Fiberboard plates. Advantages and disadvantages. Fiberboard boards: properties, applications, advantages Positive features of boards

Fiberboard slabs characteristics are actively used today for the construction of various residential buildings. Therefore, from this publication on Beton-Area, you can learn about this building material and understand all its main advantages.

Fiberboard slabs

Building material - fiberboard boards belong to the old generation building materials. But despite this, such a material for construction and decoration has not lost its popularity. It is worth saying that the production of fiberboard plates began when houses made of adobe bricks, straw and clay began to appear. It was at this time that specialists developed equipment for the production of fiberboard plates, which made it possible to produce durable products.

Fiberboard is a reliable and practical building material. The production of fibreboard in Russia is carried out: from wood chips, liquid glass of low concentration and Portland cement grade 500 and higher. Every component is essential for this material. And each of them must be told in more detail.

The main filler of this board is wood shavings. This component is also called "wood wool". For fibreboard, wood chips are used with a length of 150-500 mm and a thickness of 5 or 2 mm. This filler takes up 60 percent of the volume of any fiberboard. Wood shavings make the structure lighter and provide it with low thermal conductivity.

Another component of the fiberboard is cement, which occupies 40% of the volume. Such a component acts as a connecting element. Indeed, these plates must be durable and of high quality. In addition, they should not be afraid of transportation and long-term storage in absolutely any conditions.

And the last component that is added to the composition of fiberboard plates is water glass. Reduced sodium silicate or diluted stationery glue plays a large role. It turns out that this composition allows the wood chips not to enter into a chemical reaction with cement. Therefore, this component helps the products to work out the guaranteed service life.

Fiberboard application can be used at different stages of construction and finishing works. It is worth listing just some of the works in which this building material is successfully involved. So, fiberboard is used:

  • For internal insulation and sound insulation of apartments and houses.
  • For the organization of foundations of any complexity. In this case, this building material is organically poured into the tape.
  • For floor insulation.
  • For wall cladding of a frame house. Moreover, this material can be used for cladding interior and exterior walls.
  • To create structural members.

Advantages of fiberboard boards

Many are probably interested in the merits of such material. Therefore, the most important advantages of construction and finishing panels made of wood-cement-silicate should be cited.

  1. Such plates have a high degree of environmental friendliness. It has already been said above that the safest components are used to create these plates. Therefore, finished products do not in any way affect the state and health of a person.
  2. Fiberboard boards have a long service life. The durability of this material depends not only on the components, but also on the special manufacturing technology.
  3. These products have good deformation resistance. Everything is simple here. The fibers act as dampers, and the cement sheath provides the structure with superior strength.
  4. Fiberboard boards, when used, will provide the room with excellent heat and sound insulation. Indeed, in order to preserve heat in the house and isolate it from unnecessary noise, you just need to buy a fiberboard plate that will make any room comfortable for living.

All these advantages are considered especially important. But there are a number of other advantages of this building material. For example, fiberboard has good moisture resistance.

Moreover, such plates are very easy to install. This will require a minimal set of tools and additional help.

Fibrolite, as a building material, began to be used at the end of the 20s of the twentieth century and, in essence, has a lot in common with wood concrete.

For the manufacture of fiberboard required water, Portland cement, liquid glass (or technical calcium chloride) and wood chips - a tape with a length of half a meter. The presence of tape, and not sawdust, distinguishes fiberboard from wood concrete. It is the use of this wood strip that achieves high performance in terms of compressive and flexural strength. The tapes are impregnated with a solution of water glass or calcium chloride. The prepared raw materials are pressed in special forms and then dried. The density of the finished fiberboard is about 0.25-0.5 t / m ³ .

Finished fiberboard boards have standard geometric characteristics:

Length - 2400, 3000 mm;
width - 600, 1200 mm;
thickness - 30, 50, 75, 100, 150 mm.

● Depending on the dry density of the fiberboard, it is subdivided into three grades:

Heat-insulating F-300.
Heat-insulating and constructional F-400.
Soundproof F-500.

