Game description

Monster World IV is the sixth and final installment in the very ancient and long-running Wonder Boy/Monster World series.

Plot

The plot of Monster World IV is simple and straightforward. You have to take control of a girl named Asha, find four spirits and save the kingdom. That's all. Is it worth adding that the game takes place in an Arabian setting, with all the classic attributes, such as genies and flying carpets.

Gameplay

Well, if the plot of Monster World IV is almost non-existent, then with the gameplay things are much better here. The game is a platformer with RPG elements. Although there is no EXP and Level, they are successfully replaced by money knocked out of enemies. After all, with their help you can buy yourself more powerful equipment, and in addition, if you collect ten blue magatamas, you will receive an increase to the maximum number of life hearts.

There is only one city in the game, it is the base of your actions, like in Dungeon Crawler's. There you will purchase the necessary items, communicate with a few residents and, in the end, go to the locations where the fun begins. The lion's share of the Monster World gameplay IV involves interacting with a blue flying kawaii creature called Pepelogoo, and he can perform many actions: double jump, find secret passages, press buttons and much more.

If you've been dreaming of hunting giant monsters for a living, then you're in luck, because Capcom has finally decided to go all in and release a big-budget Monster Hunter game that's entirely dedicated to hunting giant monsters. True, for those who are not familiar with the franchise, this project may seem slightly unusual and difficult to master. For this reason, we decided to write a detailed walkthrough of Monster Hunter: World with a description of all the main game quests.

Prologue

After a cutscene introducing you to a ship flying straight to the New World, you will meet other hunters on the ship. These initial greetings slowly lead you into character customization, which may not be as extensive as modern MMORPGs, but is still the best in the Monster Hunter series. You can spend as much time as you like on the editor, however, you can customize the hair and makeup for the hero later.

After creating your character and Palico, watch the new cut-scene. Then, as you head towards your new companion, the Explorer, the ship will be attacked straight from the ocean. As a result, you will fall out of the ship onto the back of the mighty Zorah Magdoros. Next, you will need to go through a tutorial on how to move the hero and escape from the back of the monster. By climbing onto the monster's head, you and your Guide can then move to the nearest island. As a result, you will finally be able to get to the New World.

The girl will give you a map and tell you where the ship could land. As a result, the first marker will appear on the map. On the way to the desired location, you will encounter Jagras and undergo a short training in sheltering from animals.

Having got rid of the pursuit and having walked a little forward, you will stumble upon an unknown trace left by the monster. When examining it, the Guide will be attacked by the Great Jagras. The hero will help the girl, but the monster will switch to you and you will have to try to escape from him. During your escape, you will encounter an even larger monster - Anyanat. You need to go through the gate as soon as possible to find yourself in a safe location called Astera. It will become your second home for the coming weeks, and maybe even months.

After a brief briefing from Astera's chief hunter, his son will show you around town and help you find your Palico. Pay attention to the places he shows you. You will visit them more than once as you progress through the game.

After finding your Palico, take part in a meeting in which the purpose of this expedition will be revealed. The fact is that every ten years the Ancient Dragons migrate to these lands, but the reason for this is unknown. You will need to uncover it, but first you have to prepare to meet these terrible monsters.

The Chief Hunter will note that the Fifth Fleet needs to deal with more pressing issues first, such as dealing with a group of Jagras living nearby. Once the meeting is over, you will head to your home. Here you can change your armor and weapons, as well as choose equipment for your Palico. Having chosen your equipment, go to receive your first quest. To do this, you need to go to the Dining Room and talk to the Guide, who will ask you to complete the task “Jagras of the Ancient Forest”.

Jagras of the Ancient Forest

  • Objective: Kill 7 Jagras
  • Reward: 720 zeny

After talking with the Guide and receiving the quest, you can immediately begin completing it. This task is quite simple - you will need to deal with 7 Jagras in 50 minutes. To do this, you will need to go to the Ancient Forest, where you have already been before during the prologue. Head to the 2nd sector, where you will certainly find your prey.

A veteran hunter will brief you on the upcoming battle. Don't forget to pick up all the items you encounter along the way to the monsters. Each material here can be used to create various potions, bombs or traps. When faced with Jagras, engage them in battle. Sooner or later you will deal with all the monsters, since they do not pose any particular danger to the hero. The main thing is not to forget to cut them up after killing them in order to get useful resources.

Note: This quest will give you an excellent opportunity to learn all the different types of weapons that can be changed at the base camp right in the middle of the quest. This way you will be able to choose the most suitable weapon for yourself.

