Sports beach volleyball. Beach Volleyball Game Rules

Whiplash is a spectacular and emotional game. This sport is loved in many countries, andUkraine is notexception.

Beach volleyball or beach volleyball is almost 100 years old! The first playgrounds appeared in California in the 1920s. Palm trees, the ocean, surfing, speedboats, tanned girls in bathing suits - this was the entourage of the first games. And such a beach, there, on the California coast, remains today. Only now these are not amateur games for amateurs, but very serious large-scale competitions, in which the commercial component is not the last place. Although, of course, no one forbids fans of this sport to stretch between and sunbathing on a deck chair.

Very soon, in 1927, thanks to nudists, people learned about beach volleyball in France. Very quickly, interest in the game spread to other European countries: Latvia, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia.

After the Second World War, scourge-will becomes an official sport: uniform rules are developed, the first tournaments are held. The constant interest in the game, apart from, of course, the game itself, is fueled by the accompanying bright and spectacular surroundings, since games are always accompanied by interesting events and always turn into real spectacular shows. Here are beauty contests, and various performances, and performances of artists.

Recognized leaders in beach volleyball in the USA and Brazil - the teams of these countries have won almost all the world championships and Olympic tournaments.

Beach volleyball came to the USSR at about the same time as perestroika. At the amateur level, this sport, of course, existed on one-sixth of the land before, but the first official competitions took place in 1986. Today in Ukraine they are very interested in this sport: tournaments of various sizes and meanings are not only traditional entertainment on the shores of the Black Sea, and they are organized even in those cities where, as they say, there is no smell of the sea.

Local residents of many Ukrainian cities believe that the city beach is enough for them to create a holiday. And to your health! And beach volleyball, and with it the sun, water, air and just a good mood, provide an excellent synergistic effect and charge you with vivacity and optimism for a long time.

Basic Beach Volleyball Rules

Wherever this game is played, in California or, say, in Kharkov, the rules are the same and inviolable everywhere, as, indeed, in any other sport. In whip-will they are:

The game takes place on a sandy area divided by a high grid. Two teams, each with two players on opposite sides of the net and throwing the ball with their hands. The task of each team is to land the ball in the opponent's half and prevent it from falling on its side.

To win a match, you need to win two games. The game is played up to 21 points. This is followed by the third, decisive game, which is played up to 15 points. To win, a score difference of at least two points is required. During the game, a team is entitled to a 30-second time-out.

The basic principle of the game is that every rally is a point. In the event that the rally is won by the receiving side, it receives a point and the right to serve the ball. When serving, the players alternate in this way: the first serves until the team loses the right to serve due to an error or loss of a point. The next time a team is awarded the service, the other player serves.

An interesting feature of beach volleyball, which has become the rule, is that you can hit the ball with any part of the body. Another peculiarity, which is also exclusively inherent in beach volleyball, is that the sides change here more often. This is the principle of justice, it is believed that teams should be equally dependent on external factors: wind, sun.

Substitution of players in beach volleyball is prohibited. If a certain force majeure occurs, for example, a player's disqualification, injury or refusal to continue the match, then the team is considered defeated. A system of punishments is also provided for in this sport: a yellow card is a warning, a red is a remark leading to a loss of a point, both at the same time in different hands - a defeat in the game, both in one hand - a defeat in the match. The coach can only watch the match from the tribune.

The sports uniform of the players in this sport is probably more accessible than in any other: shorts or a bathing suit, athletes play barefoot. The ball in beach volleyball is slightly different from the classic one: its circumference is larger - 66-68 cm, and the pressure in it is less, the ball should be bright.

What should be a professional player

Just like a professional volleyball player, a beach volleyball player must be distinguished by special jumping ability, good reaction, strength and, of course, feel the ball. But in addition to this, additional requirements are put forward to him: athleticism, since playing on the sand, the athlete has to make jumps and jumps more often; endurance, because the rules do not provide for the replacement of a player, and games, meanwhile, often take place in rather difficult conditions in the heat, in the rain or in strong winds.

A beach volleyball player also needs some kind of universalism. This is due to the fact that the beach volleyball team consists of only two people, and each of these two must be what is called "a Swiss, and a reaper, and a dude at the game."