● Fiberboard plates are widely used in the construction of fixed formwork in monolithic construction: construction of private residential buildings with a small number of storeys; during work on reconstruction or repair of structures. When using fiberboard on the construction site, there is no need to place any lifting equipment. The low weight and well-known dimensions of the plates make it possible to reduce the labor intensity of technological processes. In order to create curvilinear complex shapes, ordinary cutting of fiberboard plates is performed.

Construction work with fiberboard are possible at rather low temperature conditions - the material has high thermal insulation qualities, which makes it possible to reduce the cost of constant heating of concrete during concrete work in winter.

● Due to the fact that fiberboard has good sound insulation characteristics, it can be used in the construction of floors and this will increase the degree of sound insulation of the room. Moreover, fiberboard plates protect not only from shock, but also from air noise effects. Also, fibreboard can be used as a sub-base for a finishing floor covering.

● Fiberboard plates are used in roof construction - they provide not only preparation of the plane for the roof, but also improve heat and sound insulation in general. The simplicity of installation work allows it to be used under a soft roof regardless of the season.

Fibrolite is used in the reconstruction of old roofs in typical multi-storey buildings, and a high level of fire safety makes it possible to melt roll coatings on the slab with an open flame.

● Due to the unique properties of fiberboard plates, they can be used in the construction of frameless interior partitions.

High fire resistance. Fiberboard plates are hard-to-burn materials.
Low thermal conductivity - the thermal conductivity coefficient is 0.08-0.1 W / (mˑK).
High moisture resistance of fiberboard boards.
Good soundproofing.
High biological resistance (for a material made using modern technologies).
Fiberboard slabs are easy to machine, which is convenient not only for hammering nails, but also for finishing work.
High bending strength, which allows the use of fiberboard plates when installing interior partitions.
The possibility of using fiberboard in combination with concrete, brick, wood.
Light weight - fiberboard is four times lighter than concrete.
High material transportability.
Acceptable cost.
Ease of installation of fiberboard plates allows you to reduce construction time.
Long service life - service life is 50-60 years.

● Provided that the fiberboard is exposed to temperature and humidity conditions during operation, it can collapse within a short period of time, which will significantly reduce the thermal insulation characteristics. With an increase in the cyclicity of freezing / thawing, negative processes in the material will also increase.

● Fibrolite, produced according to old technologies, is prone to fungal infection. Therefore, it is better to exclude the use of fiberboard plates in the construction of structures associated with a humid operating environment. Fiberboard boards should be used in rooms with a relative humidity of no more than 75%.

Fiberboard boards have gained popularity in the construction market. This material is a chipboard block.

Fiberboard composition

The described material is obtained by mixing wood shavings, which is a tape 50 centimeters long or more. In addition, the material contains both cement and water. Wood shavings in the production process are processed with calcium chloride and a solution of water glass. Then the resulting mixture is pressed, and then listened well. This allows the formation of slabs, which are called fiberboard.

Fiberboard technical features

Fiberboard plates can have different densities, respectively, during the production process they are assigned different markings. The material that is used as insulation has the M300 marking. Plates used for thermal insulation and construction are marked with M400 and M500 markings. A higher grade indicates an impressive density and poorer thermal conductivity. Thus, a higher grade is less suitable for use as an insulation material. Fibrolite structural plates are used for the construction of load-bearing walls, which indicates the possibility of using the material in the construction of houses. However, in the decoration of premises, the conditions of which are characterized by high humidity, it is not recommended to use this material, as it can be affected by fungus.

Slab dimensions

Fiberboard plates are available in different sizes. Thus, the length of the product can vary from 2 to 2.4 meters. The width varies from 50 to 60 centimeters. You can choose the material and thickness, this parameter varies from 5 to 10 centimeters.

