Penoplex application in construction. Standard sizes of Penoplex. Types and characteristics. Comparison with analogues. Description and production of penoplex

If earlier the range of thermal insulation materials was not rich enough, today customers have a wide choice of heaters with different properties and performance characteristics. This means that a homeowner with any budget can choose the right option. Today, penoplex is rightfully recognized as one of the most popular materials, which is in great demand and occupies a leading position in the market of thermal insulation coatings. Today we will understand in detail what it is, find out where it is used and how this popular insulation is mounted.

What it is?

Surely every person at least once in his life heard about such a building material as penoplex. However, not every consumer knows what lies under this name.

Penoplex is a well-known trade name for high-quality extruded polystyrene. Today this material is in the lead in the market of heaters. They often cover walls, ceiling structures, roofing bases and even floors.

Features and production

Penoplex is a high-quality foamed polystyrene. This type of material is obtained by extrusion.

A similar production process was developed more than half a century ago in American laboratories. Thus, a completely new material appeared, the structure of which consisted of closed microscopic cells. From the very beginning, their dimensions did not exceed 0.2 mm. In a single structure, these components created a neat and uniform surface without potholes and drops.

In the granules of this polymer there is a special additive that has a foaming effect. This component is combined with granules under pressure or under conditions of heating to a certain temperature. The result is a mass that is then passed through an extruder.

Foaming components (as a rule, they are represented by carbon dioxide or a mixture of light freons) are non-toxic and absolutely safe from an environmental point of view. In addition, these components are non-flammable.

When the manufacturing process is completed, all auxiliary components are replaced by air from the environment.

The result is a high-tech thermal insulation material with excellent performance characteristics. With its use in the home, it becomes much warmer and more comfortable - a comfortable microclimate is created that you don’t want to leave.

The main distinguishing features of penoplex are:

 • low level of thermal conductivity;
 • good strength characteristics;
 • minimum level of moisture absorption.

As a rule, this insulation is packaged in a film that protects it from aggressive sunlight. Thanks to such packaging, such material can be safely stored outdoors. However, it is worth considering that even in the presence of plastic packaging, it is necessary to additionally protect the product from ultraviolet radiation.

Under the influence of UV rays, this insulation may lose the integrity of the top layer.

Advantages and disadvantages

Penoplex is a popular material that is in great demand. Its popularity is due to many positive qualities:

 • Penoplex is a hydrophobic material.
 • It is light in weight, so it is quite easy to work with it. Moreover, you will not spend a lot of money on transporting this material.
 • Penoplex is distinguished by excellent strength characteristics. It is not so easy to damage this material - it is not subject to the appearance of mechanical defects.
 • The composition of this heat-insulating coating is anti-corrosion, so it can be safely laid on bases consisting of a variety of materials.
 • Penoplex installation can be started in almost any conditions. You do not have to wait for the right moment to proceed with the installation of plates.

 • This insulation does not attract the attention of insects and rodents, which, as a rule, are quite difficult to get rid of.
 • Penoplex is an environmentally friendly and safe material - it does not adversely affect human health.
 • Penoplex is easy to install. With a minimum set of knowledge, you can install this heater yourself.
 • Many buyers prefer this heater, as it has a reasonable price.
 • Penoplex is characterized by minimal water absorption.
 • Penoplex does not cause allergic reactions.

 • This material is quite strong in compression.
 • Such insulation is universal - modern manufacturers produce high-quality coatings designed not only for walls, but also for floors and roofing "pie".
 • Penoplex is not subject to decay, which once again confirms its durability and wear resistance.
 • This material has a long service life.
 • Such extruded polystyrene can be used both in the construction of new buildings and in the restoration of old buildings.

Penoplex is not an ideal heat-insulating material. It has its own weaknesses, which you should also be aware of if you decide to purchase such products for your home. Among them:

 • This material is combustible. It burns and actively supports combustion.
 • Penoplex does not withstand contact with solvents. Under their influence, polystyrene is destroyed and deformed.
 • Not all manufacturers offer penoplex at affordable prices. In many stores there are expensive products.

 • Another disadvantage of penoplex is its low vapor permeability (in certain situations). For example, if this material is installed incorrectly or exposed to adverse conditions, condensation (from the outside) may accumulate in it. That is why this material becomes susceptible to the formation of fungus and mold. To avoid such problems, the room must be provided with good ventilation, otherwise normal air exchange will be hopelessly disrupted.
 • This material for high-quality thermal insulation cannot boast of good adhesion. It has an absolutely smooth surface, so gluing it to walls and ceilings is often not very convenient.

 • This thermal insulation material is recommended to be protected from direct sunlight. Under their influence, the penoplex may undergo deformation or damage to the upper layer.
 • To make extruded polystyrene more resistant to fire, special substances are added to it during the production process - fire retardants. Materials with such additives become self-extinguishing, but when burning or smoldering, this insulation will emit black clouds of smoke with toxic compounds.

Of course, penoplex has much more positive qualities than negative ones.

Many of the problems associated with this material can be avoided if installed correctly.

Specifications

The main characteristics of penoplex include:

 • low level of vapor permeability, the coefficient of which is 0.03 W / mºK;
 • high strength characteristics (both in compression and in bending);
 • low level of moisture absorption - no more than 0.2-0.4% by volume per day;
 • low degree of vapor permeability - the coefficient of this parameter ranges from 0.007 to 0.008 mg / mh Pa);
 • service life exceeds 50 years;
 • resistance to burning;
 • environmental Safety;
 • large temperature range of application, which ranges from -50 to +75 degrees.

Due to its technical characteristics, penoplex has become a popular and sought-after material. It is difficult to damage or break. However, unfortunately, it is flammable.

Different types of penoplex belong to different flammability classes:

 • materials for roof insulation - class G3;
 • for wall insulation - G3;
 • for foundations - G4;
 • universal heaters - G4;
 • road materials - G4.

In addition, all of the listed thermal insulation materials have different compressive densities, for example:

 • for roofing - 0.25 MPa;
 • for walls - 0.2 MPa;
 • for the foundation - 0.25 MPa;
 • universal - 0.2 MPa;
 • road - 0.50 MPa.

Extruded polystyrene foam boasts good resistance to various chemicals and materials. These include:

 • antiseptics designed to protect natural wood;
 • bituminous mixtures;
 • cement;
 • lime.

Foreign materials can destroy penoplex, which include a component such as a solvent. Such products soften the polystyrene, which then leads to its significant shrinkage.

