Show your creative abilities, develop them in your child with the help of self-designing doll furniture. This lesson will allow you to get closer to the child, help him discover the abilities of the designer. Here are some easy options.

How to make a doll bedside table with drawers

You will need:

  • Several boxes of matches according to the number of boxes.
  • Cardboard tape, the width of which can cover the desired number of boxes.
  • Shiny foil.
  • Scissors, glue.
  • Several golden plastic beads according to the number of boxes.

Take the boxes, fold them together lengthwise. You should get a table of the planned height. A few pieces can be removed or added, depending on the final idea. Glue the parts of the boxes stacked in a row. Take the cardboard, bend it in the right places, completely wrap it around the side that does not have boxes. Then glue the cardboard. In the finished version, carefully cut its edges with scissors and proceed to the decor.

Decorating a glamorous bedside table can be different. If you cover it with shiny colored paper, similar to multi-colored foil, then there will be a glamorous look, especially if it is crimson, silver, gold. If you want the bedside table to look like a real one, then use imitation wood, colored wallpaper with small patterns or paper similar to them. It is sold in children's art stores.

Gently straighten the paper, apply glue to the wrong side. Spread it so that the foil becomes even. Then glue the back, side with paper, level it until it dries. This is done by the side of the ruler or by a blunt turn of the knife. Boxes can be decorated completely or partially. You need to stick paper on the retractable part, and if you want it to become completely colored, you can extend it and paste it with paper on the outside or inside. The paper also needs to be flattened.

When it dries, proceed to the handles. Take a bead, drop glue on its base. Attach it to the middle of the drawer drawer. Do the same with the rest of the beads, which should be in an even row. They can be replaced with voluminous self-adhesive rhinestones. When they dry, the nightstand is ready.

Doll coffee table

A beginner can do it. You will need:

  • Square or elongated box of cream, soap.
  • Thick tape, scissors.
  • Colored paper like foil.
  • Glue.

Take a cardboard box. Cut out the front and back of it. Then glue it with large tape from the inside, then from the outside. It is important that it lies without folds - the attractiveness of the product will depend on this. Then start decorating.

Carefully cut the paper to fit the width of the box. Then stick it on a layer with tape. Paper with a self-adhesive layer is most suitable, on which you need to carefully apply glue, smooth the layer until it dries. Remove glue residue, dry the paper.

This piece of furniture is used as a coffee table for Barbie or a hanging cabinet that is glued to the wall of the house or put several products in one row. And if you combine it with glamorous nightstands, you get a beautiful closet for Barbie. A few more elements need to be added to it. Then furniture for dolls will be stylish and glamorous. She can furnish a room in one style.

Wardrobe for dolls

You will need:

  • 1, 2 bedside tables (see "How to make a bedside table").
  • 6 coffee tables for Barbie (see "Coffee table for Barbie").
  • Large cardboard for the back wall.
  • Cardboard for the cabinet door (this can be part of the cream box).
  • Beads according to the number of doors.
  • Silver foil that looks like a mirror.
  • Scissors, glue and tape.

First, place the boxes over the area of the cardboard. It will be the back wall of the cabinet. Place the matchboxes in a row in the middle. Having determined the right amount and proportions, get to work. Make a bedside table with drawers, as in the description. The table, as a shelf in the closet, needs some work. If at first it was necessary to cut out the front and back, now the back is cut out, and the front serves as a cabinet door. It doesn't need to be cut. Cut it to cut from three sides without cutting the door, and paste over with colored paper outside and inside.

When choosing details, it is important that all boxes are the same height and width, then it will look nice and neat. When you have decided on the number of elements, cut off the excess. Get to work.

Define an empty space. It must be pasted over in advance with silver foil imitating a mirror. You can also paste a beautiful picture. It depends on personal taste. In one set, experts do not recommend using two shiny textures, and if you make all the bedside tables and cabinets from raspberry shiny fabric, replace the mirror part with a beautiful photo. Paste it ahead of time. Hide the edges of the picture behind the cabinets.

