood, my Savior, most honorable, scorching sinful substance, burning thorns of passions, and enlightening me all, worship Thy Divine.
Holy Mother of God, save us.
God made himself incarnate from Thy pure blood; even so, every race sings to Thee, the Lady, the clever ones glorify the multitudes, as if by Thee they see the Lord in all, realized by mankind.

It is worthy to eat ...
Trisagion. Holy Trinity ...
Our Father...

Troparion of the day or holiday. If it is a week, the troparion is Sunday by voice. If not, the real troparia, voice 6:
Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us; every answer is bewildering, this Ti prayer, like the Master, we bring sinners: have mercy on us.
Glory: Lord, have mercy on us, in You with hope; Do not be angry with us, remember our iniquities below, but look after and now, as if gracious, and deliver us from our enemies. Thou art our God, and we are Thy people, all works Thy hand, and we call on Thy name.
And now: Open the doors of mercy to us, blessed Mother of God, hoping in Thee, let us not perish, but let us get rid of Thy troubles: Thou art the salvation of the Christian race.
Lord, have mercy (40 times and bows, as much as you want).

And poems:
Although a human being, the Body of the Lord,
Start with fear, but do not be scorched: there is more fire.
Drinking the Divine Blood for communion,
First, reconcile thee to those who grieve.
The same daring, mysterious poison.
Before the sacrament of the terrible sacrifice,
Lord's Life-giving Body,
Sim pray in a way with trembling:

Prayer 1, Basil the Great:
Lord Jesus Christ, our God, the Source of life and immortality, of all creatures visible and invisible to the Makeerer, of the beginningless Father, co-perceiving to the Son and primordial, for the sake of goodness in the last days in the flesh was clothed, and crucified, and buried behind us ungrateful and evil Renewed with blood our nature corrupted by sin, Himself, the Immortal King, accept my sinful repentance, and incline Thy ear to me, and hear my verbs. Those who have sinned, O Lord, who have sinned into heaven and before You, and I am worthy to look at the height of Your glory: in anger for Your goodness, having transgressed Your commandments, and disobeying Your commands. But Thou, Lord, you are not malignant, long-suffering and many-merciful, Thou art not betrayed me to perish with my iniquities, waiting in every possible way for my conversion. Thou art more, Thou art loving man, Thy prophet: as if I want I do not want the death of a sinner, but a hedgehog will turn and live to be him. Do not want to, Master, destroy Your hand, beneath the favor of the death of humanity, but want everyone to be saved, and come to the mind of truth. The same and I, if I am not worthy of heaven and earth, and sowing temporary life, having obeyed sin altogether, and enslaved with sweetness, and defiled your image; But when Thy creation and creation were, I do not despair of my salvation, accursed one, I daring to come to Thy immeasurable benevolence. Accept me and me, O Lord of mankind, like a harlot, like a robber, like a publican and like a prodigal, and take my heavy burden of sins, take on the world of sin, and heal human infirmities, who work and are burdened to You, call upon you and do not repose but sinful to repentance. And cleanse me from all defilement of the flesh and spirit, and teach me to perfect holiness in Thy passion: as if by pure knowledge of my conscience, I receive Thy holy things, I will unite with Thy holy Body and Blood, and I have Thy living and abiding in me, with the Father, and by your Holy Spirit. To her, Lord Jesus Christ, my God, and may not in the judgments be the communion of Thy most pure and life-giving Mysteries, lower may I be weak in soul and body, from a hedgehog unworthy to take communion, but grant me, even to my final breath, not condemned part of Thy holy things, in the Holy Spirit communion, in the way of the eternal life, and in a favorable response to Thy terrible judgment: as if I and all Thy elect would be a fellowship of Thy incorruptible blessings, even Thou art prepared for those who love Thy, Lord, in them Thou art was glorified in eyelids. Amen.