When working with penoplex, the following mixtures should be avoided:

 • paint thinners;
 • coal tar (and any of its derivatives);
 • solvents such as acetone and ethyl acetate.

Brands and sizes

Currently, in the market of building and finishing materials, the most popular and common are high-quality products with the following markings:

 • 45 C;

Let's analyze each label in detail:

 • Penoplex 31. This is a type of material that does not have the highest strength characteristics. Such coatings are not recommended for use in areas where there is a large load. As a rule, such foam is used to insulate tanks and pipelines.
 • 31 C. Materials that have such a marking also cannot boast of sufficient strength. They are most often used to insulate walls inside the home. Such foam plastic differs from class 3 raw materials in a higher level of flammability.
 • 35. The heat-insulating material with this marking has good strength characteristics. In addition, it is characterized by excellent insulating qualities. With the use of such coatings, foundations, floors and pipes passing underground are insulated.

 • 45. There is also penoplex marked 45. This type of material is used for warming runways, arranging road surfaces. Moreover, such heaters are ideal for finishing floors in industrial areas and other similar premises.
 • 45 C. The material with this marking has almost the same parameters as I foam 45. It is quite reliable and durable. However, such a heater is more often used for wall decoration in industrial areas.
 • 75. Such marking belongs to special materials that have a density of 40-53 kg / m3. Such raw materials are most often used in the construction of runways located at airfields.

Penoplex, belonging to the "standard" class with a density of 25-31 kg / m3, has the following technical characteristics:

 • width - 600;
 • length - 1200;

Comfort type material (28-33 kg/m3) has the following dimensions:

 • width - 600;
 • length - 1200;
 • thickness - 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 100.

Foundation material with a density of 29-33 kg / m3 has similar dimensions. As for the insulation "45" (35-47 kg / m3), then its data are as follows:

 • width - 600;
 • length - 2400;
 • thickness - 40, 50, 60, 80, 100.

These parameters are indicative. First of all, the dimensions of extruded polystyrene depend on the manufacturer who put them on the market.

Now in stores you can find non-standard canvases.

Types and properties

Penoplex is a popular and sought-after material. It is represented by many modifications, each of which has its own marking and designation. Currently, there are several varieties of this thermal insulation coating.

"Wall"

The density of such extruded polystyrene can be from 25 to 32 kg/m3. This heat-insulating material is perfect for installation on external and internal ceilings. In addition, penoplex "wall" can be used in the design of partitions and basements. Thanks to this material, the sound insulation characteristics of the room are increased.

"Foundation"

No less popular today is such material as penoplex "foundation". Its density varies from 29 to 33 kg/m3. You can safely turn to this coating if you want to insulate the foundation and the upper part of the basement. Such material is characterized by high density and water resistance. In addition, this insulation is often used for thermal insulation of septic tanks with a significant recess.

"Roof"

Another common and popular material is foam "roof". Similar products are produced directly for the insulation of rafter or flat types of roofs. Also, material from the "roofing" category can be used to isolate attic structures. The density of this brand, as a rule, is from 28 to 33 kg / m3. This material is light and does not put a lot of stress on the roof sheathing.

"Comfort"

Comfort products are in great demand today. Such materials have a density of 25-35 kg/m3. They are used to insulate walls in apartments. For example, it may be the territory of a balcony or loggia. It is acceptable to use such a coating in the conditions of baths and saunas.

"Geo"

Penoplex "geo" is an alternative to materials belonging to the "foundation" class. Such coatings are more often used in industrial and civil construction works. It should be noted that the plates of this insulation are often used for facing floors, foundations and other similar

"The foundation"

Penoplex from this category has an optimal density that allows it to be used in a variety of construction work. Such insulation is laid on the floor, walls and roofing bases. Penoplex "base" is popular due to its durability and versatility of use - it is often used in both civil and industrial construction.

"Pitched roof"

Especially for the insulation of roofs, a penoplex "pitched roof" was developed. Such a coating is ideal for laying on the foundations of low-rise buildings. As a rule, this heat-insulating material has a thickness of 10 and 15 cm.

"Facade"

The name of this type of penoplex speaks for itself. It is used for insulation of plinths, facades, external parts of ceilings and partitions. On such a material there is a special milled surface, on which plaster is much easier and more reliable. The thickness of the foam plastic "facade" is 20-100 mm.

Scope of application

Penoplex is recognized as one of the most popular and high-tech materials, so it is used in many cases:

 • A similar thermal insulation material is used to insulate walls, roofing bases and floors.
 • Many buyers choose penoplex to insulate the foundation.
 • There are also materials that are used in road construction and the construction of runways.
 • Some types of insulation are installed in balconies, loggias, baths and saunas.

The main thing is to choose the material of a suitable class and type.

What can be replaced?

There are times when penoplex for some reason is not in stores. A little less often, consumers themselves refuse to purchase this material due to high cost or flammability. Many are wondering what can replace this insulation in such situations.

A good alternative to penoplex is a domestic material called Technoplex. This insulation is in great demand today and is a strong competitor to branded products of the Penoplex brand. It is good because it seamlessly lays down on bases made of a variety of materials. In addition, it can be safely laid on the floor, as it is permissible to combine it with the "warm floor" system.

Currently, "Technoplex" is produced using a special nanotechnology. In this case, graphite is used, which significantly reduces the level of thermal conductivity of the insulation, but at the same time increases the rigidity and wear resistance of the plates.

This material has a silver-gray color, which distinguishes it from foam. However, Technoplex has the same positive qualities as extruded polystyrene. That is why these materials are interchangeable.

"Technoplex" is made in a tiled format. Such thermal insulation materials can have the following thickness:

 • 100 mm;
 • 50 mm;
 • 40 mm;
 • 30 mm;
 • 20 mm.

At the same time, the plates of such insulation are produced with grooves and spikes, with which they can be easily and quickly assembled, forming a neat seamless coating. Due to the absence of gaps on such an insulating layer, “cold bridges” do not appear on the bases.

After the installation is completed, such material as "Technoplex" must be covered with decorative finishing materials without fail.

This requirement is explained by the fact that aggressive ultraviolet rays can adversely affect the quality and integrity of the insulation, so it must be “hidden” behind other coatings.

Another popular analogue of penoplex is Polispen. This heater is also produced in Russia. It is currently available in three variations., having different technical characteristics, which include the coefficient of thermal conductivity, strength, as well as the level of combustibility and compression:

 • "Polyspen 45";
 • "Polyspen 35";
 • "Polyspen universal".

