Nothing stands still. From year to year, qualified specialists find new applications and functions of seemingly simple things, making the possible out of the impossible.

Despite the rapid development of technology, LG products have always been a priority, distinguished by a high level of product quality and multifunctionality of a device.

However, not many are aware of the myriad of possibilities regarding the technology provided for their use, such as:

  • air conditioning systems;
  • Cell phones;
  • laptops;
  • computer monitors;
  • LCD and plasma TVs and so on.

LG TVs provide an opportunity not only to receive new information by watching various films and scientific programs, but also to spend free time using an easily accessible network connection

Thanks to the special Smart TV platform on TVs, you can easily and quickly access the Internet via Wi-Fi.

On a note! The well-known Smart TV platform, which is currently being implemented in TVs, Blu-ray players and video game devices, was previously known as "Connected TV". At its core, TVs that support Smart TV are nothing more than computers in interpretation of TV, with one goal in mind - access to the Internet available to everyone.

Connecting to a local network is possible using several methods.

  1. Directly via LAN ("network cable" or "twisted pair").
  2. Using an external router.

Using an external router:

With a router, it is possible to connect devices not only using a cable, but also thanks to a wireless network. To configure such connections, it is recommended to use the instructions.

Using a network cable:

Direct connection using a LAN cable is quite feasible, but not recommended for the following reasons:

  1. Wi-Fi access to other devices is limited. However, at the moment, TVs that have a built-in function for distributing a wireless connection have entered into use.
  2. Not all models of these devices have the ability to connect in this way.

On a note! Twisted pair - insulated twisted pair conductors. The LAN cable, which consists of 4 such pairs, is actively used in the data transmission network.

Guide for connecting a wireless Wi-Fi network to "LG" TV

There are two ways to properly set up the Internet connection with your TV. Each of them is subdivided into several steps.

The wireless connection is done like this:

Step 1. Press the "Settings" button on the control panel, thus entering the settings.

Step 2. Select the "Network" section, then clicking on the "Network Connection" item.

Step 3. Click on the "Configure connection" icon.

Step 4. Choose from all the proposed wireless networks (if their number exceeds 1) the one you need to connect.

Step 5. By entering the password in advance.

Step 6. Click on "Finish" and then close the window.

Now the TV is connected to the Internet wirelessly.

Guide for connecting Wi-Fi network by wired connection (thanks to LAN cable) to LG TV

Including, you should talk about connecting the device proposed above to the Internet using a network cable.

To do this, you should also follow the points given below:

Step 1. Connect the router (or modem) to the TV by inserting one end of the cable into the LAN connector built directly into the router, and the other into the same connector that must be on the TV.

Step 2. Going into Smart TV and, as before, opening the settings, you need to click on the "Network" button (it is located at the very top and has the ability to configure the connection to the Internet), and then check the "Configure connection" function. Seeing the opened option in front of you, select "Wired network".

Step 4. Using the control panel, click on the "Finish" button. Now you have the opportunity to enter the Internet via a wired connection using a network LAN cable.

The video tutorial below provides an opportunity to learn more and see both connection methods with a visual example.

Video - How to connect Wi-Fi to LG TV

Kind time of the day, my wonderful readers. Not so long ago, my parents bought an excellent TV with Smart TV function (brand LG 32LM620T). Among other things, this model has passive 3D support and a bunch of other bells and whistles.

But my today's post will be about Smart TV, namely about its connection to the Internet. After all, Smart TV at its core is a system that transforms your TV into an almost multimedia computer. In addition to a huge number of applications and libraries with movies and games (paid and free), there is a full-fledged browser with Flash support, and videos from Youtube and other video hosting sites play very well there. And therefore, Smart TV simply must be connected to the Internet, otherwise there is no benefit from it.

Connecting a TV to the Internet is possible in two ways: either via a regular Ethernet cable, or via Wi-Fi. Obviously, the second option is the most convenient, because the TV is often installed in a room where there is no computer, and in the case of a cable connection, you have to drag a rather long wire that still needs to be hidden somewhere.

But what a bad luck! The TV cannot be connected to Wi-Fi anyhow. Sly Koreans have foreseen for this opportunity the purchase of a separate Wi-Fi adapter, which costs from 2,5 thousand rubles and more (depending on the greed of sellers in your city). In addition, they write that this adapter is rather weak, does not provide high-quality information transfer even to the next room, and its speed is de facto limited to 10-20 Mbit (although 300 Mbit is stated in the passport, which is an outright lie).

Parents have Internet from Rostelecom, the same one that goes around the apartment in the form of optics and requires a special modem, which Rostelecom itself supplies. The modem itself is a router and provides the Internet in the form of Wi-Fi, in addition, it has a sufficient number of ports for connecting Ethernet cables.

At first, we used the cheap and angry option, buying 5 meters of cable and running it behind the cabinets. This worked until it became necessary to remove the cable due to renovations in the apartment. By the way, the TV also lost its usual function, as it used cable TV from the same provider.