In the warm season, many are not averse to combining business with pleasure and run around under the scorching sun for a ball. Beach volleyball not only pleasantly diversifies a serene vacation on the coast, but also helps to compensate for kebabs and other high-calorie delicacies that will certainly accompany outdoor recreation. The more often you play, the better you will get. In addition, you will perfectly develop coordination of movements and quickness of reaction. Yes, and giving a load to the muscles is more pleasant in a fun team game than running alone in the park with a player.

Beach volleyball: subtleties

Beach volleyball, which has a second, less common name, beach volleyball, is very popular nowadays. On good beaches, there are certainly special areas that allow everyone to have fun and exercise, or even make a new acquaintance.

A game like beach volleyball is much simpler than usual: here all the rules are quite flexible, and even the ball can be hit not only with your hands, but in general with anything you have to. You can play at least two, at least ten. The main thing here is only the presence of two teams. The goal of the game remains classic: you need to hit the ball over the net, to the side of the opponents, so that they do not have time to fold it back, and the ball touches the ground.

There are also a number of features that you should pay attention to in order to make the game enjoyable and safe:

  1. The size of the beach volleyball court should be about 16x8 m and is divided in half by a high net. Please note that the playground should not be paved or sown with grass: beach volleyball involves sand.
  2. Beach volleyball sand is worth inspecting before the game: if you notice various sharp stones, glass or shell fragments in it, it is better to give up the game so as not to spend the rest of the day at the nearest emergency room.
  3. The height of the beach volleyball net is the standard 2.24 m. It is not too low, but also not too high. In short, participants of any height can easily throw the ball over such a height.
  4. The beach volleyball should be slightly larger than the standard ball.
  5. The women's beach volleyball uniform is your swimsuit. Some girls wear shorts, but you can do without them.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated about it, expensive equipment is not required - you just need a great mood!

The history of the emergence and development of beach volleyball

Beach volleyball originated in the early 1920s on the beaches of California (USA). In 1927, beach volleyball was learned in Europe, first in France, and then in Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia and Latvia.

The first official beach volleyball tournament was held in the United States in 1947, after which the game began to gain popularity and almost equaled surfing.

In 1965, the California Beach Volleyball Association was formed and developed the first rules for beach volleyball. In 1983, the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) was created.

In 1986, beach volleyball received the status of an international sport, and in 1987, the first, not yet official, world championship was held in Rio de Janeiro. The first official championship was held only in 1997 in Los Angeles.

In 1996, Beach Volleyball made its debut at the Olympic Games in Atlanta (USA).

Beach volleyball rules (briefly)

Consider briefly the rules of the beach volleyball game. Let's make a reservation right away that the rules in beach volleyball are the same for men and women. Beach volleyball teams consist of two people, if one of the players is injured and cannot continue the game, then this team is awarded a defeat.

The teams will serve in turn, the first team serving until it loses the right to serve due to a point loss or error. After the team plays the serve again, another player serves, etc.

A beach volleyball match is made up of two games, each going up to 21 points. If the game reaches the third game, then the score is up to 15 points. To win in each of the games, a difference in the score of at least two points is required. Teams switch sides more often than in regular volleyball. The side switching takes place after every seven points in the first two sets, and every five points in the third.

Rules for receiving the ball: in beach volleyball, the ball can be hit with any part of the body, but the players of the same team can touch the ball no more than three times, after which they must return it to the opponent's side.

For violations of the rules or inappropriate behavior, players receive warnings (yellow card), remarks (red card), deletions (red and yellow cards at the same time, means a defeat in the game) or disqualifications (red and yellow cards in different hands at the same time, means a defeat in the match) ...

Beach volleyball court

The dimensions of the beach volleyball court are 16 meters long and 8 meters wide. The site is covered with sand at least 40 cm deep and divided into two equal parts by a net. The net in men's beach volleyball is at a height of 2.43 meters, and in women's beach volleyball at a height of 2.24 meters.

The marking of the volleyball court is carried out using 5 cm tapes, which are attached with metal pegs or special wooden discs.

