Methods of heat and sound insulation of walls in an apartment, choice and technology. Heat and sound insulation, why do you need to do it? Offers a wide range of thermal and sound insulation materials

7 8 9 10

With the development of modern technologies, the frequency range of sound sources has expanded significantly. Residents of panel and block high-rise buildings especially suffer from this. Contrary to popular myths, traditional insulation such as mineral wool, foam or cork does not improve sound insulation. To fully protect your apartment from noise penetration, you should look for a comprehensive solution and it is best to invite an acoustic engineer for this. This is recommended in case of severe acoustic discomfort. If it is required to reduce noise pollution by 5–10 dB, one can resort to special noise-insulating materials, using them in the construction of frame partitions and wall cladding. This rating contains a list of the most effective of them and is based on expert opinions and user reviews.

The actual characteristics of sound insulation may differ from those declared by the manufacturer, since they largely depend on the degree of tightness of the fences, their total mass and number of layers, as well as some architectural aspects. In other words, even the most effective material will be useless if the apartment is located next to noisy engineering equipment, the neighbor's subwoofer regularly rumbles through the wall, and the partitions are made in the form of single structures and are rigidly attached to the bases. In order to prevent wasting time and money, we suggest evaluating the pros and cons of different materials.

8 Gyproc Aku Line GKL

Professional recommendation. Smoothness and hardness of the front surface
The country: Poland (produced in Russia)
Average price: 680 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.6

Soundproof gypsum sheets are recommended by the Moscow Research Institute of Physics for use as permanent elements in standard constructions for soundproofing walls and ceilings in residential buildings, including medical and children's institutions. To do this, they have all the necessary set of qualities: strength (provided by a dense core of gypsum reinforced with fiberglass), high sound insulation index (54 dB), environmental friendliness (confirmed by EcoMaterial Absolute).

The front surface of the sheet has a hardness that is significantly superior to that of competitors, and the special shape of the edge increases the resistance of the seam to cracking. It is important to note the exceptional smoothness of the cladding, which significantly reduces the time and material costs for finishing. The reviews confirm that the sheets are really very dense, it is quite difficult to transport them, and it is better to countersink the holes before tightening the screws. But sound insulation, subject to the use of material according to ready-made solutions for specific premises, is achieved tangibly.

7 Knauf Acoustic KNAUF

5 Soundguard Ecozvukoizol

The thinnest sound insulation
Country Russia
Average price: 920 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.7

The thinnest sound insulation in our review was the domestic panel Soundguard Ekozvukoizol. Its thickness is only 13 mm. It is not difficult to calculate the number of panels per room, since the dimensions of the sheet are quite accurate (1200x800 mm). The manufacturer managed to achieve the soundproofing effect through the use of quartz filler. Noise-insulating panels greatly reduce the impact of sound and shock waves in a wide frequency range. This was achieved by increasing the weight of the sheet, the use of a multilayer layer. It contains elastic, integrated and vibration damping layers, as well as free filler particles.

The panel is mounted in the same way as plasterboard sheets, it can be used for soundproofing both walls and ceilings. It is allowed to carry out soundproofing only of internal rooms with low humidity. Panels can be cut with a hacksaw, circular saw, grinder or electric jigsaw. Sheets are mounted both on an independent frame and directly to the wall surface. In the latter case, the surface must first be leveled with fiberboard or Soundguard Roll.

Most of the owners of apartments and houses in the reviews positively characterize Soundguard Ekozvukoizol soundproof panels. They do not steal the area of rooms, they are easy to use. Some users are not happy with the high price and heavy weight of the sheets.

4 StopZvuk PSU

The best combination of noise and heat insulation properties
Country Russia
Average price: 755 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

To minimize the cost of heat and sound insulation of a house or apartment, you should pay attention to StopZvuk BP plates. The material has unique abilities due to the presence of basalt mineral in the composition. This component plays the main role of a universal insulator. In addition to a high rate of sound absorption (up to 99%), the plate withstands high temperatures (up to 1000 ° C). Owners of private houses will benefit from such properties as resistance to penetration of rodents, preservation of their properties in a humid environment, and inertness to biodestruction.