When all the details are ready, glue them to the back wall. If you want the doors to close easily, attach a sticker or padlock to them. One part is attached to the door, the other to the side wall. They are made from hook-and-loop fasteners. They hold the door securely.

In addition to cabinets, tables and bedside tables, upholstered furniture is also made for Barbie. For example, a folding sofa. Such furniture for modern dolls will look bright and beautiful. Yes, and the material for design depends on your imagination. Here's how to do it.

Folding sofa for Barbie

You will need:

  • A large piece of thick cardboard.
  • Several sponges for dishes, the same size.
  • stapler.
  • Black velvet material.
  • Upholstery material.
  • Ribbon and Velcro.
  • Scissors, glue and ruler.

Glue the sponge to the cardboard. Cut it to size. Do the same with the rest of the sponges. You will get three identical pieces. Wrap them with material and secure with a stapler from below. Then take the material slightly smaller than the size of the piece and stick it on the surface from the inside, hiding the traces of fixing. Before us are three identical parts.

We process the back. Cut it out of cardboard, put the material on top. Secure with a stapler. Stick the velvet material on the fastening.

Lay the mattresses on top of each other and apply to the back. Then glue the bottom mattress and secure with tape. Attach it around the entire perimeter of the mattress and secure at the back with glue. Then wrap the tape around the top mattress. Spread the glue over the surface, except for the middle, which will be a loop. She is being pulled to unfold the sofa. The tape does not need to be glued to the wall, because it is fixed at the back with Velcro.

The sofa is ready. To unfold it, open the Velcro and pull the loop. Then carefully fold and use.

Fairy glamor chairs for dolls

They are easy to make from a regular can of Coca-Cola, Fanta or Sprite. To do this, cut the jar into many thin strips. It is better if someone adult does this, as it is easy to cut yourself on the edges of the jar. When the jar is cut, you need to direct part of the strips up (about 1/4 of the entire mass), and all the rest down. Then divide the bottom strips by the number of legs and get to work.

Measure the number of strips that will go on each leg, then start twisting them on the sides. At the same time, the middle leg should remain the longest leg, since it will become the main support of the leg, which sets its length. You can twist the strips in different directions, symmetrically or asymmetrically, depending on your design. When all the legs are ready, you can proceed to the back. It needs to be twisted in the same way as the legs, from the edges to the middle, after which you can proceed to the decor.

The chair looks incomplete without a seat. For him, you need to cut the sponge in diameter, carefully rounding the top. Cover with material and fix on the underside with glue. It is better to use superglue that fixes metal surfaces. When the seat is dry, apply glue again to the surface, attach to the seat of the chair. It dries up and you're done.

A few chairs will allow you to create fantastic attributes of a magical castle. The main emphasis of the design of the chairs depends on the color and texture of the upholstery of the seat. The darker, the more mystical options you will make. Dark shades of purple, emerald or blue are more suitable for Monster Hite magic dolls than for a glamorous Barbie or a good fairy. Pink, cream, red tones will create a glamorous or vintage piece, complemented by a round silver table with a leg, and colorful fabric will create a unique vintage flavor.

Floor lamp for dolls

You can make it from aluminum wire and a lampshade. It is made from threads, special beads for decoration or a lace frame.

Beads can be bought at craft stores. They come in different sizes, but wicker ones are suitable for work. They will allow you to create a floor lamp in the style of "country". For glamour, lace lampshades are more suitable. They do it that way.

A cone is made from cardboard or thick paper. Then lace is glued on it. If desired, you can fix them with pearl-tipped needles, then the lampshade will look glamorous. Then let's move on to the frame.

To do this, you need to bend the wire at the bottom and string a thin rod on it. From above, straighten the ends in different directions and put a lampshade on them. Fasten it. The floor lamp is ready and you can put it in the dollhouse. It will suit any design and will be an indispensable decoration. Especially if it's a bedroom, a lounge or even a balcony of Barbie and her friends.

