Electric lock on the door. Electronic lock on the front door - your reliable protection Types of locks and types of lock keys: automatic, coded, with a card

Equipping a modern home includes reliable door protection, while there is a wide variety of designs. Their important element is the locking mechanism, which determines the level of protection against any damage or unauthorized entry. Factors such as the method of opening also depend on the type chosen. By placing an electric lock on the front door, you can control the opening remotely. However, this is not the only advantage.

Characteristics of the electric lock on the door and its types

An electric lock is a modern filling for a door that ensures the safety of your home at a high level with the ability to control it with an electric signal. There are several varieties of such devices, which differ in the type of closure.

Types of electrical door protection devices:

  • - it is based on an electromagnetic field, which is created by applying current, with its help the mechanical bar is kept in one position and ensures the closing of the door;
  • - closing depends on the level of protection, the basis is the bolt, it is controlled by the remote control;
  • - work is ensured by a short supply of voltage, energy for such a mechanism is needed only in the process of opening / closing the door.

The electric lock on the door of a mechanical type works with the help of an electric latch, which is the counterpart of the lock. When a command is received from the key, it releases the door from constipation, without the need to turn the key. Especially popular are locks with an electromagnetic card, which are actively used in office-type premises, as well as banking and secret institutions. Also actively used on the doors to apartment buildings with intercom. They are opened using special plastic cards, a GSM beacon, touch keys, a signal from a key fob, and also using a special code.

Such locks are able to provide reliable protection against entry into the premises of unauthorized persons. They operate from a special signal from a remote control that regulates the opening / closing of the door.

Benefits of electric door locks

The decision to purchase an electric lock for the front door should be based on the characteristics. It is necessary to take into account the pros and cons of devices, since their use should not cause discomfort. Modern protection has the following advantages:

  • opening - from the inside provides a key, from the outside - a special button, control panel or code;
  • simple structural characteristics;
  • reliable protection against ill-wishers;
  • easy control.

However, if you decide to buy an electric lock for your home, you need to take into account the need for a constant supply of current. If there is a power failure, it will not be possible to open it yourself. Design features will require the intervention of the master.

Connecting an electric lock is the basis for its further functioning. This should be done by a specialist, as he can guarantee the correct installation. In addition, a good master is able to provide good service in the future, if the need arises.

When deciding to purchase an electric lock, price is a key factor. On our portal models of different price categories are presented. The cost is determined by the features of filling and filling work. At the same time, the quality of each model is guaranteed.

Electric locks are modern locking devices that operate under the influence of electric current. Installation of electric locks in most cases is carried out by professionals, however, all work can be done on your own. Installation and connection require a minimum set of tools, a lot of attention and maximum precision.

Additional devices for electric locks

The device of the electric lock depends on its type. Currently there are:

  • electromechanical locks;
  • electromagnetic locks.

The composition of the electromechanical lock

Combines the functions of a simple mechanical shutter and an electric drive.

Electric door lock with mechanical opening function consists of:

  • housing of the device in which the electric motor is installed, a larva for opening with a key and locking bolts;
  • striker plate;
  • a set of keys;
  • additional electrical wires;
  • fasteners;
  • instructions describing how to install an electric lock.

It is advisable to install electromechanical locks indoors or additionally protect them from moisture with casings.

The composition of the electromagnetic lock

It holds the door in the closed position with the help of a magnetic field that occurs due to the supply of electric current, that is, a powerful magnet located in one part of the lock holds the metal bar on the counterpart of the mechanism.

The composition of such a device when it is purchased includes:

  • magnet, which is a separate part of the lock;
  • reciprocal metal bar, attracted by a magnet;
  • corner for mounting the main unit;
  • fasteners;
  • additional wires;
  • instructions that describe in detail how to connect the electric lock.

Electromagnetic locks are less whimsical than electromechanical ones. You can use the devices without additional protection both indoors and outdoors.