Prayer 2, St. John Chrysostom:
O Lord my God, vem, as I am worthy, I am pleased below, but under the roof of the temple of my soul, now I’m all empty and fell to eat, and I am not worthy of the hedgehog’s head in me: but as if from above you humbled yourself for your sake, humble yourself and now to my humility; and as if you perceived in the nativity scene and in the dumb manger near the neighborhood, perceived my soulless soul in the manger and in my defiled body. And as if you were not unworthy to bring in, and to light up sinners in the house of Simon the leper, so please, take in my humble soul, leper and sinner, into the house; and as if you didn’t reject such a harlot and sinner who came and touched You; and as if thou did not abhor her foul lips and unclean ones that kiss You, abhor me lower than my filthy lips and unclean ones, lower than my vile and unclean lips, and my filthy and unclean tongue. But let there be coal of Thy Most Holy Body, and honest Thy Blood, for the sanctification and enlightenment and health of my humble soul and body, for the relief of the burdens of many of my sins, for keeping from every devilish act, for driving away and forbidding my evil and evil custom, for the mortification of passions, for the supply of Thy commandments, for the application of Thy Divine grace, and the appropriation of Thy Kingdom. Not as if I despise I come to You, Christ God, but as if daring to Your ineffable goodness, and may not move away from Your communion, from the mental wolf I will be caught by the beasts. I also pray to Thee: as one is Holy, Master, sanctify my soul and body, mind and heart, belly and womb, and renew me all, and root Thy fear in my goodness, and Thy sanctification is inalienable from me; and wake me a helper and intercessor, nourishing my belly in the world, making me and your right hand stand with your saints, prayers and prayers of Thy Most Pure Mother, Thy immaterial servants and pure powers, and all the saints who have delighted You from time immemorial. Amen.

Alone pure and incorruptible Lord, for the ineffable mercy of humanity our all perceived confusion, from pure and virgin blood more than the nature of the birth of Thee, the Divine Spirit by the invasion, and the grace of the ever-present Father, Christ Jesus, the wisdom of God, and peace, and power; By your perception, life-giving and saving suffering, perceived, cross, nails, spear, death, kill my soulful bodily passions. By Thy burial of hell, captive of the kingdom, bury my good thoughts, crafty counsel, and ruin the spirits of crafty. Having raised up your fallen forefather by Thy three days' and life-giving resurrection, raise me up with sin that crawled, offering images of repentance to me. By Thy glorious ascension, the fleshly, dear perception, and honoring this with the right hand of the Father, grant me the right part of those who are saved by the sacrament of Thy Holy Mysteries. By the thread of Thy Comforter Spirit, holy vessels are sacred Thy disciples have done, friend, and show me that coming. Although the packs come to judge the universe with righteousness, please, and I find Thee on the cloud, my Judge and My Creator, with all Thy saints: yes, I endlessly praise and praise Thee, with Thy beginningless Father, and the Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Thy Spirit, now and forever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 4, St. John of Damascus:
O Lord Jesus Christ, our God, alone having the power of man to forsake sins, for it is good and the Man-lover, despise my all in knowledge and not in knowledge of sin, and grant me uncondemned communion of the Divine, and most glorious, and most pure, and life-giving Your Mysteries, not in heaviness, neither into torment, nor into the application of sins, but into cleansing, and sanctification, and betrothal of the future Belly and kingdom, into the wall and help, and into the objection of those who resist, into the destruction of many of my sins. Thou art the God of mercy, and bounty, and love for mankind, and we glorify Thee, with the Father, and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 5, St. Basil the Great:
We, Lord, as if I unworthily partake of the most pure Thy Body and the honest Thy Blood, and I am guilty, and I drink judgment on myself, not judging the Body and Blood of Thy Christ and my God, but for Thy compassion I dare to come to Thy recruiting: My poisonous flesh and drink my blood, he abides in me, and I am in him. Be merciful for, O Lord, and do not expose me as a sinner, but do with me according to Your mercy; and may this holy be me for healing, and cleansing, and enlightenment, and preservation, and salvation, and for the sanctification of soul and body; to drive away all dreams, and evil deeds, and devil's deeds, thoughtfully acting in my success, in boldness and love, even to You; in the correction of life and confirmation, in the return of virtue and perfection; in fulfillment of the commandments, in the Holy Spirit communion, in the way of the eternal belly, in response, favorable at Thy terrible judgment: not in judgment or in condemnation.

