Why cost a gazebo made of plastic bottles?

  1. First, it's original,
  2. Secondly, a large number of bottles will not end up in a landfill, but will serve a good purpose,
  3. Thirdly, you can save money, and not only on doing work with your own hands, but also on materials.

Scheme general view garden gazebo.

First you need to collect the bottles. This may take a long time. However, if you involve friends and family in the business, then the material will accumulate faster. Any plastic bottles will work, but the best option will serve one and a half and two liters. Preliminary preparation consists in removing the labels.

A bottle gazebo can be made in different ways: it can be a house or a classic one with a roof and semi-closed walls, as well as various pergolas.

To make a gazebo from bottles for a summer residence, we first prepare a place. We level the site, if necessary, make sand bedding or install posts for the foundation, for example, from pieces of metal pipes. Laying the foundation will make the gazebo more expensive, but will allow you to lay the floor in it. This option is preferable in damp, low areas where the use of soil as the floor of the gazebo is undesirable.

To build a gazebo, we need:

materials:

  • plastic bottles with a volume of 1.5-2 liters;
  • wooden beam with a cross section of 100 mm, boards, metal pipes for the frame;
  • wooden beam with a cross section of 50 mm for rafters;
  • boards 25 mm thick for roof lathing;
  • metal rod (reinforcement) 10-15 mm thick.

fasteners:

  • nails;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • staples.

tools:

  • knife, scissors for cutting bottles;
  • hacksaw, ax for cutting and fitting wooden parts;
  • screwdriver or electric drill for fastening work;
  • building level and plumb line to check the horizontal and vertical structures.

Arbor frame diagram.

First, we build a frame from wooden beams... The use of a bar will ensure sufficient weight of the structure so that it does not blow away from your summer cottage at the first strong wind, and will also give strength to the entire structure. Nice frame for a gazebo or pergola it will turn out from metal pipes.

We build supporting structure, installing the beam at the corners of the future gazebo and making the lower strapping around the perimeter. The top harness can also be made from a bar, but you can also use a 40 mm board. If you want a closed space, then such a frame is sufficient. If a semi-open gazebo is planned, then you need to make another tier of harness - at the level of the railing. The lower part of the frame will be closed (approximately 70 cm from the floor level of the gazebo), the upper one will be open. The frame of the gazebo, which you make with your own hands, can be combined: columns made of pipes, horizontal parts made of wood.

The frame of the future roof is definitely made. For this, rafters are installed. They can be made from a board with a thickness of 25 mm or bars with a section of 50 mm. Gable roofs look advantageous, however, in order to simplify the structure, you can install rafters for a gable. If you plan to use plastic bottles to cover the roof, then you need to make a continuous crate along the rafters. The gazebo is a small structure, therefore, if you really want to do something original for your summer cottage, then you will cope with this task on your own.

Next, we build walls using plastic bottles. To do this, we put them one by one on steel wire... It turns out a kind of pipes that are attached to the horizontal parts of the frame. Walls are made of these pipes. They can be solid if they are located on the side of cold winds. You can make walls up to a certain level. You can also make windows, but then additional frame details are needed.

Should the necks be cut off the bottles? It is possible to use bottles whole and with cut necks. In the first case (when the bottle is closed with a cork) it is stronger, in the second it will be more aesthetically pleasing.

Colored bottles work very well for the roof. Better to take two liters. Both the bottom and the neck are cut off, the remainder is cut in half. You should get a rectangle that is straightened in hot water. It is not necessary to achieve full straightening: if the plastic rectangles are slightly wavy, this will add additional originality to the roof. So, the resulting rectangles made of plastic are nailed to the crate in the form of tiles. Such work is always started from above.

The same principle of covering the roof is also suitable for a pergola, then it will be possible to rest in it in rainy weather. Pergola walls can be made from climbing plantsby running them along the pipes of the uprights.

That's all: the bottle gazebo that you made with your own hands is ready. You can invite guests to drink tea for friendly conversations or retire in it to read your favorite book, or just take a break from the hustle and bustle and dream.

The designs will have to spend a tidy sum. An excellent way out of the situation is a gazebo made of plastic bottles.

A gazebo made of plastic bottles. The main thing is to show imagination and a cozy building will soon be ready.

Preparatory stage

The frame of the future structure is best made from a wooden bar; plastic bottles can be used for the walls. But first you will have to collect material for a long time. For a garden building, 1.5 and 2 liters bottles are suitable, from which the labels are first removed.

The plastic structure can be made in two ways - in the form of a house and a classic gazebo with a roof.

