More information on the topic:

The Moscow plant FDplast offers to purchase high-quality equipment for welding polypropylene products. The FD welding machine for polypropylene pipes makes it possible to quickly install polypropylene pipes and fittings. Welding has the following advantages:

  • minimum expenditure of consumables,
  • high quality connection of pipes and fittings,
  • ease of use of equipment.

Working with a welding machine for propylene pipes does not require special skills or skills. It is often called a soldering iron because the principles of operation of these machines are similar.

Selection of welding equipment

Socket and socket types require fittings. If this option is not suitable, it is worth buying a pipe welding machine that produces butt soldering of PP blanks. This option is the most economical since it does not involve the use of fittings. You can also buy welding for polypropylene pipes, which works on the principle of a contact-butt joint. Its essence lies in the sealed connection of the molten ends under high pressure. The strength of the seams obtained is equal to the strength of the body. The technique is capable of providing a high welding temperature - 250–260 ° C, which makes it possible to obtain a strong connection.

  • By connection type welding machine for polypropylene pipes can be:
    • bell-shaped,
    • muff,
    • butt.
  • By the mechanism of action. Welding machines can be subdivided into manual and mechanical type machines. Mechanical welding is used to weld large diameter pipes. Such devices are distinguished by complicated control. Manual type devices are used for welding small diameter products. The devices are small in size, easy to move, lightweight and reliable.

Plastic pipes have long gained popularity in the construction markets, not least due to their low cost and simple process of assembling the finished structure, which allowed them to stand out from other options. Plastic pipes are reliable and durable, they are not afraid of rust and are lightweight - which, together with other advantages, made them so popular. However, such pipes can also leak. This is mainly due to the violation of the pipe soldering process and the errors made in this case. This, as well as the installation features, will be discussed later.

Varieties of welding PVC pipes

At the moment, there are two ways to solder PVC pipes. By itself, manual pipe welding is not technically difficult, but even the preparatory work should be done carefully and carefully to avoid future leaks. Experts identify the following work methods:

  • welding pipes using a special soldering iron and cutting shears (this welding technology is used in many jobs and, in fact, is the most widespread),
  • "Cold" welding (this method is simpler and allows you to work without the presence of a soldering device. To work on pipe joining, it is enough to work with aggressive adhesive for hard plastics).

The first two methods are primarily suitable for piping systems through which high pressure water is not expected to be pumped. If it is supposed to supply water or for heating systems under pressure, then welding involves several other methods:

  • socket welding. In this case, connecting elements (couplings, fittings, etc.) are additionally welded to the pipe,
  • electrofusion welding. In this type of welding, the couplings contain special connecting elements that melt when voltage is applied to them, ensuring reliable soldering with pipe sections,
  • butt welding. A fairly simple process inherently used for welding large diameter pipes. In this case, the ends of the pipes are heated to the melting temperature (200-250 degrees) and simply connected together.

In fact, all the described methods are based on the same aspect: when exposed to high temperatures, the PVC material melts and forms a reliable connection due to the mutual penetration of particles into each other.

Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. Simple welding allows you to work with different types of plastic pipes, but requires some skill. The use of an adhesive joint has high performance, practically not inferior to welding. But given the fact that polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes are not recommended for hot water (except for some varieties that can withstand high temperatures), this method of joining with glue is best used for communication systems that do not use high pressure.

Equipment used for welding

Welding of plastic pipes does not require a specific tool and allows you to carry out all the work alone. To do this, you need scissors for cutting (it is only important to first make sure on the unnecessary section, how sharply they are sharpened in order to avoid possible deformation and burrs during cutting) and a special soldering iron with various nozzles for socket welding of pipes. A manual welding machine (soldering iron) must be selected taking into account the specifics of the work. For example, for welding plastic structures, the power of the soldering iron should be selected taking into account the diameter of the pipe. This will be discussed below.

When performing work, it is important to do all actions deliberately and slowly, since pipe welding is quite simple and can provide 15 years of trouble-free service of the water supply system, but only if the work is done correctly.

How PVC pipes are welded

Any welding process, whether it be the "cold" method or standard soldering using a special soldering iron, requires preparatory work first. They include the following steps:

  • cleaning pipes in places of future connection from any elements of pollution,
  • degreasing pipe joints by rubbing with alcohol,
  • preparation on the sections of the mark of entry into the fitting (non-removable connecting part of the pipeline, which is installed in those places where the pipes have branches or bends), while remembering that the pipe is not inserted to the maximum stop, it is required to leave a gap of at least a millimeter,
  • chamfering from the ends of the pipes so that the pipe fits as tightly and without much effort into the connecting fitting.

