Bathtub installation. Acrylic bathtubs: which is better to take

The well-known company Bas has gained wide popularity due to the use of two modern technologies for reinforcing the surfaces of bathtubs. The first option is based on reinforcing the bass tub with polyester resin and special glass fiber. The second technology involves the use of absolutely safe, environmentally friendly high-density two-component polyurethane foam.

Modern bathtubs

Currently, the company's full lineup is represented by:

  • bass acrylic tubs;
  • curtains for them;
  • shower cubicles;
  • special shower enclosures.

30 modern models have classic rectangular, asymmetric and symmetrical shapes. All products are manufactured in strict accordance with advanced Italian and American technologies using original equipment.

Any Bass bath is molded using special vacuum forming machines manufactured by the well-known Italian company SELF. During the operation of such equipment, infrared heating of certain zones is used. This method allows you to bend the base sheet into any desired shape.

Popular Bass Models

To date, the bass acrylic bath is the best option in terms of price-durability for many citizens of our country. The most famous models are considered to be all corner baths, frilly curved shapes that save space and ennoble the appearance of the room.

Let's dwell on three unique models that will satisfy any requirements of the most fastidious users:

  1. Bass bath Laguna - the maximum volume of water up to the protective drain at the top is 295 liters. The depth of the side asymmetric model in the center is 44 cm, and the height of the screen itself is 55 cm. The electrical characteristics of this bath are V - 220/240. Electrical wiring for powering electronic components is made using an RCD. The standard package includes:
  • metal carcass;
  • front panel;
  • convenient removable legs for installation of a bathtub and a drain device.

Additionally, this model is equipped with: a cascade, safety handles, special jets for a relaxing massage of the back and legs, a headrest, lighting and a pillow for the switch button.

  1. Bath Bas Alegra - this model has a smaller volume. Only 220 liters. But it fits perfectly into small bathrooms in "Khrushchev". The maximum center depth is 45 cm and the screen height is 56 cm. The classic equipment is the same as the previous model, with the same additions: headrest, handles, jets, cascade, button pad and backlight. This bathtub is very practical and easy to use, popular with young couples who can easily climb over a fairly high rim. The low price is perfectly combined with high functionality. This brainchild of Bass is a new generation acrylic bathtub with a comfortable corner seat made of durable materials.
  2. Acrylic bath Bass Nicole - enough. In addition to the shape and volume, this model is no different from the previous one. The maximum volume is 290 liters. It is easy to install in the space between two walls or in a small niche, which are still found in former communal apartments. This is possible thanks to two straight sides on both sides of the product. The bed has a rectangular shape, slightly elongated on one side. If necessary, this bath can be equipped with a vertical hydromassage stand and a special original curtain for this model.

Please note: the power supply to all models is carried out through the RCD, so it is imperative to ground this device. Otherwise, the use of such a bath will be unsafe for humans.

Advantages of acrylic types of bathtubs

Recently Bass baths are gaining more and more popularity, but what are the main advantages of such devices?

Users and installers of plumbing accessories note a number of advantages of such baths.

  1. Unlike steel and cast iron counterparts, Bass acrylic bathtubs are lightweight and have very high strength, which has been inaccessible to non-metal products for a long time.
  2. Even unfilled with boiling water, they have a temperature that is pleasant for a person and does not allow the collected water to cool for a long time. This property is available through the use of acrylic, which has a very low thermal conductivity. On average, in 30 minutes the water will cool down by only one degree Celsius.
  3. All such models of baths have ergonomic shapes, specially created close to the curves of the human body.
  4. The acrylic surface is highly resistant to various mechanical damages: chips, deformations and scratches.
  5. Acrylic is able to retain its original luster for many years and does not turn yellow, as happens with enamel counterparts. In addition, they practically do not slip, which makes their use safer for children and the elderly.
  6. The surface of such baths is covered with a special antibacterial layer that prevents the development of various diseases and fungal deposits.
  7. The water is collected quite quietly, which allows you to take a bath even at night, without fear of disturbing your family and neighbors.

Tip: if you want to install a bathtub model with a hydromassage function, then first consider where it is most optimal to place additional equipment.