Having dealt with all the creatures, return to Astera. After this, you can immediately go to the Forge to start forging weapons and armor from the collected materials. Most likely, you will be able to create a new set. If the resources are insufficient, you can always repeat the previous task.

The questodon mess and the hunt for the big jagras

  • Objective: Complete the main objective (Kestodon hunt) and kill or capture the Greater Jagras
  • Reward: 1200 zeny
  • Time limit: 50 minutes

Similar to the previous quest, “The Mess with the Kestodon” is a simple task performed in the Ancient Forest. To complete it, you will need to deal with 3 male and 5 female Kestodons. Males are distinguished by a much larger crown located on the top of their head (they will use it as a battering ram). Luckily, you won't have to fight all the monsters at once, as they are divided into two groups.

The first group, including 2 females and 1 male, can be found right outside the first camp. The second consists of 2 males and 3 females. You can find it a little lower near the pond. When fighting these monsters, the main thing is to avoid their running attacks. After killing the entire herd, talk to the main hunter, who will ask you to help him in the investigation.

As a result, a simple hunt for Kestodons will smoothly flow into your first encounter with a large monster - Greater Jagras. Once in the 12th sector, you will see a monster devouring a herbivore. Then you can either return to the city or take on a new task.

After you are able to track and kill the large monster, a new cutscene will be shown in which Pokey-Pokey comes into contact with a strange-looking rock. The group will decide to first return to the city to inform the leaders about what they saw, and only then begin to investigate this event.

Introduction to the Expedition and the Feathered Robber

  • Objective: Kill or capture Kulu-ya-ku
  • Reward: 1800 zeny
  • Time limit: 50 minutes

After returning to Astera, you will learn that you need to create more camps in the Ancient Forest to continue exploring the location. This can be done in Expedition mode - a free game in which you can do whatever your heart desires, without any time limits. You can hunt any creatures, collect resources, or simply explore new lands. True, some monsters will only be available for hunting for a certain period of time.

Note: Thanks to expeditions, you can fight several monsters at once, without having to leave the location, and collect tons of materials that may be useful to you in the future.

During the expedition, find a hunter located in the northeastern corner of the map in sector 12. He will tell you about a location where you can create another camp. Upon arrival there, you will find Kulu-ya-ku, who has decided to build a new nest here. After a short cutscene, you can start hunting this large monster.

Kulu-ya-ku is a fairly simple monster. Most of his attacks deal minor damage, so killing him shouldn't cause you any problems. At a certain moment, he can pull a cobblestone out of the ground and start swinging it in all directions. Hit the stone to make the bird throw it away. In our special guide, we talked in detail about how to defeat this monster.

Urgent: Hunt for Poki-Poki

  • Objective: Kill or capture Poki-Poki
  • Reward: 2520 zeny
  • Time limit: 50 minutes
  • Requirements: Hunter Rank 2 and above

To further study the lava scoria discovered during the hunt for Big Jagras, scientists will ask you to capture Poki-Poki. Be sure to grab any extra supplies from the crate before you start hunting a new monster. We advise you to pick up as many bottles of antidote as possible, since you will have to deal with poison.

However, antidotes often take too long to consume, so we recommend combining them with blue mushrooms to create an herbal remedy. The character not only consumes it much faster, but can also restore his health with it.

You can find Pokey in sector 6 - he will be hovering above the trees. The easiest way to get to this place is from the camp located in Sector 11. Start looking for traces of the monster to find out its exact location. When fighting him, do not stand in front of his mouth, as he often spits poison and exhales poisonous gas.

Beware of tongue attacks, which can also cause poisoning. If you were unable to evade, then try to move away from the monster to a safe distance, and then use the antidote (or herbal medicine). Afterwards you can fight the monster again.

Note: Pokey Pokey can scatter nuts and then eat them. This will allow him to shoot poison even from his tail. In this case, try to cut off the tail as quickly as possible with cutting attacks.

Let us add that this monster is vulnerable to thunderstorms, sleep and paralysis. If you have a lightning weapon, a sufficient number of antidotes and the right equipment, then you can deal with this monster fairly quickly and move on to the next mission.

We create a character and your palico cat, who will help you in battle. Appearance can be changed later in the game, but the number of options will be significantly less. You can change your hair, beard, and makeup, but you won’t be able to change your face.

After the cut-scene, we run after the girl as a guide, following the prompts on the screen. When you climb a vertical surface, dodge the stones flying from above. When you are in the forest, predators will attack you. At this moment it will be necessary to hide - we use the same bush as the guide. When she says everything is calm, continue on your way. In the final part of the task, when monsters attack at the entrance to the headquarters, we use a dash (movement stick + clicking on it or ). Next, follow the leader of the field squad, who will show you all the local attractions. At the end, talk to the commander and take the first task from the conductor (she will be in the dining room).