After the preliminary work has been completed, proceed directly to the soldering process. Such a stage of work as pipe welding is not difficult to do with your own hands. Basically, the task is divided into four stages:

  • slicing,
  • heating to the desired temperature (250 degrees),
  • connection of pipe sections to each other,
  • cooling.

Cutting of pipes is carried out using a pipe cutter (well-sharpened special scissors, which will allow you to quickly and without defects accurately cut off pipe sections of the required size (if this tool is not available, a hacksaw for metal will do).

Welding should be carried out with heat-resistant gloves and in compliance with safety regulations to avoid burns from the heating elements of the soldering iron. In fact, this is the most important stage of the work, since the actions must be carried out at such a speed that the alloyed elements do not have time to cool down, and it is important not to allow skewing when joining.

After connecting the pipe sections, it is important to securely fix the connection without applying any external loads to it. The last step is to let the finished compound cool (at least 20 minutes).

As you can see from the work process, at first glance it is quite simple. Its important feature is the correct calculation, since any negligence committed during work can already have an extremely negative effect on the reliability of the connections. Those plastic pipes, which were welded with skillful hands, will not need repair for many years.

Common mistakes when welding pipes

Mistakes made at the initial stages will surely appear in the future and therefore it is important to avoid negligence when performing work. The specialists identified typical problems that may arise at different stages of the work:

  • incorrect alignment of connecting elements,
  • excessive force when joining pipe sections,
  • insufficient heating of the connecting elements,
  • excessive overheating of the tool,
  • incorrectly selected heating device.

If, when combined with a PVC fitting, the pipe was not inserted up to the internal stop, then there will be a gap, which will have a lower pressure. In fact, such a section will have a smaller wall thickness and a larger inner diameter. Often a similar error occurs if, during heating, the pipe itself was not tightly inserted into the base of the nozzle of the soldering iron welding element. From the outside, such a defect will not be noticeable, which complicates the process of identifying a defect during soldering.

On the other hand, the use of excessive force can also damage the soldering elements. In this case, the so-called "burr" will be squeezed out between the end of the plastic pipe and the internal stop of the connecting fitting, which, when melted, form rings that reduce the passable properties. In fact, there will be a noticeable obstruction to the fluid flow.

Insufficient heating of the connecting elements leads to defects in material joining, especially if we take into account the fact that the PVC pipe sections must be welded quickly, otherwise the quality of the connection will leave much to be desired.

During the connection work, the temperature of the working surface of the welding nozzle should not exceed 260 degrees, in increments of plus / minus 10 degrees. This is the optimum temperature for work, regardless of what pipe diameter the work is done. This degree of heating allows you to create an internal stress of the material at the soldering point, which is necessary to perform the work. Therefore, all actions must be carried out quickly, until overheating is beyond the permissible range. With this in mind, the heating rate of the soldering iron should not be exceeded, even if it maintains higher temperatures.

The last common mistake is the wrong equipment for welding PVC pipes. There is a certain pattern that the power of the heater used in the work should correspond to ten times the diameter of the plastic pipe. In other words, to weld a pipe with a diameter of 50 millimeters, a heater with a capacity of 500 watts is required, and a heater of 1000 watts with a diameter of 100 millimeters.

Economy-class welding equipment (which is often manufactured by China or Turkey) is characterized by the use of additional components as part of an aluminum heater. This is done in order to provide an additional degree of heating of the heating element in the welding equipment, but this imposes an unnecessary load on the power supply and relay contacts. Such innovations are absent in equipment for soldering pipes from more eminent manufacturers, therefore, in this case, the cost of buying good professional equipment will more than pay off with high-quality work.