So the new cool TV would have stood idle, if by accident I hadn't found an ancient Wi-Fi device called Access Point D-Link DWL-2100AP in the closet. This is almost a Wi-Fi router, but the Access Point (AP), unlike the latter, does not know how to create its own subnets, so it will not work to connect several devices to the Internet using it.

My idea was to configure the AP in Repeater mode, in which it transmits into the cable exactly what it receives from Wi-Fi and vice versa, that is, it allows you to consider Wi-Fi as a regular wire, while TV he will not even suspect that the Internet goes to it via Wi-Fi, but will work as with a regular wire, which is what we need.

Conceived - done. After about an hour of fiddling, I was able to set up the AP and connect a TV to it so that the Smart TV worked no worse than with a regular cable. The speed is enough to watch movies of any quality, watch HD videos in Youtube with 1080p quality and quickly surf the Internet.

Considering that an inexpensive AP can now be bought for about 500 rubles, this solution is more than suitable. The only drawback I can note is that the AP is larger than the proprietary "Wi-Fi whistle" and is powered by an external source, but all this can be hidden behind the TV, even if it is hanging on the wall.

AP settings will depend on its specific type, but I will still give a screenshot of the AP settings of the DWL-2100AP type for Smart TV connection via Wi-Fi.

This screenshot should be explained a bit.

In the Mode selector, you must specify "Repeater", after which the AP asks for the name of the Wi-Fi network that will be used for communication. You can click the button and select a network from the available active networks. Next, you need to select the authentication method accepted in your Wi-Fi network (mine is WPA2-PSK). After that, you need to specify twice the password for entering the network (Passphrase and Confirmed passphrase).

On the TV, you must specify the same settings as when connecting with a simple wire. If the router is configured in DHCP mode, then all IP and DNS should be in "Auto". There are, however, exceptions, some routers (like, for example, a router from Rostelecom), even when configured in DHCP mode, are in no hurry to issue dynamic addresses to all devices. I could not get. I had to register IP and DNS hard on TV. But it works, and that's the most important thing.

That's all for today, if you have any questions - ask in the comments!

P.S. If you are not yet the proud owner of an LG Smart TV, but you have an LG digital flat screen TV, how can you convert it to a media center using a simple flash drive.

Having bought a new lg brand TV, many owners are faced with technical difficulties. First of all, in order to use all the functions of "smart" technology, you need to connect the TV to the Internet, and the most convenient and popular way to do this is a wireless wi-fi connection. This review is devoted to a detailed analysis of ways to connect an lg TV to the Internet via wi-fi.

How to connect a TVLgto the internet viawi- fi router: options

  • Through a router;
  • Using a computer or laptop;
  • Additional equipment (useful if the TVlg is not built inwi-fi);

Wi-Firouter

If you have an Internet connection from any provider at home, but you do not have a router, you will have to purchase one, the router will allow you to transmit a wireless signal to all receiving devices. In order to connect the lg TV to wi-fi, you will need a password, which you can change in the device settings. The very same connection consists of several simple stages that involve working with the TV interface.

Go to the TV settings, select "Network connection" and "Wireless network". Here you will see all the available options from which you need to select the name of your Internet, the default is usually the name of the brand of the router. After that, use the on-screen keyboard and enter the password, if everything is done correctly and the data is valid, the connection will be established.

Computer or laptop

Modern computers and laptops are equipped with a wi-fi transmitter, that is, they can replace a router. The connection process is not much different from the previous option, although in some TV models it may be necessary to enter additional data, IP address and DNS server, but usually the technician requires such data with a wired connection.

Naturally, in order to provide your lg TV with an uninterrupted connection, your computer must be constantly turned on. The same connection option is available using modern smartphones, with proper equipment configuration, the wi-fi speed will be sufficient for watching online channels and films.

Optional equipment

Not all TV models are equipped with a built-in wi-fi module, so we will consider the option of how to connect wi-fi to an lg TV using a special adapter. You can buy a similar adapter at any computer store. It is necessary to insert the adapter into the USB connector, after which the signal of the router will be sent to the TV.

  • To use the last connection method, the TV itself must support the Internet, that is, the adapter is not considered a system at all if the TV is not equipped with the necessary functionality.

To choose the appropriate option from those offered in this review, read the instructions for your TV.

Modern TVs have become more like enlarged smartphones. Many models have a built-in module for connecting to the Internet or a cable input. But what if the TV is not so fashionable, that is, connection is possible, but only with the use of additional devices?

For example, pulling wires, especially across half a room if a TV with a modem is in different places, is inconvenient and not aesthetically pleasing. Moreover, there is a risk of accidentally touching the wire and damaging if not the TV itself, then the modem or the input for the wire, very easily. There is a more reliable, simple, but more expensive method - connecting a wi-fi adapter to the TV.

What is a wi-fi adapter

If your TV model does not have a module for receiving a Wi-Fi signal, this does not mean that it cannot be connected to the Internet. In this situation, it is enough to purchase a special adapter that matches your TV.

A receiver connected to a TV picks up wireless waves as well as a built-in module. In appearance, the adapter resembles an ordinary USB flash drive and is plugged into the Usb connector.

But this does not mean that you can take any adapter of the corresponding brand. As with any choice, there are nuances here.