StopZvuk BP is an environmentally friendly material, since basalt is a natural substance. The products meet all the requirements of European standards. Quality is controlled at all stages of production.

The low density of the material allows for complete heat and sound insulation of a house or room, without fear for the load on the supporting structures. Sound insulation is mounted in the same way as in the case of mineral plates. A frame is made with a step of 600 mm, and an insulator is placed in the formed space.

Homeowners note in the reviews such advantages of StopZvuk PSU as lower costs for a set of insulation measures, simple installation, and light weight. The disadvantages include insufficient protection from strong noise and vibration.

3 Shumanet BM

Best price
Country Russia
Average price: 749 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.8

Shumanet BM mineral slab will help to cheaply make high-quality soundproofing of a room. This non-combustible material has a low specific gravity, which reduces the load on the walls. Plates are designed to fill the voids between the wall and the cladding. Installation is carried out using frame structures. The quality of each plate is strictly controlled by the manufacturer. Therefore, excellent acoustic properties are guaranteed.

Builders have no problems with the installation of material. As a rule, a frame with a pitch of 600 mm is arranged on the walls of houses. The miniplate has the same width with a length of 1200 mm and a thickness of 50 mm. The package contains 4 plates, which allows you to immediately isolate 2.88 square meters. m walls. Soundproofing material is laid between the profile or wooden beam. For fastening, it is enough to use several plastic "fungi" intended for mounting heat-insulating plates. If Shumanet BM will be used in rooms with high humidity, then each plate is wrapped in a non-woven material, such as spunbond.

Russian homeowners and builders note a number of positive qualities of soundproofing material. This is an affordable price, ease of installation, good noise absorption coefficient. The disadvantages include the presence of loose and prickly elements.

2 Soundline-dB

Optimal combination of thickness and sound insulation properties
Country Russia
Average price: 1080 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.9

Acoustic triplex Soundline-dB has unique soundproofing properties. It is made on the principle of an automobile windshield. A special sealant is applied between two moisture-resistant weighted drywall sheets (8 mm). Due to the elasticity of the layer, the sound flow is reduced due to the gradual absorption of waves. In other words, each drywall sheet oscillates on its own. The total sound insulation is much higher than that of the same two drywall sheets without an acoustic layer.

Testing of the material showed that it has the lowest flammability, toxicity, combustibility and smoke formation. Triplex Soundline-dB fully meets all the requirements of the sanitary and hygienic standards of the Customs Union.

Among the advantages of sound insulation it should be noted ease of installation, high degree of sound insulation (up to 69 dB), preservation of its properties up to 25 years, low cost.

Installation of triplex is in many ways similar to the creation of plasterboard structures. It is only necessary to select the appropriate self-tapping screws for the thickness of the sound insulation (17.5 mm). You should also make allowances for the large weight of the three-layer canvas.

The owners of houses and apartments in the reviews praise the soundproof qualities of the Soundline-dB triplex. It is easy to install, effective in combating noise, has a small thickness. Among the shortcomings can be noted a lot of weight and bulkiness.

1 ZIPS-III-Ultra

Best Sandwich Panel
Country Russia
Average price: 1525 rubles.
Rating (2019): 4.9

The use of the ZIPS-III-Ultra sandwich panel allows you to comprehensively solve the problems associated with extraneous noise. Due to the exact size of the sheet (1200x600x42 mm), any homeowner will quickly calculate the need for a particular room. It is also worth considering that the kit comes with the necessary set of hardware for fasteners. These are traditional dowels, anchors, washers and self-tapping screws. The soundproofing system itself is a combination of gypsum fiber and staple fiberglass. The role of the support is played by 8 vibration isolators. They protrude in a free state by 10 mm in relation to the plane of the sheet. During installation, they are pressed with drywall. As a result, the total thickness of sound insulation and plasterboard is 55 mm.

To install a soundproofing layer on the walls, you need to stock up only with a puncher, a screwdriver and a hacksaw. Thanks to the frameless system, it will be possible to save on the crate. The sandwich panel comes with clear installation instructions. The sound insulation layer can be covered with ordinary plasterboard sheets.

Domestic owners of apartments and houses call ZIPS-III-Ultra panels the best soundproofing option. It is efficient, inexpensive and thin. After soundproofing, many managed to forget about loud neighbors, their dogs and sounds from a busy street.

