The use of plants by humans, including medicinal ones, began a long time ago. Medicinal plants are the most important source of production of medicines. About half of all medicines are made from plants. The cultivation of medicinal plants on the site of a kindergarten can provide significant practical help to people; it is of great cognitive and educational value for children. Medicinal plants are not difficult to grow from seeds, they can be propagated by cuttings or by dividing bulbs. Caring for a green pharmacy is not difficult, it consists in loosening the soil, weeding and feeding the plants.
ABOUTdandelion medicinal
is one of the most common perennials in the Aster family. Leaves are smooth, bright yellow, ligulate, in large baskets. Fruits are achenes with a tuft. The plant blooms from April to September. Its roots contain glycocide, taraxocin, tannin, vitamin A, 2-3% rubber. For medicinal purposes, mainly roots are used. They are used to stimulate appetite, improve digestion, as a choleretic agent. In the spring, a vitamin salad is prepared from dandelion leaves (the leaves are pre-soaked in salt water).
Stinging nettle –
it is a perennial herb of the nettle family. The leaves and stem of the nettle are covered with small stinging hairs that burn the skin. Nettle leaves contain a large amount of organic acids, vitamins, trace elements, tannins, phytoncides. Vitamin C in nettles is 2, 5 times more than in lemons and 10 times more than in apples and potatoes. Green cabbage soup and salads can be made from young nettle leaves. For medicinal purposes, both fresh and dried nettles are used. The plant is used as a hemostatic, as well as a diuretic.
pharmaceutical camomile –
an annual odorous plant with a thin, branched stem and pinnate, narrow-linear leaves. It reproduces by seeds, is unpretentious, easily tolerates the change of weather. But she needs a well-lit place, loosening and good tillage. Chamomile contains essential oils. Chamomile is used for gastrointestinal diseases, as a diaphoretic, enveloping, pain reliever, as well as for diseases of the kidneys and biliary tract.
Cornflowers –
belong to the Asteraceae family. It is an annual, herbaceous plant. In folk medicine, the plant is used as an eye lotion, as an anti-febrile agent, and is an integral part of some diuretic teas. Only the bright blue marginal flowers of cornflowers have healing properties.
Calendula,
or marigolds of the Aster family - a brightly colored annual plant. It is long-lasting and plentiful in bloom, has a pleasant smell. It has long been used in decorative floriculture. Infusion and ointments of calendula are widely used in medicine. Alcoholic tinctures of calendula flowers are an excellent bactericidal and anti-inflammatory agent for angina, diseases of the oral mucosa, cuts, and purulent wounds.
Matb- and - stepmother
appears on thawed patches in early April. This perennial plant is similar to a dandelion, but much smaller in size. Flowers - baskets are on the stem, covered with brownish scales (modified leaves).
At night and in bad weather, the flower of the mother-and-stepmother tightly closes its petals. Much later, when the plant fades, heart-shaped brown leaves grow. Above they are bright green, shiny, harsh, cold, but below the leaves are covered with thick white velvety fluff, which, if you put it to your hand, heats. From which, apparently, the name originated.
Tincture of flowers and leaves of this plant is used for colds, coughs, and also to stimulate appetite.
Wild strawberry -
perennial herb of the Rosaceae family. Thin roots and long ground creeping shoots-whiskers depart from the rhizome. Strawberry blooms in May-June. The berries are white to dark crimson in color and have a unique smell. The nutritional value of strawberries should be noted. This is a real piggy bank of substances useful for the body, where there is sugar, various organic acids, pectin and tannins, essential oils, trace elements, vitamins C, B. For medicinal purposes, buds, young leaves, birch sap, as well as birch tar and charcoal are used. In scientific medicine, the infusion of birch buds is used as a choleretic, disinfectant. Birch tar in ointments and pastes is used to treat skin diseases, to heal wounds and burns.
Natural objects of study
It is known that familiarization with any subject or phenomenon gives the most optimal result if it is effective. It is necessary to provide children with the opportunity to "act" with the studied objects of the surrounding world. During the research work, all the senses are involved: the child listens attentively, peers, touches, sniffs, tries. The active vocabulary is enriched, the regulating and planning function of speech is being improved. In summer, plants and animals are in the baby's field of vision for most of the day. Children can learn about the properties, qualities, relationships of these natural objects and their use in the process of simple experiments and experiments.

You can always take one leaflet with a poem for a walk with your baby. And on a walk, get it out, look at the picture with the child, read a poem to the child from this leaflet. A sheet from a folder looks very aesthetically pleasing and is convenient to look at with a baby, it is lightweight and does not take up much space like a book or album. Then, together with the baby, you can examine the nature around and find signs of autumn - the same as in the picture or in the poem from the folder.
Valuable insight from mom's experience: Many parents hang sheets of folders on the refrigerator (change them) or on a home magnetic board and look at it with their children. These sheets serve as a cheat sheet - a reminder of a poem or a planned fall game with a child for today.