Conclusion

If it was decided to use Bass products, acrylic bathtubs will be purchased at the most reasonable price. And the number of various additional functions will turn the usual hygienic bathing into a real spa treatment.

High environmental friendliness and ergonomics of all models allows you to install and use these devices for comfortable bathing of babies and young children. They are easy to fit into any interior, thanks to the variety of shapes and convenient installation method. The only thing you should not forget about is the mandatory grounding of such baths. Do not be lazy and risk your health, relying on luck.

Our old jacuzzi began to smell completely, the hydromassage itself had been muffled for a long time, one nozzle burst, in general, in the trash, so that I could buy this jacuzzi again ...

The question arose which bath to buy. It will be a question of choosing an acrylic bathtub without hydromassage with a size of 140cm-155cm, an angular design, symmetrical, as they also call "a part or a quarter of a circle." Hydromassage has disappeared according to previous operating experience, I will not spread for a long time, in general - no hydromassage!

Then began studying the market for acrylic bathtubs. Of course, I didn’t really understand what was the difference between an acrylic bath for 10tr and 50tr, acrylic and acrylic. Therefore, I began to study the very bottom of the market, such brands as Triton (Triton), BAS (BAS), Aquatek, Appollo, 1Marka, maybe some other names or individual models of more expensive brands got here. I came across an Apollo sale bathtub with glass headrests, a faucet for 13tr in total, but our faucet sticks out of the wall and no one is interested in redoing it, in general, it has disappeared.

A separate conversation is online shopping. It seems that people don’t need money… On the first visit, I didn’t manage to buy any bath, even to talk about something in particular. The answer was call back and silence. Summer season, spat left for the country. There occasionally returned to this issue.

After a long study, again what size is the bathtub 140cm or 155cm, is it necessary to sit in the bathtub, so that everything is included (front panel frame, etc.) or separately. In general, we came to the model of the manufacturer BAS XATIVA (Xativa), 143x143cm. And the size is what you need and there is a seat, and a huge bottom area. We have two small children, it’s just for them to splash around there. And the price was 12800r. complete set with delivery and lifting to the floor. I finally got through to the BAS company store and lo and behold, everything was in stock and you could place an order. The order was carried out for a week, but was completed in a clearly defined time frame.

Bathtub installation BAS XATIVA(Xativa). Installers friendly to the online store were called, everything was well torn out of the old one, thrown out, and a new one was installed. BUT! The bathtub was installed, and a thin layer of sealant was walked along the walls, I thought to put tiles there, but during trial operation, the bathtub began to sag inward with delamination from the wall. Those. it’s good that I didn’t put the tile, everything would have fallen off. Those. the bathtub does not have sufficient rigidity on its own frame, there was clearly not enough support in the center of the bottom. Here I realized probably the difference between a bathroom for 10tr and 30tr. I called the same installers, after a short altercation, it was decided to fill up the perimeter with sealant and put an additional support from improvised means. In general, now no problems with deformation are visible to the eye, everything is rigid. The extra support helped.

In principle, they are satisfied with the bathroom, as naturally with any new bathroom, with some reservations about the design, which is clearly not finalized. Next time I will study the construction and thickness of the acrylic more carefully!

On a stand in a plumbing store or in a photo in an online store, an acrylic bathtub, as a rule, appears assembled. Meanwhile, products manufactured by Aquanet arrive in the regions in a disassembled state, and chain stores often supply them in the form of a kind of “Assemble it yourself” constructor. As a result, the question arises of how an acrylic bathtub is installed. .

Task one. How to assemble an acrylic bath frame

Acrylic bathtubs ordered in the Aquanet online store are delivered to the customer with an assembled frame. It remains to install it, if necessary, fix it against the wall using fasteners. Isolate the junction of the bathtub with the wall using a special self-adhesive plinth or a plastic corner, which is attached to sanitary silicone. If the faucet is already installed, you can immediately use the bathroom. To help those to whom the bath came in a disassembled state, that is, the bowl is separate from the frame, instructions are given. And here you already need to apply your abilities as a home master.