Additional equipment for any kind of electric locks

Installation of electric locks on the door or is impossible without additional equipment, which includes:

  • a controller that controls the electric lock and is located in a special unit;
  • uninterruptible power supply, which is required for the operation of the device during periods of central power outage. The electric lock can be powered from an electrical outlet or batteries located in this unit. Charging of accumulators is made from the network adapter;
  • a reader for code information from a key fob or card, which is located on the outside of the door;
  • door opening device from the inside. The electric lock on the front door can be equipped with this device for additional convenience of users.

If the owner wishes, the electric lock on the gate can be equipped with an intercom with the function of autonomous opening from the living quarters. In this case, you do not have to go out every time to let in visitors.

Another additional device - closer - is installed at the request of the user. Doors equipped with closers operate smoothly, without vibration when closing, which reduces the life of the lock.

A set of additional devices is determined by the need (controller and power supply) and the wishes of the user.

Electric lock installation

Installing an electric lock with your own hands is done in various ways, depending on the type of device and its location.

If the locking mechanism is to be installed on the door, mortise locks are predominantly used.

If a locking device is required to fix the gate, then overhead locks are used.

Installation of an electric lock on the front door

How to put an electric lock on the front door? This will require:

  • drill with various attachments for drilling holes for fastening elements of the lock and additional equipment;
  • screwdriver for secure fixation of connecting elements;
  • chisel, hammer. Necessary for arranging an internal niche in wooden structures;
  • boxes or other devices to protect electrical wires from mechanical damage and moisture, as well as to give the room an aesthetic appearance.

You can embed an electric lock with your own hands according to the following scheme:

  1. on the door leaf, mark the area for installing the lock and mark the attachment points of the device;

Correct marking is the key to proper installation and smooth operation of the lock.

  1. remove part of the door leaf and drill holes for the connecting bolts;
  2. install the lock in a niche and securely fix the device;
  3. mark the area under the striker on the door jamb;
  4. remove part of the jamb in the same way;
  5. install and secure the reciprocal bar;
  6. install additional equipment;

The power supply is located near the current source. It is more expedient to install the controller on the wall next to the door so that the equipment does not interfere with the passage and opening of the door.

  1. stretch and remove all connecting wires in the box;
  2. connect all mechanisms. The wiring diagram for the electric lock is included in the kit;
  3. connect the circuit to a power source;
  4. check the functionality.

If errors or shortcomings are found, they should be eliminated and / or corrected, since the lock will not work correctly.

The process of installing a mortise lock is discussed in detail in the video.

Installing an electric lock on a gate

To install an electric lock on a gate, in addition to the above equipment, you will need:

  • Bulgarian;
  • welding machine.

This equipment is necessary for the installation of profile pipes on which the lock will be mounted.

You can install the lock using the following instructions:

  1. if necessary, mount a frame from profile pipes in the area of the lock installation. How to do this correctly will help you figure out the electric lock diagram attached to the equipment set, on which all dimensions of the device are marked;
  2. markup for further installation. It is necessary to note the places of fastenings and through holes required for mounting the system elements;
  3. install and secure the lock;
  1. in a similar way, mount the reciprocal bar and the additional equipment provided for by the design;
  2. connect the electric lock according to the attached diagram;
  3. install a protective cover over the lock;
  4. check the correct operation of the device. Correct deficiencies if necessary.

Installation of electric locks is carried out according to the schemes attached to the device. In order for the mechanism to work correctly and be used for a long period of time, the entire installation process must be carried out with the utmost clarity and increased attention.

The article will tell about the designs of electronic locks available on the market, from it you will learn the principle of operation of locking mechanisms, the types of electronic lock control systems used. Reading will help you make the right choice of electronic lock.

The use of electromagnets and servo drives made it possible to change the idea of the device of locks. The new generation of locking mechanisms uses a commanded electrical impulse (usually 12 V DC) to move the bolt or create clamping force. This made it possible to use electromechanical locks in the locking part of the door, which differ in design from classical mechanical locks, which generally increases the security of the home from the intrusion of unauthorized persons.

With the help of microprocessor control systems associated with electromagnetic or electromechanical locks, access to the premises of a certain circle of people is easily organized, the door locking mechanism is remotely controlled or the door is opened without a classic key. All this is almost impossible to implement on the basis of standard mechanical locks.

