Installation of an overhead kitchen sink. Overhead sink in the kitchen - finding out if this option is suitable for everyone

The furnishings in the bathroom should be stylish, combined with the overall interior of the room. Each element should provide convenience, comfort, this applies to the washbasin. This element is the main one, so you need to be especially careful about its arrangement. Installing a washbasin with a vanity unit in the bathroom will not take too much time, and this element looks very attractive. In addition, now there is a huge variety of pedestals in color, size, style, which will perfectly fit into the design of the room and fit any room size.

A washbasin with a cabinet has been selected, now you need to choose a suitable place in the bathroom for its installation. Be sure to consider the size, the product must fit exactly into its place. It would be nice to put it near the bathtub, this will ensure ease of use.

It is better to choose the area for the installation of pedestals before work begins on the wiring of communications and pipes.

  • measurements of the bathroom room are made, divided into sections;
  • think over where the location of the bathroom, shower cabin, sink should be;
  • be sure to consider the presence of shelves, drawers. They can become an obstacle to the supply of pipes and fittings for connecting water to the mixer. It is better to foresee this option earlier, to shift the shelves so that they do not interfere with the plumbing fixtures. You may need to trim it a little, but do it carefully, do not damage the structure of the furniture, do not spoil its appearance;
  • in cases where the sewage system comes out of the floor covering, and it is planned to install a curbstone in this area, then everything is simple in this case. In order for the product to fit into the place, not to disturb the sewer elements, its bottom must be cut. Necessarily after trimming the bottom, the edges are processed with a protective base.

How the installation works

The washbasin for the cabinets has been selected, the place has been prepared, and we proceed to the installation itself. Usually this piece of furniture is sold together with the necessary fasteners, connecting elements, and sometimes the kit includes the necessary tools for assembly and installation. There is a diagram or installation instructions available. But you hardly have to use a diagram or instruction, usually the design is so simple that you can install it yourself. And if you do not need to cut, file for plumbing, communications, then this will take a maximum of 1-2 hours.

Pay attention to the quality of the fittings

Mixer installation rules

Before you start installing the pedestals, you should install a mixer and a siphon:

  • the mixer should be accompanied by instructions with an installation diagram, with which this process will become much easier. The kit should include - several studs, two washers (made of rubber and moon-shaped), a round gasket for the bottom;
  • two hoses for hot and cold water must be screwed to the mixer. The choice of hoses should be approached especially carefully, rubber hoses have low strength and often break and leak. The best option would be products made of metal-plastic material. Do not tighten too much, otherwise the gaskets will be damaged and the connection will leak;

Hot and cold water connection

  • studs are fixed in small holes at the bottom of the mixer;
  • install the gasket and insert the mixer into the hole in the sink. And on the lower side, you need to put a moon washer on the studs, a rubber washer is placed on top of it;
  • the washers are secured with nuts. The nuts are installed on studs and tightened well so that the mixer stands firmly on the sink. Some mixers are secured with a large nut from the bottom for greater reliability;
  • after that, we proceed to install the siphon. First of all, we check all the details of the siphon, perhaps they have burrs. If present, they should be carefully cut off. Otherwise, after installation, gaps are formed at the joints, through which unpleasant odors will pass in the future;

Connecting the siphon to the drain hole

  • put a cover with holes on the drain hole, insert a long screw into the center;
  • a receiving-type branch pipe with a seal made of rubber material is placed under the drain hole;
  • fasten the cover plate and the nipple with a screw. We tighten the screw as much as possible so that the pipe fits snugly to the sink;
  • the rest is collected after assembling the pedestals, installing the sink. A tightening nut with a tapered gasket should be put on the branch pipe. We twist the upper part, fix the siphon cover.