As part of such an analogue of penoplex, there is a fire retardant. Thanks to this component, Polispen is less flammable. Similar materials are produced in the form of plates with a thickness of 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 200 mm. Thanks to this choice, it will be possible to choose a heater for a particular area.

Penoplex can also be replaced with the following heat-insulating materials:

 • "Styrex". Such material is quite strong and durable. The level of its thermal conductivity is slightly less than that of foam.
 • "Extrol". This is another polystyrene foam insulation that goes through extrusion during the manufacturing process. It has much in common with penoplex, but it is produced in the form of cylindrical elements, convenient for insulating plumbing systems.
 • Styrofoam. Styrofoam (without extrusion) is often used instead of foam. It is much cheaper than extruded polystyrene, but at the same time it is less strong and durable.

If the speech insulation will be subjected to constant exposure to high temperatures, then it is better to give preference to mineral wool. This type of thermal insulation material today is one of the most popular and in demand.

By her own mineral wool- This is a fibrous insulation of inorganic origin. This heater has many positive qualities, for example:

 • fairly high thermal insulation performance;
 • waterproofness;
 • resistance to aggressive chemicals;
 • good air exchange;
 • excellent sound insulation characteristics;
 • fire resistance;
 • long service life (25-50 years);
 • environmental friendliness.

Installation technology

Laying penoplex on one or another basis can be done by hand. You do not need to have rich experience and cunning knowledge for this. The main thing is to adhere to simple technology and use high-quality materials.

It was previously mentioned that the installation of extruded polystyrene foam can be done both inside and outside the dwelling.

Consider step by step how to install this material in all of these cases.

inside the building

Penoplex can be installed in the inside of the house. All work is done as follows:

 • First you need to carefully prepare the base for laying the insulation. In this case, you need to remove the old materials from the walls (any wallpaper, paintwork, etc.), without missing a single section.
 • Next, the base must be protected from fungus and mold. If they have already appeared, then they should be disposed of. For this, it is recommended to use special antiseptic compounds. After that, it is necessary to carry out sanitization. To do this, you can use almost any means that have an antibacterial effect.
 • Pay attention to the evenness of the bases. So, the walls should not have significant drops and potholes. You need to get rid of any defects - level the bases, and then prime them with a high-quality composition.

 • Next, you can proceed to the assembly of the base profile. Such structures are most often used to facilitate the installation of insulation. In addition, profile parts will protect the heat-insulating coating from adverse external factors.
 • The base profile should be attached to the base with dowel-nails. In order for the insulation to fit more tightly to the ceilings, they can be supplemented with gasket washers.
 • Be sure to follow the correspondence of the profile width to the thickness of the foam.
 • With the use of docking plates, the final components of the structure must be docked with each other. Be sure to leave a small gap between them (about 2 cm).
 • Now you can mount the styrofoam boards. Apply a layer of glue to the foam plastic (along the perimeter of the plate and in its center).

 • Many craftsmen recommend not saving at this stage and thoroughly smearing the entire polystyrene foam plate with an adhesive solution. After that, the insulation must be pressed against the profile. If protruding particles of glue appear on the materials, they must be removed immediately.
 • If there are small gaps between the materials, then you can get rid of them by filling them with inserts from polystyrene foam pieces. Not everyone uses mounting foam in this situation, since such sealing can cause cracks to appear.
 • After that, it remains to make the final fixing of the thermal material on the base. When the glue is completely dry (as a rule, it takes about 3 days), work can be continued. Dowels-fungi need to fix the insulation. Hardware should be placed in the middle of the plates, as well as along their perimeter. However, here it is necessary to calculate that in the end all the foam sheets are connected.

It should be borne in mind that warming the home from the inside is not always appropriate and appropriate.

The main disadvantage of such work is the reduction of living and free space due to the thickness of the materials, as well as the profile design.

Outside

According to experts, the external insulation of the house is more practical and convenient. At the same time, free space is not hidden, and dirt and dust that remain during work does not accumulate inside the premises.

For external insulation, foam plastic is most often used, having a thickness of 80-100 mm. The process of installing heat-insulating material in this case is in many ways similar to internal insulation.

To begin with, the facade of the house needs to be leveled. If there are cracks or potholes on it, then it is imperative to get rid of them - repair, and then primed.

Penoplex is glued to the facade base in the same way as with the internal insulation of the home. In a similar way, fastening to dowels occurs.

If you want to plaster the facade in the future, then as a preparatory work, you need to glue the reinforced mesh. If you want to finish the house with siding or PVC panels, then you need to take care of the vertical guides in advance in order to securely fix them. In this case, an additional layer of vapor barrier material is not needed.

On the roof

Penoplex is ideal for strengthening the roof. Not only beginners, but also experienced craftsmen turn to this heater.

 • Insulation boards can only be laid after the roof frame structures have been prepared.(crate). On the lower section of the rafters near the insulated zone, you need to nail a bar. Its thickness should be the same as the thickness of the insulation. This part will play the role of a starting rail. This element must be set at an equal distance from the edge (along all rafter supports).
 • Starting from the starting rail, extruded polystyrene boards must be laid. This should be done in a checkerboard pattern. The thickness of the laid layer, first of all, depends on the geographical location of the object under construction. However, experts always recommend laying insulation not in 1, but in 2-3 layers. At the same time, it is very important to block all joints with high quality.

 • In this case, the insulation can be fixed with self-tapping screws with mushroom caps to make the design more reliable. Seams should be additionally glued. After that, bars are stuffed over the insulation. They should be top to bottom. Thus, you will get a high-quality ventilated gap. It is needed for free air circulation.
 • After that, you should install a crate designed directly for the installation of roofing material. For this, a structure assembled from bars fixed in compliance with a certain step is quite suitable.
 • Solid covers made from OSB can also be used. Such bases are ideal for mounting soft types of roofing. On the ridge, the heat-insulating material should be fastened closely.

The gap must be left only when installing the roof itself.

Below is a list of frequently asked questions and answers related to PENOPLEX ® thermal insulation:

Differences between PENOPLEX ® and non-pressed expanded polystyrene (PSB)

Plates PENOPLEX ® and expanded polystyrene (PSB) differ in production technology. Pressless expanded polystyrene is created by "steaming" microgranules with water vapor in a special form and their expansion under the influence of temperature. PENOPLEX ® thermal insulation is produced by mixing polystyrene granules at elevated temperature and pressure with the introduction of a foaming agent and subsequent extrusion from an extruder. That is why PENOPLEX ® expanded polystyrene is called extruded. Also, thanks to the production technology using this technology, PENOPLEX ® obtains a closed finely porous structure, which in turn ensures high strength, almost zero water absorption, as a result - biostability and the highest durability of PENOPLEX ® boards. An important factor is also the lower thermal conductivity of PENOPLEX ® compared to non-pressed expanded polystyrene (PSB), which makes it possible to reduce the thickness of the required thermal insulation by about 30%.

