The name Uriel, translated from Hebrew, means the light or fire of God, the enlightener (3 Ezra 5:20).
Uriel, being the radiance of the Divine fire, is the enlightener of the darkened. As an Angel of light, he enlightens the minds of people with the revelation of truths that are useful to them; as an Angel of Divine fire, he ignites hearts with love for God and destroys in them impure earthly attachments.

People devoted to the sciences are your Archangel! Do not forget, following his example, to be servants not only of the light of truth, but also of the fire of Divine love. As the holy apostle Paul said: “Reason swells, but creates love” (1 Cor. 8, 1). Planet Earth is under the protection of seven Archangels: Chamuel, Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, Jophiel, Uriel, Zadkiel.

Archangels are "messengers bearing divine orders". They carry God's messages to people and lead God's army, consisting of angels and leading an unceasing battle with the sons of Darkness, with Michael being the commander-in-chief.

In heaven, brethren, in spite of mutual love, joy and bliss of each and every one, there is, however, no such equality, which some, out of extreme foolishness, seek on earth; and there some rule and stand, others obey and follow. Essential and complete equality is found only between three Persons Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Although the number of angels is immeasurably great, “them are so many” (Rev. 5:11), in the words of the Holy Scriptures; but there are only seven Archangels. “I am ... one of the seven holy angels,” said the Archangel Raphael to the righteous Tobit, “who bring the prayers of the saints and enter before the glory of the Holy One” (Tov.12:15). Why are there only seven main Angels - no less and no more?

This is the secret of creation, known to the Lord and the Creator of Angels. We can only note with reverence that the sevenfold number is a sacred number; for shall we look upon the kingdom of grace? We receive the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, the seven Sacraments. Shall we look at the realm of nature? We find seven rays of light, seven tones of sound, seven days of creation, etc.

Of these seven supreme spirits, the Holy Church recognizes Michael as the first. Who is like God (Heb.) - means his name; who is like God - express themselves and all his deeds. He first rebelled against Lucifer (Satan) when he rebelled against the Almighty. It is known how this first terrible war ended - with the overthrow of Dennitsa from heaven. Since then, Archangel Michael has not ceased to fight for the glory of the Creator and Lord of all, for the salvation of the human race, for the Church and her children. Therefore, he is always depicted in a warlike form, with a spear or sword in his hand, having a dragon under his feet, that is, the spirit of malice. The white banner adorning the top of his spear means the unchanging purity and unshakable fidelity of the Angels to the King of Heaven; and the cross with which the spear ends makes it clear that the battle with the kingdom of darkness and the victory over it by the Archangels themselves is done in the name of the Cross of Christ, done through patience, humility and self-sacrifice. Therefore, for those who are adorned with the name of the first of the Archangels, it is most fitting to be distinguished by zeal for the glory of God, loyalty to the King of Heaven and the kings of the earth, constant war against vice and wickedness, constant humility and self-denial.

The second place in the series of Angels belongs to Gabriel: a name meaning the power of God. This archangel in the matter of serving human salvation is especially a herald and a servant of the omnipotence of God. So, whether the power of God is revealed in the miraculous conception of the Forerunner from aged parents, the news of this conception is entrusted to Gabriel. Whether the seedless conception of the Son of God Himself can take place - the honor of announcing this goes to Gabriel again. The same Archangel, according to God-wise men, was sent to strengthen the Savior in the Garden of Gethsemane and to proclaim to the Mother of God Her all-honorable Assumption. Therefore, the Church calls him a minister of miracles. But, serving miracles, he is therefore a special minister of the mysteries of God. The Holy Church depicts him sometimes with a branch of paradise in his hand, which was brought by him to the Mother of God, and sometimes in his right hand with a lantern, inside of which a candle burns, and in his left hand with a jasper mirror. Gabriel is depicted with a mirror, since he is the messenger of the fate of God about the salvation of the human race; depicted with a candle in the lantern, since the fates of God are hidden until the time of their fulfillment, and when they are fulfilled, they are comprehended only by those who steadily look into the mirror of the word of God and their conscience. Thus, to all who bear the name of Gabriel, that faith of God is appropriate (Mark 2:25), for which, according to the word of the Savior Himself, nothing is impossible.

Raphael, or God's help and healing, is the name of the third Archangel; a name that is kind to all who suffer. AT Holy Scripture there is a whole book that describes how this Archangel, in the form of a man, accompanied the righteous Tobias, freed him from evil spirit his bride, restored sight to his aged father, Tobit, and then ascended from them into heaven. Therefore, this Archangel is depicted with a medical vessel in his left hand, with his right hand he leads Tobias. Very instructive are the words spoken by this Archangel when he was separated from the family of Tobit: “Prayer is good with fasting and almsgiving and truth ... - Raphael prophesied, - almsgiving delivers from death and melts cleansing all sin ... ecu did not hide me good, but Beh with you” (Tov. 12:8-9,13). Therefore, whoever wishes to be worthy of the heavenly help of Raphael, first of all, he himself needs to be merciful to the distressed. Moreover, the virtue of mercy and compassion should distinguish those bearing the name of Raphael: otherwise they will not have a spiritual union with the Archangel.

The fourth Archangel is depicted with a sword, and in a coat with a flame descending down the valley, and his name is Uriel, that is, the light or fire of God. As an Angel of light, he enlightens the minds of people with the revelation of truths that are useful to them; as an Angel of Divine fire, he ignites hearts with love for God and destroys in them impure earthly attachments. So, Uriel is your Archangel, people dedicated to the sciences! Do not forget, following his example, to be servants not only of the light of truth, but also of the fire of Divine love. “Reason (Ubo) swells, but creates love” (1 Corinthians 8:1).