  • pVC pipes and fittings must be from the same manufacturer. First of all, this concerns the desire to save money and purchase, for example, good quality components, but at the same time buying cheap Chinese pipes - do not expect the melting temperature to be the same. It is possible that at first during the check the defect will not be found, but later it will most likely be able to manifest itself,
  • before buying, it is worth checking the temperature regime of the soldering iron or welding station. Since the price range of the cost of equipment is very wide, there may be a desire to save money. But in this case, it cannot be guaranteed that the required temperature of 260 degrees Celsius will be reached during operation of the heater. It is advisable to check its capabilities in terms of efficient soldering before purchasing equipment. This advice may look ridiculous, but it can prevent money loss on the purchase of equipment that is not able to maintain the correct temperature regime,
  • economy is the enemy of quality. There are known examples when a good thing is not expensive, but if it became necessary to use a soldering iron for frequent work with a large amount of material, then it is better to adhere to the opinion that the better and, accordingly, the more expensive the equipment, the longer it will live. The country of origin also matters. It is better to choose products from renowned manufacturers. The same applies to attachments and tools for work,
  • keep the connection area clean. The ingress of even a small amount of dust or dirt particles can disrupt the quality of the adhesion. Of course, this is not always possible, especially when replacing large-diameter pipes, which may not be at all in a clean environment, and yet you should try to follow this recommendation,
  • work at the appropriate temperature. If the weather outside or indoors leaves much to be desired, then it should be remembered that work cannot be carried out at temperatures below five degrees Celsius. Even at this temperature, the heating time increases and the joints become brittle.

Still, it's worth remembering the old hackneyed truth that quality work requires quality tools. It is necessary to pay attention to all the accompanying little things and then in the process of work you can avoid possible mistakes and their consequences. If you still have questions about how pipes are welded, the video will clearly demonstrate the process and help to consolidate the acquired skills.

Replacing or installing water pipes from scratch is a responsible process, so the material must be selected very carefully. It must be durable, corrosion-resistant, and easy to use. Best of all, today, polypropylene pipes are suitable for this purpose. Among the advantages of the material are a service life of more than 50 years, ease of installation, relative cheapness of the material and many other advantages. The installation of a new distribution of heating or water supply is carried out using soldering technology, it is also the welding of pvc pipes. Do-it-yourself welding of polypropylene pipes is the simplest process that, after a little preparation, any owner can handle. Below, we will consider what the technology of welding polypropylene pipes is, its nuances.

The main material - plastic pipes, has its own characteristics and is classified according to a number of characteristics. The first thing that catches your eye is the color. They can be painted green, gray, white or black. Marking in black means that the composition contains special additives that prevent the destruction of the material when exposed to ultraviolet light and can be laid directly on the ground. The rest of the colors do not have differences associated with coloring and are used indoors or under a layer of primer.

Classification of pipes by purpose:

  • for cold water supply (marked with a blue stripe, the maximum water temperature is 45C).
  • for hot water supply (marked with a red stripe, maximum temperature 85C).
  • universal (marked with blue and red stripes, temperatures can reach 65 - 75 C, depending on the manufacturer).

Models for hot, cold water supply and universal type have markings that indicate additional performance indicators of the material:

  1. PN10 - marking of products for cold water used at a system pressure of up to 1 MPa (not for apartment pipelines);
  2. PN16 is a marking applicable in universal pipes and cold water. Such material can withstand temperatures up to 65C and a pressure of 1.6 MPa;
  3. PN20 - material with a thickened wall, withstand pressure up to 2 MPa and temperature 85C (welding of heating pipes);
  4. PN25 - pipes reinforced with a reinforcing layer of fiberglass or foil. Withstand pressure up to 2.5 MPa and water temperature 95C.

Necessary equipment and tools

For welding polypropylene pipes, you will need a certain set of equipment, these are:

  1. The welding machine itself;
  2. A set of heating nozzles of various diameters;
  3. Cutting device;
  4. Shaver - a device that removes the reinforcing layer (necessary when working with PN25 marking);
  5. Chamfer is a device necessary for aligning the cut ends (necessary if plastic products are cut with a hacksaw or a suitable tool that does not give a perfectly flat cut end).

Socket welding technology - step by step instructions

Socket welding involves joining a pipe and a fitting by inserting parts into each other. Such welding of polypropylene pipes with your own hands is considered the simplest, there is also a butt welding system, but the technology used there can complicate the work, especially at home. Therefore, below we described how the step-by-step process of welding polypropylene pipes goes.

Pipe cutting

Cut the material with a tool intended for this. If there is none, then the cut can be made with a hacksaw or other available tool, the main thing is not to damage the geometry and keep the cutting plane even. For the latter, a chamfer is intended; it is also used to clean the butt, in which the reinforcing layer is closer to the inner diameter. Otherwise, this element can form loose connection gaps and cause leakage.

The polypropylene pipe is cut to size with a special ratchet knife

Preparation of pipes and fittings

Before welding the pipes, from the outside, degrease with alcohol, and the fittings from the inside. For reinforced products, a special device is used that removes the hardening layer - the shaver.

Please note that some manufacturers advise using a shaver for conventional shavers, due to the possible ellipseness of the material in the cut.