It is not difficult to install a sink with a cabinet in the bathroom on your own, if you listen to some recommendations:

  • first of all, we start assembling the pedestals. Usually, instructions should be attached to them to make the work easier, but it is hardly useful. The process is fairly straightforward. The main thing is to make sure that the screws, fasteners are firmly fixed. After installing the bedside table under the sink, this will be difficult to accomplish;

Washbasin cabinet assembly diagram

  • as the curbstone will be assembled, we proceed to the arrangement of the sink. In its appearance and functions, it is no different from those that are sold separately, just the sink is made to fit the size of the bedside table and is used to complete it;
  • connect the siphon to the drain;

The siphon is installed by screwing it to the drain hole of the washbasin

  • we put the sink with the mixer already installed on it on the cabinet. Usually, metal corners are used to fasten these elements;
  • we move the washbasin and the cabinet closer to the place where it is planned to install these elements;

A sink with a siphon and a mixer is placed on a cabinet and pushed against the wall

  • bolt points should already be marked on the surface of the wall, on which the washbasin should then be fixed. The markup is done independently. For greater accuracy, it is better to bring the sink to the wall and measure the points precisely. Using a roulette wheel will still fail to achieve the required accuracy;

Marking on the wall for the future cabinet

  • we move the washbasin with the curbstone back and drill at the marked points;
  • after the holes are made, the bolts that come with the product should be inserted into them. Be sure to buy a product, check the availability of these elements, sometimes sellers simply forget to put them in. And so that you don't have to buy them separately, see their availability;
  • now you need to install the sink and the cabinet in place, screw everything with bolts;
  • we check how the sink and cabinet stand. If everything is stable, does not stagger, the product stands tightly to the wall surface, then everything is done correctly;

Sink cabinet installation process

  • at the end we connect the sewage system. The mixer hoses must be connected to hot and cold water pipes. The hoses are connected with a union nut and a rubber base gasket;
  • then we seal the holes, connections. Sealing must be done without fail, this will help to avoid unexpected leaks;
  • at the end, the siphon is connected to the sewer pipe. In order to seal all kinds of holes, you need to use a special rubber gasket or a corrugated cuff;

Installation of a sink on a cabinet - the final stage of work

  • it is important, before you start using the washbasin, it is better to check it for leaks, if they are not there, then you can safely start using it.

What to do if there are no mounting holes on the cabinet

Sometimes the products may not have holes for fixing to the wall. Basically, this problem is often found in Turkish-made pedestals. Some consumers believe that it is quite difficult to fix this product to the bathroom wall and try not to purchase structures.

But what to do when the product has already been purchased? Many people think that they can refuse and return to the seller. Yes, of course, this can be done, but not always. The product may not be accepted; many reasons will be found for this. And if it is damaged and has defects, then it will definitely not be accepted back. If, of course, you want to waste time and nerves, then you can try. As a result, it may be that they will make a replacement for a cabinet with holes. And if it does not work, then you can try to put the structure without holes.

It can be delivered in a simple way:

  • instead of bolts, ordinary silicone is used as a fastener;
  • due to the fact that the structure rests on the curbstone, it will firmly adhere to the silicone mixture;
  • it is important that the wall surface is strong, and its coating is made of high-quality tiles;
  • in this case, it is not necessary to drill the surface of the walls, leaving them strong and in good condition. And the appearance of the design will remain in perfect condition.

Fixing the sink to silicone

Installing the cabinet with silicone is suitable for those who do not want to spoil their bathroom wall covering, especially if it has low strength. In addition, this installation method is much faster than bolting and drilling.

Installing a washbasin with a vanity unit for a bathroom is a simple process that does not require much work and knowledge. Everything can be done on your own, without the help of professionals. The main thing is to choose a suitable design and correctly calculate the place for its installation. With this approach, you can get a comfortable, stylish, functional room.

Washing is a very important attribute in the kitchen. There are many types of these products, one of which is the overhead sink. Several methods can be used to secure it. In addition, you cannot do without special knowledge and tools.

The main feature of overhead sinks is considered to be their successful combination with various designs of the kitchen. The obvious advantages are the low cost and ease of installation of the sink.

As for the disadvantages, they include the small thickness and the space between the cabinet. The presented products can be used for a headset, which is composed of separate modules, and the sink is not a single part of the working area. This sink option should be installed in the corner of the room.

For the production of such a product, a copper alloy is used, which prevents washing from corrosion and exposure to food acids. The main advantages include:

Such washing is not devoid of disadvantages. These include the low level of sound insulation in contact with water. But such a disadvantage is possessed by low-quality stainless sinks, for which a thin steel sheet is used. To eliminate such a problem, it is necessary to buy a sink with a courtyard bowl so that its depth is sufficient.

Composite sinks

In the role of material for the production of such a variant of sinks, it is filler. It is bonded with a polymer binder. Granite chips, fiberglass, quartz sand can be used as a filler. Thanks to the filler and the dye used, it is possible to achieve the desired shade of the overhead sink.

