Master class on making a floor lamp from improvised means. DIY table lamp DIY decorative table lamps

Original table lamps are unusual products with a design that catches the eye and emphasizes the interior, making it more comfortable and also interesting. But homemade devices may well have the same characteristics.

They are quite simple to make from improvised materials, decorate to your liking, and the design will be unique. If you plan to use a rather laborious manufacturing technology, it is better to take a master class as a basis.

Glass bottle design

Homemade table lamps of this kind are made using a wine bottle. From the materials you will also need masking tape. A drill will be used in the work, and as an original idea for a light source, you can use a New Year's garland with small light bulbs (LED). The glass of the bottle should be dark enough to protect from the bright radiation of the light source.

Master class on making a table lamp:

  1. The bottom of the bottle is carefully wrapped with masking tape, it is better to make multilayer glass protection so that it does not crack when drilling.
  2. You need to work with a wet drill, and the drilling speed should not be maximum. On the adhesive tape that covers the bottom of the bottle, a mark is made in the center. There will be a hole through which the garland will pass in the future.
  3. So that a homemade lamp does not pose a danger, the edges of the hole are processed with sandpaper. To do this, you can wrap it around a pencil.
  4. At the last stage, a garland is pulled inside the bottle, and this should be done as evenly as possible.

There are various ideas on how to decorate such a lamp, and a master class on how to implement them. For example, you can make a bottle painting. Another original option is the use of improvised materials, for example, a crocheted cover for the glass body of the lighting fixture.

soft toy lamp

To implement such an idea, you need to use schemes and master classes. The basis of a soft toy is a pattern. The type of materials used is selected any, at its discretion.

However, it is recommended to pay attention to such features: not too thin or dense fabric. Alternatively, linen. You can crochet all the elements of the scheme. The main thing is that in this case the knitting should be openwork, not too tight.

First, all available parts are sewn together, the base of the toy lamp remains open. Filler is stuffed inside. Then it is recommended to treat the fabric or crocheted toy with a special compound that is used to compact the fabric.

Soft toy night light

The product should dry well (1 day). Next, the filler is removed, which is easy to do with a pencil wrapped with double-sided tape.

At the bottom you need to cut a small hole for the output of the wire and place the LEDs

The bottom edge of the product is trimmed so that the base is as even as possible. A small hole is cut out on the side for convenient location of the cord. An LED cord is laid inside a crocheted or sewn toy.

Lamp made from a flower pot

Another master class allows you to create a lighting fixture from improvised materials that most users will probably find: a flower pot or a ceramic vase.

You will need a flower pot or ceramic vase.

Useful in work: a wire connector, a cartridge, a metal threaded tube, the length of which slightly exceeds the height of the pot. You will also need plaster and a spatula. To install a threaded rod, you will need a disc and two nuts. The last elements will fix the disk. This side of the bar falls to the bottom of the vase.

Attach the disk and washer to one end of the threaded pipe

In order for the home-made lamp to be stable and durable, a gypsum mortar is laid out at the bottom of the flowerpot, which must be prepared in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.

Gypsum dries very quickly, which means that you need to act quickly and accurately. Before pouring, a rod with a disk should already be installed at the bottom of the vase.

A sufficient thickness of the layer of gypsum mortar is up to 1/4 of the height of the flowerpot. Complete hardening of gypsum occurs within an hour.

Leave the disk at the bottom, and pour the plaster into the pot.

Next, a current collector is attached to the cartridge. It remains only to install the lampshade. If you wish, you can buy it in the store, however, there are more original ideas: a crocheted lampshade, a fabric product, etc. The power cable runs through the top edge of the vase.

Attach the lampshade to the top of the chuck

To hide it, the lampshade should be at or slightly below the edge of the flowerpot. It is recommended to choose the materials of the lampshade according to the shade and style of the lamp base, as well as taking into account the interior design.

The more transparent the material used (crochet, fabric, etc.), the more intense the illumination from the lamp. To make a lampshade, you will need a ready-made frame from an old lighting device, and a home-made analogue - made of wire - will also be used.