Everyone wants their home to be comfortable in all respects, and among them, silence and warmth are almost the most important. In order to create an optimal microclimate and maximum comfort in an apartment, it is necessary to insulate it with high quality and protect it from external sounds that come from the street, highways or from neighboring apartments. To kill two birds with one stone will help special materials related to the class of heat and sound insulators. Due to their structure, they regulate the microclimate in the room and absorb sound waves. In hardware stores you can find several types of such materials.

No. 1. Heat and sound insulation boards

Heat and sound insulation boards- one of the most popular materials that are used if it is necessary to simultaneously protect your home from noise and increase its thermal insulation so that it is comfortable to stay there in summer and winter with minimal heating or air conditioning costs. This is a natural material which contains only coniferous wood, and there are no glues, synthetic additives or other harmful substances here. First, the wood is ground, then wetted to make it easier to form a homogeneous canvas, then pressing takes place under the influence of high temperatures. During this process, the wood is compacted, and then the drying phase follows, after which the material is ready for use. Sheets may vary in thickness and other parameters so that you can choose the best option for each specific room.

Heat and sound insulating boards excellent insulation, whose effectiveness can be compared with mineral wool. Such material helps to maintain the same temperature in the room, preventing the house from quickly warming up in summer and cooling down in winter. Features of the structure allow you to reliably delay extraneous sounds, isolate those in the apartment from impact and airborne noise, which makes it possible to protect yourself from loud neighborly conversations and almost neutralize the sound from working tools. In addition, the plates allow you to improve the acoustics inside the room, and save it from the echo effect.

But only on sound absorption and thermal insulation material advantages are not limited. So, the plates are able to regulate the microclimate in the room, absorb excess moisture and release it when the air in the room becomes too dry. It is worth noting some features that appear when in contact with water. The wood fibers of the material are somewhat reminiscent of felt, which means that even when absorbing about 20% moisture in relation to its volume, the board will still retain its original geometric dimensions. In addition, it is a fairly durable material that will last at least 50 years. As a rule, one of the sides of the plates is smooth and is intended for further finishing, which will be simplified as much as possible, because the surface does not need to be leveled. The installation of heat-insulating boards is not difficult: they can be attached both to glue and to the crate, and any finish can be used on top of the material: wallpaper, paint, plaster, etc.

No. 2. Basalt slabs

is another unique material that combines the properties of insulation and sound insulator, and all thanks to the features of the structure. The manufacturing process begins with a melt of raw materials, which are used as rocks such as basalt, clay, limestone, dolomite. Further, the melt turns into many thin fibers, which are interconnected due to the addition of special substances. The final stage is drying at high temperatures, which gives the material additional useful performance qualities, incl. strength and elasticity.

The fibrous structure of the plates determines and low thermal conductivity(about 0.04 W / m * K), but this characteristic largely depends on the moisture content of the material: in the dry state, the thermal insulation properties are the best, and as they get wet, they deteriorate. The structure of basalt slabs allows you to protect your home from the most annoying low frequency noise, and these are the steps of the neighbors, the blows of different instruments, etc. The material also effectively protects and from high frequency noise and significantly reduces the revibration time, because the sound wave is absorbed and converted into thermal energy.

Basalt slabs are distinguished by fire-fighting properties, good vapor permeability, which allows the walls to “breathe” and remove excess moisture into the atmosphere. This is a safe material with high strength, which does not change during operation, and this property allows the use of basalt slabs in the arrangement of heat and noise insulation systems at any facilities. High strength characteristics are explained by the fact that during the production process the fibers are reoriented. Plates resistant to rotting, aggressive environments, can last 70 years more, which is explained by the origin of the material: in fact, it is a stone stretched into threads. This type of heat and sound insulation can be called safe for health and environmentally friendly. Moreover, the material is easily cut, which makes it possible to simplify the installation process as much as possible and even do it yourself.