This is not all furniture for dolls that you can make with your own hands. But it will allow the child to unleash their creative potential, becoming a stepping stone to creating masterpieces.

Do-it-yourself doll furniture, photo:

The desire of the child to play with dolls must be encouraged and supported. Do-it-yourself doll furniture will be an excellent tool for rapprochement between the older and younger generations. A variety of furnishings that copy an adult interior contribute to the development of a child's imagination and logical thinking. Dare, create, and the dollhouse will turn into a small masterpiece.

Variety of doll furniture

Doll furniture sets amaze with their variety and elegance. It is easiest to buy a ready-made kit, but it is much more interesting to make miniature furniture for dolls with your own hands. In addition to the standard interior elements in the form of a bed, chair and table, almost any item can be made from improvised materials. The main thing is to be smart and allocate some free time. Kitchen and bedroom sets are most often found in a set for playing with dolls. But the child will be delighted with the desk, floor lamp and bath.

The complexity of making doll furniture is determined by the material chosen as the basis. Dimensions must match the height of the doll. It is very easy for little babies to make furniture based on matchboxes. The hostess of the dolls herself is often involved in the process. For larger copies, cardboard and plywood are chosen.

Improvised materials that are often used in the manufacture of do-it-yourself doll furniture are presented in the following list:

  • Plywood sheets. The most durable option for decorating doll furniture. Processing plywood sheets is not for everyone and often requires the possession of a jigsaw. But the doll furniture, which came out from under the hands of the master, is striking in its sophistication.
  • Thick cardboard. It is much easier to process, a school-age child can work with it on their own without the help of adults. Often, ready-made cardboard boxes are selected as the basis for doll furniture.
  • Match boxes. Ideal for a miniature dollhouse, where the main resident is small.
  • Plastic containers for cosmetics. Do not rush to throw away an elegant jar after the cream and the container from under the shampoo. Perhaps they will be transformed into an elegant ottoman or a comfortable doll chair. Even a small plastic bottle can become the basis for a chair. The following video demonstrates how to make a comfortable toilet.
  • Viscose napkins and sponges for dishes. They are used to decorate the soft part of doll furniture.
  • Egg container, wire, beads, skewers. This list is endless. The choice of additional elements depends on the complexity of the puppet design and the desired decor.

Exclusive sets of furniture for dolls, decorated by wood craftsmen, are shown in the photo:

Chair manufacturing options

There are several ways to make a comfortable doll chair. The choice of material depends on the dimensions of the doll, whether you have a desire to involve a child or you will arrange everything with your own hands. The presented options differ in complexity, so everyone will be able to choose the most suitable piece of furniture for themselves.

Model 1

For work you will need:

  • cardboard 1.0-1.5 mm thick;
  • foam board about 5 mm thick, it can be replaced by 3 mm corrugated cardboard;
  • thick white paper;
  • tube Ø 15-25 mm, for doll furniture a thread tube or marker body is suitable;
  • thin foam rubber or fleece;
  • upholstery fabric;
  • glue, scissors, pencil, ruler.

Algorithm for making a doll chair with your own hands:

Comment! The external aesthetics of the doll chair and any other furniture depends on the finish. Therefore, take care of a beautiful upholstery material.

Cut out the upholstery elements according to the previously prepared drawing, only make allowances of 15 mm. Before making out the back, it is initially closed on one side with foam rubber. This element can be made removable or stationary. Making a pillow for doll furniture with your own hands is even easier, the steps repeat the algorithm with the back.

The work, of course, is painstaking, but the result deserves admiration.

Model 2

You can make a chair for a doll even simpler. The base is a small cardboard box. Based on the size of the base, a foam rubber blank is cut out, which will simultaneously be the back and armrests. Tape will help secure it to the seat. The chair is decorated with upholstery fabric, complemented by a miniature pillow. If you take the box not square, but oblong, a chic doll sofa will come out.