Positive features of the plates

Fiberboard "Greenboard" can be used in different areas, depending on the marking. This material is used quite often, since it is quite easy to install. Plates repel water quite well, absorbing liquid in a minimal amount. This distinguishes this material from other wood-shaving counterparts. On such surfaces, plaster mixes adhere quite well. The lifespan of such products is long, they are environmentally friendly and fire resistant. When exposed to flame, the material does not burn.

Scope of use

If there is a need to carry out construction and repair work, you can consider fiberboard for this. Fiberboard plates can be used as permanent formwork. To equip such a structure, it is necessary to fix the plates on vertical racks, pouring a solution between them afterwards. The latter can be foam concrete or wood concrete. Due to the fact that fiberboard plates are not dismantled after the solution has solidified, they can act as an insulation material. A plaster layer can be applied to their surface for an aesthetic appearance.

Fiberboard plates, the properties of which are described in this article, are also used today in panel-frame construction of residential buildings. This material is used and, if necessary, the construction of internal partitions, as well as for arranging the roof, floor and wall decoration. If the material has a low density, then it is often used not only as insulation and for structural purposes, but also as an acoustic material. At the same time, the air humidity in the premises should not exceed 75 percent. The scope of use of fiberboard plates is quite wide, medium density products are used for sound insulation.

Comparison of expanded polystyrene with fiberboard

Cement fiberboard is often compared to expanded polystyrene. These materials are used in the same areas. Experts say that when compared with expanded polystyrene, fiberboard as a fixed formwork wins in terms of environmental friendliness, in addition, it is able to pass air. Fiberboard creates the possibility of building a breathable home. Among other things, it has a high fire resistance, its hazard class is defined as G1.

However, fiberboard loses in the initial thermal resistance. If we compare fiberboard with a density of 450 kilograms per cubic meter with expanded polystyrene with a density of 25-35 kg per cubic meter, then the first option has a thermal conductivity of 0.063 W / m * ° C, while the second - 0.035 W / m * ° C ... But fiberboard with a density of 200 kilograms per cubic meter has a density equivalent to 0.06 W / m * ° C.

Varieties of wood-cement materials

Wood-cement products act as a type of lightweight concrete. They use wood as a filler. Depending on what kind of filler is used in the material, as well as what is the ratio of cement and filler, physical and technical features will change. Cement particle boards, for example, are pressed boards made on the basis of pressed chips, which are treated with a binder in the form of cement. The second type of material is chip cement slabs, which are mineralized wood chips and cement. Cement fiberboard is an insulating building material that is obtained by forming slabs from a mixture of wood wool, liquid glass, and a binder in the form of Portland cement or white cement.

Unique characteristics of fiberboard

Long fibers allow the formation of a material that has a low density. The described material is the only material that consists of wood and cement and has similar characteristics. The looseness of the material, as well as the presence of air pores in its body, allows the use of low-density fiberboard as an effective insulation material. Among other things, the loose structure, low and medium density make the material an excellent sound absorber. This is especially true for impact noise.

Finally

When choosing fiberboard boards, you should carefully read their characteristics, since they have not only positive, but also negative properties. Among the latter, it is especially possible to highlight the possibility of damage to the material by a fungus and all kinds of harmful microorganisms. It can be quite difficult to get rid of them after the occurrence. These features of the material must be taken into account before purchasing.

Fiberboard is a multifunctional building material based on wood chips. Fiberboard has many useful properties of natural wood, but unlike wood, fiberboard is resistant to fire and is not subject to decay processes.

For the first time, fiberboard plates began to be developed at the beginning of the last century. Initially, they were made from shavings, sawdust, wood chips and various other waste from the woodworking industry. The first fiberboard plates were characterized by good heat and sound insulation, but had extremely low strength. Over time, the technology for the production of fiberboard has improved significantly.

Modern boards are made from fine wood wool from softwoods. The bonding element is cement, water glass or caustic magnesite. Fibrolite boards based on magnesite are considered the most environmentally friendly and currently have no analogues in the world.