Which insulation to choose: PENOPLEX ® or mineral (stone) wool?

What is better PENOPLEX ® or mineral wool? This is a question that quite often arises from private developers. Each of these materials has its own advantages. For example, PENOPLEX ® is practically indispensable in loaded structures and in a humid environment, while mineral wool shows itself better in sound insulation. In addition, some types of mineral wool have a lower price, but this plus often disappears due to the low quality of such wool, as a result - large shrinkage, as well as the need for greater thickness of thermal insulation.

PENOPLEX ® is distinguished from mineral wool by a number of characteristics:

 • lower thermal conductivity.
 • high compressive strength
 • absolute moisture resistance (PENOPLEX ® does not absorb water, due to which it retains its thermal insulation properties throughout the entire service life).
 • absolute biostability (PENOPLEX ® is not a matrix for the development of bacteria, mold and other microorganisms).
 • ease of installation (PENOPLEX ® does not require special protective equipment when working with it).

What is the density of PENOPLEX ® ?

Density of PENOPLEX ® boards for private use ranges from 23 to 35 kg/m3. For the professional segment, this figure can reach up to 45 kg/m3. At the same time, it is important to understand that the density of PENOPLEX ® is not a key factor in determining the scope of the material. More important is such a characteristic as compressive strength. The strength characteristics of PENOPLEX ® vary over a wider range. The minimum compressive strength at 10% deformation for PENOPLEX ® boards is 0.12 MPa, such boards are used for unloaded structures (for example, for wall insulation). Plates intended for insulation of foundations have higher compressive strengths - 0.3 MPa, since it is these structures that take on the main loads from the building. PENOLEKS ® grades intended for road construction and structures with increased loads can have a strength of 0.50 MPa and more.

A wide range of characteristics makes it possible to use PENOPLEX ® boards for thermal insulation of almost any structure, both in cottage and low-rise buildings, and in industrial and civil construction.

What is the melting point of PENOPLEX?

The temperature range of application of PENOPLEX ® boards is in the range from -70 to +75 degrees Celsius, which allows using this material in any climatic zones.

At temperatures above 75 degrees Celsius, PENOPLEX ® can change its mechanical properties in the direction of reducing the strength of the material.

How many bricks does PENOPLEX ® replace?

If we compare materials in terms of heat-insulating properties, then a PENOPLEX ® slab 50 mm thick (λ=0.034 W/m2°C) will replace 1280 mm masonry on a heat-insulating mortar made of solid single brick (λ=0.82 W/m2°C). (According to GOST 530-2012 Ceramic brick and stone. General specifications. Table D.1 - Thermal characteristics of solid (conditional) masonry).

On average, in terms of thermal insulation properties, 1 cm of PENOPLEX ® replaces 25 cm of brickwork, but it should be remembered that for each individual type of brick (silicate, ceramic, clinker), this comparison will be different.

Description and production of penoplex

Penoplex is an "improved version" of polystyrene, which is a derivative of polystyrene. The first installation for the production of extruded polystyrene foam, which, in fact, is foam, appeared in the United States more than 50 years ago. To date, this insulation is produced by companies around the world and in Russia as well.

The material is produced as follows: polystyrene granules are sent to a special chamber, where, under the influence of high temperature (130-140 degrees Celsius), they melt and foam using porophores. The latter are chemicals that, when heated, actively produce gas (nitrogen, carbon dioxide).

As a result of such exposure, the substance turns into a lush foam resembling whipped cream. Various fillers can also be added to it. Most often, components such as fire retardants (reduce flammability), antioxidants (prevent thermal oxidation and rapid destruction during storage and operation), antistatic agents (relieve stress), as well as light stabilizers, modifiers and other substances are introduced into the foam composition.

The finished foam is squeezed out of the extruder and enters the conveyor belt, where it is given the final shape of plates, blocks. After complete solidification of the material, an air gap remains in it. It is evenly distributed throughout the thickness. Gases make up 98% of the total volume of the heat insulator. The other two are polystyrene and additives.

High-quality foam insulation has a uniform porous structure with small cells, the size of which does not exceed 0.1-0.3 mm. They are filled with gas and isolated from each other. This structure guarantees the material excellent thermal insulation characteristics.

The main types of penoplex

Penoplex can be used as a heater in the construction of new buildings, as well as for thermal insulation of old ones. In addition, the universal material can be applied to various surfaces and areas of the building.

It is important to choose the right type of penoplex:

 • Series K. This material is designed for thermal insulation of roofs and roofs. It is light, waterproof and has a relatively low density - 28-33 kilograms per cubic meter. Can be used for pitched and flat roofs.
 • Serie C. Wall heater. Its density ranges from 25 to 35 kilograms per cubic meter. It is used for insulation of external and internal walls.
 • F series. Thermal insulator for foundations and basements. The material has special strength characteristics and high density - up to 37 kilograms per cubic meter. In addition, it is completely waterproof and biologically stable.
 • Comfort Series. This is the most versatile type of penoplex. Density - from 25 to 35 kilograms per cubic meter. It is used for warming city apartments, balconies, loggias.
 • Penoplex "45". This is the most durable type of heat insulator. The foam density of this series is 35-47 kg/m 3 . It is used in the construction of roads, runways. Effectively protects against the damaging effects of low temperatures.
In addition, foam sandwich panels have recently appeared on the construction market. This is an improved insulation, which is often used to insulate attics and facades. The panel consists of two or three layers. On one or both sides, it is lined with cement-bonded particle board.

