Test which house is right for you. Quick test: how to find "your" interior style

Minimalism

What is the essence: minimalism is not a boring interior, but laconic, thoughtful and functional. The decoration is dominated by natural materials: wood, stone, metal, glass, leather. As for color, you can play with contrasts and enjoy monochrome. The main thing is to remember that a couple of bright elements will be enough (pillows, panels on the wall, lamps).

Required elements: painting as a color spot, plants in white pots, low sofa, glass coffee table, huge plasma,.

Outstanding representatives: industrial designers - Dieter Rams, Naoto Fukasawa, Peter Zumthor, Jonathan Ive. Thanks to them, minimalism has penetrated into a wide variety of areas of life: from mobile phones to interiors.

Eco style

What is the essence: in caring for nature. Eco-style implies not only the use of environmentally friendly materials, but also their competent disposal and reuse. Popular materials include stone, wood, natural fabrics, glass, and clay. Among the shades - walnut, milky, beige, combined with natural colors of grass, soil, water or wood.

Required elements: wooden sink and armchair, cotton cushions, wicker accessories, raw wood furniture, masonry wall.

Outstanding representatives: in an eco-friendly way, it makes sense to talk about brands and not about key figures. The most popular are the Polish company UWD (Unique Wood Design) and the Italian company Riva 1920.

Scandinavia

What is the essence: a cozy and light interior implies a light finish, a lot of white and bright color accents. The furniture is simple, no frills, but the most functional. The hallmark of the style is huge windows without curtains and a lot of natural light.

Required elements: framed family photos, glass vases, a large mirror in a light metal frame, a simple white sofa, solid wood floor.

Outstanding representatives: first of all, the Swedish designer Stig Lindbergh, known for the ceramic tableware series (Bersa, Spisa Ribb and Terma). Among the brands, the undoubted leader is IKEA, whose catalogs have become guidelines for creating a Scandinavian style in the interior.

Pop Art

What is the essence: a distinctive feature - rainbow colors, catchy shapes. Ordinary paintings, photographs, things are given a new meaning, and they become works of art. There is not much furniture, but it is colorful and in the most inconceivable forms. Accessories are distinguished by an unusual design: glowing dishes, a pink figurine, a cartoon lamp and other eccentric ideas.

Required elements: pink leather armchair, full-length Roy Lichtenstein poster, oddly shaped coffee table, black wallpaper.

Outstanding representatives: artists Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist and Andy Warhol. Reproductions of their canvases (or the canvases themselves!) Are important elements of the interior in the style of pop art.

Classic

What is the essence: the main features of the style are clear geometric shapes, restrained decor and monochromatic walls. As a decoration, stucco molding is used, instead of doors - arches, expensive materials and solid wooden furniture prevail. The colors are predominantly light, but it is possible to combine dark wood furniture with bright upholstery.

Required elements: a mirror in a gilded frame, a canopy bed, a crystal chandelier, heavy curtains with a lambrequin, decorative stucco molding on the wall.

Outstanding representatives: large Italian firms - Savio Firmino, Angelo Cappellini, Andrea Fanfani.

Eclecticism

What is the essence: in a mixture of different styles. Eclecticism is suitable if you like extraordinary solutions or if you cannot decide on the style. It uses a variety of colors and textures, overlapping patterns, prints and ornaments. There are no restrictions on the color scheme. As for the furniture, here you can easily combine a classic sofa and a high-tech ottoman. The main thing is to correctly beat the design.

Required elements: vintage armchair, curtains to match the upholstery of the sofa, printed carpet, silk wallpaper, colored ottoman, a couple of abstract paintings.

Outstanding representatives: one of the key figures in this style is designer Martin Lawrence-Bullard. His clients include many Hollywood stars.

You are a big lover of comfort and sometimes even not against some luxury. Your ideal interior style is traditional classics, perhaps neo-baroque (but these are subtleties) or modern classics. The décor of your interiors should ideally be elegant, and the textures and finishes presentable. At the same time, the general appearance of your home should give the impression of a restrained and well-designed project. It is in the classic atmosphere that you will be most comfortable to live and relax.

You are sociable, open-minded and appreciate practicality. Your designer should know that the best solution for a future project is to work in the key of a universal scandi. In these interiors, the light range, even in cold colors, does not look aloof due to the cozy decor and the abundance of greenery. At the same time, the functions in such an apartment are presented as “bare” as possible - no unnecessary routes or secret boxes - everything is in plain sight and in the nearest availability. And if you longingly think that scandi is only about white walls and light wood, then we hasten to please you: in recent years, many new textures and prints have burst into this style. Don't forget to check it out!

You do not like excesses around you - from the rhythm of life to the decoration of an apartment. Of all the interior styles, minimalism will suit you. Unobtrusive, discreet and completely versatile, it will make you feel comfortable, orderly and unrestrained at home. Simple configurations of forms in furniture and decor do not overload the overall picture, and if one day you want to introduce more colors into the interior, they will easily “get along” with such a universal stylistic base.

Rough textures, a thirst for experimentation and freedom - your ideal choice - a loft! It is this style of interior that will require a minimum of some stereotypical claims and standards from you. The structure of bare brick on the walls, pallet furniture, hand-made decor - asceticism at its best. In addition, it will not be particularly difficult to find a designer for such a project - for the past few years, the loft and the already mentioned scandi have been dividing the primacy among the most popular interior styles.

Coziness, simplicity and special home romance are the things you cannot imagine your home without. Depending on the subtleties of your preferences, the style of the interior of your dreams can vary from perky country to gentle Provence, but the atmosphere of the house and some special warmth is present in both cases. The designer can also tell you how to integrate modern design elements into such styles - this will give the project freshness and functionality, but you will be just as comfortable to be in it.