Model 3

A plastic bottle can become a frame for furniture. After cutting the workpiece, it is sheathed with a cloth. For stability, the inside is filled with something heavy. In order for the furniture to correspond to the ideas about the chair, a pillow and a soft seat are prepared. You can make a small chair from a 0.5 liter bottle or take a larger container, then it will be something like a throne.

If there is a desire to make a puppet rocking chair, we offer a diagram of an interesting design for study. You will need experience with a jigsaw, reliable and durable furniture is made of plywood.

Bed design methods

Playing with dolls often turns into a real spectacle when the beloved Barbie is already a mother herself, and her little child needs a crib. Matchboxes with cardboard are an affordable and free material to make a doll bed. The whole process consists of three steps:

  • glue 2 boxes;
  • backs are cut out of cardboard;
  • for beauty, doll furniture is pasted over with colored paper.

Instead of cardboard, legs can be made from ice cream sticks.

It is not much more difficult to make a bed with drawers. To do this, matchboxes are glued in 2 layers. From the side that will be used as a box, beads are glued or fastened with wire. After connecting with the backs, the furniture is decorated with paper. Additionally, it is desirable to sew bedding.

A small bed can be made from cardboard sheets:

  • Initially, they print the proposed drawing or draw it on their own.
  • Details are cut out of paper, then transferred to cardboard or plywood.
  • Assemble an interesting design of doll furniture.

Comment! If plywood is used in the work, the edges of the blanks are carefully polished so that the child does not get hurt during the game.

Sofa, chest of drawers and desk

Plywood is the most suitable material to make doll furniture. Like a bed, you can make an exclusive doll sofa out of plywood.

Manufacturing master class:

  • We draw up a drawing of the future sofa, the diagram includes a seat, armrests, backrest. It is important to consider that the side elements and the backrest determine the stability of the furniture.
  • The drawing on paper is transferred to plywood.
  • Details are cut with an electric jigsaw.
  • A doll sofa is a soft part of the furniture, so the blanks are wrapped with thin foam rubber and decorated with upholstery fabric.
  • Connect individual elements of doll furniture with carnations.

The order of operations can be slightly changed. First, the elements of the plywood puppet sofa are fixed together with Moment glue. The finished sofa is varnished and small soft pillows are sewn onto it.

You can make a sofa according to the principle of an armchair, model 1. If you try hard, you will get a masterpiece that is close to the model in the photo:

It is somewhat easier to make a chest of drawers from matchboxes. The main stages of the creative process:

  • Matchboxes are coated inside and out with paint.
  • When the blanks are dry, they are glued together in a vertical order.
  • The contour of doll furniture is sheathed with braid. It will be beautiful and give the chest of drawers strength.
  • Beads attached to the bottom act as legs.
  • It is also desirable to equip each drawer with beads for ease of use of doll furniture.

Photo collage demonstrates the process of making do-it-yourself doll furniture and the result.

Matchboxes are a kind of constructor, extremely affordable and with an unlimited resource of crafts. A desk or desk is another example of doll furniture that is easy for a child to make on their own.

Key moments of creativity:

  • three matchboxes are fixed vertically to each other;
  • pre-future boxes are equipped with beads on a wire;
  • the function of the second leg of the table can be performed by a matchbox without insides;
  • both elements of doll furniture (fastened boxes and a leg) are connected with cardboard using glue;
  • the workpiece is painted or pasted over with colored paper.

An approximate result of the work is shown in the photo:

An easy way to make kitchen furniture

First, consider a simple option, how to make kitchen cabinets from matchboxes. The lower part is formed from 9 elements according to the principle of a chest of drawers. The function of the handles can be performed by staples from the stapler. For hanging cabinets 3, the box is fixed on a cardboard wall and cut in the middle to make doors. Of course, it is better to paste over the boxes with paper or paint in advance. Naturally, the entourage plays a big role:

  • Complete your dollhouse kitchen with mini lights.
  • Decorate the window with a lace curtain.
  • You can make a sink out of foil.