No. 3. Ecowool

already by its name betrays that it is natural material, which means that it is not capable of causing allergies and other diseases in humans. This is one of its main advantages. Ecowool is made from waste from the cardboard industry, newspaper remnants, corrugated packaging, as well as from defective printed products, etc. As a result, the material is more than 80% cellulose. Also, during production, boric acid is added - a powerful antiseptic that resists the development of fungus and mold, and flame retardants - substances that reduce the ability to ignite and resist burning. Sodium tetraborate often acts as a flame retardant. As is clear from the composition, there are no synthetic substances in ecowool, which gives the right to call it one of the most environmentally friendly heat and sound insulators. And when it burns, no specific toxic substances are released.

The material is different low thermal conductivity, which is at the level of 0.032 W / m * K, which is approximately equivalent to radiant mineral wool insulation. And here ecowool is even more effective in terms of sound insulation than basalt slabs, and a much thinner layer of material must be used to create the same effect. The elastic structure of ecowool allows you to delay sound waves, thereby protecting the inhabitants of the apartment from noise of any nature. A vivid example of the soundproofing characteristics of the material: the construction of a wooden frame 7.5 cm thick, to which drywall sheets with a total thickness of 1.3 cm are attached on both sides, reduces external noise by 37 dB. If, however, ecowool 2.5 cm thick is attached to one of the sides of this structure, then the sound insulation of the partition will increase to 65 dB. Another example: a 12.5 mm drywall sheet with a 5 cm layer of ecowool has a sound absorption index of 63 dB. If we take into account the fact that a person perceives a decrease in external noise by 10 dB as a decrease in 2 times, then with ecowool you can achieve incredible results and make your apartment comfortable.

A layer of ecowool is able to absorb excess moisture from the room and give it away, but the performance properties of the material do not deteriorate. Since the structure of the material is capillary, microdroplets do not accumulate in it - moisture escapes into the atmosphere, thereby regulating the microclimate in the room. Vapor barrier when using this material is not needed, which simplifies the process of arranging such thermal and sound insulation and reduces the cost of construction.

Despite the fact that ecowool is 80% paper, it resists fire well: it does not ignite well and does not support its spread. It's all about the flame retardants that are part of the material, and the water molecules contained in boric acid salts are released when heated and contribute to the spontaneous attenuation of ecowool. Due to the presence of boric acid, the material is protected from the spread of mold, bacteria in it, and they do not start in ecowool. This material can be called durable, as it will last at least 50 years.

No. 4. Foam glass

- a very popular insulation with excellent soundproofing parameters. The material has long been actively used in European countries, but here it only makes itself felt. It is interesting that it was invented back in the middle of the last century, but at that time its manufacturing technology was so complicated and expensive that it did not become popular. Today, technology has become much more advanced, and although foam glass is still not a cheap material, it has become a popular heat-insulating material.

In the manufacture, only safe components are used: silicate glass and some kind of blowing agent, for example, coke, coal, soot or anthracite. After heating the mixture to 1000 0 C, passing the reaction and foaming, the volume of the material increases by 15 times, and a mass of bubbles saturated with air or carbon dioxide appears in the structure. In such a structure, all the useful operational properties of foam glass are hidden.

The thermal insulation properties of the material, although slightly inferior to ecowool, still give the right to use foam glass as a good insulation. Coefficient of thermal conductivity is 0.045 W / m * K, but this indicator does not change during operation, and after 50-60 years it remains exactly the same, which cannot be said about many other heaters. The structure of the material helps him absorb external noise of different nature: so, a layer of foam glass of 10 cm can reduce the noise level by 56 dB.

Among other advantages of the material- resistance to moisture, breathability, low density, which allows not to make the structure too heavy. Foam glass has good vapor permeability, retains all its operational properties in a wide temperature range. In addition, it is a completely non-combustible material, because in fact it is ordinary glass. Previously, foam glass was used in the ceilings of nuclear power plants, in the construction of expensive hotels and at other facilities where the highest safety requirements were put forward. From the composition of the material, it is clear that it is safe, will not become a place for the development of rodents, mold, bacteria, etc. Foam glass has good adhesion to almost all building materials and boasts durability. The only downside of this heat and sound insulator - its high cost.

No. 5. Foamed polyethylene

- the material obtained from polyethylene has a closed-porous structure, due to which it is widely used as a heat and sound insulator. It has excellent thermal insulation properties, as evidenced by coefficient of thermal conductivity, which is at the level of 0.038 W / m * K. As it is used more and more often, and a layer of 1 cm is able to replace 5 cm of mineral wool in terms of efficiency. As a sound insulator, the material also performs excellently, absorbing a significant part of the sound waves, which is possible due to its structure.

