What You'll Need: Balloons, glue, yarn, glue tray, cornstarch 1/2 cup Cornstarch, 1/4 cup Warm water, clear fast drying spray, hanging lamp cord or fishing line (depending on your desired final product), and a lighting kit if you're looking for a fully functional flashlight.
Instruction:
1. Inflate the balloon to a medium size so the shape is a small loafer.
2. If you are looking to make a lampshade from a string chandelier, use a sharpie to mark around the knot on the balloon.
3. Before you start working, we recommend using a tarp. Mix cornstarch, glue and warm water together until it has a smooth texture.
5. Smear Vaseline all over your hot air balloon until it is completely covered so th twine wet with glue won't stick on the balloon after dry.
6. You can start a little conveyor belt with friends one of you feeding the yarn through the glue mix and giving the other person to wrap it around the balloon.
7. Start wrapping the balloon vertically, slowly changing to a wrap. For a seamless look, tuck the ends of the twine under one of the wrapped strings.
8. Wait 24 hours until the balloon is completely dry before popping the balloon.
9. Spray string chandeliers with clear fast drying spray paint and voila!

Manufacturing process:
1. How to make a simple but very unusual rope lamp? Take an inflated beach ball and mark the place through which you can insert the cartridge. Use as a "pattern" a jar with a round bottom, which can be circled with a felt-tip pen.
2. Now cover the decorative rope with glue. It is better if you pour the glue into a container and then dip the cord into it. For convenience, wind his hand and moisten the loops, then remove excess glue.
3. Next, wrap the inflatable ball in a chaotic manner several times. Get a fancy openwork and stylish lampshade with your own hands. The main thing is not to touch the drawn circle indicating the hole for the cartridge.
4. After you attach the future lamp desired view, put it aside. The glue will dry in about 6-8 hours.
5. After the glue has completely dried on the rope, it is necessary to “release” the ball from the shell. Use something sharp, such as a nail or scissors, to pierce the balloon. He must deflate himself, without outside help otherwise you may damage the structure. When the ball becomes very small, carefully remove it through the hole.
6. If you want to experiment with the color of a handmade lampshade, use latex paint. It will not only color the product, but also securely fasten the frame of the lamp. For two servings of paint, take one serving of water to make a solution of the desired consistency.
7. To paint the chandelier evenly, dip the product into the latex paint a couple of times at short intervals of no more than 3-4 seconds. If you leave the frame in the paint for longer, the adhesive bond may loosen.
8. The do-it-yourself lamp is ready. It remains only to insert a light bulb, preferably LED.

It's just amazing and very simple work. The rope gives the effect of disorder, and the ball is perfect round shape, the glue subsequently replaces the ball and that's it, the chandelier is ready, it's so simple that you just can't believe it! After the balloon is inflated, tie the tip through which it was thought up into a knot, be careful, it will still have to be untied. Take a piece of tape and attach the rope nachos to the ball, do it not far from the tip of the ball, but be careful, you don’t need to tape it to the tip of the ball, we still need to untie it.
We work with a rope.
First, prepare everything as shown in the photo. You might think why a full skein was doused with glue, but everything is simple here, when the first chandelier was made, it became clear that 130 meters of rope had been spent on it. Therefore, if in your example the ball is large, stock up on a rope.
Prepare glue or thickener, as long as it is natural, does not emit pungent odors and does not have color. It will probably be white when liquid, but should be clear or opaque when dry. Yes, you understood me correctly, PVA is good! Prepare enough glue to thoroughly wet the entire rope. You may need about half a liter of glue.
When everything is ready, make the maximum diameter loops around the ball, try to apply them more or less tight so that they do not hang out. Do not wind too much in one place, try to give disorder in applying the rope. This will give greater structural strength and more original look chandeliers.
Let's inflate the balloon!
After the rope is applied, carefully untie the balloon and inflate it to the best of your ability. You should try hard and blow another couple of three liters of air into it. Perhaps you are already ready to ask why this is necessary. Everything is simple here. When the rope and glue dry, the ball will deflate, this is highly undesirable, because your chandelier will take the form of an egg. If you want to get a similar effect, then you are in luck. But, in the example, we achieve a perfectly round shape.
I also want to note that when the balloon is heated, the volume of air in it is greater than when the balloon is just in room temperature or chilled, for example, at night outside. Based on this, I advise you to apply the warm air injection technology, which is shown in the photo. As you can see, the heater is working and the air is running at low speed, the fan is driving to the ball. Everything is pretty simple. You can use the heater without a fan, warm air rises on its own. But you do not need to abuse the heat so that the ball does not burst. Do not forget to put newspapers or garbage bags on the floor, this will save your floor from glue, which is quite difficult to clean after it hardens.
Dry ball.
I usually try not to force things and calmly wait until everything is completely dry. I’d rather spend a day instead of 15 hours, but I will succeed than to redo it a second time.
Take a pin and pop the balloon. It may not be easy to remove, you can use a long object to remove it. In our case, a screwdriver was involved. When the ball is ready to be removed, do round hole up. This hole is necessary not only to remove the balloon, but also to place the lamp inside the structure.