To facilitate the task of assembling the frame, the most win-win way to quickly and efficiently install an acrylic bathtub is to contact the service department. At Aquanet, this also automatically doubles the equipment warranty. By the way, service specialists can also help if the bath has arrived at its destination with an already assembled frame. In this case, the craftsmen will level the product, connect the overflow, install, if necessary, the front panel, and process the joints with sealant. That is, they will prepare a turnkey bath, taking into account all the nuances, since they perfectly know the specifics of each model. The operation of an acrylic bath in this case is possible immediately after the departure of the service masters.

If you decide to assemble the frame yourself, then you should keep in mind that the frames are individual for different models of acrylic bathtubs. Moreover, the frame designs are different not only for asymmetric or angular products with an individual shape, but also for rectangular ones. Therefore, for the installation of each model of acrylic bath, a guide has been developed that will help you understand the intricacies of the assembly. It is included with every product purchased from Aquanet.

However, there is a general procedure, unified for all models. For example, let's take a look at step by step how to assemble the frame of a corner acrylic bathtub .

Step 1. Turn the tub upside down and place it on a flat surface that will not damage or scratch the tub. At the corners of the tub, measure a distance of 40 mm from each side to determine the position of the center of the upright.

Step 2 Screw the racks into the MDF mortgages located in the corners of the bathtub, using two 3.5 * 16 self-tapping screws in each rack.

Step 3 Place the frame on the bottom of the bath so that it does not protrude beyond the dimensions of the bath, and connect it to three vertical posts with a bolt and M10 nut through holes with a diameter of 13 mm.

Step 4 Screw the frame with self-tapping screws 3.5x40 to the mortgage on the bottom of the bath in five places.

Step 5 In mortgages from MDF, which are located along the perimeter on the front side, screw the corners to stop the front panel.

Step 6 Insert supports (flags) for fixing the front panel into holes with a diameter of 13 mm on the uprights and fix with M10 lock nuts.

Step 7 Insert plastic plugs 25x25 into the open parts of the profile pipe.

Step 8 Install the legs into the holes on the frame with a diameter of 13 mm and fix them with nuts. Adjust the legs using a level. The leg height must be 640 mm.

Step 9 Install the front panel between the corners and the edge of the bathtub so that there is a 90 degree angle between the panel and the bathtub. At the same distance from the side of the bath, it is required to drill holes in the panel with a diameter of 8 mm opposite the flags.

Step 10 Screw the panel with self-tapping screws 3.5x40, then screw the decorative part of the plug.

Attention! According to SNiP (Building Norms and Rules), the height of the acrylic bathtub from the floor to the top of the bathtub should be 60 centimeters. If the bathroom is used by children, the disabled and the elderly, then this figure is less - 50 cm.

Task two. How to install an acrylic bathtub with legs

Budget models of baths, as a rule, are installed on the so-called eco-legs, and not on the frame. They come with a bathroom. You need to install them yourself. Instructions are included with each model. But let's take a look at all the nuances of installing a bath on legs together:

Step 1. On the M12 studs L = 200 mm, screw M12 nuts (locknuts) on both sides at a distance of 3-4 cm. Then, on one side, screw the M12 legs of black plastic and fix them with locknuts.

Step 2 Lay the tub upside down on a clean, flat surface. Measure the protruding part of the bathtub and mark the middle.

Step 3 Place the first load-bearing profile of the frame at the bottom of the bath, stepping back from the edge of the mortgage 50 mm. Connect the middle of the carrier profile with the middle of the mortgage and fasten it in four places with self-tapping screws 4.0 * 20, as in rice. one.

Step 4 On the drain side, measure 10 mm and install the second carrier profile

Connect the middle of the profile with the middle of the mortgage and fasten in four places with self-tapping screws 4.0 * 20.

Step 5 Install the legs into the holes with a diameter of 13 mm of the carrier profile. From the side where the front panel will be installed, install the fastening box with an M12 washer and an M12 nut. On the other hand, install the legs and fix with an M12 nut, as in rice. 2.

Step 6 Adjust the legs for height. The recommended leg height is 160 mm from the frame.

Attention! When installing the bath, the front panel, if already installed, must be removed. It must be attached to the product last.

Task three. How to fix an acrylic bath

Perhaps the easiest of the tasks. With a reliable frame for installing a bath, it is usually not attached to the wall. But for inner peace, and especially if you put the bath on eco-legs, it is better to provide a secure mount. To do this, you need to take a number of actions.