The advantages of this type of sink include the lack of absorbency of food coloring, in contrast to enameled surfaces. Granite sinks are not afraid of the harmful effects of aggressive substances. No scratches occur on their surface, therefore, the appearance will be observed for a long time. If we talk about the disadvantages, then composite products are not cheap, however, their service life is higher.

Enameled

This version of an overhead sink is the last century. For their production, metal is used, treated with a layer of white enamel. This option is considered the most impractical, since cracks appear on the surface very quickly. Enamel sinks cannot withstand food coloring, and as a result, their surfaces are often yellow. It is necessary to use such products when the kitchen set is made in light colors.

Installation process

In order for the sink installation process to go quickly and efficiently, you need to choose the right sealant. It will allow you to reliably and permanently protect the sink from prolonged exposure to moisture. In addition, the following tools will be required to successfully install the sink overlay.

  • electric drill;
  • set of screwdrivers;
  • pliers;
  • silicone sealant;
  • ruler;
  • drills for wood;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • masking tape;
  • l-shaped fasteners.

The video tells how to install a stainless steel sink on a cabinet:

Countertop installation

For these purposes, it is important to adhere to the following action plan

  1. It is necessary to depict the contours of the future sink on the countertop. For this spruce, an ordinary simple pencil will suit you. Be sure to take care of the indentation from the front and rear edges of at least 5 cm. After that, you can take measurements where the bowl will be concentrated. Based on these measurements, it is worth drawing the outline of the hole for the sink.
  2. the line along which the cutting will take place should go out from the sides of the bowl by 1 cm. make a hole at one point of the contour. If the shape of the bowl is in the form of a rectangle, then the hole should be made at the corners of the indicated contour.
  3. Attach masking tape from the outside of the contours. Thanks to him, it is possible to protect the tabletop from damage that a jigsaw can inflict on it. In the process of cutting the opening, it is necessary to screw self-tapping screws into the cut to a small depth. Thus, it is possible to protect the inside from falling. The element to be removed should also be secured from below with a support.
  4. Process the ends of the tabletop along the saw cut with silicone sealant. Thus, you will protect your products from moisture. Sealant application is also possible along the drawn perimeter.
  5. Insert the sink and the installed mixer and siphon into the prepared opening. Fasten it to the countertop with clamps. These fasteners are included in the plumbing fixture complex. All that remains for you is to connect the mixer to the water supply and drain the product through the sewer siphon.

A set of kitchen furniture includes many components for different purposes. The central element of the headset in this room is the countertop. This is not just the main work surface, but also a kind of frame with which kitchen communications, shelves, cabinets and, of course, a sink interact. And if the connection of communication is carried out according to standard schemes with the given parameters of the holes, then the integration of functional elements into the very niche of the platform requires more serious preparation. The operations of cutting and performing fasteners are only part of the work steps, without which the worktop cannot do. It is not easy to implement these and other tasks on your own, but it is possible if you follow the instructions.

Preparation for installation activities

Before starting work, you should prepare consumables, tools and the sink itself. By this time, the worktop must be installed, and the material of its manufacture must correspond to the sink. The fact is that different tabletops, depending on the size and material of manufacture, have different bearing capacity. Slim models based on composites can only withstand stainless sinks. If you plan to install a stone sink in the countertop, then you should focus on the high load. In this case, either the tabletop should be made, at least, of artificial stone, or additional holders are provided in the cabinet itself under the platform.

As for the tools, you should prepare a set of measuring instruments, an electric drill or jigsaw, screwdrivers, an adjustable wrench, a construction knife and a sealant gun. What consumables are needed depends on the installation method, which will be discussed below. The universal list includes screws and sealant. In addition, do not forget about the plumbing, the organization of which involves the use of a siphon, a water supply hose and a mixer.

Markup rules

This is a crucial stage during which the configuration of the location of the sink in accordance with its dimensions will be determined. Of course, one should start from the parameters of a particular sink, but there are also standard placement rules, which should not contradict the chosen installation scheme. First of all, the cutting edge, that is, the line of contact between the sink and the countertop, should be at least 50 mm from the edge. This value should be maintained regardless of the method by which the further installation of the sink into the worktop will be carried out.