Technical characteristics of penoplex

The insulation has characteristics that make it attractive for industrial and private low-rise construction. Let's consider them:
 1. Thermal conductivity of foam. The value of this indicator is only 0.03 W * m * C. This is much lower than many other heaters. Even getting wet does not reduce this figure to a significant extent. In places where there is high humidity, the thermal conductivity of the foam increases only by 0.001-0.003 W * m * C.
 2. Moisture resistance. The material can be used to insulate roofs, attics, foundations and floors due to its ability to practically not absorb water and not lose its properties when wet. At the same time, penoplex can also act as a moisture-proof layer. A lot of insulation tests were carried out, in particular, the material was immersed in water for a month. During the first 10 days, the heat insulator absorbed a small amount of liquid, after which it stopped. A month later, the amount of water in the foam slab was 0.6% of the volume. Thus, it was proved that moisture is able to fill only the outer cells of the material, damaged during breaking or cutting. There can be no water inside closed cells.
 3. Vapor permeability. Like all other polystyrene derivatives, penoplex is highly resistant to water evaporation. A layer of insulation about two centimeters thick has a vapor permeability similar to a layer of roofing material.
 4. Chemical activity. The insulation does not enter into a chemical reaction with most building mixtures and solutions. However, there is a group of substances that can disrupt the structure of the penoplex and even completely dissolve it. Such chemicals include: benzene, toluene, xylene and other hydrocarbons, formaldehyde, formalin, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, various ethers, diesel fuel, kerosene, gasoline, coal tar, oil paints, polyesters, which are used as hardeners for epoxy resins.
 5. Resistance to mechanical impact. Even with high mechanical loads, foam plastic does not change its shape and size. Extrusion makes it possible to obtain a material with a uniform structure with tiny cells. This structure significantly improves the strength characteristics of the foam. The compressive strength at ten percent linear deformation is 0.2-0.5 MPa.
 6. Biological stability. The heat insulator does not attract pests and microorganisms. Penoplex does not rot, does not decompose. However, many household rodents can easily damage the integrity of the plates with their sharp teeth, making passages and holes in the insulation.
 7. Operating temperature range. To preserve the shape and properties of the penoplex must be operated at certain temperatures. Usually this operating range is indicated on the material packaging and depends on the density and grade. On average, this figure ranges from -50 to + 75 degrees. With excessive heating, the insulation will melt, deform. With a sharp drop in temperature - collapse.
 8. combustibility. Penoplex can belong to a different fire safety class (from G1 to G4), depending on the presence of fire retardants and other additives in the composition. In general, it is a combustible material that is capable of self-extinguishing, but when exposed to fire, it emits acrid smoke.
 9. Environmental friendliness. Modern production technologies have made it possible to abandon the use of freons and phenol in the production of foam plastic. Therefore, the composition of the material does not contain any harmful volatile compounds. Over time, the insulation does not begin to produce toxic components; they can safely isolate public institutions and residential buildings.
 10. Lifetime. According to recent studies, with proper installation, penoplex can serve for at least 50 years without losing its qualities and properties.

Advantages of penoplex

The benefits of penoplex are very diverse. They concern exclusively high-quality plates from trusted manufacturers. The main advantages of insulation include:
 • Excellent thermal conductivity. Penoplex plates can be used even in harsh winter conditions. They will reliably protect the home from the penetration of cold. In addition, repeated cycles of freezing and thawing do not harm the material in any way.
 • Light weight. The material is very light, which greatly simplifies transportation, storage and handling. In addition, its weight can withstand even a weak foundation, floors and walls.
 • Ease of installation. It will not be difficult to install foam boards on your own, without resorting to the help of professional builders. It does not require special tools, expensive equipment. You can cut the material using a regular hacksaw.
 • High environmental performance. It is possible to work with foam plastic plates without using personal protective equipment. They do not produce dust, do not emit harmful substances and do not irritate the skin when it comes into contact with it.
 • Low price. Penoplex is a relatively inexpensive material. On average, the cost of acquiring it pays off already three winters after installation.

Penoplex disadvantages

The disadvantages of penoplex are similar to those that are inherent in all other types of polystyrene insulation. Let's consider them:
 1. Relatively low fire safety. Despite the assurances of foam plastic manufacturers that modern material is practically non-flammable, it still remains quite flammable. It is difficult to ignite a heater with flame retardants, but when exposed to an open fire, it will melt and smoke.
 2. Low vapor permeability. Under certain adverse conditions and improper installation, this property can become negative for foam. In particular, for this reason, it is not recommended to insulate the walls from the inside of the room in order to avoid condensation and the spread of harmful microorganisms. It is also important to provide good ventilation in buildings insulated with this material, since the natural process of air exchange will be disturbed.
 3. UV resistance. Being under the open rays of the sun, the penoplex will collapse. Therefore, immediately after installation on the outer walls and facade, it must be protected with a finish.
 4. Poor adhesion. Penoplex has a smooth surface, unlike polystyrene, so it can be problematic to mount it on walls and ceilings - it does not adhere well to surfaces. For this reason, installation must be carried out using additional fasteners. This is especially true of penoplex with a sheet thickness of 40 millimeters or more.

Penoplex selection criteria

In order for the insulation to serve for a long time and not lose its properties, it is necessary to choose from a huge variety of products and manufacturers of high quality foam. It is also important to choose the material specifically for your needs.
 • Consider the brand and series of the heat insulator, choosing it for your purposes. In addition, pay attention to the size of the penoplex. With large plates it will be inconvenient to work in small rooms. You should also not buy material with a density below 25. It will not provide decent thermal insulation.
 • Please note that foam with a density below 25 kilograms per cubic meter should be in doubt. Quality material produced using the extrusion method cannot be too loose. Otherwise, you have foam in front of you.
 • Examine the technical characteristics of the penoplex indicated on the package. If you do not trust the manufacturer, then you can independently weigh the material in order to determine its density and compliance with the declared one.
 • Break off a piece of material from the edge. Extrusion foam will give a fracture with an abundance of regular polyhedra, but not round balls. The fault line should pass through the cells as well.

Price and manufacturers of penoplex

Leading European companies such as BASF, Polimeri Europa, Nova Chemicals, Styrochem are considered the best manufacturers of this insulating material.

Recently, a large number of brands have also appeared on the Russian market, under which penoplex is produced. Companies such as Penoplex and TechnoNIKOL deserve attention. Their production capacity is quite high, which makes it possible to produce material of excellent quality.

The price of penoplex varies depending on the thickness, density and series. Here is some sample data:

 • A foam sheet 20 mm thick costs about 60-70 rubles.
 • Material with a thickness of 30 millimeters will cost 100-110 rubles per sheet.
 • The cost of a sheet with a thickness of 40 millimeters is in the range of 140-150 rubles.
 • The price of a 50 mm foam sheet is 170-180 rubles.
 • A sheet with a thickness of 60 millimeters has a cost of approximately 180-190 rubles.
 • 100 mm sheets cost between 300-350 rubles.

Brief instructions for the installation of penoplex

This insulation can be mounted on the floor of various designs, walls of any materials. The technology for installing foam plastic is quite simple and is no different from fixing sheets of foam or expanded polystyrene.