Doll furniture will sparkle with new colors. You can complement the kitchen set with a table and chairs made of cardboard.

We will not describe complex options on how to make doll furniture for the kitchen out of plywood. Imagine only the result of the painstaking work of the master:

Floor lamp and chandelier

To make a cute doll floor lamp, you will need quite a bit:

  • The basis of the lampshade can be thick cardboard or suitable caps from perfumes.
  • rod from the handle;
  • lace;
  • wire.

If there is no lid, we prepare the base for the lampshade from thick cardboard. We glue the workpiece with lace. The wire is passed through the rod. A lampshade is fixed on the upper edge of the rod, and a stand is fixed on the lower edge.

Comment! In order for the floor lamp to gain stability, the stand must be wider than the lampshade and heavy.

An interesting and easy way to make a floor lamp in addition to doll furniture is presented in the video:

Similarly, you can make a chandelier for a dollhouse. The basis of the lampshade is a small container. Decorative candle molds fit perfectly. The chandelier will be attached to the wire. The lampshade is decorated with lace. If you involve dad in creativity, you can make a luminous chandelier. To do this, an LED is fixed inside the lampshade.

DIY furniture for dolls can be simple and intricate designs. When choosing material for crafts, they are guided by their own experience and the availability of free time. Crafts can be done by adults or in tandem with children, it will be much more interesting. A school-age child is able to cope with the task of making doll furniture from matchboxes or cardboard on their own.

Parents who have already been able to make a dollhouse on their own or bought it in a store, while spending a significant amount, are thinking about how to make furniture for dolls with their own hands. Toy furniture is not cheap, so why not save the family budget. You can easily make it with your own hands from improvised means.

Floor lamp

For manufacturing you will need:

We bend the wire in half and pass it through the rod. From above, we fasten the lampshade to the wire, from below to the lid - to give stability to the floor lamp. The lid can be decorated with a lace skirt. Instead of a rod, you can use beads as a stand by passing the wire through them. In this case, we also decorate the lampshade with beads.

Watch the video for a master class on making doll furniture from old boxes.

Chandelier

To make a chandelier, we need a small container. You can use measuring cups for medicines, disposable plastic piles, the simplest candles in a metal case.

To decorate the chandelier, you will need strips of lace, thin strips of satin ribbon. They need to glue the plastic base of the chandelier. The metal case can not even be decorated, you get the original chandelier. We attach an LED to the base of the container that we used, if you thought over a house with real lighting. We hang it from the ceiling. The method of fastening to the ceiling will depend on the materials from which the house is made.

Thus, you can make lamps in any room of your dollhouse.

dollhouse kitchen

For the manufacture of the kitchen will be convenient to use small boxes. If there are no such boxes, then it will be necessary to make them from cardboard. It is quite easy to do this. It will be convenient to use if the boxes are glued together, making a single structure.

If hanging cabinets are planned near the kitchen, then we glue a sheet of cardboard to the back wall of the cabinets, on which we paste these cabinets. You can strengthen the structure by gluing long flat sticks to the back of the cardboard sheet. In boxes it is necessary to cut through the doors of the lockers.

To decorate our kitchen, we use self-adhesive paper, or any other beautiful paper. We glue the cabinets, with the help of wire and beads we make handles for them. A faucet can be made from wire, mixer handles from small beads. The sink has a deep lid. We attach it to the tabletop. Stove burners can be made from buttons. You can decorate the space between the cabinets in the form of a tiled apron. To do this, find a suitable picture on the Internet and print it. Stick it on a sheet of cardboard on which the cabinets are fixed.

We arrange dishes and products. The kitchen is ready, you can send the hostess to cook!

You can see a master class on making a kitchen in the next video.