Shaver for stripping the upper aluminum-reinforced layer

Welding machine preparation

Despite the fact that most devices have their own supporting elements, the device should be firmly fixed in a vice or clamps to the table. The device is very light, so it can easily fall and break, or cause a fire if it is loose.

We put the coupling and mandrel into the fixed welding machine.

Welding nozzles

We set the toggle switch to the required temperature value. For polypropylene, this is 270 degrees, but there are times when a lower or higher temperature is required. We take these values from the accompanying documentation for our material and using the instructions for the soldering iron, we select the optimal temperature.

Installing parts for warm-up

The technology of welding polypropylene pipes means that when the device reaches the operating temperature (the green indicator lights up or the sound signal is triggered), you can start installing the parts to be welded on the pipe welding machine.

Slowly insert the cut into the coupling until it stops, while a burr is formed - excess material, which, when put on, rolls into a roller. When putting on, it is very important to ensure that the bead has the correct shape, without tears or other defects. If the part is inserted without visible force or the grant is missing, it can be considered defective and should be replaced. The same applies to the fitting, which must also be put on with visible force on the mandrel, until it stops.

Important! Installation for heating and removal should be carried out by pressing on the part strictly perpendicular to the heating element. Pressure at an angle or removal of parts with their removal at a certain angle is prohibited.

Welding

When the elements to be welded are installed in their places, they need to be given a certain time so that the material acquires viscous flow and at the same time the polypropylene welding rod does not lose its bearing properties. The following are approximate parameters suitable for welding polypropylene pipes of various diameters. It should be noted that the values are averaged, and more accurate, the manufacturer indicates in the accompanying documentation.

Welding temperature of polypropylene pipes, cooling time, depending on the thickness

To navigate in the terms given in the table, you should adhere to the following definitions:

  1. The heating time is counted from the moment the part touches the heating element stop.
  2. Connection time is a parameter that shows how long the pipes for welding polypropylene should be kept after they are assembled.
  3. Cooling time is the time period that should be maintained for complete solidification and obtaining a monolithic bond.

Assembling parts

After removing the parts from the heating nozzle, they should be assembled. To connect pvc pipes, the fitting is installed at the required angle, and the pipes are connected together with a single movement.

In this case, it is forbidden to turn the parts. We hold the parts, keeping them motionless, but without applying effort, as when putting on.
The time that elapses between removal from the welding machine to the actual assembly should be minimal. Otherwise, the parts will cool down and will not weld or the connection will be of poor quality.

Note! For welding polypropylene pipes of large diameter 40-50 mm, manual methods are not suitable and a special centering device must be used.

Cooling compound

An important point when you should not touch the part, including trying to try it on, and so on. After cooling, the do-it-yourself welded polypropylene pipe loop is ready for use.

Welding errors

Welding plastic pipes with your own hands, especially for beginners, will lead to a number of errors. We have selected the most frequent ones so that you can understand how to weld parts correctly, what you should pay attention to.

  1. Rough preparation is the simplest and most common oversight. Improper edge formation, dirt, water and grease at the welded polypropylene pipes and similar neglect of preparation leads to the fact that the joint loses its solidity.
  2. Positioning errors are defects that occur during assembly. These are attempts to crank the part after collection, attempts to remove nodules during collection. All this means cooling of the parts with a subsequent decrease in the quality of the weld.
  3. Wrong material. Here we turn to the features of PP pipe welding. Polypropylene from different manufacturers can have different melting points, which means that one of the parts can be subcooled or overheated. Also, this problem arises when trying to weld two pipes of different diameters.
  4. Poor assembly - this should include excessive pressure during assembly, insufficient pressure, an increase in the interval between removing the product from the welding machine and collecting.

All the problems described are quite common and for the most part appear due to the usual negligence shown by the welder. The instructions for welding polypropylene pipes presented above, a trial attempt to weld standard joints and processing of polypropylene pipes in hard-to-reach places will help to avoid problems.

When the water pipes in the house need to be replaced or repaired, people usually seek help from specialists in this field - plumbers. However, due to the fact that modern pipes are now made not only of their cast iron, but also of plastic, the process of replacing this element can be done with your own hands.

Of course, as in any other business, here it is necessary to take into account all the subtleties of the process, since improper repairs can lead to poor-quality pipe connections and cause serious leaks.

Benefits

It is best to give preference to pipes made of plastic, because, unlike cast iron, they have a lot of undeniable advantages.