You can independently put the sink on both glue and hardware, but in both cases, the load on the edge must be minimized. The only exception is the area with the rear end, where the distance from the edge to the cut can be 25 mm, since in this part the pressure on the structure will be less. Also, when marking, you should remember about the communications that will be connected to the central point of the sink - they must fit freely so that both water supply and drainage to the sewer are provided.

Cutting countertops according to sink dimensions

After marking, the lines of the future cut should be ready. To perform cutting, two tools are used - a jigsaw and an electric drill. First, the drill comes into play, which will create niches for sawing. If installation is planned, it is necessary to make holes with a depth of at least 10 mm in each corner. Further, from each hole with a jigsaw, you need to make a connection with another nearby point along a straight cutting line.

A different approach should be taken when installing a round sink in a countertop. It is more difficult to cope with this task on your own, since you will need to perform not a straight, but a curved cut. But work should also start by creating a hole with an electric drill. It will be one. To facilitate cutting, it is advisable to initially have a jigsaw designed for curly cutting. Then you should carefully guide the saw strictly along the marked circular line. It is important to avoid even small deviations and to cut smoothly and without jerks.

Installing a sink with glue

The glue method of fixing the sink is not the most reliable, but practical and, provided a tight fit, can be quite durable. Before applying the glue, it is necessary to process the edges of the tabletop at the cutting points. To do this, use fine abrasive materials in or fine-grained grinding wheel. Next, a polyethylene-based sealant is applied. It is usually supplied with the product.

It is also worth noting that the installation of a stainless steel sink into the countertop is carried out with the glue method, but not stone models, the shift of which can lead to a violation of fixation. The places of future contact of the sink itself and the sanded edges of the countertop are preliminarily coated with glue. It will be possible to use the sink for its intended purpose only after the composition has completely crystallized - you need to wait about 24 hours.

Installing the sink with fixing materials

Mechanical fixation will provide greater reliability, but there is one caveat. The adhesive composition increases the tightness of the convergence points of the sink and countertop. In the case of screws, preventing the risk of flooding at the joints will allow the use of waterproof sealants in a larger volume than in the case of adhesive installation. Usually, the fastening material is supplied in the kit, so you don't have to look for special hardware.

The "cross" installation of the sink in the countertop is considered optimal. You can independently make such an installation either with a screwdriver or manually with a screwdriver. The fixing strips are placed diagonally, after which the complete screws are integrated into the technical holes.

Mortise and surface-mounted sinks - installation differences

Assumes the implementation of individualized installation, including with figured cutting of the table top. Overhead models also rarely do without pre-processing the platform, but in this case, the markings for future cutting are made along straight lines. As a rule, a square or rectangular shape is prepared, and cutouts of this format are made in special panels in the factory.

What is the advantage of installing a flush sink in a worktop? It is more difficult to independently realize figured cutting for such a sink, but in the end it will provide a higher degree of reliability, not to mention aesthetic appeal.

The nuances of installing ceramic sinks

Both ceramic and stone sinks are made using the insert technique only. For such models, a more durable supporting structure with high-quality fixation is required. It is recommended to fasten it using a combined method - that is, using glue and mechanical fasteners. This will ensure the optimal installation of the ceramic sink in the worktop.

You can also prepare the internal holding base yourself. This is done using wooden planks that secure the niche of the heavy countertop under the curbstone. You can fasten such strips with nails, but the preferable option involves the use of self-tapping screws or screws.

Connecting the sink to communications

First, the cold and hot water supply hoses are connected. On the one hand - to the mixer, on the other - to the water supply channel. The place where the mixer is integrated must contain a rubber seal. Next, a siphon outlet is introduced into the sink - it is advisable to use a curved model, since the bottle quickly clogs up. A sewer pipe is connected to the siphon.

If the installation was carried out in a countertop, then the communication liner should be used as hard as possible. For example, the nozzle may have a reinforced corner construction. At the final stage, it is necessary to check all connections and, if necessary, provide the joints with sealing collars.

During the installation process, regardless of the installation method, a sealant will be used. It is not worth pitying him, since the joints must be well sealed. However, excess outside the gaps must be removed before it is dry.

Another nuance concerns working with stone and ceramic structures. This is the most labor-intensive countertop sink installation. It is physically difficult to carry out such an installation in the kitchen on your own, so it is better to work with a partner. And one more point concerns the choice of the method of tightening the screws. If possible, it is better to perform such operations without a power tool and by hand, since excessive force can lead to deformation of the materials of the countertop and the sink itself.