Jagras of the Ancient Forest

After you take the task, you can run around the camp and get ready. It is also recommended to have a snack in the canteen - this will give bonuses to health and stamina for you and your palico. When you're ready, simply open the map and confirm the start of the task. Please note that each task has a time limit. Don’t worry about not collecting some materials - later you can simply go to the same location in expedition mode without a time limit, incl. hunt the same monsters and collect the necessary materials from them. You can get all the basic information about the task by opening the map. The remaining time of the task will also be shown there.

Follow to area 2 - there you will find Jagras, small yellow-blue dinosaurs. You need to kill 7 of them. Since there are a lot of them, try to run all the time around the perimeter of the location, periodically striking 1-2 blows to the nearest monster, and then dodge. Continue until you kill enough individuals. Jagras may at some point hide in their cave - be careful here, because... there they constantly spawn. After completing the quest conditions, you will only have one minute to collect loot, after which you will automatically teleport to Astera.

Mess with the Kestodon / Hunt for the Great Jagras

Let's go on a mission again. This time you need to kill three males and five females. These are brown lizards with pronounced frontal bone growths. Females are smaller in size and have less pronounced growths. Since their head is quite well protected, try to deal damage to unprotected areas. The most optimal moment is when the male makes a jerk, jump back in time and attack the body from the side. You will find the first group in zone 1, on the plain closest to the camp. The second group will be a little further by the water - follow the fireflies.

When you kill all the Kestodons required for the task, a larger monster will appear - a large Jagras. You can immediately go hunting for him or return to Astera and take on this task. Follow the trail - each trail you collect gives you points. The higher the level of research of a particular monster, the easier it is to detect it. The fight with a large Jagras, like with any other large monster, will consist of several stages when the monster runs away to another location. Always follow the fireflies and do not forget to increase your research level by finding traces of the monster.

The large jagras attacks with its claws, tail, and also uses dashes. Dodge in time, and this enemy will not cause many problems. Its vulnerable areas are its head, chest and front paw. Most susceptible to fire, immune to water. Of the negative statuses, he is susceptible to everything: poisoning, sleep, paralysis, explosion and stunning. After the victory, a new monster will appear - Poki-Poki, and the mission will end and you will be sent back to the city.

Meet the Expedition / Feathered Robber

This time we set off on an expedition by talking with the quartermasters, and then simply going out through the gate and choosing the Ancient Forest as our destination. You can go on an expedition at any time between tasks. There are no time limits, and you can safely explore the area, grind, and hunt monsters.

Once in place, we follow the marker to the new camp. But it won’t be possible to set up a camp, because... Kulu-ya-ku will interfere. You can start hunting for him immediately or return to Astera and then select the appropriate task.

Track the monster by finding tracks. This is a fairly simple monster that doesn't do much damage. To cause damage, he will periodically dig up boulders, with which he will try to either simply hit you, or do it with a jump. Also in battle uses numerous beak attacks after a dash. The most vulnerable points are the head and front paws. Most susceptible to water.

Urgent: Poki-poki hunt

Poki-poki is already a more serious opponent. In battle, he spits poison, so be sure to take an antidote with you. You can also combine the antidote and the blue mushroom to create a potion that both neutralizes the poison and restores health.

You can find Poki-Poki in zone 6; it is best to start from a camp in zone 11. Follow the tracks until you come across a monster. During the battle, try not to be in front of his mouth. This is the most dangerous position, because... you can get a dose of poison, and also get rid of a sweeping tongue strike. Don’t forget to use the antidote if you still get it. If a Pokey-Pokey eats bursting nuts, it will also be able to release poison from its tail. Weak spots: head, wings, tail. Most susceptible to thunder, sleep and paralysis, while being immune to water.

The most enjoyable task

Follow the cart until you reach a glowing boulder. Barroth will appear. Beware of his running head attacks. It is protected quite well, the front paws and tail are more vulnerable. The scales will periodically fly off after impacts, which will open up new vulnerable spots for attack.

After burrowing into the ground, it will rebuild its armor from fossilized scales. It can also throw dirt around, slowing down the hunter. If you succeed, you can make him accelerate and hit the boulder - then he will fall, and you can shoot him in the belly. The most effective against him are fire, water (only if in mud), poisoning, paralysis and explosion. Damaged: head, paws and tail. After the mission, a new camp will be available.

