Connecting a gas cylinder in the country. Adjustment of the gas reducer by various methods. Gas pressure regulators

Hardly even one modern man can imagine his life without a stove. But there are situations when gasification of the house is impractical or impossible. The reasons are different, but the result is the same: people have to use liquefied propane in cylinders. With self-equipping a point, many questions can arise, from choosing a location for the device to connecting to a power source. Mistakes and mistakes made during the installation and connection of the gas stove to the cylinder can lead to irreversible tragic consequences.

Important! Gas equipment that will be used for cooking must be in good condition.

Materials and tools necessary for work

When connecting a gas cylinder to the stove, you will need:

  • 2 clamps;
  • fitting having a spout to connect the hose and internal thread(should be included with the gas appliance);
  • the stove is new or old, but in good condition;
  • reducer with inlet pressure 30 mbar;
  • gas cylinder made of metal-composite, polymer-composite or other special materials with a capacity of 5–50 l;
  • rubber or rubber-polymer connecting hose, which can support room temperature and does not heat up above 30 degrees;
  • sealing tape;
  • special gas key.

Important! To connect the gas model of the stove, you must use only keys with a brass or copper coating, which, upon impact, will not knock out a spark.

Jets for bottled gas

One must take into account important point: slabs originally designed to work on the main natural gas, have jets (nozzles) that are not suitable for operation on bottled propane.

The jet is similar to a bolt with a hole in the upper part through which fuel enters the burner. Bottled gas nozzles have a smaller orifice because LPG pressure is higher than that of natural fuels. Therefore, to connect such a stove to a liquefied gas cylinder, you will need to purchase and replace the entire set of jets.

  • . It is purchased at specialized points of sale, it must be designed specifically for gas. Its length must exceed the distance between the connected equipment by 150 cm, since it must not be used in a taut state.

Important! Do not use old hoses, as their integrity inner surface may be broken.

Choosing a place to install the cylinder

Before connecting the gas stove to the cylinder, you need to choose the place where the devices will be installed, since the distance between them must be at least 100 cm. The safety instructions prescribe to have a window in the room with connected gas equipment.

When using a shielded cylinder, the distance between it and the stove can be reduced to 50 cm.

  • If the gas container will be located in the same room as the kitchen appliance, it is advisable to place it in metal cabinet or make a wooden mount.
  • The cylinder can be in the pantry, located behind the wall of the kitchen. In this case, you will need to make a hole for the hose.
  • The best option in terms of security is to install the cylinder in a special metal box located on the street and locked with a padlock.

Important! You can place a balloon in an apartment only if the building has no more than 2 floors.

Sequencing

After finishing installation work you need to make sure the tightness of the connections and the safe functioning of the elements. The simplest way is to apply a high foam soap solution to the joints before supplying the propane from the tank to the stove. Problems with gas leakage in places of poor-quality fastening will manifest themselves as the appearance of soap bubbles. In this case, it is necessary to disassemble the connection in which the leak occurs, and dock the parts again.

Note! Many modern stoves must be connected to the mains. Therefore, it is necessary that the circuit comply with the parameters specified in the instructions, and the socket must be grounded.

To clearly understand how to properly connect the stove to the cylinder, the video will help. If some points remain unclear, for your own safety, you should not carry out the installation yourself, it is better to invite a gasman.

Not everyone will afford the construction of a country mansion with all amenities. Some part of the population is satisfied small areas from wooden houses where they go for the weekend. gas pipe it makes no sense to pull to the house, and it’s expensive, but connecting a gas cylinder to the stove will be most welcome. And it is inexpensive, and you can do it yourself.

Do you know what needs to be done to properly connect the cylinder to the stove? If not, then after reading this article to the end, it will not be difficult for you to connect yourself.

What you need to connect

  • Gas stove. It must not be quite old. Be sure to check the integrity of the connections and burners.
  • Gas reducer (30 mbar). Experts consider the most reliable gearboxes with threaded connections and brass nuts.
  • Gas hose. It should be 1.5 meters longer. For example, if there are 5 meters from the installation site of the stove to the cylinder, then you will need 6.5 m, this is necessary so that the hose is not connected in a taut state, so it can crack faster.

  • Fittings and collars for connections. This will be needed if you decide to use an old stove; with new models, such adapters are already provided in the kit.
  • The tool must be copper-plated or brass-plated. Safety rules provide for working with gas connections only with such keys; they do not give a spark in case of accidental breakdowns.
  • Linen or fum tape is needed as an additional sealing material.
  • Soap solution.