If you are insulating the floor, then it is enough to spread the sheets apart on a leveled surface. We fill the joints with mounting foam.

To insulate walls, follow these instructions:

 1. First of all, we prepare the surface - we clean it from old plaster, paint, dirt, dust.
 2. We cover the wall with an antifungal primer.
 3. We level the surface in the presence of deformations, pits, bumps. At the end of the procedure, we again process it with a primer.
 4. If you carry out thermal insulation of the facade or external walls, then we install an L-shaped profile along the broken line below. It will be a support for the lower foam slabs.
 5. We begin the installation of the first row from the bottom. We apply adhesive to the plate and press it firmly against the wall.
 6. Installation is carried out according to the principle of brickwork, leaving no gaps.
 7. After you finish mounting the plates on the glue, wait for the composition to dry completely.
 8. We begin to fasten the material to dowels with a hat in the shape of a mushroom and plastic nails.
 9. Please note that the caps must be recessed into the foam, and not protrude above the surface.
 10. After that, we reinforce the walls using a special mesh and corners.
 11. We cover the reinforcing mesh with a layer of plaster. After it is completely dry, you can start decorating the walls.
Watch the video review of penoplex:

Penoplex is an inexpensive and practical material that has a number of significant advantages. It can be used for insulation of various residential and non-residential facilities. In addition, it can be used to create a soundproof and vapor barrier layer. And the installation process is simple and affordable for beginners.

Currently, there are many different thermal insulation materials on the market. One of them is Penoplex insulation, the technical characteristics of which fully comply with the highest requirements for thermal insulation of almost any building element.

Modern technologies using non-toxic components make it possible to produce lightweight and easy-to-install heaters. "Penoplex" is produced by extrusion using various chemical additives, so the material cannot be unconditionally called absolutely environmentally friendly.

The technical and operational characteristics of Penoplex clearly show that today it is one of the most effective heat-insulating materials. and the parameters of this insulation should be considered more closely.

What's happened "Penoplex"?

"Penoplex" is, in fact, extruded polystyrene foam, which is an improved form of the well-known polystyrene for a long time.

The first installation for the manufacture of this material appeared more than half a century ago in the United States. The production process is as follows: polystyrene granules are sent to a special chamber, where, during the production of the working composition, they are melted and foamed using blowing agents under the influence of high temperatures. The result is a fluffy thick foam, similar to whipped cream, which is squeezed out in an even layer of a specified thickness from the extruder nozzles, and then enters the conveyor belt and is cut into individual panels. The whole process takes place behind closed doors, and you can only see the finished product.

Foaming of polystyrene occurs by adding porophores to it - chemical compounds, when heated, active release of gaseous products - carbon dioxide, nitrogen and others, which foam the polystyrene mass. The composition of porophores for the manufacture of extruded polystyrene foam may include the following substances:

The preparation of the composition and its molding take place at a temperature of 130–140 °C at a rate of up to 60 kg/h. In this way, not only Penoplex is produced, but also Technoplex, Extrol and other domestic and imported heaters.

In the form of additives to such materials are used light stabilizing substances, antioxidants, fire retardants, modifiers, antistatic agents and other components.

 1. Antioxidants are added during the extrusion process - they prevent thermal oxidation during processing and rapid degradation during storage and operation of the insulation.
 2. Flame retardants reduce the flammability of the material or make it completely non-flammable.
 3. Other additives protect the material from aggressive environmental influences.

The porous structure of "Penoplex"

When the extruded polystyrene foam solidifies, an air layer remains inside it, evenly distributed throughout the entire structure of the material. Therefore, the finished insulation has a homogeneous porous structure with small cells ranging in size from 0.1 to 0.3 mm, filled with air (gas). Each of them is isolated from the other, which provides the highest thermal resistance and material strength.

As you can see, several varieties of "Penoplex" are produced, which are designed for a specific area of application. Therefore, the material slabs have a retail density and a certain range of standard sizes. The insulation is easy to install, lightweight, perfectly cut to the required size. All this allows you to carry out the process of thermal insulation of building elements independently.

Plates "Penoplex" are very easy to install

The table gives "dry numbers", but it is worth considering each of the parameters in more detail.

 • Coefficient Tthermal conductivity

"Penoplex" has a low thermal conductivity: this parameter is one of the lowest among all modern heaters, about 0.03. The thermal conductivity of the material remains practically unchanged with changes in humidity or ambient temperature (fluctuations do not exceed 0.001 ÷ 0.003 W/m²×° WITH). Therefore, Penoplex is suitable for both external and internal thermal insulation - they are also used for ceilings, basements and foundations, and it does not require additional external protection with moisture-resistant materials.

 • Hygroscopicity

If the insulation is excessively hygroscopic, that is, it actively absorbs moisture, it loses not only most of its heat-insulating properties, but also becomes less durable. Therefore, this parameter is especially important for materials intended for insulation. and you need to pay special attention to this when buying. However, when buying a quality Penoplex, there is no need to worry about this parameter.

To verify the reliability of "Penoplex" in this regard, numerous tests were carried out, during which the plate was completely immersed in water for a month. As a result, it turned out that the plate absorbed moisture by only 0.6% of its total volume. Moreover, the absorption process took place only during the first 10 days after immersion, and moisture penetrated only into the outer layer of insulation was damaged by a cut. The inner part of it remained completely dry. This factor indicates the reliability of insulation with the help of "Penoplex" of any part of the structure.

 • Vapor permeability

This type of polystyrene foam, like Penoplex, perfectly resists fumes. A slab having a thickness of 20 mm has a vapor permeability comparable to a layer of roofing material. Therefore, using this insulation material, no additional vapor barrier is required, which significantly reduces the cost of the entire house or a separate part of it. However, in some cases, low vapor permeability will rather be a disadvantage - "Penoplex" will not allow natural vapor exchange, that is, the wall will not "breathe".

 • Compressive strength

Thanks to the extrusion production technology, "Penoplex" has a homogeneous structure, and the uniform distribution of the smallest cells increases the strength and reliability of the material. It is able to withstand heavy loads, so it is great for insulating not only walls and ceilings, but also floors. Under heavy loads, only minor surface changes remain in the form of dents, the depth of which can be as little as 0.5 ÷ 1 mm.

 • Environmental friendliness

According to technological standards, Penoplex is conceived as an environmentally friendly material. However, not all manufacturers adhere to these requirements, including components that are unsafe for the human body. Therefore, low-quality products eventually begin to release substances that stimulate the development of certain diseases. Much depends on the installation of the material on walls - retreat from technology can make Penoplex a source of danger to human health.

