Name of tomato seed for open. Which tomato seeds are best for open field. Blue bunch F1

There is a wide range of tomato seeds in shops for gardeners, but they all differ in variety and quality. The correct choice of seeds is the key to a good harvest. Some varieties are intended for growing vegetables in a greenhouse, others for outdoor cultivation. Before buying, it is important to decide not only on the place where the tomatoes will grow, but also on the variety. Some varieties are suitable for salting, others for raw consumption. Tomatoes vary in shape, size, color and flavor. There are yellow, red, pink, brown, brindle.

With the wrong selection of plant seeds, as a result, the desired yield may not be obtained. Before buying this or that variety, you need to decide on the place of cultivation. Tomato bushes grow in a greenhouse and in the air in different ways, and they also bear a different amount of fruit. The method of growing and the rules for caring for the plant is different.

An important rule: when choosing a tomato variety or hybrid, you should pay attention to its growing conditions.

All varieties and hybrids differ in taste. They are disclosed under certain conditions. If the growing and care conditions are violated, the tomato will change its taste. According to this principle, varieties are divided:

  • For salting. Medium-sized fruits with firm pulp and a lot of sugar. Taste qualities are revealed only after salting.
  • For canning. Smaller than medium tomatoes with a firm crust that does not crack when poured with hot marinade.
  • For the salad. They can be of different sizes, weights, have a different taste and aroma, the main thing is that the fruits are sugar and with fleshy pulp.
  • For making sauces. The grains are free in the pulp, which is the main difference of the variety.

Any mature tomato can be used strictly for the intended variety or in any other capacity. However, in this case, he will not fully reveal his taste.

Greenhouse tomatoes

Before choosing a variety for growing in a greenhouse, you need to consider:

  • culinary purpose of the harvest;
  • greenhouse conditions;
  • yield level;
  • fruit collection time;
  • resistance to various diseases.

Varieties and hybrids can be grown in the greenhouse. Hybrids are crossed tomato varieties that cannot be re-planted. From varietal fruits, you can get seeds for a new harvest. Greenhouse varietal tomatoes are distinguished by high productivity, increased requirements for growing conditions. Hybrid tomatoes are more hardy, tolerate climatic changes well, and can be grown in low temperatures, for example, in Siberia, where the summer is rather cold and rainy.

As you can see, the variety of tomato varieties can overwhelm even the experienced gardener. Therefore, choosing the right seeds and choosing the best varieties, as well as the most productive for your greenhouse, is not so easy. This can be helped not only by personal experience, which may not always be crowned with success, but also by expert advice.

There is no point in describing the taste characteristics of tomato varieties without mentioning their purpose. After all, some may prefer fresh fleshy ones, while others - pickled with thin skin. Therefore, the classification of varieties according to these characteristics is based on the purpose of their cultivation: fresh consumption, canning or storage.

The dream of every tomato grower is to get, as they say, not a simple harvest, but a "golden" one. Everyone wants the plants to bypass diseases, and the fruits to grow large, tasty and in large quantities. One of the main factors that can satisfy these requirements is the correct selection of seed material, namely high-yielding tomato varieties. These types of tomatoes are especially valuable for owners of small land plots, because they allow you to provide a family with fresh vegetables by planting only a few tomato beds. There is no surplus in such a case - fruits that have not been eaten can always be preserved or sold to neighbors. What can we say about growing crops on an industrial scale, when profit directly depends on the amount of goods.

Variety selection criteria

Before you go to the store to buy seeds, you should decide on some questions, namely:

No matter what high-yielding tomato variety you choose, the main thing is that it must be zoned, that is, adapted to local climatic conditions.

Even the most high-yielding thermophilic species, bearing abundant fruit in the southern zone, will lose this ability in the northern latitudes, moreover, they will start to get sick.

The best tomatoes for greenhouse cultivation

In early spring, you will have to pay a decent amount for the first fresh tomatoes, but even this fact does not guarantee the quality of the vegetables. It's good if the tomatoes are “local” and come to the market from the nearest greenhouse. If the owners are decent people, there is at least a chance that there will be a minimum of "chemistry" in the fruits. But in supermarkets there is a risk of getting on imported tomatoes that have neither taste nor smell. The benefits of such "vitamins" are zero, but they can do plenty of harm, ranging from simple allergies to intestinal upset.