As you can see, plastic is much easier to weld than metal, especially at home when urgent replacement or repair is required.

Types of pipes that are suitable for welding

Pipes made of plastic have some characteristic features, and their classification is made according to a number of basic characteristics.

The first thing to look for when choosing pipes for welding is their color. This type of marking determines the quality of the product. So, for example, only black plastic pipes are suitable for use as a laying on the ground. This is due to the specific composition of the material from which they are made - black plastic pipes are most resistant to external factors (ultraviolet rays, a sharp change in temperature conditions, etc.), since they contain a component that prevents the destruction of plastic.

As for other colors, then they are most suitable for installation inside various premises or for laying under a thick layer of soil. And, accordingly, they are suitable for manual welding.

Several types of pipes by functional purpose

  • For hot water - they can withstand up to forty-five degrees, they are marked with a special blue strip;
  • For cold water - they are able to withstand temperatures up to eighty-five degrees, are marked with bright red flat;
  • Universal - can withstand very high and very low temperatures, as a rule, they are marked simultaneously with two stripes of blue and red.

Also models are marked depending on the main operational parameters of the material from which the products are made.

Having an idea of the types of products and their operational features, you can safely proceed to prepare toolsrequired for further welding.

Materials and tools required for welding

Before starting the welding process, first you need to prepare all the necessary tools... After all, the lack of the necessary equipment can significantly complicate the welding process or make it of poor quality.

All parts and tools that are needed for the upcoming welding must be thoroughly cleaned of dirt and grease, and the joints must be well treated with an alcohol solution, especially in the joint areas.

Welding stages

DIY plastic pipe welding includes several main stages. There is nothing complicated in this process, the main thing is to prepare all the necessary materials and tools in advance, well, and then it is enough to follow simple instructions.

If you do everything right, then the welding process will not cause much trouble, and the work done with your own hands will only bring pleasure.

Before starting welding, there are a few important tips to take note of.

If we take into account all the above rules, then the connection of pipes by welding will be of the highest quality and operational.

When working with any kind of pipe products, there is inevitably a need for connections between them. Plastic polyvinyl chloride pipes are no exception, one of the main methods of connection between which is the welding process.

Welding PVC pipes is not a particularly difficult matter, however, in order for the connection to be reliable and durable, it must be carried out in accordance with the instructions and recommendations of qualified specialists.

Varieties of welding methods for PVC pipes

There are several different options for welding PVC pipes, the features of which should be familiarized with before welding PVC pipes:

  • "cold welding;
  • butt welding;
  • socket welding;
  • electrofusion welding.

"Cold welding

This method of joining PVC pipes is extremely easy to implement. The term "welding" is applied to it rather conditionally: in fact, it is a socket glue joint. For its implementation, special types of glue for plastic materials are used. Regardless of the brand of such an adhesive, it always contains a base of polyvinyl chloride itself, dissolved in cyclohexanone, tetrahydrofuran and methyl ethyl ketone (read: ""). When the glue dries, the solvents evaporate, after which the polymer structures of the PVC material of the pipes and the glue are intertwined. This leads to the formation of a strong complex with a solid structure.

Various additives are also used to achieve maximum bonding performance. Their use makes it possible to adjust the viscosity of the adhesive mixture and the hardening time of the joint.

Usually, cold welding of PVC pipes can be carried out at temperatures of +5 - +35 ˚С, however, there are frost-resistant types of glue that allow installation even at -17 ˚С. In summer, manipulations should be performed as quickly as possible so that the glue does not dry out ahead of time.

Stages of work performed:

  1. A section of the pipe is cut to the required length.
  2. The chamfer is removed at an angle of 15˚.
  3. The connected pipe sections are thoroughly cleaned of any dirt and dust.
  4. The adhesive is evenly applied with a brush to the mating surfaces.
  5. The pipe is quickly inserted into the socket and rotated 90˚ to ensure even more even distribution of the adhesive.
  6. The connected elements are fixed for about half a minute, held motionless by hands.

All manipulations after applying the glue should take no more than one minute in total, since the glue dries up in about this time. However, for the complete formation of a reliable monolithic connection it takes from several hours to 1-2 days. The higher the planned operating pressure in the pipeline and the lower the ambient temperature, the longer the waiting time should be, after which the plastic pipeline can be considered ready for operation.

Butt welding

This is one of the most popular methods of connection between polymer pipes, but for PVC pipes this method is used less often than for products made of other polymers. This is due to the fact that the time allotted for the welding process in the case of plastic pipes is very limited and is calculated literally in seconds. In order to have time to do everything right in such a short period, considerable skill in work is required, which not everyone can boast of.