The chandelier in the room is not only a lighting fixture. Without exaggeration, we can say that she is the main decoration of the room. Handmade items are considered especially valuable. This allows you to highlight the special taste of the owners of the home, as well as an outstanding and creative mind. Of course, this type of work is quite complex and requires increased concentration. But at the same time, when creating decorations for your home, you can find many interesting and extraordinary solutions in it!

This article presents some ideas for decorating a chandelier with your own hands, as well as instructions for them. Everything is written so simply and clearly that anyone can do what they have planned at home.

In order to make a chandelier, sometimes the most unusual materials are used. For example, everyone is already familiar with glass or wood, plastic, and so on. But sometimes, when you want something completely “unusual”, wooden skewers, and glass wine bottles, and cans, and all kinds of tree branches, and cardboard, and even straw come into play. You need to choose depending on the idea of \u200b\u200bthe creator and on the wishes of the owners of the apartment. It is also necessary to take into account the general interior of the room where the finished product is supposed to be placed.

An interesting idea for a chandelier made of plastic spoons

Plastic disposable spoons are one of the simplest and most readily available materials for creating a chandelier for a room. Their advantages are low price, a variety of colors and such material will last for quite a long time. To create such an extraordinary chandelier, you will need a minimum of investments, both physical and material.

Materials:

  • empty bottle of drinking water, 5 liters;
  • plastic spoons (their number depends on the size of the bottle);
  • glue for plastic;
  • an old chandelier (or rather, a cartridge from it);
  • sharpened knife.

Process of creation:

  1. First you need to prepare a plastic bottle for the next steps. Remove the label in advance, cut off the bottom, dry well.
  2. Then you need to get the plastic spoons out of the package and carefully cut off unnecessary handles with a knife, leaving about 2-3 centimeters above the level of the "scoop".
  3. You need to glue the “scoops” blanks to the base of the bottle. Apply a large amount of glue to the left "tail" and press it to the surface (with the convex side of the spoon out). It is necessary to cover the entire bottle in a circle until the entire perimeter is occupied by plastic "spoons". It is advisable to arrange them in a checkerboard pattern and slightly move them together. This will leave fewer "free spots".
  4. You need to remove the cartridge from the old unnecessary chandelier, and then place it in an already glued and dried bottle and fix it on the frame.
  5. A decorative bowl can also be made from plastic spoons: stick "scoops" around the neck of the eggplant.
  6. Install and connect the chandelier, check its operation.

Note! The option of decorative painting or painting of spoons in absolutely any color is possible. Thus, your product will look even more beautiful and more original!

Chandelier made of plastic bottles in the form of leaves

Another unusual option in the interior will be a chandelier made in the form of leaves. It is created from simple plastic bottles, the variety of colors of which allows you to work in the most unusual colors and embody the most daring ideas.

Process of creation:

  1. Cut plastic bottles into blanks shaped like future leaves.
  2. Each blank has to finally fix the shape of the sheet.
  3. With a soldering iron with a thick tip and a one-sided bevel, you need to slightly fuse the sections of each leaf in order to give the future product the greatest effect.
  4. In the same way, thanks to the soldering iron, you need to give the blanks a sheet structure. You need to act very carefully and accurately, because you can easily make a hole in the plastic. Such a leaf with outlined contours of veins and slightly fused edges will look complete.
  5. With a hot needle at the "leg" of each leaf, you need to melt several holes in order to attach them.
  6. Thanks to a thin wire, form branches and screw them to a steel wire frame.

It would also be a great idea to make a new chandelier in the form of a ceiling lamp for a floor lamp or a table lamp. Thus, it will be a great addition to the previous product!

Chandelier with paper butterflies

The most common version of the product is a chandelier with butterflies. And this is no accident. To begin with, this option looks luxurious and expensive, and secondly, its manufacture does not require special physical costs. Thus, even a child can participate in the creation of a chandelier.

