God carols. God Kolyada - God of the Winter Sun

- God of the Young Sun, God of the Winter Sun, born on the night of the winter solstice, on the longest night of the year. There are several versions of the origin of the name of God Kolyada:

  • Etymological Dictionary Slavic languages determines the origin of the word "Kolyada" from the name of the ceremony associated with the beginning of the year;
  • Origin from the word "koled", which means "walking around", or from the word "koleda", i.e. “Circular food” (version by Dmitry Shchepkin);
  • Pyotr Bessonov believes that the name Kolyada comes from the word “log” and is associated with the tradition of burning a stump during the celebration of Kolyada;
  • According to Nikolai Kostomarov, "Kolyada" comes from "Kolo", which means a circle.

The Slavs worship God Kolyada as the God of the Magi, who brought wisdom, the embodiment of the Highest God, God who guides people along the path of Rule. His arrival is associated not only with the light of the sun, which begins to arrive after the Winter Solstice, but also the light of wisdom and knowledge.

According to Slavic mythology, God Kolyada was born by Maya-Zlatogorka, the first wife of Dazhdbog. Maya-Zlatogorka left for Nav, not fulfilling her destiny, not having given birth to a child who will become a new incarnation of the Highest God. Then the Creator Rod asked Makosh to change the fate of Zlatogorka, Viy gave permission to return her soul to the world of Revelation for a while, and Veles brought Dazhdbog a ring that could turn back time. So together the Gods settled everything so that Kolyada, the God of the Young Sun, could be born.

Maya-Zlatogorka Gods hid in the Pinega caves so that the forces of Chaos would not prevent her from giving birth to the God of the Young Sun. Helped Zlatogorka Alive, Goddess of Summer. In due time, Zlatogorka gave birth to two children: Kolyada, the God of the Winter Sun and Avsen, the God of the Autumn Sun. So it has been since then that they follow each other everywhere.

When it was time for Maya-Zlatogorka to go to Nav again, her children Kolyada and Avsen were handed over to Khors, the God of the Solar Disc. So Khors, together with his wife Zarya-Zaryanitsa, raised two young solar Gods.

Legends and myths about the Slavic God Kolyada

Slavic God Kolyada was not born in vain on the longest night. Slavic myths they say that the Gods decided to turn back time so that Kolyada could be born, because they were afraid that people would turn from the path of Rule. Even the Dark Gods helped the birth of Kolyada, because the task of the Navi world is to separate Reality and Rule from Chaos, which seeks to take over the world.

Kolyada Magi is especially revered. According to legend, the Young God Kolyada gathered 60 wise men from different nations and passed on to them the knowledge of how to follow the path of the Rule. Kolyada, on the other hand, taught people how to calculate time, thanks to which they were able to look a little further into the future, stopped living in one day and began to think about the results of their actions in the distant future.

An excerpt characterizing Kolyada (mythology)

- Who is this? Boris asked.
- This is one of the most wonderful, but the most unpleasant people to me. This is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Adam Czartorizhsky.
“These people,” said Bolkonsky with a sigh, which he could not suppress, while they were leaving the palace, “these are the people who decide the fate of peoples.
The next day, the troops set out on a campaign, and Boris did not have time until Austerlitz battle to visit neither Bolkonsky nor Dolgorukov and stayed for a while in the Izmailovsky regiment.

At the dawn of the 16th, Denisov's squadron, in which Nikolai Rostov served and who was in the detachment of Prince Bagration, moved from an overnight stay to business, as they said, and, having passed about a mile behind the other columns, was stopped on the high road. Rostov saw how the Cossacks, the 1st and 2nd squadrons of hussars, infantry battalions with artillery passed by him, and generals Bagration and Dolgorukov with their adjutants passed by. All the fear that he, as before, experienced before the deed; all the inner struggle through which he overcame this fear; all his dreams about how he would distinguish himself in the hussar way in this matter were in vain. Their squadron was left in reserve, and Nikolai Rostov spent that day bored and dreary. At 9 o'clock in the morning, he heard firing ahead of him, cries of hurray, saw the wounded brought back (there were not many of them) and, finally, saw how in the middle of a hundred Cossacks led a whole detachment of French cavalrymen. Obviously, it was over, and it was obviously small, but happy. The soldiers and officers who were passing back spoke of the brilliant victory, the capture of the city of Vischau and the capture of an entire French squadron. The day was clear, sunny, after a strong night frost, and the cheerful brilliance of the autumn day coincided with the news of the victory, which was conveyed not only by the stories of those who participated in it, but also by the joyful expression on the faces of soldiers, officers, generals and adjutants who rode there and from there past Rostov ... The more painful the heart of Nicholas, who had in vain endured all the fear that preceded the battle, and had spent this cheerful day in inaction.
- Rostov, come here, let's drink from grief! - Denisov shouted, sitting down on the side of the road in front of a flask and a snack.
The officers gathered in a circle, eating and talking, near Denisov's cellar.
- Here's another one! - said one of the officers, pointing to a French prisoner of dragoon, who was being led on foot by two Cossacks.
One of them was leading a tall and beautiful French horse taken from a prisoner.