Among other things, this material is not at all afraid of water and almost does not absorb it even with direct contact. It is bio-sustainable, non-toxic and durable, and has a service life of about 80-100 years. The process of its transportation and installation is simple, but there are some disadvantages. Among them, combustibility and sensitivity to ultraviolet rays, therefore, during transportation, installation and operation, it must be carefully protected from direct sunlight.

- the work is now popular, performed in almost every house and apartment. Everyone began to save heat, since this is a serious savings for the family budget, and excessive noise adds stress to our already intense life. The house should be a place where you have the opportunity to relax, which is why such technologies have become so popular.

First, let's deal with the materials, firstly, mostly heat-insulating materials can rarely boast of noise-insulating properties, of the most affordable and popular of these, there are only three - wool (eco, glass and mineral), cork sheets and isolon. Styrofoam and polypropylene do not isolate sound well, and linings for wallpaper or special mixtures that can remove extraneous noise do not provide heat. You can either use one of the listed options, or build a structure from a combination of heat and sound insulators.

In order to finally convince you of the reasonableness of choosing one of the three proposed options, we will consider the advantages and disadvantages, the installation features of each of the listed materials.

Cotton materials: glass wool, eco-wool, mineral wool

Cotton materials are almost identical in characteristics and therefore we will analyze them using mineral wool as an example.

Installation of mineral wool

Mineral wool has:

  • Low thermal conductivity.
  • Not susceptible to fire.
  • Compressive strength, mechanical stress, tearing.
  • High soundproofing characteristics.
  • Resistant to temperature deformation.
  • Biological and chemical resistance.
  • Ease and simplicity in installation.

Mineral wool is produced both in sheets and in rolls, has a different thickness and softness. Installation instructions for structures using mineral wool are extremely simple:

  1. It is necessary to close the walls with a steam, hydro-barrier using a stapler, assemble the frame from special metal profiles, adhering to a step of 50 centimeters (cell 50 * 50).
  2. Carefully insert mineral wool into the resulting space, making sure that there is no uncovered space.
  3. Fix in any convenient way.
  4. Close the structure with drywall sheets, plastic panels, clapboard, fiberboard.

The base for the walls is ready. You can start finishing, its appearance depends on what material you have chosen. Before accepting such an option for work, please note that the thickness of the structure will “steal” several tens of centimeters from your premises. If sound insulation is the primary reason for repair alterations, then before proceeding with the installation of the structure, inspect the walls, floor, ceiling for cracks, cracks, recesses through which extraneous noise can penetrate and repair them. In principle, the technology allows you to do everything with your own hands and not overpay those who perform this kind of work, therefore it is not financially costly.

Cork wall covering

Cork flooring

Cork flooring also has many advantages:

  • It is waterproof.
  • Fireproof.
  • Resistant to deformation and pressure.
  • Does not collect dust, slightly polluted.
  • Remarkably isolates extraneous noise and retains heat.
  • Not subject to the appearance of fungus and mold.
  • Hypoallergenic.

The disadvantages include:

  1. Greater material cost.
  2. Slight durability of the protective coating.
  3. Traces of heavy furniture, appliances.

Cork coating can appear before the consumer in various types:

  • Tiles made of cork chips.
  • Cork rolls.
  • Wallpaper from cork chips.
  • "Liquid" corks.
  • Technical cork coating for other types of finishes.

Installing a cork in any of its forms is not a complicated process, but rather painstaking. It is glued to a special acrylic or contact compound. The contact adhesive has a double-sided application principle, that is, it is applied both to the wall and to the material, ensures the reliability and strength of fastening, the second fastening option implies that the adhesive will be applied only to the material. Builders prefer contact adhesives.

When gluing on both sides, make sure that air bubbles do not get under the material, and the glue is evenly distributed over the entire surface. Before gluing, you need to wait a while for better adhesion of materials. Before the gluing stage, the cork should acclimatize in the room, for this it should take at least a day. The walls and the room where the work will be carried out also need to be prepared. The room temperature should not be below 19 degrees Celsius, and the relative humidity should fluctuate between 35-65 percent. The walls must be dry and even, their maximum humidity is 3%.