The fifth Archangel is the supreme minister of prayer and is called Selaphiel. Pure and fiery prayer itself can serve instead of Cherubim for the soul, protecting it from all hostile forces. But what are our prayers? Weak, brief, impure, cold. And so, the Lord gave us a whole face of prayer angels with their leader Selaphiel, so that with the pure breath of their lips they would warm our cold hearts to prayer, so that they would instruct us about what, when and how to pray, so that they would lift up our very offerings to the throne of grace. When you see, brethren, on the icon of the Archangel, standing in a position of prayer, with his eyes downcast, with his hands applied with reverence to his Persians, then know that this is Selaphiel. And seeing the Archangel himself in such a position of prayer, try yourself during prayer to always be in a position decent for the one who is praying. Decent, I say, because many do not have this. Looking at how some of us pray, you will think that they do not ask, but command and threaten the One from whom they ask. Is this a prayer?

The sixth Archangel has a golden crown in his right hand, and a scourge of three red ropes in his coat. This is because the duty of this Archangel with the face of the Angels entrusted to him is to encourage with the reward of eternal blessings and to protect in the name of the Holy Trinity and the power of the Cross of Christ people who work for the glory of God; therefore it is called Yehudiel, or the praise of God. Each of us, young and old, is obliged to live and work for the glory of God. But on our sinful earth, among us sinful people, every good deed is not accomplished otherwise than with labor, and many do it with great and hard labor. What needs? Our Lord and Master will not forget any of our deeds and any "work of love" (Heb. 6:10) in His name. The greater the feat, the higher and brighter the reward. In the right hand of the Archangel, the crown is not in vain: this is a reward for every Christian who works for the glory of God.

When celebrating the Cathedral of the Archangels and Angels, we must, brethren, think about what we need, it is absolutely necessary to be either in the Cathedral of Angels, or among the gathering of outcast spirits. Who can decide on the latter? But, desiring the first, one must prepare oneself in advance for cohabitation with the Angels through the acquisition of Angelic thoughts and feelings. Amen.

There is a whole parascience about angels - angelology. The word "angel" in translation is a messenger. They are incorporeal companions and messengers of God. Early Christian angels date back to the image of the winged guards of the royal palaces of Assyria and Babylonia.

Gregory the Theologian in the 4th century proposed a different classification, and Cyril of Jerusalem, naming the same ranks as Pseudo-Dionysius, but in a slightly different order.

Angels have their own hierarchy, which was established in the 5th century in the treatise "Divine" by Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite. Angelic gradation includes 3 faces of 3 ranks each. Archangels, along with thrones and angels, occupy the third, lowest hierarchical level.

In another, more book of Enoch, a different classification is given and how many archangels exist. Only 7 archangels leading myriads of angels (heavenly host). They are also called archangels.

The word "archangel" is from Greek, meaning "chief or supreme messenger". How to communicate with angels.

1. Make room for angels in your life

Angels live in the world of the Spirit, the heavenly world, and we live in the world of matter. Naturally, they are drawn to the house. 2. Pray out loud

Angels answer many silent prayers or urgent desires of the heart. You don't have to speak to get their attention, especially in places where it would be inconvenient, like at a business meeting or on the subway. However, you will get a more powerful response if you speak to the angels out loud.

The spoken prayer has various forms: songs and hymns traditionally used to invoke angels, well-known prayers such as the Lord's Prayer, and free prayers in which you speak of the deepest yearnings of your soul. You can combine all this with "decrees" and "decrees" - new types of prayers, which you will learn about in this booklet.

7. Send your prayer to the right address

If you need to fix the pipes in the house, you call a plumber. To save yourself from a bully, call on the angels of protection. If you want to establish a relationship with someone, call the angels of love.

Here is an inspiring example. During World War II, left penniless, a woman turned to God for help. On the grocery list, she specifically listed what her family needed for their weekend meals. A few hours later, a man knocked on the door and handed over a basket of everything she asked for, down to veal, potatoes, and baking flour.

Here's how another woman worked with the angels to get the car she wanted. Danette was looking for a used Toyota 4-Runner, but she knew she wouldn't be able to pay what was usually charged for such a car. And then she decided to entrust this matter to the angels.

The woman wrote the year of manufacture of the car, make, color, engine size, reasonable price, mileage, type of wheels and tires that she needed. On the same list, she indicated that she wanted a car in good working order with heavy-duty steering and brakes, strong windows and locks, air conditioning and computer route control. She cut out a picture of the type of car she was looking for and kept it in her wallet. 9. Imagine what you want to happen

You can increase the power of your prayer by maintaining a stable mental picture of what you want to happen. In addition, visualize a radiant light that surrounds the situation or problem. Sometimes focusing on an image can help, as Danette did. Here is another example of visualization in action.

As a group of young people were driving home after attending a spiritual seminar, their car engine began to overheat. Since none of them had money to fix the car, they decided to ask the angels for help.

Kevin, who was driving, said: “Whenever the needle crept up to the “overheat” mark, I made fiery calls to the angels ... I asked all passengers to visualize snow, crystal clear, cold mountain streams and ice around the engine. We noticed how the arrow immediately went down, indicating that the temperature had dropped to normal.”

10. Expect surprises

These questions arise in almost everyone who has ever thought about angels. Why do they answer some prayers and not others? • the time must be correct.

You can beg for years to win the lottery and not win. But you can get something unexpected in return, for example, a high-paying job that opens up new horizons for you. Perhaps the angels could not answer the request for a win because your soul needs to learn how to make a living on its own. But they answered. And just in a way that is best for you.

If you follow the steps in this booklet and still don't get an answer, consider if the angels have something to say to you. Maybe it's time to reconsider the content of your prayer and try again?