A hose for connection must be used a special gas. When buying in a store, explain this to the seller. In no case should you use the old hose that was in your basement, even with good appearance there may be internal cracks in it and the consequences will be deplorable.

Work procedure

We will proceed from the fact that the stove in the kitchen is already installed. The gas cylinder must be placed in another room or at least 1 meter away from the stove. The place for the cylinder must be clean and prepared. Build a special mount from wooden slats.

If a shielded cylinder is used, the distance can be reduced to 0.5 m.

Plate connection

First you need to connect the hose to the stove. This is a completely safe job. We wind it on the hose of the stove, tighten it with a clamp and, having screwed the fum-tape onto the inlet fitting of the stove, wrap it up to the stop.

Cylinder connection

First you need to install a reducer on the cylinder. It is screwed onto a special adapter with the accompanying winding of the fum tape.

The entire connection process must take place with a thorough inspection of each detail:

  1. There must be no contamination on the reducer and the cylinder, especially at the place of the threaded connections.
  2. The hose deserves special attention. In addition to the appropriate length, it should be free of cracks and constrictions, and should not be twisted. It is also better to replace it after the expiration date.
  3. The clamps should not be rusty during operation, this can lead to their rupture. When corrosion occurs, it is better to immediately replace them or purchase specialized ones with anti-corrosion treatment.

When you have finished all the work, you need to check the integrity of the connections. Carefully open the gas cylinder valve. You will hear a characteristic hiss. This means that the gearbox is working properly, and gas has begun to flow into the stove.

Then you need to dilute a little soap with water, it is advisable to add more soap so that the foam is thick. With a soft sponge, foam and apply to each connection, if small bubbles appear, this indicates that the connection is not reliable and needs to be tightened.

If there are no shortcomings, then you did everything right and you can turn on the stove and cook.

The propane-butane mixture is heavier than oxygen and, according to the laws of physics, it is able to accumulate in closed unventilated spaces. Therefore, experts do not recommend installing a gas cylinder in an underground room. It will be enough to place it in the next room.

The main safety rules are spelled out in SNiP 42-01-2002. And if you have carried out such work, then your knowledge will help readers to correctly connect the equipment.

floor types

Floor plates are convenient because of their equipment with all the necessary functions in the form of oven, grill or barbecue. Based on the size of your kitchen, you can always purchase a stove with one, two, four or six burners.

Mounting the plate to the cylinder

How is the process of installing a gas stove to a cylinder? To do this, you definitely need a gas reducer with a special outlet pressure of 30 mbar, as well as a gas hose made of rubber or a mixture of rubber and polymer and a fitting with a thread inside.

The sequence of actions is as follows:

  • The fitting must be screwed onto the inlet pipe of the stove (sometimes the fitting is included in the stove kit). This procedure is absolutely safe, and you can put it into practice with your own hands without the involvement of specialists.

  • In this case, we must not forget about the use of a gasket, fum-tape or some kind of specialized sealant, the variety of which depends on the fitting used.

  • The reducer must be connected to a gas cylinder and immediately put the gasket back on.

  • The reducer outlet must be connected to the gas hose.

It is most rational to connect several cylinders to the stove at once. This will provide themselves with gas reserves for the entire summer season.

Safety rules

A gas stove of any type is considered a technique with increased level danger, therefore, it is essential to consider all safety regulations, which include the following recommendations:

  • The walls of the room must be heat-resistant and withstand a temperature of 100 degrees;
  • The kitchen set must also be heat-resistant and able to withstand temperatures up to 100 degrees;
  • The kitchen set should be installed no closer than 45 cm from the work surface;;
  • If you smell gas, turn on the light. It is necessary to immediately shut off the gas and ventilate the room. It is also important to call the emergency services;
  • Cooking utensils on a gas stove should be selected from aluminum, ceramic, cast iron or steel. You can also use Teflon utensils.

The gas stove in the country should always be clean and tidy, because such Appliances associated with cooking. The level of safety also depends on the cleanliness of the stove in the country, because the appearance of debris in the elements of the tile mechanism can lead to disastrous consequences.

The use of bottled gas requires a thorough approach to ensure safety and ease of use. We propose to consider the simplest example connecting a propane cylinder to a gas stove: a connection diagram, shut-off and control valves, organization of storage conditions.

Where to install the balloon

The main generalized requirement for the use of gas-cylinder equipment can be called ensuring the safety of people. For this reason, gas cylinders are not recommended to be installed in habitable rooms and technical rooms connected with a residential building directly or through ventilation.