Creepy shadows in the swamp

We follow the trail of the missing scientist, as usual, until we reach the swamp. Here, in fact, we will meet our goal - yuratods. He likes to dive and then jump out of the water right at you, so don't forget to use dodges. Also beware of mud accumulations similar to Barrot's - you can get stuck and get hit. It may clash with a barrot, which will be to your advantage. Vulnerable spots are the head and tail. Most susceptible to thunder (when not covered in mud) and water (when covered), stunning.

Flying sparks tobi-kadachi

Tracking down Tobi-Kadachi in the Ancient Forest. This is a fairly fast monster, it can climb a tree and jump on top of you. Uses electricity in battle. Watch out for its tail, as well as its circular attacks, which are quite sudden but do massive damage. In battle, you may encounter an anyanat who will attack the tobi-kadachi. Weak spots: tail and head. Water deals the most damage and is also most susceptible to poison.

Anyanatha Invasion

The next monster is the most complex of those previously encountered, similar to a tyrannosaurus rex with fur, an anyanat. It is recommended to wear armor with maximum fire resistance. If you play with a melee weapon, then getting close to him is quite difficult, but between his legs the chance of getting away is much less. Beware of both his physical attacks and fire ones. When he is on the ground, focus all your attacks on the tail and try to cut it off, which will give another safe area behind the monster. The tail and head are vulnerable. Most susceptible to water, as well as all negative statuses except explosion.

For centuries

In this mission you will have to fight Zora Magdaros. Conventional weapons will not help against such a hulk, so you should use ballistas and cannons. Before firing, you should load them - the shells are usually stored nearby. The guns cannot be aimed at the target, but the ballista can be aimed. Weak points are the head and chest. NPCs will also load guns, but will not fire. When the monster is sufficiently weakened, you will be offered to use a ballista with a special projectile. You will need to run to the far left side of the location and go upstairs. Charge the ballista and shoot at Zora.

After the monster breaks through the first barrier, run to the marker and jump onto its back. Here you will have to destroy three magma bubbles. When the monster turns around, another bubble like this opens. They can explode, causing great damage and setting fire. Pay attention when cracks appear and run away. Also pay attention to the veins from which you can get materials for crafting equipment.

When it seems that victory is close, a nergigante will appear. This monster is too tough for you, so try not to die and deal some damage. After some time, a hunter from the 1st fleet will save you. The mission will end here, and you will have to fight the monsters next time.

Expedition: "Great Gorge"

Embark on an expedition through the gorge that Dzora left behind. At the end you will find yourself in a new location - Coral Highlands.

Expedition: "Coral Highlands"

You will be asked to explore a new location. Collect materials, move deeper into the territory until you meet the tsitsi-ya-ku. This monster prefers surprise attacks, and also periodically stuns with a flash, giving it the opportunity to deal great damage. Never stand in front of him. When he is about to stun you, you will have a couple of seconds to avoid the attack (the affected area will be highlighted). The most promising attacks are to the head, and is most susceptible to thunder and ice. After winning, head to area 12 to find a camp.

Inflated problems

In this mission you have to fight a paolumu. It is usually located in zone 5. This monster does not pose any particular danger. Periodically, it will suck in air and expand its neck, while rising into the air and flying above you. You will have to either use jumping to attack or use long-range weapons. Use the firefly flash to disable the monster so it falls to the ground. Be sure to attack him in the air to make him land. Avoid his attacks from above on the ground, as well as his air blows while he is in the air. Attacks to the head and neck cause the most damage, and are most susceptible to fire, stun and explosion.

Expedition: Rotten Valley, Radobaan Ambush

During the expedition you will meet a large, well-protected monster - the radobaan. Try to attack his legs. He attacks by curling up into a ball, as well as simply with frontal attacks. The fastest way to neutralize him is to throw a grenade under his body. Explosion damage causes massive damage to the monster. This is also a good way to destroy his bone defenses, opening his body to your attacks. It is recommended to cut off the monster's tail, which will make it less dangerous. Vulnerable: the upper part of the head and hind legs. In addition to explosion, it is most sensitive to dragon damage.

After the victory, you will still need to track down the big Girros, only then can you return to base. It will not be necessary to fight, however, if you fight, you will have to stock up on the antidote.

Legiana: a model of grace

The next monster is in Coral Highlands. You should prepare for a fight with him - wear equipment against ice damage. Remember the plateau located at high altitude? Follow there, and then climb even higher along the vines. Go through the small passage in the rock and you will see Legiana. This monster likes to spend a lot of time in the air, so choose the appropriate weapon. Beware of cold attacks, which, among other things, stun. It is also sometimes covered in ice and can similarly blind when attacked with a melee weapon. Use fire or lightning weapons. The most vulnerable are the head, tail and wings. Attacks with poison effects will also be effective.