Preparation for construction includes the following stages:

  1. Clearing a place for a building.
  2. The ground should be leveled and sand should be poured.
  3. Install supports for the foundation. It could be pieces metal pipe or bars.

After installing the supports, you can proceed to the construction of the plastic structure. Arranging the foundation will increase the cost of the building, but will additionally strengthen it and allow you to make the floor. This is necessary if the soil is too wet.

The use of multi-colored bottles will allow you to get a unique design.

Plastic containers are painted from the inside with liquid acrylic paint using a spray bottle.

Benefits of building a plastic gazebo

The construction of a gazebo made of plastic has the following advantages:

  1. Originality. Unusual construction will make the site stand out among others.
  2. Useful use of bottles. Usually they are simply thrown away, which is harmful to the environment.
  3. Saving on materials and services of builders. It is much easier to build a gazebo from bottles than from metal, brick or wood.

Materials

Even for such a simple design, you will need a drawing that will help you correctly calculate the number of bottles needed for work and determine the shape of the future building.

Video: Overview of gazebos from plastic bottles

Materials and tools should be stored for the gazebo:

  • Wooden beam with a section of 10 cm for the frame and 5 cm for the rafters,
  • Boards 2.5 cm thick - for the roof,
  • Metal pipes for supports,
  • Rebar with a cross section of 1-1.5 cm,
  • Plastic bottles with a volume of 1.5 liters.
  • Cement, sand, crushed stone,
  • Shovel,
  • Scissors or knife
  • Wire,
  • Fasteners - screws, nails, staples,
  • Hacksaw,
  • Glue, scotch tape,
  • Building level, plumb line.
  • Ax.

All bottles must be the same size and moderately rigid.

Assembling the plastic structure

The assembly of the bottle gazebo can be done in two ways. The first method involves the following sequence of actions:

1. If a wooden beam is not used in the construction of the frame, the container located at the base of the gazebo should be filled with sand and stones for weighting. Pebbles can be painted in different colors, so the gazebo will look more attractive.

Bottles are being prepared. The bottoms are cut off and the bottles are inserted into each other.

2. The soil is leveled and the pits are prepared for the supports. A wooden beam is installed horizontally and vertically in them.

3. Walls are made of bottles, linked together with tape or glue. When using a bar for the frame, the bottles are strung on a wire and fixed vertically. Install the frame of the gazebo from the bar.

4. Make rafter system from a thinner beam for the future roof of the gazebo. A lattice of often spaced bars is laid on them.

5. For a sloping roof, half of the supporting wooden beams are installed slightly higher than the others.

The second version of the gazebo made of plastic bottles is as follows:

1. Mount the gazebo frame from wooden beams, located in the vertical and horizontal directions. The part of the base that is in contact with the ground should be immersed in it. The lower part of the base is immersed in the ground, securely fastened.

2. Plastic bottles for the second method can be smaller. Analogues of bricks are made of them, stuffing with sand and gravel.

3. The first layer of pitch bottles is placed on the base. They are connected to each other with concrete mortar.

4. A lattice is made, consisting of thin beams for the roof.

The result is a more durable structure that is in no way inferior to a wooden or brick arbor.

Roof fabrication and installation

The roof can also be made from bottles. Their bottoms and necks are cut off. The resulting ring is cut in half.

But the pieces of plastic must first be straightened out. They are dipped in hot water and then put under oppression for a couple of days. A kind of plastic tile is suitable for roof installation.

Finished roof elements are laid, starting from the edges and up, overlapping. Plastic is attached to the wooden crate with self-tapping screws. Rubber gaskets will help prevent damage to homemade plastic tiles.

The method of laying the last, topmost layer depends on the shape of the roof. For sloping roofs, the final layer of shingles is fixed so that the upper elements are found on the wall to protect all joints.

With a gable or hipped roof, the joints of adjacent parts are closed, fixing them at both ends of the roof.

Bottle roof. Lightweight and durable roof.

Multi-colored corks will serve as a mosaic floor. To do this, the soil is carefully compacted along the perimeter of the future building. Formwork is installed and wet sand is poured. Then the covers are pressed into it and the original flooring is ready. The only drawback of this floor is its fragility. Extend service life flooring cement or cement glue will help from the corks. A mixture of cement and tile glue is ideal.

The bottoms of the bottles are also suitable for curtains. They can be hung in place of a door or in window openings. Openwork curtains will add originality to the gazebo and decorate it. It's easy to make them - just heat the sand in a pan and melt the edges of the bottoms. To achieve this effect, the bottoms are pressed against the hot sand. This will help eliminate
burrs formed when cutting them.