Prayer 6, Saint Simeon the New Theologian:
From bad lips, from a vile heart, from an unclean tongue, from the soul defiled, accept prayer, my Christ, and do not despise my words, below images, below innocence. Give me boldly verb, I want it, my Christ, but teach me more that it is fitting for me to create and verb. Those who have sinned more than a harlot, I will also take you away where you dwell, having bought myrrh, come boldly to anoint Your noses, my God, my Master and my Christ. As if he did not reject the one who came from the heart, abhor me below, to the Word: Thine me, give me a nose, and hold and kiss, and tear streams, as if with a precious peace, to anoint this impudently. Wash me with my tears, cleanse me with them, the Word. Leave my sins as well, and grant me forgiveness. Weigh a multitude of evils, weighed and my scabs, and sore my sores, but weighed the faith, and the will of the zrisha, and hear sighing. Thee, my God, my Creator, my Redeemer does not hide, below is a tearful drop, below a drop is a certain part. Thy eyes see my unfinished work, but in Thy bottom and still unfinished the essence is written to You. See my humility, see my labor, and forsake all sins, O God of all: yes, with a pure heart, trembling thought, and a contrite soul, I partake of Thy non-profane and Holy Mysteries, every poisonous image is revived and adored and all poisonous is revived and drunk with a pure heart; Thou didst declare, my Lord: everyone who is poisonous to My Flesh, and drink My Blood, in Me, this one dwells, in him and I am seven. True is the word of every Lord and my God: partake of divine communion and idolizing graces, not for I am one, but with Thee, my Christ, the three-solar Light that enlightens the world. Yes, I will not be the only one besides Thee the Life-Giver, my breath, my belly, my joy, the salvation of the world. For this reason, for the sake of those who come to You, as if you see me, with tears, and with a broken soul, I ask for deliverance of my sins, and to partake of Your life-giving and immaculate Sacraments without condemnation, may continue, as you advertise, with me treasured: may you not receive me besides The adorable will delight me more flatteringly, and the deceiver will lead away those who adore Your words. For this, for the sake of You, I fall, and the warmth of Ty cry: as thou hast received the prodigal, and the harlot who came, so accept me the prodigal and the filthy, Generous. With a contrite soul, now coming to You, vem, Savior, as another, like I, do not sin You, lower than the deed of deeds, even as I do. But this we pack, for it is not the majesty of sins, nor the multitude of sins that surpasses my God, much patience, and extreme philanthropy; but with the mercy of compassion, warmly repenting, and cleanse, and the luminaries, and create the light, the partakers, the associates of Thy Divinity, do not envy, and the strange with both an Angel and a human thought, talk to them many times, like Thy true friend. This is insolently creating me, this one is stealing me, my Christ. And daring in Your rich blessing to us, rejoicing together and trembling, fire and partake of this grass, and strangely miracle, we irrigate unopened, as if the bush was burning in an ancient way. Now, with a grateful thought, with a grateful heart, grateful for my wealth, soul and body, I bow down and magnify, and praise Thee, my God, as a blessed one exists, now and forever.

