Unique wellness treatment - beer bath. Beer baths in the village of Chodova Plana (Czech Republic) Review

by The Wild Mistress's Notes

Beer accelerates metabolism, promotes skin cell rejuvenation. Gerontologists believe that it slows down the aging of the body. Brewer's yeast is prescribed internally for various infectious diseases, diabetes mellitus, furunculosis, acne, other skin diseases.

The healing properties of alkaline Plzen beer are well known. Czechs are less likely to suffer from kidney stones.

There is not much protein in beer, but the content of minerals is significant: 1-2 grams per liter. The beer contains vitamins B1, B2, PP, which distinguishes it from other "empty" alcoholic beverages and allows us to classify high-quality, especially "live beer", if not to vitamin drinks, then to food products.

Beer has a lower calorie content than lemonades that have added sugar, not to mention milk.

Beer is made from malt, hops, yeast and water: none of these components are harmful to the body.

Malt (sprouted barley) is rich in carbohydrates, protein, enzymes, and mineral salts. The extractive substances of hops contained in beer have a calming, analgesic and even disinfecting effect.

Beer removes aluminum salts and carcinogenic substances from the body. Studies by Japanese scientists have shown that drinking quality beer in reasonable quantities can reduce the risk of cancer by 2-3 times.

Beer steam has the most beneficial effect on skin condition. Therefore, when going to the bathhouse, do not forget to take with you a bottle of the best "live" beer.

For a healing steam, pour a mug of beer over hot stones and steam as usual.

Beer baths will also leave your skin soft and silky. For this purpose, a special beer with a strength of ten degrees is even produced in containers of one and a half liters. Beer baths warm joints, relax muscles, and heal skin and hair. To pamper yourself with such a procedure, it is not at all necessary to spend a lot of money. You can prepare such a bath yourself. To do this, you need to add one bottle of beer to the warm bath.

It should be noted that these baths are especially useful in summer, as they perfectly cleanse the skin and regulate the process of perspiration. To get the most out of your beer baths, take a course of ten baths. True, in this case more beer will be required, about 3 liters per procedure. At the same time, the beer should be light, "live". The duration of one procedure is approximately 15-20 minutes. Another important condition: during the course of beer baths, no other baths can be taken during the same period.

But after these home SPA procedures, the skin becomes more elastic, rejuvenated, and acne, which is a real problem for many, disappears. Equally important is the fact that the use of beer baths helps to reduce weight, regulate sweating and blood pressure levels, and, in addition, they relieve fatigue and perfectly relax.

Have you ever taken a beer bath? You answer - no, that's also why it is. Cosmetologists claim that beer and hops have health-improving effect on the skin. And all thanks to the fact that they contain iron, selenium, magnesium, copper, zinc, phosphorus, as well as vitamins B1 and B3. The best SPA resorts in Japan offer this procedure to their wealthy clients. Not so long ago, beer baths have become popular in the best hotels in London. Rich Englishmen are ready to pay a lot of money for this pleasure. And I will tell you how to take such a bath at home.

To do this, add 0.5 liters of dark beer to the bath. The water should be fairly hot, but not scalding. You should take a bath for 10-15 minutes, while the area of \u200b\u200bthe heart should be above the water level. If you are confused by the smell, then try to choose a less odorous variety of this drink.

By the way, beer steam is very useful for the skin. It is no coincidence that true lovers of steam baths pour beer on hot coals.

The Czech Republic has long been famous for its excellent beer. However, while traveling in this country, you can not only enjoy the taste of the intoxicating drink, but also heal with its help, taking beer baths.

The history of foam baths

The beneficial properties of beer have been used traditional healers more than one millennium. But the founder of modern beer baths is considered to be Roman Vokati, a specialist in balneology and physiotherapy, who works in one of the clinics in the Marianske Lazne resort. It was he who developed a complex of medical procedures using a foamy drink, which was first implemented in 2006 at the Chodovar brewery in the town of the same name.

However, there is another story that tells about the birth of the "intoxicated spa". According to legend, one of the Chodovar fishermen accidentally fell into a barrel of beer and stayed there for some time. After that, he felt that his back practically stopped hurting, and a few days later he repeated the "bathing", having previously added hot water to the container with a cold drink. As a result, the fisherman forgot about the problems with the spine and joints.

One way or another, today beer baths are an incredibly popular procedure carried out in many Czech cities, including Prague.

The essence of the procedure

The beer bath is an oak barrel filled with a special solution. The composition of the bath fluid varies from salon to salon. The classic version is mineral water and beer ingredients in a 50/50 ratio.

Beer wort with a high concentration of hops and malt and yeast added directly to the water are used as active substances. There is no alcohol in the solution, but it is enriched with herbal extracts and natural oils.

The temperature of the font is from 34 to 37 degrees. You can dive into it in a swimsuit, but it is better - without any clothes at all, thanks to this, the effectiveness of beer therapy increases.
The duration of the session is 20-30 minutes. After that, it is recommended to rest, and also not to take a shower for 12 hours, so that all the beneficial substances penetrate deep into the skin.
After each client, the bathing tank is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. In addition, oak itself is a good antiseptic.