A distinctive feature of propane gas is its high density. Bottled gas is heavier than air and can accumulate in the lower floors of buildings. Therefore, it is strictly not allowed to install cylinders in the underground or technical rooms below ground level. If in the usual case small leaks do not pose a danger due to constant air exchange, then in the lowlands the gas is capable of long time accumulate to explosive concentrations. It is possible to install gas cylinders in accordance with SNIP 42-01-2002 only inside buildings no higher than 2 floors, in the amount of no more than one and at a distance of 0.5 m from gas stoves and 1 m from heating appliances.

To make the installation safer and exclude unauthorized persons from accessing the gas equipment, the cylinders are placed either in a room with a separate entrance or in an outdoor metal cabinet. It is especially important when outdoor installation take account of temperature regime operation. Bottled gas consists of a mixture of propane and butane, each of which different temperature boiling. When the cylinder is cooled below 0 ° C, only propane will evaporate from the mixture, while the remaining butane in the cylinder cannot be rationally used. With more low temperatures it is possible to completely stop the flow of gas to the stove.

The main way to achieve normal operation at low temperatures is the use of so-called winter gas mixtures that can evaporate at temperatures down to -40 ° C. However, the problem is that such gas may be in short supply seasonally, and besides, the possibility of refueling a mixture of mediocre quality cannot be ruled out. There are two ways to resolve the issue with the guarantee: either insulate the attached metal cabinet, counting on the penetration of heat from the building, or additionally heat the cylinders using a self-regulating cable.

The height of the cabinet should be at least 20-30 cm higher than the height of the cylinders so that they are not installed on the floor, but with a gap, for example, on two metal slats or high pallet. In this case, the cabinet must be protected from the penetration of melt, rain water and heating from sunlight above 40 ° C.

Which gearbox to choose

Gas stoves have built-in jets designed for a constant gas pressure, while the pressure in the cylinder decreases with consumption. To normalize combustion, the cylinder is connected to the stove not directly, but through a gearbox. Reducers for liquefied domestic gas are called propane and, as a rule, have a red or metallic color corps.

The main characteristics of the reducer are the outlet pressure and throughput- must be selected according to the parameters of a single plate. If it is not possible to set the passport pressure value, you should purchase an adjustable type reducer and manually adjust it. Also, adjustable reducers are directly shown when using cylinders with a capacity of 20 liters or more, where the pressure drop is more pronounced.

Reducers are recommended for domestic propane applications reverse principle actions. Due to the low pressure values of liquefied gas and the low difference between the inlet and outlet, the use of multistage gearboxes is not economically justified. The only requirement is to use the reducers specified in their technical standard in conjunction with composite cylinders.

A separate nuance in the choice of the gearbox may be the temperature regime of operation of the cylinders. The fact is that during the evaporation of liquid gas, an intensive decrease in its temperature is observed. So, if initially the propane-butane mixture is at a temperature of -5 ... -10 ° C, in the gearbox itself its temperature can drop to the level of condensation, due to which the gas becomes liquid again, and the gearbox stops working. One way out of such a specific situation is to use gearboxes with a built-in heating system.

What hoses and tubes to use for connections

According to the rules for the safe operation of gas equipment, it is not allowed to use oxygen and hydraulic hoses for laying gas pipelines. This is due to the high temperature difference between the transported gas and external environment, which leads to accelerated degradation of the hose material and the appearance of microscopic leaks. With the properties of liquefied gas to accumulate in rooms, such phenomena pose an increased danger.

There are three options for connecting a gas cylinder to a stove. The first is to use special flexible rubber hoses for flammable hydrocarbons. In this case, they are connected to the gearbox through a standard fitting with a screw clamp. The same fitting is installed on the inlet pipe of the gas stove, the hose is also connected to it with a clamp. If it is necessary to connect two pieces of hose, it is not allowed to use double-sided fittings, instead of them, threaded connectors with double crimping of the shank with clamps should be used. Distinctive feature such connections for gas pipelines are conical threads and the absence of elastic seals.

Connecting the plate to the cylinder using flexible hoses has a number of limitations. The length of the hose must not exceed 150 cm, its gasket must remain visible to constantly monitor the condition of the sheath and avoid damage. Some of the restrictions can be partially circumvented by using metal bellows hoses. They form a semi-rigid frame, which can have an almost unlimited length, while maintaining resistance to temperature effects and mechanical damage.