Process of creation:

  1. The basis is either an old chandelier or a similar frame. If this is not available, then you can take the simplest wooden or metal rim. If there is no such material, then, as an option, you can take a thick wire and make about 2-3 skeins, so that a circle forms.
  2. Cut paper butterflies according to the template. You need to take a butterfly template and fit it to the desired size. The option also looks very unusual when butterflies of several sizes are located on the chandelier at once (again, depending on desire). Transfer the outlines to paper and carefully cut out, preferably with a sharpened clerical knife, or small non-rounded scissors. The material for the templates themselves is better to use dense, not very dirty and does not attract dust. For example, velvet paper is very bad for a product, because in the future you will need to vacuum the chandelier quite often.
  3. Take a thread from a nylon or a transparent fishing line and attach butterflies to it. You can attach it in two ways: either pierce the bodies of butterflies, or stick them on silicone glue.
  4. Next, we attach threads with butterflies to the base of the frame and decorate it.
  5. You can also try an interesting variation if you make a wire ball! It should be based on a suspension from a chandelier and place several butterfly patterns on it using a glue gun.

fabric chandelier

This chandelier is also based on the frame. As in the previous version, either old metal frames or dense wire are suitable for its manufacture.

After you have pre-prepared the base, proceed to cutting out the fabric from which the lampshade will be made in the future. How long the finished product will be depends on your desire, but it should be borne in mind that the width of the fabric must be the same as the diameter of the frame! Once you have finished the pattern, you need to try on.

Another nuance is that the top of the fabric will need to be sewn directly on the frame, which means that it (the frame) must be solid. Otherwise, if it is possible to thread it directly into the fabric, then you should first fold the upper edge of the pattern and stitch it, and then iron it with an iron. Then we sew a seam on the side of the product.

In order for the lampshade not to lose its shape, due attention should be paid to the material. If the fabric is too light, "airy", then the bottom of the product should be weighted. To do this, you can use cardboard or fishing line.

A neatly sewn fringe, lace or braid will also look beautiful. But do not "overload" the product! The process of making a fabric chandelier is similar to making a lace chandelier. So you can safely experiment with materials that are located on the frame.

Plafond of threads and a balloon

Materials:

  • dense threads, such as woolen, cotton, or jute rope - at least 1 meter;
  • cartridge;
  • petrolatum;
  • PVA glue;
  • a brush to apply glue and petroleum jelly (it is desirable that the brush does not shed);
  • 1 or 2 pieces of balloons (the first to work with it, and the second to check the finished product, if desired);

Process of creation:

  1. Inflate the balloon to a certain size, secure. Remember that the finished work will exactly repeat the shape of the ball! With a marker, draw a couple of circles at the top and bottom, in order to determine the boundaries of winding threads.
  2. Using a brush, smear the ball around the entire perimeter with petroleum jelly.
  3. Pour PVA into a plastic container and thoroughly process the threads with it (It is not advisable to apply glue immediately to the entire length of the threads! Treat them as you wind them around the ball!).
  4. Given the borders that you applied with a marker, wind the threads around the ball. Do not forget that depending on the density with which you wind, the future appearance of the product depends.
  5. After winding, you need to leave the product for a day until it dries completely; After complete drying, you need to burst the ball and remove it through the holes.
  6. Cut a place at the top and insert the cartridge.
  7. In order to be completely sure that the product turned out to be strong, you can insert a ball into it and inflate it. Similarly, you can check the flexibility and reliability of the lampshade.

Alternatively, you can paint the structure with a spray can or acrylic paint, attach all kinds of decorative ornaments to it, such as butterflies, artificial flowers or beads. It's also a great idea to arrange a few balloons in the form of a bunch of grapes and fasten them together.

Wine bottle chandelier

This version of the chandelier is a little more complicated than the previous ones. Making a chandelier for this is quite difficult, the manufacturing process will require accuracy and care. However, you will love the result!

Materials:

  • a bottle of wine;
  • glass cutter;
  • sandpaper for sanding edges;
  • cartridge;
  • electric wire;
  • metal or wooden frame, rim.