Conclusion

How ergonomic the sink integrated into the worktop will be depends on many factors. The most important will be the placement of the object in the overall configuration of the headset. The durability and reliability of the arranged structure will be determined precisely by the installation of the sink in the countertop. Self-assembly can guarantee the success of future operation only if the above recommendations are followed, as well as with the high quality of the consumables used.

Particular attention should be paid in this context to the sealant and the adhesive. It is advisable to choose both products from the lines of large manufacturers recommended for use in the kitchen in harsh operating conditions.

If even 20 years ago, freestanding sinks were in demand among apartment owners, overhead models are becoming increasingly popular for the kitchen today. The advantage of the device is its convenience and easy installation, because the equipment can be mounted by hand.

All you need to do is follow a step-by-step guide from specialists, which provides for a special fixation technology.

Advantages and disadvantages of a countertop sink

Those who have had the opportunity to compare different samples of kitchen sinks note both the obvious advantages of the overhead product and the disadvantages. Among the advantages are the following:

  • quick and easy installation;
  • low cost of a stainless steel sink for a curbstone;
  • excellent performance (the device can be easily washed with the help of detergents);
  • multifunctionality - one part of an overhead sink made of stainless steel is most often a sink where the dishes are cleaned, the other side is used for drying (thus, overhead sinks on the curbstone allow you to significantly expand the working space without gripping the tabletop);
  • variety in sizes - you can choose the option you like for a cabinet of any size.

The disadvantages of stainless steel sinks, which are installed on the cabinet, depend on the features of the shape of the countertops and the specifics of the use of the sink:

  1. Certain difficulties can arise if the headset has a non-standard shape and size. However, this drawback is already a thing of the past, because the overhead devices are made based on the standards produced by the pedestals. If there is an unusual countertop, it means that there will also be a stainless steel sink, the only caveat is that perhaps a rare model is more expensive than similar counterparts.
  2. Sheet steel is not particularly durable, although experts see this as a significant plus - the weight of the structure is reduced.
  3. You can fix the stainless steel sink by applying it to the cabinet, so don't expect a tight fit. Some housewives are annoyed by this factor so much that they refuse to further use the kitchen sink in this format.
  4. Striking steel, the jet coming out of the tap provokes a loud sound, it can interfere with some.

So, it makes sense to install an overhead sink if you want to purchase a convenient, lightweight and useful thing for the kitchen. Overhead sinks made of stainless steel do not have elegance or special aesthetic properties, so it will be superfluous to use them to match the unusual design of the room.

How to prepare a sink for installation

Unpretentiousness in care and ease of installation win the hearts of many who want to fix a stainless steel sink without outside help. At the initial stage, a kitchen set should be prepared, which among specialists is called an underframe.

There is no back wall in the cabinet. As for the top cover, it may be present, but it all depends on the model of the device. There is no need to buy additional fasteners and small elements - the accessories are included in the set along with the sink.

Required tools

Before proceeding with the assembly, collect the entire list of tools, without which it is impossible to install the sink:

  • screwdrivers of different sizes with unequal tips; high-quality screwdrivers will not interfere;
  • the sealant will provide the best adhesion of the steel structure to the tabletop;
  • a hacksaw or jigsaw will help cut a niche under the sink bowl;
  • the perforator forms holes for the subsequent arrangement of the mountings;
  • self-tapping screws, screws and other fasteners.

How to attach a sink to a cabinet

To attach the sink to the cabinet, follow the step-by-step instructions:

  1. Turn the stainless steel sink upside down and place on top of the countertop. Mark the contours of the fixture with a pencil.
  2. Using the resulting lines, make several holes and cut out the part with a hacksaw.
  3. Carefully detach the part of the kitchen cabinet from the main one. To avoid injury, properly process the edges of the tabletop with a grinder, sandpaper.
  4. Attach the fasteners to the inside of the underframe, pointing upwards.
  5. Spread the sealant in an even layer, it should cover the edges of the cabinet cutout and the edges of the kitchen sink. To secure the sink with a snug fit, carefully fit the sealing strip.
  6. Place a stainless steel sink on the cabinet in the hole obtained, and then use a screwdriver to fix the fasteners.
  7. Another important point - if you plan to equip the device along with a siphon and a mixer, these parts should be dealt with even before fixing the sink. Do not forget to connect the siphon to the sewer line.
  8. Screw on the kitchen cabinet door and start using the washer.