The easiest way is to fix the lamp, as shown in the photo. You need to attach some plastic part to the cord, to which it will be convenient to screw a lot of fishing lines. Step-by-step description of the manufacture of the lamp
From size inflated balloon depends on the size of the lamp.
The surface on which we will make a rope lamp with our own hands should be covered with newspaper in order not to make a mess in the room. It is easier to throw away the newspaper than to launder the glue from the apartment all day later. Next, we collect full lungs of air and inflate the balloon (or the ball that you have found). The size of the inflated balloon depends on what size you want your lamp to be. Things will move faster if you have a pump.
On an inflated ball or ball, you need to draw a round hole with a diameter of 10 cm (if the ball is 40 cm in diameter) with a marker or felt-tip pen. We will need it in order to insert a cartridge with a lamp into our lamp. And this will be the bottom of our lamp. Thanks to this hole, the light will be scattered throughout the room. To make an even circle, take something round and circle it. Do not forget to leave somewhere 2-3 cm free on the other side for the lamp holder.
Now you need to moisten the rope in glue. In a container you do not need, for example, in a cut plastic bottle, dilute the glue. Wrap the thread around your brush and lower it into a container with glue. After that, gently pull it out and use your fingers to remove excess glue. With this rope in glue, start wrapping inflated balloon. Be careful, the round hole that you drew should not be wrapped with a rope, because this is a place for a cartridge with a lamp. Wrap the rope around the ball as much as you need. Do not try to make everything beautiful, the randomness of the rope will create an original pattern on the lamp.
The rope is dipped in glue and then wound around the ball.
If the rope dries out during wrapping, dip it again in glue. Do not forget to hide and glue the ends of the cord well. The better you glue the cord, the stronger the lamp will be. When wrapped the entire length, let the ball dry. This will take around 24-48 hours.
When the ball is completely dry, take a pin or needle and pop it. Wait for the ball to deflate itself, do not help it, otherwise you can break the structure of the lamp. Then carefully remove the rest of the ball from the round hole and discard it.
To make your own rope lamp look even more spectacular, you can paint it latex paint, since it is non-toxic, odorless and diluted with water. It will also add strength to the product. Choose the paint color that suits your room interior. Dilute it in water (with proportions for 2 cups of paint 1 cup of water). Dip the lamp several times in this solution every 3-4 seconds.
In order for the lamp to burn, it is necessary to attach a cartridge with a light bulb to it.
If you want to increase the diameter of the ball by 10 cm (from 40 cm), then increase the diameter of the hole by 5 cm (from 10 cm) and so on.
While the rope with glue dries, the ball may deflate. And then the shape of our chandelier will not be round at all, but oval. To prevent it from deflating, carefully untie the tail of the balloon and blow in the air with all your might. But you need to do this when the ball is a little dry. Tie the balloon again, let it dry further.
Note that when the balloon is hot, the volume of air in it is greater than when the room is cool. To keep the ball warm, you can put a heater in the room, it will raise warm air. Just don't overheat the balloon or it will burst.
Be careful: you can’t keep the lamp in the paint for a long time, because it can soak the adhesive base of the rope.
Here is the lampshade. In order for it to turn into a lamp, you need to attach a lamp holder to it. It is easy to insert through the round hole. Hang a lamp from the ceiling.
It's better to use a light bulb low power so that it does not heat the lampshade too much. Also, the lamp can be decorated with butterflies that can be bought at the store, or flowers woven from beads or made from strips of paper (using the quilling technique) and so on.