Benefits of bathing in beer

The effect of beer baths is determined by the unique composition of the bathing solution, because under the influence of high temperature the pores of the skin open and are saturated with the active substances present in the water.

Brewer's yeast is a source of B vitamins, which are essential for skin health. Thanks to them, the integuments are renewed faster, moisturized and healed. In addition, yeast contains many valuable amino acids, trace elements (iron, copper, zinc, manganese), enzymes and other compounds. They have a positive effect not only on the skin, but also on the cardiovascular, immune and nervous systems.

Hops release essential oils into water, which have a powerful disinfecting and regenerating effect. And carbon dioxide helps to accelerate metabolic processes, activate blood circulation and relieve inflammation. In addition, the mineral water, on the basis of which the beer solution is prepared, contains silicon - an element responsible for maintaining the youthfulness of the skin.

Thus, beer baths act on the body in the following directions:

  • heal the skin, making it more elastic, fresh, hydrated;
  • treat acne, psoriasis, eczema, heal small wounds;
  • regulate sweating;
  • give hair shine and strength;
  • reduce the severity of cellulite;
  • relieve fatigue and relax due to hydromassage and warm steam;
  • warm up the joints, relieving pain in them;
  • help the body cleanse itself of toxins;
  • normalize blood pressure;
  • increase immunity;
  • improve digestion and so on.

However, bathing in an intoxicated drink also has its own contraindications, these include:

  • pregnancy;
  • age up to 15 years;
  • any diseases in the acute stage;
  • severe pathologies of the cardiovascular and genitourinary systems;
  • neoplasms;
  • individual intolerance to beer.
  • In addition, with varicose veins, hypertension and the presence of an allergy to yeast and hops, it is worth consulting a doctor before the session.

Lázně Pramen

Feedback and photos were sent by Tatiana.
On our last trip to the already beloved Prague, my husband and I, in search of places untouched by tourists, quite accidentally passing by, stumbled upon such an institution.

We went in, met us at the reception and told us everything in detail in Russian, a nice girl. Allowed to take pictures. We offered a choice of beer or wine baths - we chose beer baths, but there is still an opportunity to take one - wine, the second - beer, for example.

Since the place is completely new and there are still few reservations, it was free and we decided to try the famous Czech beer baths. We did not plan in advance and did not reserve, accordingly, the time of the visit, then we had to wait about 15 minutes while collecting water.

I liked the interior decoration very much. Very cozy, it is clear that they approached the design with a soul! Calm music plays, quietly, no one bothers, but if you need help, then there is a call for the staff.

Everything emanates from novelty, purity, we were already impressed by this.

Then we had about 5 minutes before starting the baths, to which we added chopped hops and malt and stirred it in the beer, poured it into the bath.

The whole procedure lasts 1 hour and we were left with a timer, so that we were guided when to leave, the staff did not bother us anymore.

Then we sat in the bathrooms for about 20 minutes, sitting ourselves poured beer (the amount is unlimited), a choice of 2 varieties: dark and light. We were satisfied.

The baths turned off, we decided to sit in them a little longer and drink beer. Then, wrapped in sheets and covered with rugs, they lay in the hayloft.

Of course, everything comes to an end, our pleasant time in the beer baths is over, we went up to the reception, where we were in for a pleasant surprise in the form of Velvet beer, although the cost is not included in the procedure, but finding this beer in Prague is not very good easy, and the price is low. After that we also bought beer cosmetics (shampoo and conditioner).

We went out, rested and satisfied, next to us they advised the restaurant "U Belka", where excellent Czech cuisine was a great end to the day.

Already at the hotel we looked at the site of beer and wine baths, where everything is in Russian, which pleased us, there is a possibility of reservation. The staff (as we were told) all speaks Russian, Czech and English, so you can call and not be afraid that they will not understand.

I hope that our accidental find will help someone organize their leisure time and your travels to wonderful Prague will also leave only pleasant memories ...

Beer baths in Prague is a spa treatment that not only has a beneficial effect on the body, but also allows you to plunge into traditional Czech culture in the literal sense of the word.

Among the wellness procedures that help to improve human immunity, the beer bath occupies a special place. Cosmetologists recommend taking such baths for skin rejuvenation. Doctors especially focus on the important trace elements contained in beer and hops: iron, magnesium, zinc, selenium, copper and B vitamins. At reputable spas and resorts, employees will definitely offer this unique procedure. To carry out this procedure in a bathroom filled with hot water, about 20 liters of beer are added. Optimum temperature water - from 35 to 37 ° C. Hello friends! This is the final part of Vyacheslav's review, in which you will learn about beer baths in Chodova Plana and Chodovar brewery. Last time it was about For everyone who lives on the territory of the Chodovar complex, an excursion to the brewery is free of charge. The U Sladka has a spa center where you can sign up for massage sessions and beer baths.

Despite the large assortment of delicious beer, the Czechs went further and came up with: banana, coffee, cherry, nettle and chili beer. But all this is just a marketing ploy. Beer with additives and dyes taste, of course, loses to the classic light and dark.