Step 1. Measure the height from the floor to the edge of the edge of the bathtub and mark the places where the corners are attached (see fig. rice. 3).

Step 2 With a drill with a diameter of 6 mm, make holes in the marked places and install the dowels where the fastening corners should be screwed.

Attention! The bath should not hang on the corners of the fixture. To prevent this, you can adjust the height of the bath with legs.

Task four. How to install the front panel

If you do not sheathe the bath with drywall and do not plan to mount it in the podium, then it is best to close the front with a front panel.

Step 1. For the upper fastening of the front panel (if it is provided), screw the mounting brackets (4 pieces) with 4 * 16 self-tapping screws into the inserts located along the perimeter from the front side of the bath. When installing the mounting bracket, provide a distance to the edge of the bath, which is equal to the thickness of the front panel.

Step 2 Screw the M10 nut onto the front panel fastening flags (M10 stud with a welded perforated plate). Insert into the holes of the corners of the frame and fix so that when installing the panel there is an angle of 90 degrees between the panel and the edge of the bath.

Step 3 Position the front panel between the mounting brackets and the front of the bath rim. Align panel. Drill two 8 mm holes at the level of the flags and at the same distance from the edge of the front panel. Screw the front panel with 4 * 16 self-tapping screws with the threaded part of the plug to the fastening flags and screw on the decorative part of the plug.

Attention! If you ordered a model with hydromassage equipment, then you need to take care to make acrylic bath grounding.

Bath care

When washing the tub, use a liquid cleaner that is harmless to acrylic and plastic surfaces (see cleaner instructions). The manufacturer offers you a specialized cleaning agent "TIM-PROFI" adapted to our products. Remove stains with a soft cloth.

Surface scratches or burn marks from cigarettes can be removed by light sanding with sandpaper (#1000/2000) and water. You can restore the shine of the surface with a liquid polishing agent.

  • Cleaning the hydraulic system of the bath

This type of cleaning is carried out using hard water (over 15 salt deposits per cubic meter of water). It is recommended to clean the bath hydraulic system at least 2 times a year as follows:

1. Fill the tub with hot water (40C).

2. Pour in liquid detergent at the rate of 2 g per 1 liter of water and start hydromassage for about 5 minutes.

3. After that, turn off the electric pump and drain the water from the bath.

4. Refill the tub with cold water and turn on the hydromassage for 2 minutes.

5. Drain and clean the bath (see "Care of the bath").

The manufacturer offers you a specialized hydraulic system cleaner adapted to our products.

WARNING: Never use metal brushes or tools, solvents or detergents with abrasive additives to remove dirt from the surface of the hot tub. Also avoid getting ammonia or chlorine on the brass and chrome parts of the tub.

  • How to use the hot tubs

It is forbidden to turn on the whirlpool bath when the hydromassage jets are closed and the water level is 5-6 cm below the jet opening. Never use the bathroom after taking alcohol or medicine. Hydromassage for therapeutic purposes can only be carried out on the advice of a doctor who will select the appropriate duration of sessions and water temperature for you.

Taking a cold bath improves your health. A warm or slightly hot bath relieves tension. To relax muscles and relieve pain, take a bath (up to 40 C). The first hydromassage session, which should be carried out only in warm water, should last no more than 10 minutes. The effect of water jet massage is directly proportional to the temperature of the water and the duration of the session. After taking a bath for too long, you may feel tired. And if you feel sleepy while taking a bath, turn off the hydromassage device for a while and cool the water.

Overweight people are contraindicated in hot tubs with a water temperature exceeding 38 C.

Before turning on the whirlpool system, make sure that the jet nozzles are not pointing upwards.

  • The simplest malfunctions, their possible causes and solutions.