Plastic bottles are used not only for the manufacture of the gazebo itself, but also for individual elements.

In several places, usually along the edges, the bottoms are pierced with a needle. Puncture points are selected depending on the intended design of the curtains. Wire is threaded through the holes obtained. The curtains can be solid and located around the perimeter of the gazebo or in separate stripes. Such a curtain is more suitable for closing the entrance to the building.

Plastic bottles are great construction materialsuitable for making almost any piece of furniture. It is easy to make a table, chair, bed or sofa from them. All you need is scotch tape, scissors and a little imagination. To strengthen the structure, the bottles are folded into one another or fastened to each other with tape. Finished furniture is decorated with a tablecloth or cover.

A self-made bottle gazebo will delight you with its simplicity and affordability. In it you can receive guests or just relax after work at the summer cottage.

The house, entirely made of plastic bottles, appeared in the garden of the Argentinean Alfredo Santa Cruz, a resident of the city of Puerto Iguazu. None of the Alfredo family is a professional architect or designer, but this did not prevent such an original idea from being realized. Moreover, the design they created is quite robust.

Almost everything is made of plastic bottles, Tetra Pak cartons and CD cases: walls, ceiling, furniture and even a canopy over the entrance. In addition, Alfredo built a separate small house for his little daughter to play.

In total, the following amount of "building materials" was used for the construction:
1200 plastic bottles for walls
1300 packs of Tetra Pak for milk and wine for the roof
140 packs of CDs for doors and windows
120 plastic bottles for sofa
200 plastic bottles for bed

Alfredo considers his house one of the most environmentally friendly in the country, and the economy is truly waste-free.

A gazebo made of plastic bottles

A gazebo is a decoration of any site, yard. But, often, buying or building it from new building materials is expensive. I would like to build it myself, the result was pleasing to the eye and the price is cheap. A gazebo made of plastic bottles is a worthy solution to the issue.

All bottles must be the same size. It is best to use non-rigid 1.5 liter bottles.

Preparation of material for the construction of a gazebo
It makes no sense to accumulate material for the manufacture of bottle designs for a long time: although it is very light, it takes up a lot of space. It is easier to negotiate with the nearest summer cafe that uses such a container in their work, and pick up the required amount from them in a few days.

Bottles must be soaked for an hour or two in warm water with the addition of soda, remove the remnants of labels and dry in the sun. After that, the bottles are sorted by color so that patterned designs can be laid out.

For greater decorativeness, some of the bottles can be painted from the inside with acrylic paints. This is very easy to do. A little paint should be poured into the bottle and shaken well. Pour excess paint - it will be useful for the next bottle.

1. Better to start by choosing a place and drawing a future gazebo.

2. The next point will be the construction of a base of bars, first the pillars, which should be dug into the ground around the perimeter and strengthened. The supporting pillars, which are located along the entrance line, are made slightly higher in order to subsequently make a sloping roof. Then these pillars are pulled together in a circle in three places: at the very bottom, at a distance of about 1.2 meters from the lower girth and at the top, under the roof

2. We pass to the construction of the walls of the gazebo. This can be done in several ways. First: connect bottles of the same shape and size to each other as you like, so that you get columns. Pass a wire through them, along the post. Fix the ends of the wire on the cross bars. Such a gazebo will turn out to be light, airy.

The second way to build more solid walls is to fill the bottles with earth or sand and lay them, fastened with mortar, on the ground, with the bottom inward. The height of the side of the gazebo depends on your desire. If bottles are available different colors, try to lay out the ornament.

3. Now the roof. We cut off the bottom of the bottles, the neck, cut them along the wall. We heat the resulting rectangles in hot water and straighten them by placing a load on top. We fasten the finished rectangles with a stapler into a large sheet. This will be the roof covering. You can lay each rectangle separately, fixing with nails. To do this, you need to make a base of boards on the roof.

Modern summer residents prefer to relax at the dacha, and not to engage in agricultural work. Country gazebo perfect for arranging a recreation area. It can be built from any and not very building materials. Arbors are even built from plastic bottles.

This, so to speak, building material is absolutely free. How to make a gazebo out of bottles? This will take a lot of effort, patience and hard work. If all this does not scare you, then you can try!

If you decide to build a gazebo from plastic bottles, then stock up on them ahead of time, since you will need a lot of them. Bottles can be asked from neighbors, collected from garbage dumps and asked around in public catering places. You can make the whole gazebo out of plastic bottles, you can use them for decoration. What a gazebo made of plastic bottles looks like in the photo.

