General information MCC

Moscow ring railway (MCC) one of the largest infrastructure projects of the Moscow government, implemented in the shortest possible time, allowing many times to reduce the load on the Moscow metro, and the city's transport system in general

The MCC is, in fact, the second metro ring line with a unified ticket system for the Moscow metro. 31 stations (TPU) have been built at the MCC. It is possible to transfer from any TPU to surface urban passenger transport.

At 17 out of 31 stations, it is possible to change to 11 metro lines. Also, at 10 TPUs, you can transfer to commuter trains.

The rolling stock at the Moscow Central Circle is represented by high-speed electric trains “Lastochka” produced by Siemens AG. Trains consist of 5 carriages.
Operation of the electric train is possible at ambient temperatures from -40 ° C to + 40 ° C. The carriages are equipped with two-leaf reclining-sliding doors, two on each side of the carriage.

The electronics of the cars contain built-in lighting, loudspeakers, digital information boards. To recharge mobile devices, the hand luggage racks have built-in electrical outlets rated for 220v AC.

Bathrooms with dry closets are installed in the head carriages of the train (one per carriage), bathrooms are equipped with special equipment for people with limited mobility.
28 high-speed electric trains "Lastochka" run at the MCC. The train moves almost silently and can accelerate to 120 kilometers per hour. During peak hours, trains run every six minutes, the rest of the time - at intervals of 11-15 minutes. The total journey time on the ring is about 75-85 minutes.

Technologies

Smart escalators with motion sensors

Energy-saving escalators are installed on the Moscow Central Circle (MCC). Smart escalators start moving only when passengers approach them. Accordingly, if there are no passengers on the escalator, it automatically slows down and stops.

Opening doors "On demand"

Doors in electric trains open at the request of passengers. The doors are opened only during a complete stop of the train on the platform, and only when the doors are ready to open, and a special green signal lights up.

On the outer and inner sides of the doors, there are special stickers informing that before entering or exiting to open the doors, you must press the corresponding button.

Thermal curtain / Climate control system

In cold weather, electric trains on the Moscow Central Circle will include a thermal curtain on the doors. The heat curtain turns on automatically at stops, when the doors are opened.

“Warm air is discharged directly in front of the doors in the carriage, creating a heat curtain and preventing cold air from getting inside,” - the press service of Russian Railways.

The thermal curtain will protect the car from sudden temperature changes and will be able to maintain a comfortable temperature for passengers at any time of the year.

The MCC cars are equipped with an automatic heating system that turns on when the ambient temperature drops below the air temperature in the train. In the climate control of trains, an antibacterial air disinfection system is integrated, which will protect passengers from all kinds of infections and viruses in the carriages, which is undoubtedly relevant to those. solution for public transport

Surely many have heard about the imminent launch of passenger traffic on the Moscow ring railway. But although the abbreviation of the Moscow Railway has recently been heard from all the irons controlled by the city authorities, it is not at all easy to find in one place brief information on the main issues of interest to a potential passenger. Recently, in personal communication, I came across the fact that even some bloggers who are close to transport topics have a poor idea of this project. I recently just had to find and collect information about the Moscow Ring Road (from the portal of the City Hall, the websites of Russian Railways and the Moscow Railway, and from the messages of the city's government-owned publication m24.ru), so I decided to make a small overview post about what the Moscow Ring Road would be like. railway for passengers.

First, a few words about history. The Small Ring of the Moscow Railway (this is how the Moscow Railway was correctly called until recently) was built in 1903-1908. The road was originally intended for intracity and transit freight traffic, but at first it also carried passenger traffic, which was stopped in 1934.
They started talking about the return of passenger traffic to the Moscow Railway almost immediately after the arrival of Sobyanin, and initially much earlier terms of its launch were called. But, apparently, the project required a much more serious infrastructure reconstruction than it seemed necessary at first glance, and its implementation lasted for more than five years. They promised to launch the movement of electric trains in September 2016 (although now more and more often you can hear just "in 2016").