At the same time, safety rules prohibit the passage of flexible and semi-flexible ducts through walls where their condition cannot be visually assessed. Link if necessary cooker with a cylinder installed outdoors, into the hole in the wall should be on cement mortar case from steel pipe. Inside the case is a steel tube of smaller diameter with threads at both ends, the space between the walls is filled with a plastic sealant, for example, mounting foam or silicone. The connection of bellows or flexible hoses must only be carried out through threaded adapters of the appropriate type.

Cranes and other fittings

A gas cock must be installed at the point where the gas pipeline is connected to the stove, blocking the gas supply in the event of a stove failure. It can be either a ball valve with a yellow handwheel or a plug gas valve. The disadvantage of the latter is the need for periodic maintenance.

Other useful addition for the gas pipeline can serve as a flow meter. Its inclusion in the transportation chain will help to respond in a timely manner to the exhaustion of the mixture in the cylinder and replace it. The metering device should not have the outstanding accuracy required to control gas consumption in main networks, a device worth up to 2 thousand rubles will be enough.

When connecting several cylinders at the same time, a connecting ramp can be used. Its installation helps to reduce the rate of gas evaporation from each cylinder and make the risk of freezing of the mixture in the reducer less likely. The installation of the ramp can be done independently with any material for the manufacture of the gas pipeline.

Refinement of the stove for bottled gas

Not every stove can initially run on liquefied gas. The main obstacle is higher operating pressure, due to which there is a lack of oxygen in the burners, which is expressed in yellow combustion and the appearance of soot.

You can correct the situation by replacing the jets for methane with nozzles for LPG. They have exactly the same form factor, but the hole diameter is slightly smaller. If you plan to connect a new stove, it should most likely come with a set of jets for liquefied gas. If replacement jets are not available, they can be purchased at a reasonable price.

The diameter of the holes in the jets for liquefied gas depends on the pressure in the outgoing chamber of the reducer and the power of the burner. Thus, diameters of 0.43-0.6 mm for a pressure of 50 mbar and 0.5-0.75 for a pressure of 30 mbar are considered standard values for liquefied gas stoves. Individual board manufacturers can install eigenvalues diameters, and the use of nozzles with different orifice diameters may void the warranty.

Replacing jets can be done in two ways, depending on the design of the plate. In the simplest version, it is enough to remove the burner body and look inside the seat sleeve. If a jet is visible at the bottom - a hex head with a hole in the center - it is unscrewed with a socket wrench by 7 or 8 mm and the nozzle is screwed in for replacement. If a cone with a hole is visible inside, you will have to remove the top panel by unscrewing a few bolts on the sides with different sides. The jet itself in this version of the design does not get out, it is pressed into the stuffing box seals. It is necessary to unclench the mustache of the compression coupling, move the nozzle down along with the inlet pipe, and then pull the jet from the landing fitting and install a new one.

Commissioning of the plant

The entire installation of the gas pipeline is carried out without connecting it to the cylinder. When the tubes or hoses are connected to the plate and interconnected, the reducer nut is screwed onto the cylinder valve and tightened. Then, if a flexible hose is used, it is put on the fitting and crimped with a clamp. If bellows tubes are selected, the nipple must be unscrewed from the gearbox housing and screwed into it with a threaded adapter of the appropriate size.

When the unit is assembled, you need to open the valve on the cylinder and, by turning the reducer regulator, set the required outlet pressure. When the gas has entered the pipe and hose system, each connection is thickly coated with soapy foam and checked for leaks. After the integrity of the gas pipeline is confirmed, you can open the stove tap and try to sequentially ignite the burners.

If each of them smokes or the flame burns in a color other than blue or greenish, it is necessary to reduce the pressure with a valve on the reducer. If the malfunction is typical only for some burners, then the jets for them are selected incorrectly. If the burner goes out in the minimum fire position, adjust the low flow screw on the stove tap or try to slightly increase the pressure with the reducer screw.

the main task gas reducer consists in reducing the pressure of the gas coming from the gas pipeline or cylinder to the working value and maintaining it in the specified range in automatic mode. In this case, changes in the pressure of the gas mixture entering the reducer for the gas cylinder should not have any effect on the operation of the device. Despite the clarity and conciseness of determining the mode of operation of a gas reducer, according to the principle of operation, they can be divided into two completely different types.

When passing through the fitting and the penetration of gas into the chamber high pressure there is an action to open the valve. The pressure reducing valve is pressed directly to the seat thanks to the locking spring, which thereby eliminates the possibility of gas under high pressure.