Prayer 7, St. John Chrysostom:
God, weaken, leave, forgive me my sins, the tree of Thy sinned, if in word, if in deed, if in thought, willingly or unwillingly, with reason or foolishness, forgive me all as good and a Human Lover, and with the prayers of Thy Most Pure Mother, Thy intelligent servants and holy powers, and all the saints who have delighted You from time immemorial, delight without condemnation to accept your holy and most pure Body and honest Blood, for the healing of soul and body, and for the cleansing of my wicked thoughts. For Thine is the kingdom and power and glory, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen.
His, 8th:
I am pleased, Master Lord, that you come under the roof of my soul; but you still want to, like a Man-lover, to live in me, daring to begin; command, so I will open the doors, you alone created art, and entered with philanthropy as you were, enter and enlighten my darkened thought. I believe that you have done this: do not drive away the harlot who came to you with tears; below the publican you rejected the one who repented; below the thief, having come to know thy kingdom, thou hast driven away; below the persecutor who repented, thou didst, hedgehog: but from repentance to Thee who came all, in the person of Thy friends, Thou didst repent, the One blessed one always, now and forever. Amen.
His 9th:
O Lord Jesus Christ, my God, weaken, leave, cleanse and forgive me the sinner, and the indecent, and unworthy of Thy servant, sins, and sins, and my fall, my tree from my youth, even to the present day and hour of those who have sinned: if in the mind and in foolishness, even in words or deeds, or thoughts and thoughts, and undertakings, and all my feelings. And through the prayers of the seedless birth of Thee, the Most Pure and Ever-Virgin Mary, Your Mother, uniting the unashamed hope and intercession and my salvation, grant me uncondemned communion of Your most pure, immortal, life-giving and terrible Sacraments, for the forgiveness and illumination of sins and sanctifying eternal life strength, healing, and health of the soul and body, and into the consumption and all-perfect destruction of my wicked thoughts, and thoughts, and enterprises, and night dreams, dark and wicked spirits; as Thine is the kingdom, and power, and glory, and honor, and worship, with the Father and Thy Holy Spirit, now and forever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 10, St. John of Damascus:
I stand before the doors of Thy temple, and I do not retreat from fierce thoughts; but thou, Christ God, justifying the publican, and having mercy on Canaanite, and opening the door to the robber of paradise, open the womb of Thy humanity to me, and receive me that comes and touches Thee, like a harlot, and bleeds: Ova, touching the edge of Thy robe, comfort her healing But having restrained Thy most purely nose, I have borne the resolution of sins. But I, accursed, daring to perceive all Your Body, may I not be disgraced; but accept me, as it were, and enlighten my spiritual feelings, burning my sinful guilt, with the seedless prayers of the Birth of You, and of the Heavenly Powers; as blessed art thou forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer of Saint John Chrysostom:
I believe, O Lord, and I confess that you are truly the Christ, the Son of the living God, who came to the world of sinners to save, from them I am the first. I still believe that this is Thy most pure Body, and this is Thy most honest Blood. I pray to You: have mercy on me, and forgive my sins, voluntary and involuntary, even in word, even in deed, even knowledge and ignorance, and grant me uncondemned communion of Thy most pure Sacraments, for the remission of sins, and into eternal life. Amen.

Coming to receive communion, mentally recite these verses of Metaphrast:
Behold, I proceed to Divine Communion.
For the clerk, don't scorch me with the introduction:
Thou art fire, unworthy to burn.
But cleanse me from all filth.

Then:
Thy secret suppers are today, Son of God, take my partaker with me; We will not give you a secret as your enemy, nor will I give you a kiss, like Judas, but like a robber I confess You: remember me, Lord, in Your Kingdom.

And poems:
Terrify the worshiping Blood, man, in vain:
There is fire, unworthy burning.
The Divine Body both adores me and nourishes:
Loves the spirit, but the mind feeds strangely.

Then the tropari:
You have delighted me with love, Christ, and you have changed me with your Divine diligence; but my sins have fallen into an insubstantial fire, and grant pleasure to the hedgehog in Thee: yes, exulting, I magnify, Better, Thy two comings.
Into the lights of Thy Saints, how can I enter the unworthy one? If I dare to take it into the palace, my clothes denounces me, as if I was not a marriage, and I will be bound by the outcast from the Angels. Cleanse, O Lord, the filth of my soul, and save me, like a Human Lover.

Also prayer:
Master of Humanity, Lord Jesus Christ, my God, may not this Holy One be in judgments, for a hedgehog unworthy of being: but for the purification and sanctification of the soul and body, and for the betrothal of the future life and kingdom. But for me, a hedgehog to cleave to God, there is good, lay in the Lord the hope of my salvation.