Deep into the valley

Go down to the cave, where in the center lies the skeleton of some monster. You will be called. We follow the fireflies. When you approach the boulder left by Dzora, a cut-scene will begin and a new monster will appear - the Odogaron. It usually lives in zones 10 and 13. It is dangerous for its sharp, sudden attacks, as well as the ability to cause bleeding if it touches you with its claws and fangs. There are two ways to deal with bleeding - move away from the monster to a safe place, stop and press the [X] or [A] button, for PS4 and XboxONE, respectively. The second way is to buy the Astera Jerky item at the base. Try to attack him from the side. However, consider his speed - no more than one attack at a time. Periodically, Odogaron will enter an area with a toxic mist that will slowly cause damage to health. It is better to select armor taking into account fire resistance, because... this monster can also deal fire damage. The greatest damage can be done by targeting the head, front legs and tail, which can be cut off, thereby reducing the attack distance. We are most vulnerable to ice and paralysis.

The fiery throne over the forest

Next, you will need to deal with two strong monsters - Rathalos and Diablos. The first one lives in the ancient forest, usually in zone 17. This wyvern likes to be in the air most of the time, so choose the appropriate equipment. Attack the tail first. When he lands, put all your effort into attacking the wings and head, since they won't be accessible while he's in the air. Watch out for his fire attacks, as well as a powerful claw attack that also deals poison damage. The most suitable armor set is with maximum fire protection. Weapons with thunder damage.

Horned tyrant under the sands

Diablos is just a powerful monster without much elemental damage. You might have seen him during the battle with Barrot. Likes to attack with its horns like a buffalo, and also deals damage with its tail if you are behind. The third powerful attack is to burrow underground and come out underneath you, sending the main character flying. It is better to attack him during breaks, standing under him if you are using a melee weapon, and dealing damage from below. When you see that the diablos has dived underground and is moving towards you, run away and roll, trying not to end up under it. Blinding bombs can also be used to stop him from rummaging. In area 13 there is one place where he can fall underground - use this to break his horns and cut off his tail. The most suitable armor is with maximum physical protection, and use weapons with ice damage, as well as a paralysis effect. Weak points are the head, belly and wings.

A colossal task

After they tell you about Dzor, there will be a second battle with this giant. The battle with him consists of the same phases as the last one, only in reverse: first we have a walk through Dzora’s body with the destruction of magma bubbles, and their location has not changed, and then we attack with guns. Before firing, remember that guns and ballistas must be loaded.

When they say, jump off the wall on the far left and land on the ship. There, in the far part, shoot from a huge cannon. After that, shoot with other weapons.

Bug-eyed green monster

By defeating Zora Magdaros, you have gained access to high-rank quests. Now you can craft the best armor and weapons. The old monsters have been upgraded, and now, despite the fact that they look the same, they have become more formidable opponents. The first monster from this series of tasks is Poki-Poki. The principle of fighting with him remains the same (see the task “Urgent: Hunting for Poki-Poki”, only instead of the antidote, you should use a stronger drug made from a combination of the antidote and the blue mushroom.

Pink happiness

The next target is also an old acquaintance Anyanat (see the task “Invasion of Anyanat”). As in the case of Pokey-Pokey, after leveling it up, you will have to hunt down the monster again, and its health and strength will increase dramatically.

An ancient monster in the New World

Now in the coral highlands you will have to hunt down the pink ratiana, a pumped-up version of the regular ratiana. Can deal damage with its tail, both while spinning in the air and on the ground. Also, in general, the monster has become stronger and faster. Vulnerable spots are the head, tail and wings. Most susceptible to thunderstorm, dragon damage and stun effects. Armor with maximum fire protection will help in battle.

Expedition: "Refuge of the Ancient One"

Here you need to find traces of the Nergigant, as well as find (not necessarily fight them) three monsters: Uragaan (a variation of the radobaan), Dodogama (a variation of the jagras, with the exception that it spits fire) and Bazelgeus (a variation of the yuratod with similar changes). As already written, it is not necessary to fight with them, but you should thoroughly explore the territory, finding spikes and traces left by the nergigant. When you have fulfilled all the conditions, you can go to the base.

Wound and thirst

In this task you will have to fight with that same nergigant. Prepare thoroughly, because... if your health is not high enough, you can die from one blow from this monster. This time, since our opponent is an ancient dragon, the fireflies will glow blue.