Fibrolite boards, in principle, cannot be called a new building material. The technology of using cement and wood chips has been known for a long time, including the production of fiberboard. In addition to fiberboard boards, there is also DSP, in which chips and cement are also used, but the chips are crushed (chips).

Technologies are changing towards improvement. The standards issued in the days of the Union, which are still used, are becoming obsolete, and the material acquires new properties and areas of application. This fully applies to fiberboard plates.

Fiberboard history

The current GOST for this group of products has a revision of 81 years. It was developed by the relevant ministry of the USSR. In accordance with its standards, fiberboard plates are provided with three grades that determine the characteristics of the material:

  • F-300 (average density with a spread of 250-350 kg per cubic meter);
  • F-400 (351-450);
  • F-500 (451-500).

The first type is heat-insulating, the second is heat-insulating and structural, the third is in the first place, structural properties, it is named so - structural and heat-insulating. In addition, F-400 and F-500 are used for sound insulation. The standard stipulated dimensions, strength, water absorption and other characteristics.

Modern manufacturers have gone further: they have expanded the range of board densities, and therefore the scope of use. You can say they have delineated the boundaries more clearly. The density and size of the slabs are different, it depends on where they will be used:

  1. A material with a low index is more often used as a sound insulation material.
  2. Medium density slabs, mainly for fencing.
  3. For the construction of complex structures, fiberboard with a higher density is required.

An illustrative example is the plates produced on the equipment of the Dutch company ELTOMATION. They classify a low-density slab in the entire range of the domestic standard, and in addition produce two more categories of slabs: with a density of 600-800 kg / cubic meter. m and up to 1100 kg / cu. m.

Plates with the Green Board trademark are classified in three grades - GB1 (density 250–570), GB2 (600–800), GB3 (1000–1400).

Already from the characteristics of the density, it is clear that in addition to the scope of use specified in the domestic standard, brands have been added that can be used as construction and finishing materials. One could object: why invent something new for enclosing surfaces and cladding, because there is plywood , Chipboard and OSB, which have high strength characteristics. But fiberboard boards have a number of advantages over them.

Fiberboard dignity

Fibrolite as a heat-insulating material is inferior to expanded polystyrene or mineral wool, but in its pure form it is practically not used as a heater. If we evaluate the statistics, then 40% of the market consumption share both in our country and in Europe falls on fixed formwork. And in this capacity, fiberboard has a significant advantage over expanded polystyrene - it is incombustible (class T1) and has breathable properties.

Environmental Safety
Fiberboard has excellent environmental properties. It does not emit harmful toxic substances and is absolutely safe for humans.

Durability
Fibrolite does not deform, is not subject to the destructive effects of insects, rodents, mold, fungi and other microorganisms.

Good thermal insulation
Wood has been famous for its heat-shielding properties for a long time. Fiberboard, like natural wood, retains heat well.

Increased water resistance
Fiberboard has a high level of water resistance. Fiberboard boards can be installed in rooms with humidity up to 75%. In rooms with higher humidity, fiberboard boards are recommended to be protected from moisture using plaster or waterproofing.

Fire safety
Fiberboard has a very high resistance to fire

Since the characteristics of the boards are high, its application in the construction industry is very high. The production of fibreboard has been around for many years, but over time the process has undergone significant changes, and the material has become of better quality. Let's summarize the advantages, the material has the following technical characteristics:

  1. Fire safety. Thanks to the astringent impregnation, the wood product becomes capable of this property.
  2. Moisture resistance. Again, due to the impregnating layer, the material copes well with water ingress.
  3. Strength. Fiberboard owes this quality to wood and a layer of cement.
  4. Resistant to decay and pests.
  5. Increased sound insulation.
  6. Ecological cleanliness.
  7. Excellent resistance to cold temperatures.
  8. Long term of the operational period.
  9. Ease of transportation. Since fiberboard is not very heavy, heavy equipment is not required for this.
  10. Ease of installation.