Review of beer baths.

Excursion to the Chodovar brewery

The tour to the brewery begins with a 15-minute video. Then the guide takes you to the shops where the beer is made.

The first brewery in Hodovaya Plan was built in 1573, but it was destroyed by fire. In 1862, the new owner built a brewery, which practically retained its original appearance.

The Chodovar plant is open only in the first half of the day, and in the afternoon there are excursions to the plant.

Here technologists taste beer and check its quality.

According to the recipe, sprouted malt is mixed with water and beer wort is brewed in such a vat.

In the next workshop, hops and barley are added to live beer, and the fermentation process begins. I myself did not know, although I work in the beer industry, how non-alcoholic beer is made.

According to our guide, after brewing and before refining, beer is poured into baths where it languishes. For non-alcoholic languor, it takes only an hour and a half, and for normal beer it takes 3 days.

Then the beer goes to the bottling shop and .... To sleep. :)

The plant serves only 30 people, and the total number of workers at the Chodovar complex is 330.

In general, no military secret at the Chodovar brewery will be revealed to you, but many will like the process and the tasting.

Beer baths in Chodova Plana

After checking into the hotel, they explained everything to us and gave out leaflets on which a list of procedures was indicated. We checked into the rooms at 14.00 and in an hour we were taking beer baths.

If you think that the bath will be filled with one beer for you, you are deeply mistaken. Initially, a metal container is filled with mineral water from a spring at a temperature of 36 ° C, a pre-prepared sourdough from malt and crushed hops is also added there, another 5-6 liters of fresh beer is added there.

They take beer baths with or without swimming trunks, bathing suits. Sheets serve as partitions from prying eyes.

While taking a bath, you can drink beer in unlimited quantities. The composition of beer baths can vary, and aromatic herbs are often added there.

Don't worry about hygiene, that's all sanitary standards observed, wash and fill the bath in the presence of customers.

There are single and double baths, but together in one bath it is cramped. From the tap, you can add cold or hot water, adjust the temperature to suit your feelings.

You won't be allowed to just lie in such a bath for 20 minutes, because you also need to take beer inside. :), but not from the bath, but from a glass filled under the tap.

Bathing in beer is arranged every hour, there are always those who wish, so it is better to sign up for the procedure in advance.

Beer baths relax and heal the skin thanks to vitamin B, heal some skin diseases, and have a beneficial effect on the joints.

After taking a beer bath, everyone is wrapped in a sheet and invited to a quiet room, where they are wrapped in blankets AND ... ... another glass of beer is already standing next to you. Relaxation continues for 20 minutes, to calm music, no chatter, just beer and twilight. We had the same exact procedure 2 days later.

After completing the procedures, it is advisable not to wash for 4 hours, otherwise the whole process will go down the drain. We sat in a room with a stopwatch :), so as not to wash off the scent of beer ahead of time, although all shower facilities in the room are also based on local beer.

The next day we were invited for a massage. Professional masseurs speak German, English and Russian.

During the wraps for 20-30 minutes, I sweated as if I were in a 120-degree sauna. Having swaddled me, the masseur asked to rinse in the shower and return to the original one. The massage I was given was 10+.

The mass for wrapping consisted of hops, which after fermentation were heated to 55 degrees.

Another massage we had was with stones. The heated stones were evenly spread from the feet to the calves, further higher, to the neck. The pair was in socks and the pair was laid on the buttocks. You can breathe, but it is undesirable to move.

They turned me into a baby again, wrapped me in towels from head to toe, put on music, turned off the lights. The twilight and calm music relaxed. The dream really did not visit me, because after about 25 minutes they swaddled me, removed the stones, rubbed them with oils and began to massage my back and cervical vertebrae. Then they sat down and continued.
Unlike the first massage, they were not completely undressed.

Tip: you need to take with you flip-flops, a bathrobe and good mood... Sauna is not included in the package for 3 nights and 4 days. Price per hour 5 € per person.

Towels and sheets are provided when ordering a sauna.

The hotel has a swimming pool and sauna.

If you want to sign up for a massage, it is better to do it in the afternoon, and take beer baths in the morning.

Prices:

3 nights, 4 days in December 14th for two - 360 €.

The price included:

2 times beer baths, 2 times massage. Once with pebbles, the second time with hot hops.

Meals in the morning and in the evening (in the restaurant)

Second time 4 nights and 5 days - 436 €

Sauna every day (1 hour each)

3 beer baths and 3 massages. The previous two + another aroma full body massage.

I do not advise taking 1 or 2 days. In recalculation, it turns out that buying a package, you will spend less than for each procedure or bath separately.

The brand store sells high-quality beer-based cosmetics: gels, shampoos, bath foam.

And for those who, after a busy rest, are hungry, there is a restaurant "In the Rock" (link at the beginning of the article.)

On this, perhaps, we can finish. Beer baths in the village of Chodova Plana have never been exotic, rather, on the contrary, it is from here that they got their distribution. If you want to be convinced of their healing benefits, come to the Czech Republic!

Thank you Vyacheslav for the informative review! Thank you all for your attention!
