In general, it is best to have two sets of linen per bed and one guest set. For example, we have 2 sofas and 1 bed in our house. It turns out that I have 2 sets for a children's sofa, one that is used now, the other is interchangeable. My husband and I also have 2 sets of bedding. And the last for the guests, he kept in the sofa in drawer in the living room. Thus, my favorite reigns in this area.
If you are presented with new bedding, do not open it until the previous one has worn out, or until there is no emergency. It happens that you, for example, replaced a small bed with a large one, or one and a half blanket for a double. Duvet cover or sheet no longer fits. No need to get upset, just buy a separate part of a similar color, and the kit will become complete again.
Bed linen storage: where?
By this concept, I also mean storing extra or spare blankets, pillows, mattresses, blankets that you are not currently using.