If you are not sure of compliance with these indicators, then carry out the appropriate work - level or dry them. When installing cork coatings, the use of materials containing gypsum is unacceptable. Cork is glued in much the same way as tile, with the difference that the seams here should be minimal, and the materials are laid butt-to-butt. If the coating is patterned, then lay out the combination on the floor before gluing it to the wall and stick to the sequence you have chosen.

Izolon

The undoubted advantages of this material:

It can be both glued and attached with a stapler, and the seams between the sheets are carefully sealed with special adhesive tape. It is possible to produce heat and sound insulation both from the inside of the building and from the outside. Which heat and sound insulation of the walls in the apartment is better - choose for yourself.

External thermal insulation of walls

The advice of the masters is almost the same - you need to choose this particular type for insulation (if this is the main task), since it is easier to prevent the cold from penetrating the wall of the room than to deal with the consequences of its freezing. There is a certain algorithm of actions that is applicable to thermal and sound insulation outside the house.

Frame for thermal insulation

  1. The walls must first be prepared. The base must be dry, clean and solid. If we are talking about work that requires a frame or crate, before constructing them, you need to take care of the vapor barrier so that the materials are not exposed to moisture. This is especially true for working with cotton heat and noise insulators, since one of the disadvantages of the latter is, in fact, the fear of moisture. Under its influence, cotton wool loses its properties, and the work will not bring the desired effect. If you want to work with adhesives, the wall must be thoroughly dried. It is not recommended to carry out such outdoor work in the autumn - spring period, when the humidity is high, it is better to choose a summer day in a sunny week, then your walls will dry on their own, naturally without your help.
  2. Placement of a heat and sound insulator. It is worth fixing the material in the way indicated in the technology above - either by gluing (attaching with a stapler), or by placing it under the frame (formwork). It is customary to close the insulator with special materials for facade work. It can be slabs, siding or something.

If you do not have the opportunity to spend in the apartment outside, you can resort to internal installation. Insulation and soundproofing technologies have already been given by us in this article.

Styrofoam or styrofoam? Is it worth it?

If soundproofing is not fundamental, and there are not enough financial resources for large-scale insulation work, we can offer an option suitable for private houses or apartments, where external noise (from the street) is the main concern. This is the installation of foam or foam boards. Due to their porosity, they absorb a certain amount of noise, although their performance lags far behind mineral wool, isolon or cork. Of course, you can also carry out interior decoration using these sheets, but some experts are concerned about their toxicity, so we do not recommend taking risks.

The installation of such sheets is very simple - they are glued to special mixtures, fixed with so-called fungi, plastered and painted. The density and thickness of the material is different and you can easily choose the right option for yourself.

Whatever your choice of heat and sound insulation, its location, I would very much like everything to work out for you, and your work will bring you joy and satisfaction.

The presence of constant humidity and dampness, close proximity to the ground or basements, the lack of effective centralized heating provide good reasons for warming housing. In addition, high-quality thermal insulation of walls and floors not only maintains a comfortable atmosphere, but also significantly saves the budget during the heating season.

Among internal works, a separate place is occupied by thermal insulation of the floor. There is a huge selection of materials for thermal insulation on the market, but the most popular insulation is fiberglass and polystyrene foam. Fiberglass and mineral wool have excellent sound and heat insulating properties, they are refractory and water-repellent materials that are resistant to mechanical stress. Available as a solid board or flexible mat.

An excellent alternative can be insulation with polystyrene foam. This is a durable material that is used to insulate concrete floors, balconies and facades. Extruded polystyrene foam differs from ordinary polystyrene in higher density and strength, withstands frost well and has low thermal conductivity. Before you buy thermal insulation, you should take into account the operating conditions of the room, cost, environmental friendliness and durability of the material.

vapor barrier

In order for the thermal insulation of the room to be effective, it is necessary to create a vapor barrier layer that will protect building structures from condensation and its absorption. Vapor barrier materials are of the following types: polymer varnishes, sheet and roll materials, as well as vapor barrier film. Among such materials, Izospan has proven itself well, which you can buy in most hardware stores.