And further:
Thy secret supper ... (see above)

Whoever wants to receive communion must prepare himself worthily for this holy sacrament. This preparation (in church practice it is called fasting) lasts several days and concerns both the bodily and spiritual life of a person. The body is prescribed abstinence, i.e. bodily purity (abstinence from marital relations) and restriction in food (fasting). On the days of fasting, food of animal origin is excluded - meat, milk, eggs and, about strict fasting, fish. Bread, vegetables, fruits are consumed in moderation. The mind should not be scattered over the little things of everyday life and be entertained.
On the days of fasting, one should attend services in the church, if circumstances permit, and more diligently follow the home prayer rule: whoever does not usually read all morning and evening prayers, let him read everything in full, those who do not read the canons, let him read at least one at a time on these days. canon. On the eve of communion, one must be at the evening service and read at home, in addition to the usual prayers for the future sleep, the canon of penitence, the canon of the Mother of God and the Guardian Angel. The canons are read either one after the other in full, or they are combined in this way: the irmos of the first canon of the penitential canon is read ("As Israel walked dry, on the abyss with her feet, seeing the persecutor of Pharaoh being drowned, we sing the victory song to God, cry out") and the troparia, then steam the first songs of the canon to the Mother of God ("With many misfortunes, I run to You, I seek salvation: oh, Mother of the Word and the Virgin, save me from the heavy and fierce"), lowering the irmos "Water has passed ...", and steam the canon to the Guardian Angel, also without irmos ("We drink to the Lord, who led people through His Red Sea, as if only gloriously glorified"). The following songs are read in the same way. The troparion before the canon to the Mother of God and the Guardian Angel, as well as the stichera after the canon to the Mother of God, are omitted in this case.
The canon for communion is also read and, whoever wishes, an akathist to Jesus the Sweetest. After midnight, they no longer eat or drink, for it is customary to begin the Sacrament of Communion on an empty stomach. In the morning, morning prayers are read and all adherence to Holy Communion, except for the canon read the day before.
Before communion, confession is necessary - whether in the evening, or in the morning, before the Liturgy.

Prayers of thanks for Holy Communion.

Glory to You, God. Glory to You, God. Glory to You, God.

Thanksgiving prayer, 1st:
I thank you, Lord, my God, for you did not reject me as a sinner, but you vouchsafed me to be a fellowship of Thy shrines. I thank Thee, as Thou hast vouchsafed me unworthy to partake of Thy Most Pure and Heavenly Gifts. But Master of Humanity, for our sake, the dead and resurrected, and the dreadful and life-giving Sacraments that have been given to us for the benefit and sanctification of our souls and bodies, grant this to me too, for the healing of soul and body, for driving away everyone who resists, for the enlightenment of the eyes of my heart. , in the peace of my spiritual strength, in faith not ashamed, in unhypocritical love, in the fulfillment of wisdom, in keeping Your commandments, in the application of Your Divine grace and Your Kingdom appropriation; so that in Thy sanctity we shall be preserved by those, I always remember Thy grace, and I do not live for myself, but for You, our Lord and Benefactor; and so this life came out about the hope of the eternal belly, into the everlasting one I will achieve peace, where the celebrating voice is unceasing, and endless sweetness, who see your face with ineffable kindness. Thou art a true desire, and the ineffable joy of those who love Thee, Christ our God, and Thee sings all creation forever. Amen.

Prayer 2, St. Basil the Great:
Lord Christ God, King of the ages, and the Coordinator of all, I thank Thee for all who have given me good ones, and for the communion of Thy most pure and life-giving Sacraments. I pray to Thee, Better and Better for Man: keep me under Thy roof, and in Thy canopy; and grant me a clear conscience, even to my last breath, worthy to partake of Thy holy things, for the remission of sins, and for eternal life. Thou art the animal bread, the source of holiness, the Giver of the good, and we glorify Thee, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 3, Simeon Metaphrast:
Thy flesh giving food to me by Thy will, this fire and scorching unworthy ones, so do not scorch me, my Baker; but rather pass into my uds, into all formations, into the womb, into the heart. The thorns of all my sins have fallen. Cleanse your soul, sanctify your thoughts. Compositions solidify with bones together. Enlighten the senses of a simple five. Bring me all the way to Thy fear. Always cover, observe, and save me from every deed and word of the soulful. Cleanse and wash and decorate me; fertilize, educate, and enlighten me. Show me Thy village of the one Spirit, and not to that village of sin. Yes, like Thy house, the entrance of communion, like fire, every villain, every passion runs to me. Prayer books I bring to You all the holy, the ruling authority of the incorporeal, Thy Forerunner, Wise Apostles, to this Thy unclean, pure Mother, accept their prayers in a graceful way, my Christ, and make Thy servant a son of light. Thou art the sanctification and one of ours, Better, souls and lordship; and to You it is like, like God and the Sovereign, we give all glory every day.