Process of creation:

  1. First you need to prepare the bottle itself for further manipulations with it. The first step is to draw a straight line around the perimeter at the level you need. This is required in order to cut off the bottom of the bottle with a glass cutter;
  2. In order not to cut yourself on the glass, you need to grind the sharp edges with sandpaper;
  3. Pull the wire through the neck of the bottle and then connect the cartridge;
  4. Attach the bottle to the frame.

You can also decorate the bottle with all kinds of decorative items, or leave it in its original form. In any case, it will look original and spectacular.

The number of products on the frame depends on your desire. You can either leave one bottle, or fix four or more bottles at once.

Chandelier idea from laserdiscs

This idea is great for those who have a large number of laser discs left in the house, and the hand does not rise to throw them away. It is immediately worth noting that the manufacturing options and the result can be very different. It all depends on your imagination and creativity!

Materials:

  • two round wooden planks of different thicknesses, and which are slightly larger in diameter than the disks;
  • racks made of metal or wood;
  • Fluorescent Lamp;
  • magnetic switch;
  • disks.

Process of creation:

  1. Make a hole in a board with a greater thickness and install a starter with a switch in it.
  2. Then connect it all to the lamp.
  3. String disks on the lamp.
  4. Install the racks around the discs and secure the top.

The finished product will delight its owners for a long time, and it does not require special care. It is not advisable to place this type of chandelier in a children's room so that the child cannot harm himself (only if the chandelier hangs out of reach).

Shabby chic chandelier

To create spectacular lighting in the room, you can also make a chandelier from fabric or beads. The result is a kind of chandelier or ceiling in the style of "shabby chic".

Materials:

  • a finished metal or wooden frame (or it can be made from an old hoop, garden basket, thick wire);
  • cartridge and lamp;
  • chains and threads for decoration;
  • all kinds of beads and beads.

Working on such a ceiling is not difficult, but it is a very painstaking task. Such chandeliers usually consist of two or three levels of rings, which are located one above the other. It all depends on the size of the selected bases. If you take rings of the same diameter, then the finished product will be made in the Art Nouveau style.

One of the important points is that before you start decorating the chandelier, you need to paint and wrap the frames with decorative materials!

The approximate consumption of beads is:

  • For the lower part of the lampshade - 16 mm beads, about 15-17 pieces per thread;
  • For the upper part of the lampshade - 12 mm beads, about 35 pieces per strand.

Naturally, when stringing beads on a thread, you can increase or decrease their number or the degree of thread tension. But it is still desirable to stock up on materials in excess of the norm.

The essence of the work is to hang threads with beads "waterfall" or "cascade" so that they flow down the structure.

In order to make the effect of "muting" the light, you can sheathe the frame with a thick fabric.

A handmade chandelier will definitely bring a fresh touch, originality and beauty to the interior. You will immediately notice how the room will sparkle with new colors, and your guests will sincerely admire your creativity, diligence and original taste!

90 photos of DIY chandelier ideas

It would seem, why waste time if a wide variety of style options are presented in specialized stores: from classics and hi-tech to minimalism and Provence. However, a do-it-yourself table lamp allows you to create a unique decorative lighting fixture that matches the interior of your home.

Advantages of handmade lamps

We want to emphasize right away that this is not only financial savings. In this case, it is guaranteed to get a unique, inimitable device. Even if you apply the lampshades, which are described below, it will still become unique, like its creator.

How to make a table lamp

The main thing is to connect your imagination and see what is at home. As a material use:

  • glass jars or bottles of various sizes and shapes;
  • plumbing plastic pipes of various diameters;
  • plastic vessels. It is advisable to choose from a dense material;
  • vases and flower beds.

Laconic lamp for modern interiors

This option can be called universal and economically acceptable, since it is not difficult to make, it looks presentable and is suitable for rooms with various decorations.

To make your lamp, you need to take:

  • roulette;
  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers;
  • black marker;
  • a knife to strip the wires;
  • hacksaw or pipe cutter;
  • acetone for degreasing;

  • Super glue;
  • switch with decorative bulb;
  • copper corners - 90º;
  • copper tube;
  • electric wire.