In general, before you buy a vapor barrier, you should take into account the technical characteristics of the room and decide on the most convenient way to fix the material.

Soundproofing

To improve the comfort of housing, it is worth getting rid of extraneous noise, which most often causes inconvenience to residents of block and panel houses. To achieve the maximum acoustic effect, soundproofing of walls, floors and even ceilings is used.

Among soundproofing materials, the most popular are sandwich panels, wall panels and slabs made from fibers of coniferous trees. Noise insulation of walls made in this way is considered the most environmentally friendly. You can buy soundproofing at almost any hardware store.

Mineral insulation based on quartz

ISOVER mineral wool is produced using TEL technology from high-quality quartz melt, which is confirmed by the relevant certificates and conclusions of expert organizations. Mineral insulation based on quartz is durable, environmentally friendly and belongs to the group of non-combustible materials.

ProductsISOVER based on quartz is produced according to modern technologies at the plant in Yegorievsk - one of the largest ISOVER enterprises in the world, producing more than 70,000 tons of heat and sound insulation per year. This is the only enterprise in our country that has the technology of krimping and can produce quartz products with high mechanical strength.

Quartz-based ISOVER mineral insulation and sound insulation can be divided into light and hard grades. The advantages of light grades are elasticity, light weight, snug fit to the surface, ease of installation. Light grades are produced in the form of rolls and plates, which are compressed 4-6 times in the package. This provides significant savings in the transportation and storage of material. After removing the packaging, mineral wool restores its original volume in a few minutes and can be used to insulate walls, floors, roofs, attics, ceilings or provide sound insulation as part of a partition.

Rigid grades of mineral wool based on quartz in Russia today can only be produced by ISOVER. We are talking about mineral wool for structures designed to withstand a certain load, such as: plaster facades, flat roofs, soundproof floors. To do this, in production, with the help of special equipment, the fibers of the material are redirected, giving the heat-insulating plates the necessary strength characteristics. The advantages of rigid ISOVER grades based on quartz are lower weight and faster installation of thermal insulation compared to mineral wool boards based on basalt.

Mineral insulation based on basalt

mineral insulationISOVER based on basalt made from molten rocks. The material has a wide range of applications, ranging from heat and sound insulation of premises, ending with use in refractory structures or even agriculture. Mineral wool based on basalt fiber is fire resistant solution mechanically resistant and temperature deformations.

Benefits

Mineral wool has a number of competitive advantages, due to which it has been the first choice of consumers for a long time. Among the most important characteristics of ISOVER mineral wool:
  • effective level of thermal protection;
  • high-quality sound insulation;
  • belongs to the group of non-combustible materials (in the production, melts of rocks and quartz are used);
  • vapor permeability (allows the walls to "breathe");
  • durability;
  • moisture resistance (has a hydrofibized impregnation);
  • environmental friendliness (safe for human health and the environment);
  • light weight - for light brands;
  • excellent resistance to mechanical stress - for hard grades;
  • ease of installation.
All these characteristics are achieved by a special technology for the production of ISOVER mineral wool: a different arrangement of fibers in the structure of the material increases its porosity, the possibility of sound and heat insulation. And due to the technology of crimping (corrugation of the structure) for individual products, additional resistance to high mechanical loads is provided.

Application area

ISOVER materials cover vertical, horizontal and inclined structures that require insulation and sound insulation. The product portfolio includes both universal materials suitable for complex insulation of walls, roofs, floors with one product, as well as solutions developed for each individual structure.
  • Facades with an external plaster layer

Actual solution for multi-storey, cottage and private housing construction. The popularity of this insulation system is due to the high thermal uniformity due to the absence of "cold bridges".

For facades with a thin plaster layer a heat-insulating material is needed, which, in addition to thermal protection, must serve as a supporting base for plaster layers. Choose products with high mechanical strength. Among ISOVER thermal insulation, we recommend an innovative solution made of mineral wool - ISOVER PlasterFacade (for high-rise segment) or ISOVER Facade LIGHT (for low-rise construction). For those who are accustomed to working only with stone wool, the products ISOVER Facade-Master (for cottage and low-rise construction) and ISOVER Facade or ISOVER Facade-Plus (for project development) have been created.