High-quality material must be self-extinguishing, that is, spread the flame even when exposed to open fire. Unfortunately, not all materials behave this way - some of them not only burn, but also melt, turning into a burning flowing mass, which also emits a large amount of caustic and extremely toxic scalding smoke.

It is difficult to determine the quality of products by appearance, therefore, before purchasing a large batch of material, it is worth buying one plate and conducting various experiments on it in the open air. After making sure that the insulation meets all the characteristics assigned to it, you can buy the required number of panels.

In addition, it must be said that there is an abundance of low-quality fakes made in violation of the technological process on the market. This material is especially dangerous, since it is not known how it can behave under emergency circumstances.

 • Lifetime

Since the insulation is also used for external insulation, during testing it is subjected to repeated freezing and thawing - these procedures indicate the number of cycles of material use under conditions of large temperature differences. Experiments are carried out until damage from external influences appears on the material. It is the number of sustained cycles that determines the service life of the insulation.

Experiments conducted at NIISF showed that Penoplex is able to serve without losing its original qualities for about 50 years. Usually such a guarantee is given with a margin, which means that the specified period exploitation is not the limit.

During testing, the material is subjected not only to temperature changes, but also to all kinds of atmospheric influences, such as high humidity, ultraviolet rays, strong wind load.

Again, it is necessary to recall the integrity of the manufacturer - the material will be used without problems for the specified period, if all the established rules for its manufacture are observed.

 • Insulation resistance to chemical attack

When using Penoplex in construction, you need to know which substances can destroy the insulation, and which ones harmonize perfectly with it. Most of the mineral chemistries used in building practice are not harmful to the material, but some organic substances cause it to soften or melt.

In order not to encounter such troubles during work, it is better to prepare in advance and exclude substances containing such components from the insulation process.

Substances incompatible with Penoplex include:

 1. Esters and ethers: ethyl acetate and methyl acetate solvents and diethyl ether.
 2. Toluene, benzene, xylene and similar hydrocarbons.
 3. Formaldehyde and formalin.
 4. Diesel fuel, kerosene, gasoline.
 5. Ketones - acetone, methyl ethyl ketone.
 6. Coal tar.
 7. Oil paints.
 8. Polyesters, which are used as epoxy resin hardeners.

It is worth listing those compounds that will not harm Penoplex:

 1. Various alcohols and substances based on them, including paints.
 2. All types of acids (inorganic and organic).
 3. Bleaching powder.
 4. Salt solutions.
 5. Water and paints based on it.
 6. alkalis.
 7. Ammonia, propane, butane.
 8. Freons.
 9. Carbon dioxide and oxygen.
 10. Mortars based on cement.
 11. Vegetable and animal oils, as well as paraffins.

In addition, it can be noted that Penoplex has a high biostability - it is not subject to decay and decomposition.

Marking "Penoplex"

Previously, in the marking, the letter was in the first place, and then there were numbers, for example, M35 and M45. The modern designation is as indicated in the table above, that is, 31.31C, 35, 45 and 45C.

 1. Penoplex 31 has rather low compressive strength, so it is not used in areas where a high load is expected. Most often it is used for insulation of tanks and various pipelines.
 2. The material marked 31C is also not very durable and is intended for insulating internal walls. Its difference from 31 is a higher degree of combustibility of the material.
 3. Penoplex 35 has a sufficiently high strength and good thermal insulation qualities, therefore it is considered universal. They insulate walls, foundations, floors and pipes.
 4. "Penoplex" 45 is used for warming runways, arranging road surfaces, thermal insulation of deep foundations, floors in production shops and other rooms with a large dynamic load. The density of this material allows it to withstand increased loads, and its water resistance prevents coatings from deforming during temperature changes.
 5. 45WITH has characteristics close to Penoplex - 45 in terms of strength and thermal insulation, but insulation with this marking is usually chosen for fixing on the walls of industrial premises with large volumes.

Along with digital marking, there is another line in which the characteristics of Penoplex are as close as possible to its operational purpose.

Sometimes marking is done a little differently, and it is much easier to understand.

 • "Penoplex - Wall" has a density in the range of 25 ÷ 32 kg / m³ and is intended for fixing on external and internal walls, as well as for insulating partitions and plinths, which increases energy saving and the quality of sound insulation of the building.

"Penoplex" for wall insulation

If the insulation is carried out outside the building, then after fixing the insulation and sealing the seams between the plates, it is recommended to apply plaster over Penoplex or veneer it with one of the facade materials, such as lining, siding or decorative tiles.

 • "Penoplex - Foundation" has a density of 29 ÷ 33 kg / m³ and is used for warming foundations and surfaces in basements. The material is quite dense and water-resistant, as it is designed for the insulation of these particular elements of buildings. It is also used for thermal insulation of septic tanks, which are not too deep, and there is a risk of freezing.

 • "Penoplex - Roof" is produced for the insulation of trussed or flat roofs. In addition, it is also suitable for insulating attic floors. The density of this brand of material is 28 ÷ 33 kg / m³, so it is quite light and will not put a heavy load on the truss system.

 • "Penoplex - Comfort" has a density of 25 ÷ 35 kg / m³ and is used to insulate the walls of apartments, balconies and loggias, as well as surfaces in private houses and such rooms with high humidity as baths and saunas. The density of the material is low, but it is quite enough for residential buildings, since it will not be subjected to heavy loads.

 • "Penoplex - 45" has a density of 35 ÷ 47 kg / m3 and its purpose has already been discussed above. But besides this, it is used to warm the floors of garages and flat roofs, on which sports grounds and even parking lots are organized.

Fundamentals of Penoplex insulation technology

In order for the insulation to fully cope with the tasks assigned to it, it is necessary to follow the technology of its installation on certain elements of the structure.

Wall insulation from the outside

Not only the preservation of heat in the premises of the house, but also the health of its residents will depend on the correct installation of Penoplex on the walls outside. Unfortunately, in violation of technology, to save money, many builders fix insulation only on special fasteners - dowels with wide hats, which are called "fungi". Such an installation will not only not insulate the walls, but will also contribute to the occurrence of mold or fungus colonies inside the housing, which can grow and penetrate into the wall material. This is due to the fact that due to the loose fit of the insulation material to the wall, the dew point shifts. Therefore, if a decision has already been made to insulate, then it is worth doing it according to all the rules.