The rest of the market is for panel-frame (20%) and panel construction (40%). Compared to plywood, OSB and chipboard, fiberboard boards do not contain phenolic resins, so they win in environmental friendliness.

Breathability and self-regulation of humidity (absorption in excess and recoil in case of lack) ensure a comfortable home environment. And, of course, an important indicator is high fire safety.

General advantages as a building material - high durability, resistance to water (wood is "bound" with mineral additives), good adhesion to building mixtures (plaster, putty), primers and paints.

Where are fiberboard boards used?

Fiberboard plates have standard dimensions and low weight, so you can work with them without the involvement of heavy lifting equipment. Fiberboard slabs are also actively used for insulation and soundproofing of interior and exterior walls, sloped roofs, attics, interior partitions and inter-floor ceilings.

Since wood chips are added during the production of the material, the strength increases significantly, therefore, fiberboard is often used during monolithic construction of buildings. In addition, it is used by:

  • for low-rise construction of houses as formwork;
  • as when laying an insulating layer;
  • as a finishing sheathing on which finishing will be applied in the future;
  • as soundproofing.

Use of fibreboard in monolithic construction

It is possible to reduce costs in the construction of a monolithic house thanks to fiberboard, from which permanent formwork is often constructed. These structures are easy to install, in addition, it is possible to resolve the issue of home insulation. Fiberboard slabs are often used in the construction of panel-frame houses. Due to their structural properties, fiberboard plates are ideal for the construction of permanent formwork.

Fiberboard slabs are used to build various types of structures. For this, the material is cut to the required dimensions, then, according to the project, the formwork is laid.

The use of fiberboard is most advisable in urban conditions, since it will protect against noise that causes considerable discomfort.

Manufacturing technology and composition

The process consists of mixing wood shavings with a water base and some additives. For this, liquid glass or office glue in a diluted state is added to the shavings. This is necessary so that no chemical reaction occurs between the components.

Initially, wood wool is impregnated, for this a special knitting mixture is used. A cement compound acts as a binder. After that, the material is poured and pressed into molds.

Such high properties are inherent in the composition, structure and manufacturing technology. Fibrolite is 60% wood, almost 40% cement, also in the composition of no more than a half-percent mineral additive. Three main factors can be distinguished; they distinguish fiberboard from other wood-based materials:

  • at the first stage - the production of especially thin and long shavings, which are called wood wool;
  • on the second - the mineralization of wood (for example, liquid glass) to "close" the access of water to the tree;
  • at the third stage - the horizontal orientation of the wood wool in the process of making the board.

Wood and cement are environmentally friendly materials. Mineralization protects against moisture. The structure of the slab provides a sufficiently high fracture strength. By adjusting the density of the slab, a certain set of basic operational properties is achieved - thermal insulation, sound insulation, structural strength.

There are many other advantages of fiberboard compared to other building materials. Despite the fact that fiberboard is a relatively young building material, due to its unique properties and low cost, it is becoming more and more widely used in modern building practice. Watching the video:

This article will serve as a help for those developers who want to build a house with their own hands inexpensively. The construction of a residential building on a new plot of land has several main stages, each of which is of great importance. The very first thing that needs to be done on a new building site is to plan it correctly.

Planning and preparation of the construction site

House project

For the reason that the new residential building will play the role of the most basic building throughout the construction site, its location is quite important. For this reason, a residential house, which should be built only with your own hands, must be located exactly in the place of the construction site in which it will be located in its place. To do this, you can use your own imagination or use the services of an experienced designer planner.

In addition to the fact that your preferences will be required for the correct layout of the building site, do not forget about the building codes that provide for the correct location of a residential building on the site. These requirements include the distance from the boundaries of the plot to the house, as well as the total distance from the new residential building to the residential building on the neighboring plot. All this should be indicated in a special project of the site, without which it is simply impossible to build a residential building of any type with your own hands.

This project will include the location not only of a residential building, but also of all outbuildings that should be located on this plot of land. The finished project must be certified by specialized authorities, and only after that proceed with the preparation of the construction site and the construction itself. Do not forget about the necessary supply of all the required communications, which can be quite expensive.