Due to the simplicity of the design, electromagnetic and electromechanical locks are able to withstand tens of thousands of opening and closing cycles without failure, which is beyond the power of conventional mechanical locks.

According to the principle of organization of the locking mechanism, modern electromechanical locks can be divided into the following main groups:

  1. Electric bolt locks.
  2. Invisible castles.
  3. Electric locks.
  4. Electric latches.
  5. Electromechanical locks.

According to the control systems installed in them, locks can be conditionally divided into four types.

Radio controller

These systems can recognize both specialized key fobs and operate on standard frequencies of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth networks. In the latter version, a standard tablet or smartphone can be used as a “key”.

Code dialing keyboards

The simplest and most common technical solution for electronic lock control systems. To activate the lock mechanism, it is enough to enter a certain code, so there is no need to additionally purchase different types of keys.

The main "disease" of this control system is the erroneous operation or failure of the keys of the digital remote control, which is associated with the peculiarities of its design. Over time, the contact plates oxidize and may not close the contact or distort the applied signal, which leads to erroneous operation of the buttons. Therefore, all keypad locks require regular maintenance.

Contact key controllers

One of the most common solutions on the market of electronic locks. The lock allows you to memorize a certain number of contact keys, made in the form of a keychain or a plastic card with a magnetic tape. The system has a high degree of reliability.

Proximity key controllers

This system allows you to work with special radio-magnetic cards, which are triggered remotely (at a distance of 10-15 cm from the reader).

Electronic lock that combines control with a code, a contact key and a remote key

Consider in detail all types of electronic locks, their advantages and disadvantages.

Electromagnetic locks

Electromagnetic locks are less than all other electronic locks similar to classic mechanical locks. They consist of three main parts:

  1. electromagnet plates.
  2. Reciprocal metal plate.
  3. Control systems.

These electronic locks are widely used as a locking mechanism on metal access doors. The microprocessor system that controls them works both in intercom mode (reads and processes information from the keyboard and remote control handsets), and analyzes information from contact keys.

Advantages

Due to the high reliability of the electromagnetic lock, combined with a significant attraction force of the plate to the lock (50-500 kg), such a door guarantees a sufficient degree of protection of the premises from third-party penetration. The installed electromagnets and the outdoor part of the electronic lock control system are protected from moisture, which increases their reliability.

Electromagnetic lock for 230 kg

After being disconnected from the mains, electromagnetic locks can operate for a short time from a battery connected to the control system. After the battery is discharged, the electromagnetic lock will automatically open.

Flaws

The disadvantage of this system is the weak noise immunity of the communication lines of the control system with feedback tubes installed in each apartment, which can lead to failure of the entire system during a severe thunderstorm.

Self-repair and installation of this system is rare, since it involves a large amount of installation work, followed by setting up the control system.

Electric bolt locks

This type of lock is similar in appearance to a classic mechanical bolt lock. It can be equipped with various control systems, which ensures its versatility.

The system includes an electromagnetic bolt wire that can be used to open and close the door. Some models, thanks to built-in spring return mechanisms, provide automatic closing or opening of the lock in the event of a power failure.

Advantages

The electromagnetic mechanisms installed in these locks are highly reliable, significantly exceeding similar mechanical locks. A number of models are equipped with a door status monitoring system, which makes it possible to exclude spontaneous operation of the locking mechanism in its open state.

All models are easy to install and configure, installation and maintenance work does not require special knowledge, which has led to their high popularity.

Flaws

The inability to open the door in the absence of power to the lock.

Since this lock consists of an electromagnet, return springs and an electronic control system, its repair is reduced to checking the operation of the magnet and the condition of the springs, and maintenance is limited to lubricating moving parts and replacing bushings and return springs. When the lock is equipped with a control system that works with contactless keys or with radio control, they can be used as "invisible".

Invisible locks

This type of lock is specially designed for concealed installation. As these locks, both electronic bolt locks and compact latch locks can be used. Invisible locks can be installed in different parts of the door leaf, or built into standard mechanical locks, which significantly increases their resistance to breaking.

The lock is supplied with a control system that reads the signals transmitted via the radio channel. Radio networks can be used as a signal source for opening and closing an electronic lock.