Many gardeners, in order not to worry about such issues, grow vegetables on their own. Having even a small film cover in your possession, it is easy to provide half of the street with tomatoes if you use abundantly fruiting varieties. It is important that in such conditions, both table species and tomatoes, which are used for winter harvesting, grow well.

By using varieties with different ripening times, fresh vegetables can be harvested almost all year round.

Harvest salad varieties of tomatoes for the greenhouse

Some of the most delicious and fruitful salad tomato varieties for greenhouse cultivation are:

High-yielding greenhouse varieties of tomatoes for conservation

In greenhouses, not only lettuce tomatoes are planted. For residents of the northern regions, this is a good opportunity to independently provide themselves with vegetables for winter harvesting.

When choosing species, preference should be given to plentifully fruiting varieties with dense fruits.

Some of the most productive varieties of tomatoes grown in a greenhouse for conservation are:

Harvest varieties of tomatoes for open ground

The southern regions do not need greenhouses for growing tomatoes: an abundance of sun, warm weather, long summer and they themselves create ideal conditions for the development and fruiting of crops. However, in order not to depend on the vagaries of nature, it is also better to use proven varieties, which, not to the detriment of yield, have an increased immunity to weather changes and firmly endure both heat and a long rainy summer.

Salad varieties of tomatoes for growing in the open field

Such fruitful varieties of tomatoes for open ground for table use are very popular among gardeners:

Fruitful canned tomatoes for open field

Although lettuce tomatoes are delicious, not all of them can be used for winter preparations. For example, whole large-fruited fruits are not suitable for seaming entirely (they simply will not fit into the jar), while other species have too soft pulp and thin skin.

In this case, select medium-sized tomatoes for seedlings with dense fruits that cover the bush in abundance, or species with long-term fruiting.

Some of the most fruitful and delicious canned tomatoes for open ground are the following varieties:

You can list it for a long time, but you need to understand that the quality and quantity of the crop depends on the specific conditions for growing tomatoes and caring for them. If you want plants to thank you with an abundance of delicious fruits, give them a little attention, but it still does not hurt to focus on specialized varieties.

Varieties of productive tomatoes for open ground - video

Outdoor tomatoes can produce excellent yields regardless of climatic and weather conditions if the variety is selected correctly. When choosing, you need to focus not on external signs, although this also matters, but on the resistance of the variety to drought, low temperatures, and numerous diseases. But the assortment of seeds is incredibly wide, and many are simply lost in such a variety. How to avoid mistakes when buying and choose only the right tomato seeds?

First of all, the variety must be as adapted to local conditions as possible. This applies not only to the climate, but also to soil characteristics, since soil fertility in different regions can differ significantly. For example, tomatoes for the southern regions are undemanding to the soil, they can bear fruit well both on black soil and on mixed soil, they are resistant to heat. They even have leaves arranged so as to cover the fruits from the sun.

For the northern regions, varieties with increased cold resistance, early ripening, but more demanding on the composition of the soil have been bred. Their leaves are smaller in size, are located less frequently so that the fruits receive maximum heat and light. In the south, such tomatoes age quickly under the bright sun and cannot produce a full harvest. Unfortunately, not all manufacturers indicate on the packaging for which region the variety is intended, and therefore you often have to look for such information yourself.

An equally important criterion is the ripening period. As a rule, the choice for the regions of the northern and eastern parts of the country is limited to ultra-early and early varieties, which have time to bear fruit in a short summer. In the Middle Lane and most of the western regions, the assortment of seeds is much wider - mid-season and mid-late varieties are added. Well, the largest selection, of course, is in the south, where you can get harvest even from late varieties.

As you know, for normal fruiting, tomato bushes must be pinned and tied up. It takes a lot of time and requires some effort. If you do not have the desire or opportunity to provide such care, choose undersized varieties that do not need pinching. The compact bushes do not take up much space, they are easy to care for, the fruits ripen early and amicably. This information is usually indicated on the packaging.

The classification by type of growth also needs to be considered when purchasing seeds:

  • indeterminate - bushes with unlimited growth of the central stem, late ripening. As a rule, they are grown in greenhouses, although they can grow and bear fruit in the south of the country in the open field;
  • determinant - bushes of medium height, early maturing. Designed for open ground in different regions of the country;
  • superdeterminate - ultra-early maturing, low-growing varieties, best suited for areas with cold climates.