It is necessary to pay attention to such nuances even when the acquisition of a construction site is carried out, because there are areas to which it is simply impossible to bring one or another type of communications, which will cause additional costs for organizing an alternative option. If all the nuances are taken into account, the site is purchased, and the plan is drawn up, you can start preparatory work. Preparatory work is divided into two main phases: clearing the building site and planning the site for a residential building.

The clearing and preparation of the construction site is carried out with your own hands, while for the correct planning of the construction site it is better to invite a specialist. The fact is that the planning of a construction site is not only about determining the place where you can build a residential building of any type with your own hands. It is necessary to determine the condition of the soil at the construction site, and, if necessary, remove excess moisture from the soil, while organizing drainage systems.

Residential building project

A high-quality project is needed not only by the construction site, but also by the house itself. In the event that a residential building is built without a proper project, certified by the architectural authorities, such a construction is not legal, which may even lead to the demolition of the house. Therefore, the project of a residential building should be given special attention.

House wall insulation

A residential building project can be purchased in two ways: buy a ready-made construction project or order the production of such a project according to your approximate drawings. The first option is considered an order of magnitude cheaper, because the architect does not have to make new calculations. Among the finished projects of a residential building, you can choose exactly the one that suits you in all respects.

But if you are still going to order a new house project, then it is worth considering the additional costs of the construction budget that will be required to pay for such work. The advantage of acquiring such a project can be considered the fact that the entire residential building will be planned exactly as you imagined it. In addition, you can boast to your friends and acquaintances that your home has no analogues.

House foundation

The foundation is considered one of the most important and crucial parts of not only a residential building, but also any other building. The reliability and durability of the entire residential building depends on how well and correctly this building element is made. Many novice builders make irreparable mistakes when organizing the foundation structure.

So, you should start with the right type of foundation structure, which will be made with your own hands. As a rule, strip or columnar types of foundation structures are used for the construction of residential buildings. The choice of the right foundation depends not only on the preferences of the builder, but also on the condition of the soil at the construction site and the building material from which the house itself will be built.

If a residential building is planned from a light wooden building material, then the foundation can be made of a columnar type, which is quite inexpensive compared to a monolithic strip foundation. But if the house is brick, which directly affects the total weight of the structure, then the foundation will need a monolithic or prefabricated tape type. The choice of a monolithic or prefabricated foundation of this type rests only on the construction budget, because for the construction of a residential building with 1-2 floors, there is no significant difference in these types of foundation.

The prefabricated strip foundation consists of individual reinforced concrete blocks, which are manufactured in special enterprises and delivered to the construction site. The main disadvantage of such a building material can be considered a rather large weight of each individual block, which leads to the involvement of special heavy construction equipment. A monolithic foundation can be made with your own hands.

So, it is necessary to start the construction of a strip foundation by digging a foundation ditch, which must first be accurately marked. The depth of the foundation structure is indicated in the project of a residential building, which must be ready at the time of construction of the foundation structure with your own hands. Do not forget that before starting the construction of this building element, it is necessary to bring the required amount of sand, crushed stone and cement to the construction site, which will allow not to be distracted from construction work due to a lack of building material.

When the foundation moat is ready, it must be prepared for the foundation. To do this, you need to organize a high-quality sand pillow. Sand is poured into a foundation ditch about 25 centimeters thick, after which, with the help of a rammer and water, it is compacted to maximum density. Further work can be carried out only after the sand dries out.

After that, it is necessary to build a removable formwork, which will be designed for the basement elevation of the foundation structure. This formwork is best made from a flat edged board and twisted with wood screws. All this will make it easy to remove the formwork after partial drying of the concrete solution.

The next stage in the construction of the foundation is the reinforcement of the structure. Reinforcement is performed in two layers so that at least 50 millimeters of free space remains from the reinforcement to the edge of the foundation ditch. After making the reinforcing frame, you can start pouring the foundation with concrete.