The lock is powered by a separate power supply (usually 12 or 5 VDC is used). Auxiliary batteries are used to independently power the lock during a power outage. When buying an invisible lock, you need to pay attention to the condition of the locking tongue, the best option is when the tongue is initially retracted.

Important: if there is a long power failure, the self-closing lock cannot be opened.

Advantages

This lock is quite simple in its design and contains a minimum number of working units, which makes it easy to set up and, if necessary, repair.

Flaws

It cannot be used as a separate locking mechanism due to the simplicity of the design.

Electromotive locks

This type of locks does not differ in its capabilities from electric bolt locks. Its main difference is the use of a compact electric motor to move the locking mechanism.

A feature of some locks that use an electric motor as a driving element is their integration into a single control unit. Control units can process information both from the keypad and from key fobs of various types.

These electromotive locks are installed directly on classic mechanical locks with a cylindrical cylinder. With their help, you can easily and with minimal time and effort to re-equip a classic mechanical lock, replacing the usual lock cylinder with an electric one.

An example of an electromotive stealth lock

Advantages

Low power consumption and, as a result, the possibility of continuous operation when powered by classic AA batteries.

The disadvantages also include the complexity of the mechanism, which requires regular maintenance, including maintenance of the locking mechanism, controlled by a mechanical and electric drive.

The principle of operation of an electromechanical lock

Ready-made solutions based on electronic locks of various types:

Manufacturer, lock type Type of locking mechanism Lock case type Control price, rub.
Electronic lock ATIS LOCK on contact keys electromagnet and mechanical key overhead remote from intercom, contact key fob 4000
Electronic lock ATIS AM 280 on key chains electromagnet mortise 4000
Electric bolt lock AB700A on key chains electromagnet mortise remote from the intercom, radio key fob 4200
Electronic lock ATIS AM 280 on cards electromagnet mortise remote from the intercom, cards 4600
Universal coded electronic lock AM 280 electromagnet mortise keypad, magnetic key fobs, cards 5730
Electromechanical motor lock "Dori-4" Classic electromotive overhead dial pad 9370

Thanks to a simple combination of electric locks with various types of control systems, it is possible to form an access system of any complexity, providing a high level of protection against burglary.

The possibility of remote opening or processing by the control system of wireless radio signals of various frequencies and the simplicity of design are the main advantages of electronic locks over mechanical ones. The simplicity of the arrangement of actuators and the versatility of control systems increase the reliability of systems built on their basis.

Sections of the article:

A high-quality and reliable locking mechanism for the front door is one of the most important elements in ensuring the security of a private house or apartment. The electronic door lock has recently become widespread and gained popularity among consumers. Such a mechanism can be located in any part of the perimeter of the door block, which allows you to hide its location from intruders. In addition, the electronic lock is not equipped with a keyhole.

As a rule, such locking mechanisms are opened using a plastic card, electronic key fobs or a personal code of the home owners. In addition, there are models of electronic locks that can only be opened using the owner's fingerprint.

Features, benefits, prospects

The main advantages of electronic door locks are ease of use and efficiency in protecting your home from burglars. The greatest reliability can be achieved in combination with such a locking mechanism and a high-quality metal front door. There are two types of electronic locks: electromechanical and electric, equipped with a magnetic carrier.

In addition to private country houses and city apartments, such locks are used on the front doors at checkpoints in office buildings or institutions. In addition, they can be effectively used in warehouses. Such locks are mortise in the door leaf and overhead.

It should be emphasized that it is almost impossible to crack such locking mechanisms. Even if such a lock is damaged or broken, then after that it will not work to open the door itself. The lock will lock and stop functioning. It will be possible to open a failed such mechanism only by using special professional tools. It will be by the way to say that such a feature of electronic door locks is both an advantage and a disadvantage. On the one hand, they cannot be opened to intruders, on the other hand, if the lock breaks, the owner of the premises will not be able to enter or exit it without the help of specialists from special services to open the doors.

Another advantage of electronic locks is that some models are equipped with so-called artificial intelligence. This refers to the presence in the design of the mechanism of time sensors that allow you to record when the visit was made to the premises. In addition, such locks can be programmed to implement various additional functions.