The work is quick and easy, the main thing is to do all the work carefully so that you get reliable connections and a safe electrical connection. First of all, copper pipes are marked with a tape measure and a marker.

Using a pipe cutter or a hacksaw, you need to cut the tube into pieces of the desired size. The markings are wiped off with acetone. Sequentially glue the parts together.

To be sure, press and hold for a few minutes. In order to avoid a problem with the electric wire, it is advisable to immediately stretch it inside the structure, and then attach the lamp holder and plug.

Decorator tip. A convenient lamp for use is obtained by using elements of the following sizes: 20 cm - 1, 25 cm - 1, 15 cm - 3, 45 cm - 1 and an elbow corresponding to the size of the tube.

Eco-direction lamp

The material for the mast of the lamp is a wooden bar measuring 20 x 25 mm, 1 m long. It is sawn into 4 parts of different lengths: 500, 250, 150, 100 mm. Rounding is made at the ends, special cuts are made - recesses, and holes are drilled.

In this case, cuts are made on elements of 500 mm and 100 mm on one side, and on the other - from two. Holes are made in the middle of each bar according to the diameter of the electrical cable used. The foundation is being prepared. To do this, take a board of any arbitrary size so that the structure is stable.

A rectangle is drilled in the center according to the size of the planks used. The planks are connected to each other by means of a washer and a screw. Then they are attached to the base with a long wood screw.

This will ensure the reliability of the design. An interesting option could be old books connected to each other, installed on a base. A hole is made in the center through which the rod is passed. After that, the ceiling with a cartridge is attached.

A single-core wire is connected to it (section 0.75 mm² of each core). It is desirable that it be in isolation, on which there is no factory marking. So that it does not hang, it is passed through the holes in the slats. The switch can be of two options: mounted directly on the wire or fixed on the base. A fork is installed at the free end.

Children's lamp: soft toy

The fabric should not be too dense and let light through. Therefore, linen can be used. When choosing a pattern, it is important to take into account the wishes of the child. Cut out the fabric and connect all the parts except the bottom. Fill with sealant.

The fabric is impregnated with any composition that makes it dense (starch, gelatin). The improvised ceiling should dry well. A small hole is made at the bottom for the output of the cord. The seal is removed. A prepared LED cord is laid inside the structure. You can use a Christmas garland. The bottom is sewn up: the lamp is ready.

Ceramic vases, flower pots

This is the easiest option. The selected vessel becomes the ceiling. There will be no problems with flower pots: they have a hole in the bottom. A hole can be made in a vase with a drill, but all work must be carried out very carefully.

The surface is wetted, and the drill is set to minimum speed. Then a lampholder is installed inside the vessel, a wire is brought in, fastened with a washer to the bottom. The lamp turns on. To create a night light, it is advisable to choose the option of low power.

Various lampshades

The above-described base of lamps can be decorated with various lampshades. Thanks to this, they become an addition to a certain interior. The various directions that are taken as a basis are described below. Think about your preferences, hobbies, favorite activities and create something unique.

Plastic spoons

In the style of plastic spoons, everyday utilitarian items give an interesting opportunity to create an exclusive ceiling. To do this, take a plastic vessel of the required size, a large number of plastic spoons. It is impossible to specify the exact number, it all depends on the size of the ceiling.

Handles are cut off from spoons. After that, they are sequentially connected to each other with the help of a gun for creating decorative objects and special glue.

In order for the design to have the correct shape, plastic containers for water or drinks are the basis. After the whole structure has taken the necessary shape, the glue dries, a cartridge with wires is attached to the top.

mysterious forest

For the ceiling, choose small twigs of a bizarre shape. The bark is removed, impregnated with bactericidal and fire-fighting preparations, combined in any form.

Important advice. The only precaution: the branches should not touch the lamp, so that a fire does not occur.

Use wooden trempels

An acceptable option for eco-styles. Thus, it is easy to make a table lamp with your own hands from improvised materials.