And the last factor is the purpose of the crop. Here the choice depends on exactly how you are going to use tomatoes: in salads, for pickling, for processing into juice or preservation. Based on this, the following categories of tomatoes are distinguished:

Fruit color, shape, flavor and size are additional criteria, and the choice depends solely on personal preference.

Hybrid or variety

When choosing tomato seeds, every novice gardener asks the question which is better - a hybrid or a pure variety? To decide, you need to familiarize yourself in more detail with their pros and cons.

  1. Advantages of the variety: persistent characteristics of plants, the possibility of self-harvesting of seeds, low cost of seed material upon purchase.
  2. Cons: The varieties are less resistant to disease than hybrids and yield lower yields compared to them.
  3. Pluses of the hybrid: very high yields, amicable fruiting, presentation of fruits, resistance to diseases.
  4. Cons: high price of seeds, impossibility of self-collection of planting material.

If you are going to grow tomatoes only for your own needs, it is advisable to purchase varietal tomato seeds. It is easy to care for a small area, so it will not be difficult to protect plantings from diseases and pests. For growing for sale, hybrid seeds are more suitable, since the harvest will more than cover all the costs.

We will tell you about new varieties of tomatoes, as well as give a brief description and analysis of the varieties you already know. We bring you the best tomato seeds.

New varieties of tomato seeds

"Raja" - undersized, early, dark red, large-fruited (up to 300 g). "Hermitage" is a variety suitable for the North-West, early, abundant, with even round red fruits weighing about 100 g.

The Resource hybrid has red fruits weighing up to 150 g and bears fruit for a long time. The hybrids "Sister", "Delight" and "Elton Jones" have the same properties, but in the latter the fruits look like small oranges. The Torbay hybrid belongs to salad tomatoes, its pink fruits weigh more than 200 g.

The large-fruited hybrid "Russian Troika" with a height of only 50-60 cm yields fruits weighing about 200 g, and the hybrid "Major" is generally a decoration of the garden, since a low bush will give birth to fruits weighing up to 300 g! The same large fruits are produced by the hybrids "Simona", "Darling", "Couplet", "Tuz" and varieties "Chosen" and "Hazel".

New varieties resistant to unfavorable weather conditions have appeared in the northern collection - "Fox" with orange fruits weighing about 120 g and "Baltic" with fleshy sweet, red fruits about 150 g.

Small-fruited low-growing tomatoes, suitable for low greenhouses... "Skorokhod" is a plentiful, unpretentious variety, only 50 cm high (and therefore suitable for small greenhouses), bears fruit abundantly with medium-sized red fruits.

The firm "Biotekhnika" offers this season the varieties "Ledenec" (unpretentious, with red small fruits up to 40 g), "Gem Emerald" (high, multiple, with small (30-40 g) green plum fruits), -105 "(also for salad purposes, determinant, fruits of 50-80 g) and" Raisin "(early undersized, with small dense pink fruits).

The best varieties of tomatoes for open ground.

Tomatoes of the Siberian series for open ground (low - up to 80 cm, but large-fruited): "Siberian trump card", "Uvalen", "Lyuban". In addition to them, new, very early ripening tomatoes "Buyan", "Leader of the Redskins", "Flash", "Pink Souvenir", "Blush of Petersburg", "Sunny Bunny", "Nimble" are suitable for open ground.

Ultra-ripe tomatoes... Of greatest interest are ultra-early ripening varieties and hybrids, because even in cold and short summer conditions, they can be grown without seedlings. But for this it is necessary to sow in the very first days of May under a good shelter, immediately in place, necessarily on insulated soil (for example, on a 10-12-centimeter layer of down and feathers from an old pillow under the soil to a depth of 15-20 cm). Usually, these tomatoes are just recommended for open ground. As a rule, their fruits do not exceed 100-150 g, and the height of the plants is about 50 cm. These tomatoes usually do not feed. From the varieties (you can take your own seeds) these are "Flash", "Buyan", "Pink Souvenir", "Sunny Bunny" and "Duckling". From hybrids (you cannot use your seeds, because they are often underdeveloped and do not transmit their properties to the offspring, and therefore it is not known what will grow from such seeds) tomatoes can be called "Leader of the Redskins", "Katya", "Ninulya", "Blush Petersburg "," Nimble "," Solerosso ", which mature in the open field even near St. Petersburg. There are also large-fruited superearly hybrids "Bringing good luck" and "Gayas Bekseev", which produce fruits weighing about 200 g and more. Of course, all of these tomatoes grow well in greenhouses.