Electronic locks have a long service life and are rated as more reliable than other types of locking mechanisms. Despite a significant number of advantages, such mechanisms also have a number of disadvantages:

  • Insufficient resistance of electronic microcircuits inside the structure to mechanical damage;
  • The probability of failure in the operation of electronics due to a difference in atmospheric pressure indicators;
  • The presence in some models of the function of opening and closing with a password. This code can be forgotten by the owner of the premises or seen by a potential intruder.

The last drawback can be leveled by contacting specialists who are able to program the electronic lock to work with a new secret combination.

Types of electronic locks

To date, the range of electronic locks is represented by several main types. An electronic locking mechanism that opens with a plastic card is used, as a rule, on doors in hotels, cottages and office buildings. This type of locks is quite reliable and protects the premises from unauthorized access.

The electromechanical lock on the door can be opened in three ways. The first of these involves the use of keys and an electric drive mechanism. Such locks can be opened in the immediate vicinity of the door and at some distance. In addition, such locking mechanisms are opened using a secret combination. This is the so-called digital lock. Often, electromechanical locks are used on gates or put on the door of entrances.

Combination locking mechanisms are devices equipped with an electronic key. This type of locks is the most widespread today. Such devices are opened by a pair of keys or plastic cards and are the most reliable type of electronic locking systems. A feature of combined electronic locks is the inability to open them with only one of the keys. Only with the consistent use of all the opening devices provided for by the design of the system will it be possible to get inside the room or building.

The biometric electric lock on the front door can only be opened using the fingerprint of the hand, under which the locking mechanism is programmed. Such a system functions with the help of a sensor program for reading information. The absolute advantage of such locks is that the owner of the premises or building does not need to remember the secret combination or carry plastic cards and keys with them.

Invisible electronic locks are hidden from prying eyes and it is simply impossible to find them on the door leaf without the use of special equipment. The process of opening and closing the locking mechanism is carried out using the rotation of the bolt, which is driven by a gearbox and an electric motor. This design of the lock increases the security and reliability of the front door, contributes to its effective locking. The basis of invisible locking systems is a powerful deadbolt, the location of which an attacker simply cannot know. In the design of such a lock, there are no keyholes and no user interface. It unlocks at a distance of 1 to 10 meters.

It will be by the way to say that the electric lock on the front door can be installed independently with your own hands. First of all, this applies to overhead models, because in this case there is no need to embed the mechanism in the door. The advantages of electronic locks have already been appreciated by the owners of offices, warehouses, government agencies and industrial organizations. In addition, the great popularity of such mechanisms can be observed among the owners of private houses and city apartments.

Today, there are many models of electronic locks on the market of various price categories. The cost of such products depends on a number of factors. For example, the price of an electronic lock is affected by the ability of the device to synchronize with a mobile phone, the presence or absence of a display and keyboard, the range of remote opening, and the number of bolts. In addition, the cost of electronic locks depends on the connection to the general security system, the presence of an audible alarm about the battery discharge, the reliability of the lock and the resistance to an attempt to disable the device.

Operating principle

Electronic locks close the door with a bolt. To open the locking mechanism with a plastic card, the sensor must read information from it upon contact. Such cards are included with electronic locks and cannot be counterfeited. In addition, using a plastic card from another similar locking device will not work - they are not compatible.

When unlocking the electronic lock, you must press the door handle. At this moment, the spring is compressed and exerts pressure on the bolt, as a result of which the door opens. When the door leaf is closed, the reverse process occurs, that is, the spring is weakened and the bolt, releasing, is fixed between the leaf and the door frame. The bolt is controlled by electronic magnets or solenoids.

It should be emphasized that locks using solenoid control respond faster to a signal, so it is advisable to install them on entrance doors with several opening phases. When working with such systems, there is no need for keys. As a rule, they are equipped with a reading sensor and a plastic card.

It should be noted that when using electronic door locks, the opening speed is significantly increased compared to traditional mechanical locks with keys. In addition, the service life of a quality electronic locking system is practically unlimited. This is due to the less influence of corrosion and the rarity of failure. The structural elements of such locks almost never jam.