We start construction

We are offering to you short instruction for the construction of a gazebo from bottles. For the construction of a gazebo from plastic bottles, it is necessary to collect a huge number of plastic bottles. Then come up with or find a suitable project on the Internet. Make a drawing of the future arbor. Other building materials will also be needed to build an arbor from plastic bottles.

Depending on your project, you may need metallic profile, to create the frame of the arbor. The frame can also be made of wood or stone. A PVC profile may also work fine.

Next preparatory stage there will be a choice of a place for the future structure and preparation of a construction site.

If you decide to lay the foundation for the arbor, then this must be done first of all. To continue further construction works it is necessary to wait for the foundation to get stronger.

Walls

A plastic bottle gazebo can be:

  • open type;
  • semi-closed type;
  • closed type.

See the various bottle gazebos in the photo.

The semi-closed type is perhaps the most optimal for an arbor made of plastic bottles.

In order to start building the walls of the gazebo, you need to mount the frame. Depending on your standard project make a frame from a metal or PVC profile, or from wood. You can make a frame in the form of stone columns.

When the frame is ready, we proceed to the construction of the walls. Plastic bottles come in a variety of colors, so it is possible to create a colored mosaic or lay out a pattern.

It is advisable to draw up a drawing of the picture in advance. Drawings can be different, in the form of a sun, some geometric patterns, or children's figures.

In order to assemble the walls from plastic bottles, you can simply string them on a wire. The wire is attached to the top and bottom edges of the frame. You can also arrange the bottles horizontally.

DIY bottle gazebo on your site

To give the structure strength, you can fill the bottles with sand. The construction of a gazebo from plastic bottles requires a lot of patience, since this process is long. Curtains can be made from plastic bottles. Bottle corks can be used to decorate the floor of the arbor.

You can also create decorative shapes to decorate the site. You can arrange various flower beds. There are a lot of ideas for plastic bottles. Plastic bottles can be easily dyed different colors... To do this: pour some paint inside the bottle, close the lid and turn it slowly so that the paint covers the entire surface of the bottle. Look at the photo and video, how it looks.

A whole architectural ensemble can be created from plastic bottles. Collect several figures from plastic bottles, place them next to the arbor. Pave the bottle cork paths. Make several beds from the same material, as well as some kind of water feature. You will get a whole composition made from plastic bottles.

If your imagination tells you some other options, then you can use your own ideas.

Green plastic bottles will fit perfectly into landscape design... Transparent ones look great too. It is important that transparent bottles are clean, otherwise they will lose their aesthetic appearance.

Altankas made of plastic bottles look quite attractive, but still remember that this process is very painstaking and requires special patience. Although the material for construction is completely free, the costs will be all the same.

It is necessary to create a metal or wood arbor frame; you may also need nails, screws, glue and paint. So you shouldn't really count on cheapness. Of course, if you really like products made from plastic bottles, then of course you can try, why not!

Some people and greenhouses are built from plastic bottles. On the one hand, such a creation can be quite durable and reliable, and can be used for a long time. On the other hand, some find it easier to buy a ready-made greenhouse or a polycarbonate arbor. It will last forever, and probably never deteriorate. Installation of such products is easy and quick. In any case, the choice is yours.

It is realistic to equip a recreation area with your own hands using plastic bottles. Many people have already learned how to use plastic bottles in construction and other fields. Various crafts are made from bottles, very beautiful.

The main thing is to learn the skills of working with plastic. Before building anything out of bottles, they must be thoroughly washed, and only then start working with them. Many people use a soldering iron to work with plastic; with a soldering iron, you can connect parts of plastic to each other, make curly drawings.

After shock labor on personal plot I want to relax. But not everyone wants or can spend a lot of money on a vacation spot. A bottle gazebo is a great way out for those who want to create a unique structure without investing huge amounts of money. In addition, the creation of such a design is a truly creative process that will allow you to embody the most daring ideas.

Design advantages

A bottle gazebo is an extremely functional and simple structure. In addition to its low cost, it has several other advantages:

  • Attractive appearance ... Brick and wooden buildings today you will not surprise anyone. And here original combination multi-colored plastic looks very interesting.
  • Respect for the environment. Plastic bottlesdecomposing in open landfills cause serious damage environment... Collecting and creating useful structures from them, you save nature.
  • Savings. Such buildings allow you to save not only on materials, but also on the services of specialists. A non-professional can handle the construction of such a structure.

Plastic bottles are a building material that can be easily collected. Almost any family buys products in such containers. And if you don't have enough bottles to build, you can ask your friends or neighbors for the missing ones.