Facade insulation system with thick plaster layer has a base layer thickness of more than 20 mm with a movable fastening with special elements (mesh and anchors) to the walls of the building. In this design, the insulation performs the function of thermal protection and must have a minimum coefficient of thermal conductivity. For this type, a material based on ISOVER OL-E mineral wool has proven itself.
The choice of an effective material and the observance of six steps for competent insulation of the plaster facade will help to ensure a comfortable temperature in the premises and the durability of the external appearance of the building. video instruction on the insulation of a plaster facade from ISOVER experts using the example of one of the objects in Krasnodar.

  • Ventilated facades

If it is necessary to carry out construction work regardless of the season and implement a variety of architectural ideas, preference is given to a system of hinged ventilated facades using mineral wool insulation. For a single layer insulation system, common in the reconstruction of facades or construction in regions with a warm climate, we recommend using mineral wool based on quartz ISOVER VentFacade Mono or ISOVER VentFacade Optima, and on the basis of basalt or stone fiber - ISOVER Venti. As a single-layer thermal insulation as part of facade systems with an air gap on balconies and loggias of buildings, the use of ISOVER VentFacade-Niz LIGHT material is allowed.

Double layer insulation system may consist entirely of stone wool, for example, the bottom layer - ISOVER Light or ISOVER Optimal, the top layer - ISOVER Venti or ISOVER Optimal. A common option is a two-layer solution made of quartz-based mineral wool (ISOVER VentFacade Top and ISOVER VentFacade Bottom or ISOVER VentFacade-Bottom LIGHT) and a combination of mineral wool with basalt insulation, for example, ISOVER VentFacade Bottom and ISOVER Venti.

  • flat roofs

Thermal insulation for a flat roof must meet stringent requirements: provide effective heat and noise insulation, high fire resistance and durability of the roof structure, maintain its original thickness and strength at maximum load.

These requirements are met ISOVER materials as for a single-layer insulation system- ISOVER OL-P (based on quartz), ISOVER Ruf (based on stone fiber), and for two layer system. The choice here is wider - materials from mineral wool ISOVER OL-Pe and ISOVER OL-TOP, from stone wool ISOVER Ruf B, ISOVER Ruf N, ISOVER Ruf B Optimal, ISOVER Ruf N Optimal.

You can watch a video instruction on competently insulating a flat roof structure from ISOVER experts.

  • pitched roofs

For effective heat and sound insulation of a pitched roof, a special product with reduced water absorption has been developed - ISOVER Warm Roof. For those who prefer basalt wool, we recommend using ISOVER Warm Roof Master or ISOVER Optimal.

  • Frame walls

For reliable insulation and soundproofing of walls during the construction or repair of a house, summer house or apartment, we recommend the material ISOVER Warm Walls based on quartz or ISOVER Master Warm Walls based on basalt.

For frame housing construction in the project segment, ISOVER offers a series of products ISOVER Frame. They are available in mats and slabs with different levels of thermal protection.

For individual construction and insulation of the whole house with one material based on basalt, a special product ISOVER Frame House has been developed.

  • Partitions

Modern partitions made of hard cladding materials and soft fillers made of mineral wool have become an excellent alternative to massive walls for noise protection today. Mineral wool in this design absorbs a significant part of the sound energy, converting it into heat. Stone wool ISOVER Acoustic will help to achieve the maximum effect, as well as insulation based on mineral wool ISOVER Sound Protection or ISOVER Quiet House.

  • floors

Floor soundproofing can be unloaded - joist flooring, (for this case, materials ISOVER Quiet House for private housing construction and ISOVER Karkas-M40 for multi-storey construction were developed) and loadable - floating floor device. In the second case, it is possible to protect oneself from impact noise. To solve this problem, we recommend ISOVER Floor stone wool and ISOVER Floating Floor mineral wool.

A professional solution for protection against airborne noise in all types of structures for houses and apartments will be provided by mineral insulation based on basalt ISOVER Master Acoustics.

When insulating any structure, special attention must be paid to installation. Proper installation of mineral wool will provide warmth in the room, noise protection, energy savings and will allow the material to last at least 50 years while maintaining all performance characteristics.