As can be seen in the diagrams, the Moscow Railway at different sections has different distances from the center: somewhere the road comes very close to the metro ring line, somewhere it moves a decent distance from it. The Moscow Railway will have 31 stations, which will provide 17 transfers on 11 metro lines (including the second subway ring for the future) and 10 transfers on 9 radial directions of the railway. 11 out of 17 metro transfers are promised to be made on the principle of "dry feet", which, as I understand it, means no need to go out.
The question of the construction of the 32nd station, "Presnya", which is noted on some schemes, is planned to be resolved later. I will add that one station, "Gagarin Square" on Leninsky Prospekt, will be underground - the rest will be above ground. I also note that the names of some of the stops, in my opinion, have been floating for a long time, so do not be surprised if you suddenly find some inconsistencies in the diagrams.

In fact, the Moscow Railway will become a ring line of the city electric train, integrated into the metro system. You can pay for travel on the ground ring with a metro ticket. At the same time, the transfer between the Moscow Railway and the metro will be free for the passenger (at first they said that within 15 minutes, Liksutov recently announced as much as an hour and a half). That is, both on the Moscow Railway and in the metro you will have to go through turnstiles, but if you meet the allotted interval, when you re-enter the money (travel) will not be debited. The possibility of extending the action to the Moscow Railway of the Big Moscow season ticket, which is used by passengers of electric trains, is being discussed, but there is no specifics on this issue yet. All the privileges in the metro will remain in the Moscow Railway.

The Swallows will be used as rolling stock on the ground loop. It is stated that during "rush hours" they will walk at intervals of no more than 6 minutes, and in the future the intervals may be reduced.

Already many Muscovites and guests of the capital are accustomed to the convenience of the MCC (Moscow Central Circle), or as it was previously called the Moscow Ring Railway, the Moscow Ring Railway, the opening of which facilitated the unloading of the Moscow metro ring line in particular and the entire metro in general.

MCC scheme with metro

Scheme of the MCC with transfers to metro, electric trains and suburban transport

Another popular MCC scheme with transfers to the metro, electric trains and other suburban transport is useful for passengers who travel by electric trains, transfer to the MCC from the metro or from minibuses. The diagram shows metro stations, Russian Railways stations and MCC stations along with transitions to them.

We draw your attention to the distance of a number of MCC stations from the metro. For example, from the Nagatinskaya metro station to the MCC station Upper fields Yandex maps show 4 km, despite the fact that the map in the metro indicates 10 - 12 minutes on foot.

Schemes and maps during construction (projects) with transfer hubs:

Numerous queries in the search can be addressed to the only official website of the Moscow Railway at the moment http://mkzd.ru/

According to preliminary sketches, it was assumed that the Moscow Railway on the map would look like this:

MCC opening hours and hours

MCC works on the same graphicsas the Moscow metro:

from 5:30 am to 01:00 am

List of stations of the MCC (MKZD):

There will be 31 stations in total. It is assumed that the rolling stock will be represented by Lastochka trains, which have proven themselves well on intercity routes and, for sure, will be convenient for such local transportation.

The opening of the Moscow Railway is scheduled for the end of 2016, testing is planned to begin in July 2016, so we are waiting for new information and will be updated as it becomes available.

Information about the MCC:

Because the calculator is not yet written and ready, an easy way to calculate the travel time between stations next 90 minutes / 31 stations = about 3 minutes approximate time calculation from station to station.

What are the train intervals on the MCC

The intervals between MCC trains are no more than 6 minutes during rush hours, which is generally good, especially at traditionally problematic and congested stations. For example, near the City, where on the days of exhibitions at the Expocentre you are taken out of the metro.

They also asked:

1. When will the Moscow Railway open passenger traffic?

According to the official site, testing will begin in July 2016, and the opening date is scheduled for late 2016.