Note. In the North-West, it is better not to plant tomatoes in open ground. They should be kept under cover (better not under a film, but under a double lutrasil or spunbond). In practice, they never fully ripen, and very often a beautiful green fruit, when cut inside, turns out to be affected by late blight.

Small-fruited tall tomatoes for tall greenhouses. From early ripening varieties "Bon Appetita" has small red fruits weighing about 100 g, but there are up to 100 of them, and most importantly, the fruits are tied in any weather. “Red Caramel” and “Yellow Caramel” are plum-shaped, small-fruited (only about 40 g), but very abundant, sweet and decorative hybrids with a long fruiting period.

Large-fruited tall tomatoes for tall greenhouses. Hybrid "Semko" - disease-resistant, early maturing, with fleshy sweet red fruits 200-400 g each, as well as "Semko 18", F1 hybrids ("Big person" - large red, "Juggler" - red). The firm "Sedek" has put on sale the varieties of the Siberian series "Velmozha" (pink large-fruited), "Raspberry Meat" (large), as well as its own varieties "Pink Tsar" (tall, salad-grade, with fruits up to 300 g of raspberry color) , "Raspberry delicacy" (tall, with dense dark pink fruits up to 300 g).

Firm "Poisk" released "Sherry Lady" (a Dutch early hybrid with lined dense, bright red round fruits 200 g), "Ikarus" (salad variety, tall, with large red fruits 300 g), "Trump" (with red fruits up to 200 g), "Rose-Marine" (tall variety with large pink fruits 550 g).

Semko-Junior delighted us with the Diorange (stress-resistant, early, up to 180 g) and Malika hybrids, as well as the Townsville variety - an early maturing Dutch hybrid up to 150 cm tall, with round fleshy red fruits 150-180 G.

Firm "Gavrish": "Poznan" (early ripening, tall, racemose, orange), "Dobrun" (high, maturing, with fruits up to 150 g).

From last year's novelties, we can recommend the "Tyutchev" tomato (red fruits weighing 400-500 g). From mid-ripening tomatoes, a group of hybrids "Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov" can be distinguished with red fruits weighing about 230 g; they have a long shelf life. Two hybrids - "Zhenaros" and "Bella" - produce red fruits weighing more than 300 g. Interesting in that they can set fruits at high temperatures (as you know, usually tomato pollen is sterilized at temperatures above 35-40 ° C, and in summer in greenhouses without forced ventilation, the temperature usually reaches 40-42 ° C).

The "Caliber" hybrid has red fruits weighing about 200 g for salad purposes, the "Ognivo" hybrid is distinguished by abundant fruiting, and the "Poet" hybrid is resistant to temperature fluctuations and sets fruits in any weather (the flesh is fleshy, tasty, the fruits can reach a weight of 600-650 G). The Sancho Panza hybrid has fleshy, slightly flattened, tasty yellow fruits and a long fruiting period.

The "Chance" hybrid gives pink fleshy fruits weighing about 300 g, bears fruit for a long time and abundantly. Excellent varieties have the same characteristics (you can take seeds from your own fruits) from the Siberian Seeds series. These are "Sevryuga" with salmon-pink fruits in the form of funtik, "Golden domes" with yellow dome-shaped fruits, "Bear's paw" with red meaty fruits, "Sugar buffalo", "Three fat men" and many others of this the same series. In Siberia, their fruits reach 800-1200 g, in the North-West - only 350-450 g. They are distinguished by good taste, long and abundant fruiting.

For lovers of large tomatoes, you can also recommend varieties"Raspberry Surprise" with fruits up to 700 g, "King-Giant" and "Eternal Call" with red fruits weighing up to 1000 g, as well as "Pink Honey", the pink fruits of which can reach 1500 g in Siberia!