God (Kaleda, Kolodiy (Serb.), Calenda (lat.), Kalenda, Cadmus (Pers.)) - God who gave the Clans to those who migrated to the western lands: Calendar (Kolyada gift) and his Wise Vedas. God-Patron of the farmers and the Hall of the Crow in the Svarog Circle. "The sixth Kolyada, a hedgehog is a very nasty holiday byashe December ..."("On the idols of Vladimirov" PPJ) Kolo - oldest name sun, circle (Col is also one of popular names pole star) and Kolyada means round. From the kolo-circle such words as wheel, kolach, kolobok also originated. Kolyada - oldest god As, who personifies the revival of the winter sun and nature, in Persia (radiance) he was revered under the name Mithra (Mini - minimal, t-that, Ra - radiance).
Kolyada was also revered as God, who presented people with a new kalen-dar (Kolyada is a gift, and before that they used Chislobog's circle). Slavic Summer was divided into three seasons: Ousen, Winter, Spring. There were three months in each season. Now in Gregorian calendar 12 months. The ancient Slavs had 9 months (the highest prime number). Before falling to earth, all months had a duration of 40 days, and a year was 360 days. These events were reflected in the legends of ancient Egypt, where after the catastrophe the Antes clan (modern Ukrainians) moved from the deceased Antlantis: “Rhea (the Egyptian Goddess of the Earth) was the wife of Helios (the sun). God Chronos was in love with her, and she reciprocated his feelings. When Helios discovered the infidelity of his wife, he became angry and cursed her, saying that she would not be able to give birth to a child on any day of the current year. In her frustrated feelings, Rhea turned to God Thoth for help, who also loved her, and he came up with a trick with which this curse could be bypassed. He went to Selena, the Goddess of the Moon, and invited her to play a game with him, in which her light was at Selena's side. Selena put on the line the seventy part of her light from each of her appearances (at that time of Veils and the Month) and ... lost. This caused the strength of her light to diminish (the moon of Fata was destroyed). From the light won from the Goddess of the Moon, Thoth created five days, which he added to the existing year (the year then consisted, as we have seen, of three hundred and sixty days). And during these five days Rhea gave birth to five children. Osiris was born on the first day, Horis on the second, Set on the third day, Isis was born on the fourth day and Nemphis on the fifth ”(semantic translation). We also know that according to legend Ancient Egypt created nine White Gods (this is how the black population belonged to our ancestors), four of them came from the north, and five from the west from the earth, which plunged into the depths of the Great Waters (the earth gave birth to five children after the catastrophe). It also follows from the cited legend that before the events described in the earth year there were three hundred and sixty days (i.e. nine Slavic months of 40 days). As a result of a planetary catastrophe that happened more than 13 thousand years ago, Luna Fata was destroyed and its fragments fell to Midgard-Earth, and caused a change in the inclination of the planet's axis. This is a well-known fact. But the fallen fragments of the Fata Moon not only changed the tilt axis, but also changed the rotation speed of Midgard-Earth itself. The moon Fata at that time was the moon closest to Midgard-earth, with an orbital period of 13 days. Therefore, due to its closeness, it rather strongly influenced by its attraction to Midgard-Earth. After the destruction of Fata's moon, its gravity ceased to affect Midgard-earth. As a result of this, Midgard-Earth began to revolve around its axis a little faster and therefore the number of days in a year became three hundred and sixty-five, and changes had to be made to the Old Slavic calendar (five months from 9 became 41 days). The even months were 40 days long, the odd ones were 41. Every 16th summer was declared sacred, and all of its months were 41 days long. Thus, the summer duration was 365.25 days (real duration 365.2422).