Preparatory stage

Any project starts with planning. You should not neglect them, this will save you time, money, and most importantly - nerves.

Preparation for the construction of a gazebo from plastic bottles includes:

  • Creation of a drawing or sketch. It is not necessary to draw detailed plan - a visual sketch will be enough. It will allow you to understand how many bottles you need to build.
  • Search for containers of the same volume. The most convenient size for building in one and a half and two liter containers.
  • The washing up. A bottle gazebo with labels will look unpresentable. To remove paper and glue residues, the bottles are soaked in a soda solution for a couple of hours. Then the labels can be easily removed.
  • Drying and sorting. After washing, the bottles must be separated by color and type. If you are planning a one-color gazebo, then you can skip sorting.
  • Painting. If the transparent container seems boring to you, you can paint it. Add a 1: 1 mixture of acrylic paint and water to the bottle and shake. This should be done so that the liquid covers all walls evenly. Then the solution is poured into another bottle and the same is done. Consider that acrylic paints dry quickly in air.

Note!If you want to collect the necessary building materials in short term - negotiate with a public institution.

As a rule, in such places there is a very large container turnover. There you can buy the required number of bottles at once for a small price.

Installation process

If you don't know how to make a gazebo out of plastic bottles, read the instructions below. In addition to the bottles themselves, you will have to stock up on sand and other materials. There are two of the most popular container construction methods. They differ in the way the walls are erected.

Gazebo on wooden supports

To give the structure stability, the bottles that will be the first row are filled with sand and pebbles. To make the design look interesting, stones can be painted different colors... The first stage of construction is the erection of supports. The strength of the plastic is not enough to support the weight of the entire structure. A beam is used for supports. Pits are dug under the beams and the timber is immersed. You can create a kind of submerged frame. Vertical beams are dug into the ground a meter, and horizontal beams are attached to them at the corners already on the ground surface.

Walls can be installed in two different ways: per axis or per solution. A strong metal wire is used as the axis. Bottles are strung on the not in the neck and bottom sequentially until their length is enough for the entire wall. The second way is masonry. Instead of the traditional mortar, glue is used. The bottles are stacked in a checkerboard pattern and the solution is smeared on the points of contact - there will be four of them (two on top and two on the bottom).

Note! For walls, containers can be fastened in different ways - horizontally, vertically or by the type of masonry. The styling option depends on your idea and the amount of building material.

It is very easy to make such a gazebo out of plastic bottles with your own hands (photo is presented below). After the walls have been erected, it remains to make the roof. For her, the simplest rafter system is assembled and beams are laid on it with a step of 10-15 cm.

Weighted gazebo

The frame for such a gazebo is made according to the same principle as for the first. Only the way the walls are laid is different. For her, they use not empty, but containers filled with sand. The bottles will act as a kind of bricks. Bottles filled with sand are stacked according to the principle brickwork, and the seams are fastened with concrete mortar.

A gazebo built in this way is in no way inferior in strength to wood or brick. And in case of a breakdown, the missing "bricks" can be easily replaced with new ones.

Roof installation

The optimal roof option for building from plastic containers - pitched. It will protect the building from moisture accumulation. To make the gazebo look organic, the roof is made from the same plastic bottles. For this, the bottom and the tapering neck of the container are cut off, leaving an even cylinder. This part is cut lengthwise, so that a rectangle is obtained. Then the plastic is immersed in hot water for 5-10 minutes and placed under a press.

When all the rectangles are straightened, tiles are assembled from them. To do this, you can simply fasten the pieces of plastic in a checkerboard pattern with an overlap. A nylon thread is used as fasteners or construction brackets... The roof for a bottle gazebo (see photo below) is not able to withstand heavy loads. I use moisture-resistant plywood as a base for plastic tiles. It is attached to the rafters with self-tapping screws, and then the tiles are already laid.

Important! Ordinary stationery brackets may not withstand wind loads. Best to use construction stapler and large staples.

Arbor from glass bottles

If a building made of plastic does not seem reliable to you or you want to tackle a more complex project, then you should take a closer look at the construction of a gazebo from glass bottles... Such a building will cost more than a plastic one, but it looks more impressive. If you have a glass cutter and free time on the site, you can create interesting gazebo from glass with multi-colored stained-glass windows. If you want to know how to build a gazebo from glass containers and what materials are needed for this - see detailed video about creating such a structure.

The bottle building is not only a convenient place to stay, but also a great way to save money. Without being afraid to bring your wildest ideas to life, you can create truly interesting design designs.