Prayer 4:
Thy Holy Body, O Lord, Jesus Christ, our God, may there be me in an eternal stomach, and Thy honest blood for the remission of sins: wake me this thanksgiving for joy, health and gladness; in the terrible and second coming of Thy vouch for me a sinful article at the right hand of Thy glory, with the prayers of Thy Most Pure Mother, and of all the saints.

Prayer 5, to the Most Holy Theotokos:
The Most Holy Lady of the Theotokos, the light of my darkened soul, hope, cover, refuge, consolation, my joy, thank You, as if you have made me unworthy, partaker of the existence of the Most Pure Body and Honest Blood of Your Son. But who gave birth to the true Light, enlighten my clever eyes of the heart; Even who gave birth to the Source of immortality, revive me who was killed by sin; Even more gracious God, amiable Mother, have mercy on me, and give me tenderness and contrition in my heart, and humility in my thoughts, and a proclamation in captivity of my thoughts; and vouch for me to my last breath, uncondemnedly accept the holy Mysteries consecration, for the healing of the soul and body. And give me tears of repentance and confession, in a hedgehog and praise Thee in all the days of my life, as blessed and forwarded thou art forever. Amen.

Now let go of Thy servant, Master, according to Thy verb, in peace: as if my eyes see Thy salvation, I have prepared before the face of all people, light for the revelation of tongues and the glory of Thy people, Israel.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us (thrice).
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.

Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; Lord, cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our iniquity; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name's sake.
Lord, have mercy (three times).
Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, both now and forever and forever and ever. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we also leave our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Troparion of St. John Chrysostom, voice 8:
Your lips, like the lightness of fire, brightening grace, enlighten the universe: not the love of the world's treasures, show us the height of humility, but punishing your words, Father John Chrysostom, pray the Word of Christ God to save our souls.

Kontakion, voice 6:
Glory: You have received Divine grace from heaven, and with your lips teach all to worship in the Trinity one God, John Chrysostom, all blessed, reverend, we praise you worthily: you are a mentor, as if you were divine.

If the liturgy of St. Basil the Great was celebrated, read:

troparion to Basil the Great, voice 1:
Throughout the whole earth, your broadcasting, as if it received your word, you taught divinely, you understood the nature of beings, you have adorned human customs, royal priesthood, reverend Father, pray to Christ God, save our souls.

Kontakion, voice 4th:
Glory: Thou an unshakable foundation appeared to the Church, giving all the indestructible domination of man, having sealed with your orders, the unbelievable Reverend Basil.
And now: The betrayal of Christians is not shameful, an immutable intercession to the Creator, do not despise the voice of sinful prayers, but pre-empt, like the Good One, to help us, who are rightly calling Ty: hurry up to prayer, and sweep for supplication, presenting always to the Mother of God, who honor Thee.

If the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts was celebrated, read:

troparion to St. Gregory the Dvoeslov Basil the Great, voice 4:
Even from God from above we receive divine grace, gloriously Gregory, and we strengthen Him with strength, you have deigned to march in the gospel, since you have received the reward of labors from Christ with all blessedness: pray to Him that our souls be saved.

Kontakion, voice 3:
Glory: Thou didst appear to be the Leader of the Shepherd of Christ, monks in succession, Father Gregory, instructing the heavenly fence, and from there you taught the flock of Christ by His commandment: now you rejoice with them, and rejoice in heavenly blood.
Lord have mercy (12 times). Glory: And now:
The most honest cherub and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption, we magnify the Mother of God.

Prayer of an illiterate after communion of the Holy Mysteries.

(archpriest I. Evropytseva)

Lord Jesus Christ, my sweet Redeemer, I feel that I am not worthy of Your Most Holy Body and Blood, but by Your goodness I also received Your Cup as my brothers: I thank You from the bottom of my heart for Your Heavenly Mercy to me and your grace. I pray Thee, Lord, may this communion be with me in the cleansing of sins and the health of the body, in the correction of life and future eternal bliss.