Beach volleyball uniforms and equipment

The beach volleyball ball is slightly larger than its classic counterpart (66-68 cm), and the pressure in it, on the contrary, is less. The ball must be brightly colored.

Beach volleyball equipment is shorts or swimwear, without any shoes on your feet.

Refereeing

Beach volleyball refereeing is carried out with the help of two main referees, one of whom (the first) makes sure that the techniques during the game are performed in accordance with the rules. He can also correct the decisions of the second referee.

The second referee monitors the progress at the net and at the center line, as well as the behavior of coaches and substitutes, provides comprehensive assistance to the first referee. In addition to the main judges, there are line judges on the field.

Beach volleyball, despite its status as a professional sport, is highly popular among outdoor enthusiasts.

About beach volleyball

Today, beach volleyball (also called beach volley) is not only a professional and commercial sport, but also one of the most popular types of outdoor activities. Originating as a form of classic volleyball, beach volleyball has become a sport in its own right. Despite the similarities between the two sports, there are significant differences between them.

Athletes playing beach volleyball, in addition to the traditional jumping ability for volleyball players, good reaction, strong serve and ball feeling, must have a number of other qualities:

Athleticity (playing on sticky sand requires excellent physical fitness from athletes)

Endurance (the game takes place in all weather conditions, and there are no substitutions during the match)

Universalism (a beach volleyball team consists of only two people, and the players do not have a clear division by role)

Beach volleyball is a unique sport, and its players are often referred to as “one big family”. The almost unchanged composition of participants in professional competitions and a busy calendar of games lead to the fact that they spend most of their time together - in airplanes, airports and hotels. Often, volleyball players from different countries can be linked not only by friendship, but also, for example, by a common coach. Therefore, during matches, the players of the opposing teams invariably exchange friendly handshakes and try to cheer each other up, but of course all this does not in any way affect the desire of each of the teams to snatch victory.

Rules of the game

In official competitions, beach volleyball is played by two teams, two people each and no substitutions. The game takes place on a sandy area (8 by 16 meters), divided by a net (height for men - 2.43 m and for women - 2.24 m). The goal of the game is to ensure that the ball touches the court on the opponent's side, and in turn, to prevent the ball from falling on your side. The ball can be hit with any part of the body.

The ball is brought into play by the server. When the ball is on someone's side, the team can hit the ball three times in order to throw it over the opponent's half. Moreover, the player has no right to hit the ball twice in a row (except in cases of blocking or at the first touch).

The rally continues until the ball touches the court, goes out of bounds, or one of the teams makes a mistake. The team that wins the rally earns a point and the right to serve the ball. The serving players must change when the service transitions.

In beach volleyball, a match is played in 2 games, and the team that wins two games wins the match. And if after the first two games the score is 1: 1, then the decisive third game is played. The game is considered won if one of the teams scores 21 points with a difference of 2 points. But if the score in the game is 20:20, then the game continues until the score reaches a difference of two points. If it comes to the third set, then the victory is awarded to the team that scored 15 points with a difference of 2 points. When the score is 14:14, the game continues until the score reaches a difference of two points.

As for the games of amateurs, here the rules can be whatever, the main thing is to get a charge of good mood from the game!

Beach volleyball

The main requirement for a ball for playing beach volleyball is that it must be waterproof, since playing on the beach involves regularly hitting it in the water. Most often, balls are made of elastic materials: synthetic leather, polyurethane or
polyvinyl chloride, sometimes made of genuine leather (such balls are more expensive and at the same time inferior to synthetic counterparts in a number of characteristics). The color for the ball is chosen in bright shades, more often orange, yellow or white.

Balls used for international competitions under the auspices of the FIVB have the following parameters:

Circumference: 66 - 68 cm.

Weight: 260 - 280 cm

Internal pressure: 171 - 221 MBar or kPa (0.175 - 0.225 kg / cm2).

It is interesting

The world record for the strength of the serve belongs to the Russian Igor Kolodinsky, the ball after his serves reaches a speed of 114 km / h. In total, there are only 6 players in the world at the moment, whose feed speed exceeds 100 km / h.
