Flexible connection to the mixer

The tightening of the union nuts must not be accompanied by a twisting of the liner. This process involves holding the crimp sleeve with pliers. When tightening the nuts, try to twist the liner a little in the opposite direction.

Fitting the mixer to the sink

After fixing the flexible line, the fixing screws and the bottom gasket are installed to seal the mixer. Having done this, you can proceed with the installation of the mixer on the sink. Twisting of the studs is carried out. Depending on the type of construction, a screwdriver or wrench... In the second case, the nuts must be locked.

The flexible pipes attached to the mixer pass through the holes in the sink. Sometimes you may find that two union nuts do not fit into the sink hole at the same time. It becomes impossible to drop two flexible pipes at once. In this case, one supply pipe is passed into the sink, and the second is connected to the mixer through the hole.

The assembly of the lower fixture of the mixer is in progress. If the mixer is mounted on a washbasin with thin walls, the design is complemented by a plastic base plate. The nuts located on the studs are tightened with an open-end wrench.

The nuts are tightened in such a way that the mixer is securely attached to the sink. It should not move when turning the spout or water handle. But you should not overdo it with tightening the nuts either, since you can damage the surface of the sink, rip off the nuts and threads on the studs, and deform the pressure plate.

Connecting flexible pipes to the water supply

A completely logical question immediately arises: how can a flexible hose be connected to a water pipe, when twisting the fitting can be accompanied by the simultaneous unscrewing of the hose from the mixer body? To avoid this, an inlet is used, one of the fittings of which has a left-hand thread (usually it is screwed into the mixer body).

Special attention is paid to the thread of the water pipe. If it is sliced ​​into thin or metal pipe, which will rust, a protective stainless steel tip is installed between the union nut and the thread.

Connecting the mixer to the plumbing system

The most the best solution, when, when connecting the liner to the pipe, the internal thread has a minimum length within 1.5 cm. The thread should be located on a thick wall, and screwing in the elements is carried out using a winding for sealing.

The rubber gaskets are exposed to hot water, which reduces their operational period. But this is not the only reason for their premature wear. During installation, the seals must not be turned flat or over-tightened.

When installing the mixer on the sink, there are a number of nuances that will help to carry out this work better and in a short time. In particular, it is possible to make it easier to work with a flexible hose if the hose pipes have different lengths. At installation works the fittings on the two liners will not interfere with each other, and they will pass through the hole in the sink in turn.

If a new sink was bought together with the mixer, then its fastening is carried out on a not yet fixed structure. This will make it more convenient to install the mixer. The installation of the sink will be carried out with the mixer already installed on it.

When replacing an old mixer, you may encounter the problem of its high-quality dismantling. Unscrewing the mixer may damage the water pipe since precipitated salts are often the reason for the tight "sticking" of the compounds. This problem is solved with the help of brake fluid, which is used to process the joint. After 15-20 minutes, the mixer will unscrew without any problems.

Sometimes it happens when the fixing element of the mixer has an unsuccessful design. For example, when the fastener consists of a thin pressure plate and a stud that is offset to the extreme.