According to the principle of placement on the underframe, sinks are divided into overhead and built-in sinks. The surface of the sink panel can be located above the plane of the worktop, be flush with it, or be below the level of the worktable. In any case, a bowl under the mixer should be installed between the areas of the headset for placing dirty dishes and for cooking and serving dishes.

The curbstone on which the overhead sink is attached is often a separate element of the kitchen interior. Recessed and integrated washbasins are installed in the solid surface of the work table of the floor units of the headsets.

Installing the wash plate cover

Sink connection diagram: 1 - mixer branch pipe; 2 - gasket; 3 - fixing nut; 4 - flexible hose; 5 - pipeline supply; 6 - overflow hole; 7 - combined drain; 8 - drain device; 9 - compression ring; 10 - compression sleeve; 11 - double-turn siphon; 12 - drain pipe.

Overhead sink types are mounted easier than others. This is the traditional way of installing dishwashing equipment. In the interior of the kitchen, it is a free-standing cabinet with a sink, complemented by a panel for folding the washed kitchen items.

On the pedestal, the panel is fixed using fasteners in the form of brackets or pushed onto the base into the grooves of the pedestal using special slide rails.

The sink kit may include an adhesive tubular seal inserted into a groove on the panel. The joint between the cabinet and the washing panel is coated with silicone sealant to protect against moisture penetration.

Rubber seals do not adhere tightly to mating surfaces and have a short service life. More often they are replaced with a moisture-resistant sealant, it tightly fills the gaps and retains its properties for a long time when it dries.

The underframe usually does not have additional internal elements, this opens up access for repairing supply pipelines, cleaning the siphon and sewer pipes. Sometimes, support bars are attached under the countertop sink to strengthen the structure.

Before attaching the sink to the countertop, a mixer, water supply hoses and a siphon are mounted. The overhead sink is fixed with L-shaped fasteners with an oblique slot. 4-5 such elements are installed. Self-tapping screws are screwed into the places for fastening marked on the inner surface of the pedestal. They should protrude 5 mm from the walls of the underframe. It is better to screw in the self-tapping screws with a screwdriver; when using a screwdriver, the tabletop can be damaged.

When installing, the grooves of the fasteners are pushed onto the self-tapping screws and the sink is displaced until its stable fixation of the surface sink. Then the screws are tightened and the protruding sealant is removed.

Installation of a flush sink

To avoid splashing water when washing dishes, choose a deep sink and set a low tap.

The sink is installed in a pre-cut hole in a solid worktop. Moreover, the sink itself can be made of various materials: stainless alloy, faience, porcelain, etc.

Some tools and additional materials are required to insert the washing container:

  • jigsaw with a fine-toothed file;
  • drill, screwdriver;
  • pencil, ruler, tape measure;
  • self-tapping screws, silicone sealant;
  • wrenches for installing the mixer;
  • sandpaper, construction knife.

The contours of the panel to be installed are marked with a pencil, turning it over and laying it on the tabletop. The indents from the front and rear edges of the latter are taken at least 5 cm. Then, the position of the bowl is measured relative to the edges of the panel. The contour of the hole cut out for the sink looms along them.

The bowl can be of various shapes, so it is necessary to transfer its geometric parameters to the surface of the countertop as accurately as possible. Inset sink manufacturers often include a template with the kit, by which the shape of the hole is drawn.

The cutting line should extend outward from the sides of the bowl by about 1 cm.A hole is drilled at one of the points on the contour to insert the jigsaw blade. For a rectangular bowl, holes are drilled at the corners of the outlined contour.

Masking tape is glued to the outside of the contour. It will protect the worktop surface from damage by the jigsaw foot when cutting. On a removable tabletop, the material is sawn with a jigsaw from the front side, so less damage to the surface lining. In the process of cutting the opening into the cut, self-tapping screws are screwed to a small depth so that the inner part does not fall out during operation. The sector to be removed can also be fixed from below with a support.

The ends of the tabletop along the saw cut are covered with silicone sealant to protect the material from moisture penetration. The sealant is also applied under the edges of the panel along the drawn contour. A sink with a built-in mixer and a siphon is inserted into the prepared opening and fixed to the tabletop with the clamps included in the plumbing kit. It remains to connect the mixer to the water supply and drain the sink through a siphon to the sewer.