To do this, the hangers are disassembled into separate elements, which are securely interconnected and attached to the electric cartridge. This option does not need additional decoration: the tree well emphasizes the eco-style.

Gummy Bears

This is a rather time-consuming option, but the result is a fun and most importantly safe lamp for a child's room. Any old table lamp with a large soft shade can be used as a base. To do this, remove the decorative material.

Turn the metal base upside down. Purchase a large number of small multi-colored teddy bears, string them on strong threads of various lengths and tie them to the upper, wide part of the base. The result is a "live" fun design.

musical lamp

For music lovers, an interesting option may be the use of small drums as shades. They create a luminous flux in two directions: up and down, so they do not irritate the eyes. But more importantly, the uniqueness of the lamp is guaranteed.

Sports theme

With this material you will have to work hard, but if you wish, everything is possible. Bicycle parts are connected together to form a chandelier that scatters fantastic patterns on the walls and ceiling.

fashion accessory

Hats are also used for these purposes, they may well replace old lampshades and give the room an exquisite charm. Depending on the wishes, it is easy to make male and female options.

Needlework to help

In the past, interiors were decorated with knitted napkins. Using this method, you can create a lamp. The only difference is the need to impregnate the material with PVA glue, which is diluted in a 1: 1 ratio.

In order to give the product a shape, a ball of the desired size is inflated or a 5-liter plastic bottle is taken. The finished product is impregnated with the composition and placed on the matrix. In the process of drying, the knitted element acquires the selected shape. It remains only to replace them with a boring lampshade.

Decorator tip. You can create several options for shades and change from time to time depending on the season, holidays, changes in decorative details, textiles or the style direction of interior decoration.

With effort and attention to detail, homemade table lamps become unique decorative lighting fixtures that reflect the inner essence of the owners and make the home more inviting and cozy.

Lighting devices in the apartment should provide two types of lighting: bright and subdued. Chandeliers mounted on the ceiling usually cope with bright lighting. But what to do in the case when you need to increase the access of light when working at a desk or when reading a book before going to bed? This is where a table lamp comes in handy. The advantage of such a device is that it does not illuminate the entire room, but only a certain area, without disturbing the rest of the family.

Figure 1. Scheme of the device of a table lamp.

Today, consumers are offered a wide variety of lamps, but you can make them yourself. In order to assemble the lamp with your own hands, you do not need to be a professional electrician. A great desire and minimal skills will allow you to decorate an apartment with an original and functional piece of furniture. For the manufacture of lighting fixtures, you can use the following methods.

Original table lamp made of bars

Handmade has always been valued by gourmet lovers. Now it is very popular, which means that any hand-made item will take its rightful place in the interior of an apartment, for example, an original lamp made of wooden beams (Fig. 1).

The following accessories are required for the manufacture of the device:

  • hacksaw;
  • screwdriver;
  • drill;
  • bolt with wing nut;
  • can of gilded paint;
  • 3 wooden blocks (1 long and 2 short);
  • set for electricians (cord, light bulb, cartridge, plug).

Figure 2. Sconce connection diagram.

In order to make a lamp, first of all, it is necessary to saw off 3 bars with a hacksaw. Their length can be any, but the condition must be observed: the first bar must be larger, and the other two must be shorter and of the same length.

Then a hole is drilled at the ends of the short bars at an equal distance from the edge. Two of the same holes must be made in a long bar: in the middle - for the bolt, and in the upper part - for the power cord. Removing the first hole from the edge will determine the angle of the lamp. When the holes for the bolt are prepared, the short bars are pressed parallel to the long one, and the whole structure is fastened with a bolt with a wing nut.

To give the device an attractive look, the cord and cartridge must be treated with spray paint. When the paint dries, the cord is threaded through the top hole in the long bar, and the cartridge is mounted on it. A plug is attached to the other end of the cord. The lamp is ready. Its laconic but unusual design will successfully decorate your desktop.