The concrete solution for the strip foundation is made according to the proportions 1x3x5, where 5 shares of medium crushed stone, 1 share of cement and 3 shares of clean sand. To make a concrete solution, you will need a mobile concrete mixer, because the process of pouring the foundation is best done in one day. This will help the foundation structure to be completely monolithic, without risking the structure splitting under heavy loads on the house's supporting frame and roof structure.

Walls and roof of the house

The construction of the load-bearing walls of the house should be started only after the foundation is completely dry. Ideally, the foundation should be allowed to stand for the whole winter and spring. During this time, the foundation will find its place (somewhere it will sit down, and somewhere it will rise), which will help bring it to the desired level and prevent excessive shrinkage of the house.

The thickness of the walls and the optimal building material from which you can build the walls of the house with your own hands is indicated in the project of the house. In order to build a roof with your own hands, you need to build on not only the project of the house, but also from those weather conditions that are noted in this construction area. Not only the choice of roofing material, but also the choice of the required roof slope depends on how strong winds prevail in the construction area.

Do not forget about the fact that in order to build a roof with your own hands, you will need the skills of high-rise and roofing work. The slightest oversight in the organization of roofing work can lead to injury or the organization of a poor-quality roofing structure. But by and large, in order to build a roofing system you do not need to be a professional builder, it is enough to follow the basic recommendations of building codes.

We use fiberboard

Fibrolite, as a building material, has been known for a long time.

Fiberboard slabs for home

It was invented in the twenties of the last century, although its name was different at that time.

Over time, it has changed several times, maybe someone remembers arbolite, then this is one of the varieties of fibrolite. The main raw material for the production of fiberboard is wood chips or wood wool and Portland cement, less often a magnesian binder is added instead of cement. Fiberboard is a special board that has found wide application in the construction industry, for example, fixed formwork made of fiberboard has become widespread.

Production technology

Fiberboard production technology is not very complicated. Wood wool is obtained on machines, it looks like long narrow shavings.

Then it is mineralized with calcium chloride or liquid glass, sometimes sulphurous alumina is used. The treated wool is then mixed with cement and water. The resulting mass is molded under low pressure, and the resulting slabs are steamed in special chambers. And the last stage is drying. Fiberboard is ready.

Scope and performance

Variety of fiberboard materials

Currently, in terms of the versatility of use, fibrolite has nothing to compare with. It is used in many construction processes, these are:

  • And roof installation;
  • And the device of partitions;
  • And formwork installation;
  • And so on.

The list is long enough. In addition, fiberboard is considered one of the cheapest building materials, which does not require much physical effort during its installation, because fiberboard is lightweight.

There are a lot of positive qualities that fiberboard plates have:

  • High strength;
  • Low thermal conductivity;
  • High rate of sound absorption;
  • This material does not rot;
  • Fibrolite is not damaged by rodents and insects;
  • Well susceptible to processing (driving in nails, cutting, drilling);
  • Fiberboard perfectly combines with any building materials;
  • The service life is long;
  • This material is not flammable, which is very important.

As you can see from the above list, fiberboard is a versatile building material that does an excellent job with many functions. It is especially necessary to note its properties, which characterize fiberboard as an excellent heat and sound insulating material.

Fiberboard house

But now, with the advent of the latest technologies in the construction industry, fiberboard plates are increasingly being used in the installation of fixed formwork used in residential construction.

Today, fiberboard formwork is one of the fastest, most reliable and inexpensive ways to build country houses. In addition, the fiberboard is not removed, but remains as part of the structure of the house, performing some functions, such as thermal insulation of basements. Installing fiberboard formwork is a simple process and can be done quickly, just like installing a wooden formwork.

Also, fiberboard plates are used when installing the lathing under the roof. This material is strong enough and copes well with bearing loads. It can also be laid under roll roofing materials, thereby creating a layer of thermal insulation and leveling the surface of a flat roof.