The nergigant's body is covered with multiple spikes that regenerate during battle. If you let them grow too big, they will turn black, turn to stone, and your weapon will bounce off them like a stone. Also, the more they grow, the more damage the monster deals. Try to stay under the monster between its paws, causing damage. Also beware of the powerful wing attack - it has a large area of effect and is difficult to dodge. The most powerful attack is when all the thorns grow. In this case, it flies up and unleashes all its force on the target - if you find yourself in the affected area, you will die immediately. The second part of this blow is spikes flying off in all directions, also causing damage. The only positive thing is that the monster's body becomes vulnerable to attacks again. Also, in the place where the nergigante is deposited, beware of stalactites that may fall on your head. The most vulnerable are the head and legs, susceptible to thunderstorms. Armor with maximum protection against dragons is recommended.

Kushala-daora, the steel dragon

Traces of this monster can be found in the ancient forest. When you find enough, talk to the ecologist to unlock this quest. Upon arrival, the fireflies will immediately lead you to your goal. It is most commonly found in zone 3. It is an ancient dragon that attacks with wind power that knocks you back and causes damage. Therefore, try to be under the monster. It can also cause a tornado, creating an obstacle for you, and also allowing you to set up an ambush. Don't let yourself be stunned between two tornadoes, this will quickly lead to death.

The monster flies a lot, but its wings are made of metal, so there is no point in dealing damage to them, except with a blunt weapon. This monster is extremely difficult, so study its behavior, attacks, and be patient. The head, front legs and tail are the vulnerable parts, most susceptible to thunderstorms and the effects of explosion and poisoning.

Hell's teostra

Similar to the previous task, you must first find traces of the dragon, but in the Vault of the Ancient One. The monster usually lives in zone 13. Since this is a fire dragon, prepare accordingly by taking the appropriate potions with you and wearing armor with maximum fire protection.

In combat, beware of lava, which also causes damage. The dragon's body is scorching, and even just being nearby, the hero will also receive damage. Never stand in front of his nose - his frontal attacks are the most powerful. Periodically, it emits fireballs around. The most powerful attack, when it is fully “charged”, will fly up and bring down a huge cloud of fire on you, which will kill you. Vulnerable parts are the head, wings and tail, most susceptible to ice and water.

Baal-hazak, demon from hell

This is the third ancient dragon we need. Likewise, before the task you will have to find enough traces of the monster. Before the battle, take the best weapons with fire damage and dragon damage. The Vaal Khazak is a monster with two sharp-toothed jaws and a body covered in rotting tissue.

The monster lives in zone 16 of the Rotten Valley. Be careful with the haze that envelops the body of the Vaal Khazak - it will take a lot of your health (you can reduce the effect with a special berry). Despite the wide variety of physical attacks, it is its special poison that you should be careful of. Don't stand in front of the monster, because... in this case you will definitely be hooked. Also, don't stand behind him, because... can similarly attack from behind, although in this case you have a chance to dodge. Vulnerable parts: head, body and tail, susceptible to fire and dragon damage.

Convergence Land

Final task. Arriving at the place as part of a group, you will find a new dragon. Since he is a newborn, he sometimes makes mistakes in battle, for example, making a hole with an energy beam and falling into the resulting hole, which allows you to attack him. Focus on his tail first before he starts flying and moves into the second area. Having dealt with the tail, move on to the front paws. Then attack the head and, if possible, the wings.

All attacks do a lot of damage, but he barely does combos. The main thing is to beware of energy rays, as well as attacks when the monster hits the ground with both front paws - this can kill you instantly, so if you notice the beginning of an attack, run away immediately.

In the late stage, the dragon will fly more often. Do not stand directly under the monster, because... it can cause colossal damage. The monster has a lot of health, so the battle can drag on. Don't lose your patience! Weak points - head, torso and tail, susceptible to fire and dragon damage.

After defeating the dragon, watch the final cutscene. The storyline is complete.

Monster World (Wonder Boy)

Monster World IV

Developer: West One

Publisher: Sega

release date

Monster World IV is the sixth and final installment in the Monster World (Wonder Boy) series. The Wonder Boy console was not abandoned here for nothing, because here we have to play as a girl. However, the rest of the game is more or less similar to its predecessor - Wonder Boy in Monster World.

Plot: The plot of Monster World IV is simple and straightforward. You have to take control of a girl named Asha, find four spirits and save the kingdom. That's all. Is it worth adding that the game takes place in an Arabian setting, with all the classic attributes, such as genies and flying carpets.

Gameplay: Well, if the plot of Monster World IV is almost non-existent, then with the gameplay things are much better here.