  1. We measure the required height of the table on the box so that the doll is comfortable to sit at it.
  2. We cut off the excess.
  3. The base of the table is the bottom of the box. From the part that is located below, cut out the legs.
  4. Paste the resulting table with self-adhesive paper
  5. On cardboard, draw the desired shape of the mirror and cut it out. We stick the foil as a mirror surface.
  6. We decorate the frame of the mirror with the help of thin strips of the ceiling plinth.
  7. Glue the mirror to the table.

We make a dressing table chair in the same way. Change only the required height. Instead of a mirror surface, we make the back of a chair.

The first thing you should pay attention to is the kitchen equipment. After all, the kitchen for girls is mother's temple. Mom cooks there for the whole family, and that is why, in a dollhouse, it is worth starting the arrangement from the kitchen.

Look at the photo above, such a homemade dollhouse slab toy is easy to make from paper or ceiling tiles.

You don’t even need drawings of a toy - just take it and make it to the scale of a makeshift doll house.

And this DIY dollhouse furniture is made of cardboard. It would seem that it is a cheap material to be discarded, but, nevertheless, it can be reused and made into real masterpieces.

By the way, I’ll give you a little hint - the “facing” for homemade dollhouse furniture can be printed on a regular inkjet printer on self-adhesive paper, and then cut and pasted onto cardboard or ceiling tiles. In this case, you can use the drawings of real furniture, simply reducing their scale in Photoshop or any other graphic image editor program.

You can also make antique antique furniture, such furniture will give the dollhouse a very serious entourage.

But, here you have to work hard, ceiling tiles are suitable for the manufacture of such furniture - it is well cut with a sharp scalpel or a homemade knife from a saw for metal, it is preferable to buy disposable scalpels at the pharmacy and cut on cardboard, such knives are inexpensive, and their sharpness allows you to perform operations on eyeball.

After the furniture is cut, it needs to be painted. Acrylic paints are well suited, they lie flat on the ceiling tiles and, after drying, are not soaked with water, which means that home-made dollhouse furniture can be wiped from dust with an ordinary damp cloth.

In general, fantasy in the manufacture of dollhouse furniture is limited only by your ability to make this furniture with your own hands. Go ahead and it will be a good toy for your child, you will spend an hour of time, and your daughter will be able to play with this toy for several months in a row!

Hello!

I want to tell you about the building material "Styrofoam". These are sheets, 1200x600 in size, similar to polystyrene but ten times stronger than polystyrene. They are used in construction, for insulation of houses and balconies. You can buy it in the markets and in hardware stores. In OBI, Leroy and Kostorama, the price for one sheet 2 cm wide varies from 70 to 80 rubles.

I came across 2 colors - orange and gray. Orange is stronger than grey.

You can cut such a sheet with an ordinary construction knife, but I also cut it with a kitchen knife, in general, cutting it is easy and simple.

In needlework, styrofoam, you can find many places. For example, the most popular is to build a Dollhouse, a Cat's house, doll furniture from polystyrene foam, you can simply cut letters out of it.

Expanded polystyrene, just like ordinary polystyrene, is afraid of glue and paint containing different chemicals (I don’t know what it’s called correctly). Before crating, it is best to test the adhesive on a small piece first. Paints are suitable for water-based, including gouache, acrylic.

I usually glue fabric with Titanium glue, wallpaper and paper with PVA glue for furniture, it holds up great.

I won’t describe the manufacturing process itself, if you decide what to do, you will understand everything in the manufacturing process)) Styrofoam sheets are like a designer, the details of which you can cut yourself. I make doll houses, roomboxes, doll furniture. I cut out the details, glue them and then assemble them, and sometimes the other way around, first I assemble and only then I glue them.

When assembling large parts (like building a dollhouse), I use glue + large screws.

It is worth noting that although polystyrene foam is durable, it is still not a tree and is not suitable for small children to play, children will be able to break such toys.

That's like everything. Now just a photo. All made by me personally, all from 2 cm thick polystyrene foam!