Table lamps with homemade lampshades

If an old and useless table lamp is lying around in the pantry, you can give it a second life by making a fashionable lampshade. Such items combine elegant chic and a touch of glamour, and they are extremely easy to make. In addition, you can achieve the desired degree of illumination.

For example, a lamp made of dense fabric will give a soft and diffused light, due to which it can be used as a night sconce (Fig. 2). If threads are used for the lampshade, the lamp can be used to illuminate the work surface.

To make a lamp with soft light, you will need:

  • old lamp with lampshade;
  • matte paint, matching the color of the interior of the room;
  • soft dense fabric (chintz, satin, etc.);
  • paper stencil in the form of a circle with a diameter of 10 cm;
  • glue gun.

First of all, it is necessary to prepare strips of 10 cm wide from the fabric, then cut them into identical squares. To cover the lampshade, you will need at least 200 squares. After that, circles must be cut out of each square using a stencil.

In order for the lamp to match the interior design as much as possible, the old lampshade can be painted with paint. If you apply the dye with uneven strokes, the lamp will look more original. While the paint dries, parts for creating a lampshade should be made from rag circles.

Each detail should be shaped like a badminton bag or shuttlecock. To give the part this shape, the center of the circle must be smeared with glue with a glue gun, and then gather the sides of the circle in the center and squeeze them.

When the paint dries, the base of the prepared parts is smeared with glue and applied to the lampshade. You can glue rag rounds either tightly or a little looser. It depends on the intensity of lighting. In order to create an additional decoration for the lamp, the edges of the flounces can be sprinkled with golden or silver paint.

Lamp with a lampshade made of dense threads

To make a lampshade, you will need threads, PVA glue and a balloon.

You can create an unusual table lamp or floor lamp from dense threads. For work you will need the following items and materials:

  • old lamp without lampshade;
  • balloon;
  • PVA glue;
  • saucer for glue;
  • thick cotton threads of the desired color.

The algorithm of work is extremely simple. First of all, you need to inflate the balloon and tie the hole tightly so that the balloon does not deflate. Then a small amount of glue is poured into the saucer. The threads can be cut into pieces or a single thread can be used by unwinding it from the bobbin.

The main task is to tightly wrap the ball with threads, leaving space at the bottom in order to then pull out the unnecessary ball. The threads are lowered into the glue, then gently wrapped around the ball. The coils should fit snugly against each other. You can completely cover the ball with thread or leave gaps. For strength, a ball already covered with threads can be additionally smeared with a layer of glue.

Then the product is left to dry completely: usually it takes at least 8-10 hours. When the glue is dry, blow off the balloon and pull it out of the resulting structure. A very light and elegant lampshade is put on the base of the lamp. If desired, the lampshade can be decorated with paper butterflies, beads, glass beads or braid.

Unusual lamp from old photographic films

Lapma from photographic films will perfectly fit into the interior in retro style.

You can create an even more unusual lamp using old photographic films. Such a lighting device will successfully fit into the design of a retro style, and into the interior of a room in modern style. For work you will need to prepare:

  • base for the lamp;
  • well-bending wire for the manufacture of the frame;
  • a sheet of thick matte paper;
  • glossy glue for decorative work;
  • old photo or film;
  • centimeter;
  • scissors;
  • glue brush.

Work must begin with the manufacture of a frame for a lampshade.

As a stencil, you can use any object in the shape of a parallelepiped, for example, a cardboard box. Then the end parts of the frame should be pasted over with thick paper.

After that, it is necessary to measure the height of the frame and cut the strips of photographic film into pieces corresponding to it. Then the frame is well coated with decoupage glue. Film strips are applied to the paper and held for some time to "seize". Film can be applied both vertically and horizontally. In the second case, it is possible to see the images. In addition, you can get creative with the design and place the films either on each side at different angles, or diagonally.

Then you need to give the product time to dry. Especially carefully you need to ensure that all corners and ends of the films are glued. After the glue dries, the frame is smeared with adhesive again (already on top of the film). When everything is completely dry, the lampshade must be put on the base. The lamp is ready, it will perfectly decorate the interior of the apartment.