The opening of the MCC took place:
26 out of 31 stations of the ring operate. Sokolinaya Gora, Dubrovka, Zorge, Panfilovskaya and Koptevo stations will be opened later (until the end of 2016).
The Lastochka trains run at rush hours every 6 minutes, the rest of the time - 12 minutes. The fare collection system is integrated with the Moscow Metro and allows you to transfer from the metro to the MCC trains and back at no additional charge. In the first month of the ring's operation (until October 10 inclusive), travel on MCC trains is free. According to rasp.yandex.ru

Reconstruction of the Moscow Central Ring (MCC) is a unique project not only for Moscow, but for Russia as a whole. The MCC has become a full-fledged light metro, integrated into the metro system.

The MCC scheme is inscribed on the Moscow metro map. It shows the approximate time for ground transfers from the MCC.

In addition, the diagram shows possible transfers from the MCC to surface urban transport, traffic intervals, etc.

The loop movement was launched on September 10, 2016. This gave a new impetus to the development of the abandoned industrial areas of the capital, and also made it possible to cut the Gordian knot of transport problems hanging over the capital.

The Moscow Central Circle is the road to the future. Thanks to the ring, the trip around the capital takes an average of 20 minutes. Another unique feature of the MCC was that it connected the garden and park ensembles of the capital: the Mikhalkovo estate, the Botanical Garden, the territory of VDNKh and the Losiny Ostrov National Park, the Vorobyovy Gory nature reserve and others.

MCC is the new life of Moscow industrial zones

Since 1908, the Moscow Central Circle served industrial zones and mainly performed the function of transporting goods. However, over time, many industrial areas around this ring fell into disrepair, some industries were closed. A number of industrial zones were used as warehouses at best. Now these territories are being actively reorganized, housing with social facilities, sports complexes, etc. are being built here. And the developing territories require convenient transport links.

The launch of passenger traffic on the MCC solves the issue of transport support for industrial zones. In addition, the ring connected suburban rail and electric trains that go to the city center with the MCC stations. Passengers can, before reaching the city center, change to MCC trains and move on almost throughout Moscow.

All stations of the MCC were built in the form of transport interchange hubs (TPU). They will include offices, shopping malls, shops and cafes. This concept meets both the interests of investors, for whom it is important to recoup investments in construction, and the needs of citizens.

Therefore, since I had to find and collect all this information (from the portal of the mayor's office, the websites of Russian Railways and the Moscow Railway, and from the messages of the city's government-owned publication m24.ru), I decided to make a small overview post about the Moscow Railway as a whole and dwell separately on what will change launch of passenger traffic along the ring for residents of Zelenograd and other settlements of the Leningrad direction.

Now, briefly about the transfer from the Moscow Railway to the Leningrad direction. It will be carried out through the NATI platform, which until recently was the deadliest stopping point between Moscow and Zelenograd. The phrase “the train follows with all stops except NATI” in the minds of passengers meant “with all stops”, because no one stopped at NATI anyway. :) Now this platform promises to heal a new life.
The thing is that in 350 meters from it (if you count in a straight line), there is the Nikolaevskaya station of the Moscow ring railway. These two stopping points will be combined into a transport and interchange hub, for the construction of which the Moscow City Planning and Land Commission recently allocated a plot of 0.38 hectares. According to Moskomstroyinvest, in addition to the transport terminal, it will house zones for consumer services, public catering, and also servicing vehicles. I don’t know exactly how it will all look. I can only appeal to the pictures from the Moscow Railways website, the relevance of which I am not sure.

The TPU scheme, for example, exactly dates back to 2013 - perhaps everything has changed in plans since then.

I also don’t know what the situation is with construction, but I strongly doubt that by September there will be such a healthy TPU building with crossings, because the announcement about the allocation of land for construction passed only a few months ago. However, whenever and in what form this TPU is built, the opportunity to transfer from NATI to the Moscow Railway should appear in September of this year. This means that Zelenograd residents (and our neighbors in the Leningrad direction) will have new options for laying routes to many areas of Moscow.