  • Video instructions for assembling the frame of the acrylic bathtub Bas

Purity of soul and peace of mind - that's what any self-respecting person needs! For most of us, it is these concepts that are the goal to which we, without noticing it and without guessing, ourselves strive. As the proverb says, a healthy mind in a healthy body! The same can be said about purity: a clean body is a clean soul. Here, in order to achieve the purity of the soul, first of all it is necessary to achieve the purity of our body. And this is easy to achieve: just come after work and plunge into a hot bath. At the moment - there is nothing easier, but such a pleasure! In addition, every person sometimes needs the smallest thing - to be with himself, relax and think about the past day and future plans, and, at the same time, no one bothers him. And where do you think this can be achieved? Exactly! In bathroom! Here, to achieve the above, the equipment and decoration of this very room plays a significant role.

In modern conditions, the so-called acrylic bathtubs have received a significant variety. From this material you can get baths of any color and shape, it all depends solely on your imagination.

You can make a choice of a bath for every taste, completely corresponding to your desires. It is these requirements that meet the bas bathtubs made of acrylic, which we offer you.

Bathtubs bas have their advantages, namely:

  • the material cools down for a long time;
  • baths of this type do not lose color and do not deteriorate, they will serve for a long time;
  • high guaranteed service life (from two to ten years);
  • in case of damage, the baths are easily restored with a grout intended for this;
  • they are easy to install, operate and maintain;
  • confirmed by the corresponding certificate.

Here, in order to achieve all the above requirements, we advise you to use BAS (Bath Acril Systems) bathtubs and curtains for them. Acrylic and massage bathtubs with curtains will please any whimsical client.

Acrylic bas bathtubs are made in several stages:

  1. 1) an acrylic sheet is heated to a temperature of 130-160°C;
  2. 2) a trough of the desired shape is formed;
  3. 3) this trough is cooled;
  4. 4) the received form is fixed in the right place;
  5. 5) the outer edge of the bath is covered with epoxy resin with fiberglass in several layers (this gives rigidity and strength).

But, if the shape of the bath is too complex, then its strength will be much lower, because. plasticity of acrylic has certain limits. Therefore, you need to make a choice between the beauty of performance and reliability. If high-quality sanitary acrylic is used in the manufacture of the bathtub, then your bathtub will not be subject to corrosion, chemical and other types of influences. Hydromassage jets can be inserted into the bas acrylic bathtub. A variety of settings according to your order can provide a variety of massage modes (from pulsating to oriental). If you have an ordinary acrylic bath, then after a while you can build a hydromassage system into it, for which you only need to buy this system and call the appropriate specialist.

Consider the maintenance of our baths. Unlike cast iron or steel tubs, acrylic tubs are even easier to maintain. The only drawback is that the tub is not suitable for soaking laundry. Sanitary acrylic is non-porous, so it is not susceptible to contamination. For care, it is enough to wipe the bath with a soft sponge with a cleaning agent (liquid soap and other detergents can be used). But abrasive substances and solvents are strictly prohibited. Whirlpool tubs should be disinfected and cleaned of scale deposits annually (but not more frequently). This is done with a disinfectant or vinegar (1.5 l) added to a bath filled with water. Then we switch on for 10 minutes, drain, fill the bath, and turn it on again for 1-2 minutes. Then we wash the bath from the shower.

No matter how durable the material is, but, unfortunately, it can crack and scratch. But scratches and cracks are easily eliminated. To do this, it is necessary to grind the place of damage with sandpaper. The procedure should be carried out by constantly pouring water. When buying bathtubs, you can purchase special tools adapted to remove cracks, as well as all kinds of polishing. With proper care, your bathtub will last up to 20 years.

For any bathroom, bathtubs of the most common - rectangular shape are suitable. The choice of sizes is quite high, from very small to huge. To save space in your bathroom, you can use corner baths that can be installed in small spaces. An example is the asymmetric Alegra bath. In addition, there are also bathtubs that have common standard sizes, such as Imperial or Iris. But, if the size of your room allows you to install larger baths, then you can install a Laguna bath. The proposed choice of shapes and sizes will allow you to enjoy the procedure of taking a bath to the fullest!

A shower cabin can serve as a replacement for a hydromassage bath or as an addition to it. It is with the help of it that you can save space. A shower cabin is well suited for those people who do not particularly prefer a bath. In addition to its main function, the shower cabin has a number of additional features, such as a telephone, radio, etc. In addition, a Turkish bath and / or a hydromassage installation can be installed in the shower cabin.