There are several sources of signal that the electronic lock on the door receives as a command to set the bolt in motion. So, it can be a plastic magnetic card, a contact memory sensor, a barcode or a biometric sensor. In addition, such a signal comes from the keypad for dialing the code located on the lock itself, the key fob or the remote control. Also noteworthy are fluorescent combinatorial molecular sensors. The last type of sensors appeared relatively recently and is not currently widely used in domestic use.

Is it safe to use such a lock?

It should be noted that most models of electronic door locks operate on a 220V electrical network, but the current strength may vary. This nuance must be taken into account when purchasing a power supply. Security experts recommend adding at least one more locking mechanism to an electronic door lock to increase reliability. At the same time, the principle of operation and design of the second and any other lock should differ from those of the main device.

It is important to emphasize that the electronic combination lock on the front door is equipped with a rechargeable battery, which is able to provide some time for the operation of the device even in the absence of a permanent electrical supply. When the battery is low, a notification will be sent to the mobile phone of the owner of the premises via SMS or an audible signal will sound.

Do not forget that even such reliable and progressive locking systems need periodic maintenance. This will extend the life of the electronic lock, increase the quality characteristics of its operation and, accordingly, protect the property of the owner of the premises. By the way, the use of electronic locks on the front doors often confuses intruders who are used to seeing traditional mechanical products in front of them. This can save valuable time and prevent break-ins and theft. In conclusion, it is worth noting that installing a high-quality electric lock on the front door is a progressive solution. A door with such a locking system will become a reliable barrier to intruders.

Electric locks for entrance doors perform the functions of locking devices controlled by applying or removing voltage to their actuating elements.

Quite often, these products are used in combination with video surveillance equipment, controllers, code devices and other security equipment. Together they form a system for monitoring and managing access to a room or territory.

Electric locks may differ in principle of operation, appearance and installation method, but they all have the same purpose - to prevent unauthorized persons from entering.

General information about locks powered by electricity.

Electric locks operate in one of two ways:

  • the first option - the possibility of opening the door appears when the power is turned off;
  • the second option - the door opens when voltage is applied.

In both cases, in order to avoid accidents associated with electric shock, a voltage not higher than 12 Volts or 24 Volts is used. This is quite enough for the device to perform its functions.

According to the principle of operation, the electric lock on the front door can be of the following type:

An electromagnetic or active magnetic lock on the front door works due to the mutual attraction of two structural elements under the influence of a magnetic field. One of the parts is fixed on the door leaf, the second - on the door frame. Being attracted, they create an inextricable connection, which is broken only when the power is turned off.

Electromechanical locks provide in their design, in addition to electrical circuits, the presence of mechanics, which ensures the operation of the product, both from the action of current and manually, using a key.

Each of the listed options is endowed with advantages and disadvantages, so they all need to be considered in more detail. As a separate type, there is a combination lock on the front door, which can have a purely mechanical design.

ELECTROMAGNETIC DOOR LOCK

This type of locking device has a simple design and is quite easy to install. Due to this feature, they are widely used and are often used in smart home systems.

The electromagnetic lock on the front door consists of three main parts:

  • an electromagnet, which is a core with a winding, installed on the luke of the front door;
  • reciprocal panel (anchor) - a metal plate fixed on the door itself;
  • a controller used to control the lock, placed in a convenient place for the user.

Such locks are of two types: tear-off and shear. The difference between them is not difficult to guess from the name. The principle of operation is based on the action of a magnetic field created by an electromagnet when power is supplied to it in the form of a constant voltage of 12 or 24 Volts.

The magnet attracts the anchor to itself, providing a powerful grip, with a holding force reaching several hundred kilograms. When the electrical circuit is broken, the lock opens. The power supply to the device is controlled by a controller and can be done by pressing a button, using a magnetic key, a card, or remotely. This significantly expands the scope of such structures.

Advantages and disadvantages of electromagnetic locks.

The main advantage of the product in question is the possibility of using it at a variety of objects, from the entrance doors of residential premises and offices, to the security entrances of industrial enterprises. In addition, each locking device that operates due to the electromagnetic field has the following advantages:

  • simplicity of design and installation, allowing installation by one's own hands;
  • a wide range of permissible ambient temperatures (-20°С-+50°С) and resistance to precipitation, allowing operation inside and outside buildings;
  • long working life due to the absence of moving and small fragile parts;
  • burglary resistance.