The locations themselves do not pose any particular difficulties at first, but later the labyrinths will become more confusing. Especially worth noting are the ice pyramids, with their signature sadism of sliding ice. Needless to say, they are chock-full of all kinds of traps and puzzles. And in the last stages of the game, you also have to face some very serious somersaults on moving platforms, where one wrong move will lead you to fall on the spikes, which is equivalent to taking away lives and being transported to the beginning of the screen. In general, you won’t be bored, but you can relax on the bosses, since none of them can cause any special problems. The same cannot be said about ordinary enemies, many of whom are very, very insidious.

Graphic arts: Large, bright and colorful. Good detail and overall a fun and funny style. There are no complaints here.

Music: It is curious that almost the entire soundtrack of Monster World IV is permeated with the main theme of the game in different variations. Surprisingly, the same melody in different sauces does not bother you at all. It’s also worth noting that there are some Arabic motifs, fortunately the game’s setting lends itself to this.

Notes: On the Mega Drive, Monster World IV was released only in Japan, but there is a fan translation into English. But in 2012, the official English version was also released, which could be downloaded through the network services of Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Although the game, alas, did not receive a direct sequel. She has a spiritual successor - series Shantae.

Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 29: Monster World Complete Collection

Monster Hunter: World is a diverse game in which you can improve your character in several ways, engage in various activities, kill large and small monsters and even catch them for additional rewards. It’s very easy to get lost in all this diversity, and we’ll tell you exactly what you should do in the first stages of the game.

In the beta, everything was confusing and looked ambiguous. The good news is that the complete edition gradually brings you up to speed, introducing one system after another, allowing you to understand everything. However, even this approach does not make Monster Hunter: World an intuitive game.

First, select a weapon

It's not difficult to explain the principle of Monster Hunter in a nutshell - go hunting, kill small creatures, equip yourself better and go to destroy more formidable opponents. However, if you divide the game into parts, it becomes much more difficult. The first thing to do is choose a weapon. There are 14 types of weapons to choose from, all of which were present in previous games in the series. Each weapon has its own star rating, which indicates how easy it will be for a beginner to handle.

In addition, weapons are divided by severity - there are larger items on display, such as great Ola swords and axes, but there are also more sophisticated options, including a two-handed glaive. There is also a long-range weapon for attacking monsters from afar. Good weapons for beginners would be longswords, sword and shield combos, dual swords, and a light crossbow.

You can head to your room to access the training area. This will allow you to try out the weapon, as well as study all the available combos, hints for which will appear on the screen. This definitely needs to be done at least once.

Find the best weapons and armor

Once you start killing monsters, you'll want to visit a workshop where you can craft better equipment from their remains. Of course, the weapon upgrade tree is much more complex, but first you need to remember one thing - there are no useless upgrades! There is no need to spend a lot of time choosing a more important upgrade, since each of them will bring its own benefits.

It’s easier with armor - it doesn’t have an improvement system. You simply create the best armor possible based on the monster parts you collect. On the other hand, armor has a large number of parameters that you need to gradually understand, but in the early stages, focus on the equipment that has the highest protection rating.

Eat before or during every hunt

Food, which can be bought or prepared in the canteen under the direction of the one-eyed cat, gives an increase in health, attack, defense and much more. As you progress in the game, the food will improve. In addition, you can eat food by the fire by organizing camping in the field. Items for crafting

During your journey you will collect many plants, insects, mushrooms and other ingredients. All of this can be used to create useful items that will provide an advantage in battle - for example, a potion that improves strength or an antidote that cures diseases. You can do this at any location through the corresponding menu or by standing near an item box and using the crafting list. The last one is easiest. There is also an automatic creation feature that is active from the very beginning of the game. Whenever you pick up ingredients for a potion or other common item, the game will automatically create them (if the right amount is collected).

Use the map

The map in Monster Hunter: World is the most useful tool. When you explore a new location, it is filled with various markers that indicate where the rally points, monsters, camps and everything else that may be useful during the journey are located. Look at her as often as possible.

Take time to research

After the first hour or so of play, you'll be able to go on expeditions. This is the free roam mode in Monster Hunter: World. There are no goals or time limits, and you are free to explore the world around you, avoid or engage in battles with monsters. It's definitely worth taking the time to do. This is one of the best ways to get acquainted with beautiful places, try to find all the secrets and hidden corners of each location. Even after 20 hours of play, you will find new places in the first location, in the Ancient Forest.

Tracking Monsters

Monsters always leave traces behind them. We are talking about footprints, as well as clots of mucus (saliva), etc. By studying such traces, you understand the monster better. After this, the scouts will be able to understand in which direction the monster went, which will allow you to track it down. It will also be marked on the map. Select the monster you want to see on the map and the scouts will do the rest.