To carry out butt welding, a special manual welding machine for PVC pipes and nozzles for it is required. The pipes themselves, before joining, are cut with special scissors, which must have good sharpness (otherwise, cutting leads to deformations of the walls of the products).

Stages of butt welding:

  1. The pipes are cut into pieces of the required length.
  2. The ends of the pipes are cleaned of dirt and grease.
  3. Marks are applied to the pipes and they are faceted with chamfering.
  4. The connected sections of the products put on the welding machine are heated to the required temperature (for polyvinyl chloride products it is +250 ˚С).
  5. The products to be welded quickly join together.
  6. The resulting structure is cooled, and after a short time is ready for use.

Socket welding

The method of socket welding is one of the most popular when joining PVC pipes. Accordingly, information on how to weld PVC pipes in this way is of considerable interest.

The use of socket welding involves connecting pipe products to each other by means of fittings: couplings, tees, adapters, etc. The great advantage of the method is its simplicity. At the same time, a certain high cost of equipment can be considered a certain disadvantage that prevents the even greater use of socket welding.

In general, the working process boils down to the fact that the ends of the pipe and couplings, being inserted into the welding device, are heated to the required temperature. After that, upon reaching the required plasticity, the products are removed from the device, and the pipe is inserted into the hole of the coupling, holding until hardened to form a monolithic joint. Then, in exactly the same way, the other pipe to be joined is welded from the opposite side.

As you can see, the process of such welding is generally quite simple, however, to achieve structural strength, certain rules must be observed:

  • Start and end the heating of the pipe and coupling at the same time.
  • The pipe and sleeve must be fully pushed onto the heating parts.
  • Upon completion of heating, the pipe and coupling are quickly removed from the device, after which they are connected so as to close the previously made mark of the connection depth with a flow of polyvinyl chloride.
  • Even the slightest angular deviations should be avoided and the products should be positioned along the same axis during welding.

The method of coupling welding of PVC pipes is very convenient, reliable and simple, however, due to the fact that the equipment for its implementation is not available in every house, for the most part it is used by craftsmen when arranging pipeline lines in residential buildings.

Electrofusion welding

This method of connection between PVC pipes is the most high-tech. For its implementation, special plastic couplings are used, equipped with built-in spirals. The spirals act as heaters when voltage is applied to them, melting plastic around.

The advantages of such welding are speed, simplicity and reliability of installation. At the same time, its disadvantages are some high cost of equipment and parts used, as well as the fact that the method is inapplicable for products with a wall thickness of more than 4 millimeters.

Before starting the welding process, thoroughly clean the pipe ends to be joined and the areas adjacent to them from dirt, dust, moisture and grease. Then the ends are chamfered, after which the pipes from both sides are inserted into the fitting. Further, voltage is applied to the spirals of the coupling, which, while heating up, melt the plastic of the coupling and pipes. In addition to the spirals, the clutch is also supplied with a special barcode with embedded technical information, due to which, when the desired temperature is reached, the power supply is automatically turned off.

It is undesirable to carry out the electrofusion process at an ambient temperature below +5 ˚С, since this is accompanied by an increase in the heating time and a shortening of the cooling period. The result is the fragility of the resulting compound and its poor quality.

What you need to know when welding plastic pipes

  • One of the common mistakes in some types of welding of PVC pipes (butt, socket) is the introduction of the pipe not to the stop, which leads to the formation of gaps in the joint and a violation of its tightness. To avoid this, more force should be applied when joining the pipes to be connected.
  • At the same time, excessive force is also undesirable and can lead to deformation of the pipes with a violation of the quality of the connection. This, too, should be avoided, and force should be applied in accordance with the measure.
  • For a "cold" connection, it is recommended to purchase high-quality brands of glue from well-known manufacturers, for example Griffon (Holland), CH (Spain), Gebsoplast (France), Cepex (Spain), Tangit (Germany) and others. Despite the higher price of such products, the reliability and quality of the connection are sufficient compensation for the costs incurred.
  • Different types of welding equipment may have some differences, and therefore the instructions for their operation should be carefully studied in advance, and then carefully followed.
  • Work must be carried out scrupulously and responsibly, without neglecting such nuances as the accuracy of marking, compliance with the speed of work, strict arrangement of products along one axis, etc. Only in this case, you can get a reliable and high-quality connection that can serve flawlessly for many years without problems and complaints.