Guardian of the Hall of the Raven in the Svarog Circle.

Kolyada, in addition to giving people the calendar, was considered a God who brings peace, he promotes life between peoples in full harmony. Therefore, Kolyada was honored not only on his usual day, December 21-25, but also whenever peace was established after wars with hostile tribes. To this day, the name of Kolyada is constantly heard in carols, which contain ancient magic spells: wishes for the well-being of the home and family, demanding gifts from the owners - otherwise ruin was predicted for the stingy. Sometimes the gifts themselves: cookies, loaf - were called Kolyada. All this was accompanied by mumming a horse, goat, cow, bear and other animals that embodied fertility.
God Kolyada is also the ancestor of many Slavic clans... Cossacks, for example, consider him their dad. In the tale published by Y. Mirolyubov (written off, like the "Velesova Kniga" from beech tablets), it directly points to the divine pedigree of the Cossacks: mother Dazh-land in the hour of the night thunderstorm, the Cossack people, and she gave them land from north to south, from sea to sea, from sunrise to sunset from the Danube to the Don. She commanded not to go from that land anywhere and not to give it to anyone, and gave his brother Khors to the watchman of the Cossacks that characteristic, so that they would take care of that land day and night. And so that they could be spoken and squeezed, then dropping all the skills and skills of their Cossacks from heaven, so that through the Cossack circle they would receive his blessing and know what their Cossack strength is. And they would have been the guardians of the world from their Old Man, and having seen the black hatred, boundless and untruthfulness, they would not have allowed it with their minds among their comrades, but they would have been fierce to the gate. And from the mother of the earth, thunderous love unrestrained for the people of their land would have, - such a red, already crimson, like a heavenly flare. "
And here is what was written about Kolyada by M. Forgotten in 1880 in the book “Russian people. His customs, rituals, traditions, superstitions and poetry. " “According to our famous historian Karamzin, Kolyada was the God of feasts and peace, and although by consonance it is possible to produce Kolyada from Roman kolenda and others, but the Roman holidays of this name were celebrated in all months. The meaning of the word Kolyada is different for different peoples: among the Vindians, Koleda is revered as a deity of festivities and some church rites, and koledowati (kolodovati) means children walking in different houses with songs and dances. Among the Chekhovs, Bulgarians and Serbs, Koleda, as well as wanoenj pisnieeky, means a Christmas song, chodit and po Kolede, (walking on a wheel) means to wish a Happy New Year and for this to receive gifts from everyone who can give what. For the Slovaks, Koledow means Blessing houses, which they have around the feast of the Three Kings, and koledowat means blessing houses ... Bosniaki, Kroaty and others Slavic peoples by Koleda they mean a gift for New Year... Finally, the word "sorcery" came from the word caroling. Kolyada is not mentioned by Nestor as a deity among the Gods of Vladimirov; but St. Demetrius Tuptala (Metropolitan of Rostov) in his Book of the Menaion mentions Kolyada as the sixth God, the God of festivities. Kolyada, in the southern and Western Russia, actually on the eve of the feast of the Nativity of Christ, which is known in the northeast of Russia under the name Avsenya or Tausen, and among the Lithuanians it is known as the evening of the blocks, or Blokkov, in which almost everywhere in the Slavic world and in Russian it is made from grain bread - porridge and from millet and kutia fruits, reminiscent of the Indian Perun-Tsongol and Ugadi, during which the lot was guessed by boiling millet in the coming year ...

KOLYADA (KALEDA)- the highest Slavic God, he controlled great changes in the life of all Clans of the Great Race.

PEDIGREE: Kolyada is the son of the god of light - and. Kolyada has a twin brother -.

They say that Kolyada had a wife - and they had a son -.

IN MAGIC: In the tradition of Kolyada - to help people in planning. This is what I am dedicated to.

Kolyada is a sacred Patron God for servicemen and warriors, for farmers and Priests. He is the Patron God and the Hall of the Crow in the Svarog Circle.

Often Kolyada was mentioned next to their names, as a sign of difference from the great creators - yes, small creators.

We know that Kryshen brought people a flame of fire, taught them to cook the sacred drink of the gods - suria, and even saved them from extinction. And what, as a creator, did Kolyada do?