Use Slinger

The Slinger is a versatile tool that can be used as either a crossbow or a grappling hook. Objects scattered around locations are used as ammunition - stones, seeds, moss. The Slinger will be loaded with the last ammo picked up. Typically, these weapons will not cause significant damage to the monster, but are a useful tool for studying the environment.

Using a slinger.

Look around to see grapple points, hanging rocks that you can shoot or throw at the monster, or traps that you can activate by shooting a rock, such as plants that release poison. If you need to get past the monster, you can distract it by shooting any projectile at the wall.

The hunt begins with preparation

Monster Hunter veterans will be happy to know that you no longer need to fill your inventory with a fishing rod, monster net, pickaxe, or barbecue. All these items will always be with you and will not take up space in your inventory. Monster parts also return to base. Therefore, after destroying a monster, you will not have to throw away several previously collected mushrooms in order to pick up the dropped reward.

This means that your bag now has more space for various gadgets, potions and traps. Literally on every hunt you need to take potions and cook meat, which will restore, for example, HP and stamina.

At the same time, do not forget to use a net to catch small insects and animals. Believe me, you will want to collect a complete collection of all the creatures.

How to ride monsters

Jump from a high point and hit the monster. In this case, there is a chance to ride him! Riding a monster that will try with all its might to throw the hero off its hump looks funny and exciting - it is one of the most exciting actions in the game. Plus, if you hold out long enough, you'll get a chance to perform a spectacular finishing move.

Your faithful friend Palico

Palico is a friendly cat that accompanies you on every quest. You can equip it with weapons and armor. In addition, Palico will also have his own useful gadget. The first gadget will be a spray that summons healing insects right during the battle. In the future you will unlock other various gadgets.

Visit your room

I didn't visit my room for the first ten hours of the game. And imagine my indignation when I realized that there is access to a training area where you are taught various combos of the selected weapon. There you can also change your character's and Palico's equipment, customize your home, or just relax.

Chat with characters in Aster

Talk to all the characters who have "yellow exclamation marks" above their heads. They give you side quests that usually unlock some useful features or items.

Don't disable interface features

It may be tempting to disable any interface features that may result in lost views of colorful waterfalls and other natural features. You don't need to do this, at least not for the first few hours of the game. Every detail of the interface gives you important information.

Always complete tasks from the resource center

At the resource center, you can take on simple side quests (hunting one big monster, completing quests in the Ancient Forest, collecting five plants, etc.), which you will complete passively by completing the main story quests. Each time you do this, you will be rewarded with armor orbs that improve it. They are really helpful. Make sure to return to the resource center after completing a series of quests to pick up new side quests.

Difference between quests and expeditions

Quests are missions with a limited time limit and a fixed goal. Usually it involves hunting one or more monsters, collecting plants, or killing several small creatures. Usually you are given 50 minutes to complete them, and after three deaths the task will be completely failed. There are story quests that usually end with you fighting a big monster. There are side quests that you take from characters in the base that allow you to, for example, unlock new canteen ingredients, gadgets, etc.

Expeditions are not limited in time - you simply go to one of the available locations and explore it. You can do whatever you want - hunt a big monster, look for new base camps, collect plants or fish.

Explorations are additional objectives for expeditions that offer better rewards. You take them from the resource center.

Farming monsters

Let's say you just killed Anjanath, but now want to get his full armor set. You cannot repeat story quests in the game! Take a look at the side missions and find those that will send you on a quest to find Anjanath. Browse the available studies in the resource center and you are sure to find one of them. Or simply go on an expedition and find the monster yourself - this is the worst option as you will not receive any additional reward. Finally, you can fight any monster in the Arena. To gain access, go to the upper part of the base, to the “Meeting Hall”.

Gadgets and robes

There is no need to focus much attention on gadgets and robes. These useful items will be unlocked as you work your way through the story and complete optional quests. One of the early game robes (Ghillie Mantle) hides the main character from monsters, which will be very useful. At the beginning of the game you will also receive a gadget that restores your health. More advanced versions of these tools will be unlocked later as you progress through the storyline.

Group hunting increases the monster's HP

Just select a quest on the board, after which any gamer will be able to join you if you have not made it private. Be careful: the monsters will have much more HP in this case. This additional supply of health points will be the same regardless of the number of hunters - two, three or four players. This leads to the fact that it will be almost impossible to complete group tasks together. The worst scenario that can happen in this case is that you start the game with three or four hunters, but for some reason all your partners drop out of the game and you go to a rendezvous with a monster with a large supply of HP. Perhaps this problem will be fixed in some future patch.