 • The first thing you need to start working with is the preparation of surfaces for the installation of Penoplex. The wall must be cleaned of old plaster, dirt and dust. Then it is primed with antifungal solutions.

If, after cleaning the surfaces, obvious deformations or irregularities are found, then they must be leveled with a layer of plaster, otherwise the plates will not fit snugly against the wall. After the wall is leveled and dried, it should be primed again.

 • "Penoplex" begin to install from the bottom of the wall, and in order for the first row to stand perfectly evenly, an L-shaped starting profile is fixed along the broken line, on which they will carefully stand insulation boards material .

 • Next, the first row of material is mounted on the wall. The plates are fixed to the surface with the help of special adhesive solutions, which are applied directly to the plate. After that, it is well pressed against the wall.

Installation of Penoplex is carried out according to the brickwork scheme, and there should be no gaps between the plates. If, nevertheless, they remain, they must be filled with mounting foam after the main glue has dried.

 • Further, after the plates are glued, they must be fixed with plastic dowels - "fungi". To do this, holes are drilled in the wall directly through the insulation, into which a part of the dowel is installed with hat, then a plastic nail is driven into it. Such fasteners will require 5 ÷ 6 pieces per m², if necessary, their number can be increased. The caps of the fasteners must be flush with the surface of the insulation, that is, pressed into it by the thickness of the cap.

 • After that, it is recommended to strengthen the corners with perforated metal corners. This must be done because the material on the corners of the house is damaged first.
 • The next step is to reinforce the surface. In order for the plaster mortar to have good adhesion to insulation boards, you need to walk on them with sandpaper with a large grain.

Then, a cement-based plaster-adhesive composition is applied to the surface from the upper part of the wall, on which a reinforcing fiberglass mesh is fixed. It is well leveled and recessed into the first layer applied to the slabs.

Reinforcement of the wall over the "Penoplex"

 • The first layer with the reinforcing mesh should dry well and only after that the second leveling plaster layer is applied. It is well leveled, and if it is planned to be coated with paint, it is brought to a smooth state with putty compounds.

If embossed plaster is applied to the surface or decorative tiles are laid, then the ideal smoothness of the surface is not needed - high-quality leveling is enough.

Insulation of the walls of a balcony or loggia

The insulation of the internal walls, as well as the balcony, is carried out in the same way as the external ones, but the balcony surfaces during insulation have their own characteristics.

The joints of the glued and fixed insulation must be closed with foil tape or go over them with mounting foam.

Further, when there are no cold bridges left, you can fix another layer of foil insulation on top and close the walls with clapboard or drywall. Another option is to apply finishing plaster directly on top of Penoplex.

Roof insulation

The process of roof insulation occurs at the construction stage or during reconstruction.

1 - Plank sheathing.

2 - Crate.

3 - Vapor barrier membrane.

4 - Penoplex.

5 - Rafter leg.

6 - Windproof film.

7 - Control grille.

8 - Roofing.

In the presented version, the entire “pie” is laid on a plank sheathing, fixed from the attic side, on which a vapor barrier membrane is laid.

 1. Penoplex is mounted between the rafter legs. If gaps remain between these elements, then they must be filled with mounting foam.
 2. Then the insulation layer is covered with a windproof film.
 3. On top of the rafters, a counter-lattice is fixed, on which the roofing material is laid.

When insulating the attic floor, Penoplex is laid between the beams on the plank sheathing, hemmed from the side of the premises of the house. "Pie" is compiled according to the same principle as roofing insulation, that is, vapor barrier, Penoplex, waterproofing film, attic floor boarding.

Concrete floor insulation

Due to the high density, this insulation can be glued to the concrete floor surface in the apartment, for example, under a laminate or parquet board.

An adhesive mass is applied to the cleaned and primed floor, on which Penoplex plates are glued, which have fastening grooves and spikes. This method will help not only to insulate, but also soundproof room, and level the floor surface.

Laying Penoplex plates on the floor

Another option for insulating the floor with Penoplex can be its installation between the logs, fixed to the floor. This is how thermal insulation is produced in the case when it is planned to lay a wooden floor on top of it. a similar method is usually used in a private house, since in an apartment the ceiling height is limited to 2700 mm, and a layer of floor insulation will reduce this parameter by another 80 ÷ 100 mm.

Domestic analogues of the material

If Penoplex is a patented brand of insulation, then other analogues of such material have been developed by Russian technologists based on existing compositions.

"Technoplex"

This domestic insulation is designed for installation on any surface of a private house, and is also well suited for the "warm floor" system. Technoplex is produced using nanotechnology, using graphite, which can reduce the thermal conductivity of the insulation and increase the strength of the plates.

Technoplex packaging

This material, unlike Penoplex, has a gray-silver color, but meets all the necessary requirements for the first.

"Technoplex" is produced in the form of plates having a thickness of 100,50,40,30 and 20 mm. The plates have butt grooves and spikes, which allow them to be assembled into a single coating that does not have gaps - this avoids the formation of cold bridges.

After installing the "Technoplex" on the insulated surface, it must be covered with decorative material, since ultraviolet rays are quite detrimental to it.

« Polyspen »

Another analogue of Penoplex is the domestic insulation Polyspen. This material is produced in three versions, which differ in technical characteristics - thermal conductivity, compressive strength and combustibility:

- Polispen 45

- Polispen 35

- "Polyspen Standard"

The numbers included in the marking determine the density of the insulation - these are 45 kg / m³ and 35 kg / m³.

Polispen is also considered a worthy competitor to Penoplex.

The complex of ingredients that make up the material includes fire retardants, which significantly reduce the flammability of the insulation.

- "Polyspen 35" is used for insulation and soundproofing of the bearing walls of the building, as well as for internal partitions.

- "Polyspen 45" is suitable for thermal insulation of floors in a house or garage, as well as for road surfaces that are subject to heavy loads - its density allows them to withstand them without problems.

- "Polyspen Standard" is excellent for warming rooms where such quality as reduced flammability is especially needed - this is the "warm floor" system, garage floors, attic floors.

Plates are produced with a thickness of 100, 80, 60, 50, 40, 30 and 20 mm, so you can choose from them the option that is suitable for a particular area of insulation.

In conclusion, I would like to say that it is better to purchase heat-insulating material in specialized stores that can present a quality certificate for the products sold. Buying it in the "wild" markets, you can easily run into a fake. Therefore, you should not take risks, because by saving a penny, you can later pay with your own health. And yet - wherever the material is purchased, it is recommended to first conduct a quality test by buying one plate. On contact with open fire 0