It turns out that he was born 8500 years ago with a great mission - to save all of humanity from inevitable spiritual degeneration. Kolyada began to teach people. This was already the third divine revelation.
The first law of life that life is endless and omnipresent was given by Rod. The second law of life was brought by Veles - people move from Darkness to Light, following the Sun. Kolyada told people the third law.

THE BASIC GIFT OF KOLYADA TO PEOPLE. They say that in ancient times the god of the Slavs Kolyada gave people a calendar so that it would be more convenient for them to plan their seasonal work... And since then the Slavic god Kolyada has been the patron saint of plans and planning. In the traditions of Kalyada - to help with planning: whether to obtain wealth and profit, whether to obtain a harvest ... There is even a special one that is dedicated to God Kolyada and is not read.

Kolyada is just the opposite of God.

It symbolizes the dying of the old and the birth of the strong and the young. Heralds a seasonal turnaround and the arrival of light.

Kolyada was considered a God who brings peace to mankind, he promotes understanding between peoples and full harmony. Therefore, Kolyada was honored not only at his usual time - December 21-25, but also every time peace was established on earth after wars with hostile tribes.

KOLYADA - THE PATRON OF THE COSSACKS. God Kolyada is a strong god, he is the ancestor of many Slavic clans. The Cossacks consider him their daddy. In the tale published by Yu. Mirolyubov, it is directly pointed out to the clear divine pedigree of the Cossacks: “Once, in the old days, the heavenly father Kolyada (the son of Tarkh-Dazhdbog and Zlatogorka, the grandson of the god Perun) gave birth to his mother Dazh-earth in the hour of a night thunderstorm. Cossack, she gave them land from north to south, from sea to sea, from sunrise to sunset from the Danube to the Don. And they would have been the guardians of the world from their Old Man, and when they saw the black hatred, boundless and untruth, they would not have allowed it among their comrades by reason, but they would have been fierce to the gate. And from the mother of the earth, thunderous love unrestrained for the people of their land would have, - such a red, already crimson, like a heavenly flare. "

God Kolyada helps priests and soldiers. In many depictions, he is armed with a sword, with the tip of his blade pointing downward. It has deep meaning: God does not seek to fight, but wants to preserve divine wisdom and ancient traditions of ancestors. Therefore, he calls on everyone to follow the laws established by the gods.

Every year on the day of the winter solstice, our ancestors celebrated the menari - a day of change dedicated to to the Slavic god Kolyada... On this day, men dressed in animal skins and in this form walked around the yards of their fellow villagers. They were the first mummers, they were also called the Kolyada squad. These people sang songs in which their patron god was glorified, and danced around the sick. The ancient Slavs believed that such a ritual promotes early healing.

The history of the Menari holiday has mythological roots. In ancient times, people were freed from Pekla (the kingdom of death), who returned to their hearths and were joyfully greeted by their relatives. So that the evil spirits would not take those who returned, they began to pay off from it with various gifts. This is how the tradition began to celebrate the day of changes every year, which became widely known as Kolyada. People began to dress up in various monsters and walk around the courtyards. Not wanting to let them in, the owners paid off with cookies and sweets. The "monsters", unable to endure the joy and happiness of others, left generous people.

The Kolyada holiday was followed by a week for memories of ancestors. At this time, it was customary to remember people who never came from Pekla. Then Perun walked all over the Earth, destroying all evil spirits and cleansing the world from it.

According to ancient knowledge, Kolyada appeared in the 7th millennium BC. He was supposed to prevent the spiritual degeneration of mankind. For this, he gathered 60 priests from different tribes and began to teach them the almost forgotten Vedic knowledge. His divine revelation told people about the existence of the Great Kolo (Circle) of Svarog. He informed them of the existence of day and night and left a calendar. Even in its name one can easily trace the etymological connection with God - "Kolyady gift". That is, the main gift of God was his story to people about the laws of the movement of time, past, future and present.

The symbol of the god Kolyada- - was very far from modern way calculating time. It was based on a hexadecimal system, a year consisted of 9 months, a week of 9 days, and a day had 16 hours. At the same time, an hour in translation into our time would be an hour and a half, divided into fractions, moments and moments. The smallest time period was whitefish. From this root later the word "leap" appeared - that is, practically to teleport (there are legends that our ancestors had such an ability).