In addition, an active magnetic lock on the door has an additional advantage - affordability, which is important in the age of total savings.

But, along with positive qualities, electromagnetic products have one serious negative point - in the event of a general power outage, the front door remains open. This disadvantage excludes the use of electromagnetic locking devices at facilities with special security requirements.

On ordinary doors, this problem is solved by connecting an additional independent power source, as is done in smart home systems. Uninterruptible power supplies or various batteries can be used.

ELECTROMECHANICAL LOCK FOR FRONT DOOR

This type of locks does not have a disadvantage, like its counterpart with an electromagnetic principle of operation. In the event of a power outage, the user can always use the mechanical part of the lock with a key. According to the installation method, the electromechanical lock on the front door can be mortise or overhead.

In appearance, these locking devices are similar to conventional locks, but fundamentally differ in their design.

The executive body of the locks is a deadbolt, which is driven either by a conventional mechanical key or by an electromechanical device through the controller. This allows you to open and close the door remotely. There are several types of electromechanical products according to the method of locking the door:

  • electro blocking;
  • solenoid;
  • motor.

The work of the lock with electric blocking occurs due to a complex system of levers, springs and a latch driven by a solenoid. The latch position is normally closed. The mechanism works as follows:

  • when the door is closed, the latch enters the groove of the reciprocal plate and is held in it by a spring, which is blocked by a latch;
  • when voltage is applied, the solenoid attracts the armature to itself, lowers the latch and pulls the latch inward, allowing the door to be opened;
  • after opening and turning off the power, the latch slides out, taking up the working position.

Typically, such locks with electric interlocks are complemented by a key secrecy mechanism, which is opened both by a key and by applying voltage.

The electromechanical lock on the solenoid type front door has a simpler design. Their bolt is a continuation of the solenoid core and is drawn into the lock body under the action of an electromotive force that occurs when power is applied. They also open with a mechanical key.

Motor locks provide in their design for the presence of a small electric motor that drives the bolt.

Advantages and disadvantages of electromechanical locks.

This type of products for entrance systems has a number of disadvantages, but most of them relate to the comfort of use than to the performance of the structure:

  • when the door leaf is opened, the bolt sticks out of it, posing a threat in terms of hooking and tearing clothes or other property;
  • to install the lock on the door and its settings, special skills are required, or the help of a specialist;
  • high cost compared to mechanical counterparts;
  • slow operation of the crossbar for motor models.

These moments are able to "cast a shadow" on electromechanical locks, but their advantages can more than cover any disadvantages. The main one is the ability to use the locking device even in the absence of electricity.

  • possibility of remote control of input-output;
  • the mechanical part of the products has additional secrecy of the cylinders;
  • familiar appearance that does not attract undue attention;
  • the presence of a lock against unauthorized opening from the outside.

Many electromechanical locks have two or three bolts, which increases the resistance to burglary and the security of the room on the door of which they are installed.

MAGNETIC LOCK FOR INTERIOR DOOR

This type of locking devices does not have the qualities that are inherent in electromechanical analogues for entrance doors. But they are also reliable and functional. There are two types of magnetic lock on the interior door:

  • active action;
  • passive.

Passive type models work due to a movable magnetic crossbar. It retracts into the body under the action of the door handle. The counterpart, fixed on the door frame, has a metal base.

When the door is closed, the bolt is attracted to the metal and enters the recess on the box. To open the door, you need to turn the handle and return the actuator to its original position.

Active devices operate on the principle of electromagnetic locks and must be constantly energized to work. Opening is done by pressing a button on the door or remotely. This construction may seem inconvenient, but it is quite effective:

  • from the point of view of fire safety - in the event of a power outage, all doors become open;
  • in terms of protection - leaving the premises, the doors are blocked through the controller and become an insurmountable obstacle for intruders;
  • along the line of comfort - locks do not have protruding parts that can be hooked on.

The main advantage of magnetic locks for interior doors is their reliability and durability.