The main task of the membrane is to remove the reducing valve from the seat, which helps to reduce the gas pressure and its entry into the chamber already at the operating pressure. We can say that the membrane is subjected to two opposing forces:

  • Compression spring action required to open the valve
  • Effect of low pressure gas from the reduction chamber

When the gas pressure in the working chamber decreases, the pressure spring straightens, the valve leaves the seat and opens the way for a new portion of blue fuel. With an increase in pressure, the spring, on the contrary, compresses, pressing the valve even more tightly against the seat, which limits the flow of gas into the gearbox.

The adjusting screw makes it possible to adjust the working pressure by changing the pressure on the spring. Obviously, when it is turned out, the working pressure will decrease, and when screwed in, it will increase.

The manometer installed on the working chamber will allow you to control the pressure at any time. It should be noted that in practice the gearboxes for gas cylinders direct type have not found too wide application.

reverse type

When gas enters the working chamber from the cylinder, the valve is compressed, which prevents the flow of fuel. The feed can be adjusted with a special screw, which, when turned out, compresses the pressure spring and bends the membrane. In this case, the transfer disk is pressed against the return spring, the valve is lifted and gas enters the working chamber. Due to what is the working pressure regulated in automatic mode?

Simultaneously with the increase in pressure in the pipeline, there is an increase in pressure in the working chamber, as a result of which the membrane is straightened under the action of a compressing spring. In this case, the transmission disc is lowered, which acts on the return spring, which, in turn, presses the valve into the seat. As a result, the gas supply from the cylinder or gas pipeline to the working chamber is reduced, respectively, when the gas pressure in the pipeline decreases, a reverse reaction is triggered.

Classification depending on the scope

In general, all automatic pressure control devices can be divided into reducers for inert gases (nitrogen, argon, helium, etc.) and combustible gases (hydrogen, propane, methane, etc.). In order not to be confused, the gearboxes are equipped with different threads.

So, combustible gas reducers have a left-hand thread, and inert gases (including oxygen) have a right-hand thread.

  • Oxygen reducers are used in the production of work related to cutting, soldering and gas welding. Also used in medical facilities and scuba diving.
  • Acetylene reducers are used for cutting pipelines and gas welding. In addition, they are actively used in auto repair shops and service stations when carrying out body repairs.
  • Propane reducers are used in work related to gas welding, cutting and heating. In addition, they are used to organize high-quality gas supply from cylinders to gas stoves, as well as in construction, in particular, when installing roofing using bituminous tiles.
  • Air reducers are used to reduce air pressure in networks and various air communications; they are also in demand on submarines.

Features of using composite gas cylinders

This type of cylinder is an innovation among gas containers. Unlike their predecessors, composite cylinders have a relatively smaller mass and are more safe. In the event of an explosion of such a container, fragments are not formed at all.

Another indisputable advantage of composite gas cylinders is the absence of corrosion processes inside. Along with this, a number of increased requirements are put forward for devices operated together with composite containers.

The main task of the gas regulator when working with composite cylinders is to maintain a stable pressure at the outlet in a given range. Paired with containers this type use regulators that comply with European standard EN 12864.

An example is the A300i-A310i device, which differs from the usual RDGS 1-1.2 in the following:

  • Complete set with a nut that is wrapped without the use of great effort;
  • Longer service life of the gasket under the valve, which is at least 10 years.

The design features include the presence of a spout recessed in the outlet and a circular shoulder placed in the valve seal. These design features are aimed at creating a better sealing connection.

At the same time, gearboxes should not be confused with regulators for composite tanks, which, by creating the optimal fuel supply pressure, regulate its consumption, measured in liters per minute.

The controller can be used as universal type, and made for a specific model of a composite container. The optimal solution The purchase of a cylinder and a regulator from the same manufacturer is considered.

How to choose

One of the most common choice in this class of devices is the RDGS-1 device, the main advantages of which are affordable cost and simplicity of design. RDGS-1 is produced in Russia and Belarus, below are the main characteristics of the device:

  • Inlet pressure value 0.07 - 1.6 MPa
  • Outlet pressure value 2950 – 3300 Pa
  • Gas consumption 1.2 m3/hour
  • Weight 310 gr
  • Operating temperature range -30°С +45°С

Reducer RGDS-1

Instead of the time-tested RDGS-1 gearbox, the price of which is 150-200 rubles, you can buy more modern model. For example, the Italian device m714, which costs a little more (about 250 rubles).

Usually this reducer is supplied with a Pullover1 gas type heater, but it can also be purchased separately. The reducer is completed with a gasket made of elastic material, which has a resource of five times use. The inlet pressure m714 is in the range of 0-20 bar, and the outlet pressure is 30mbar.

Often, to connect composite cylinders to burners, a German-made GOK model worth about 500 rubles is used. However, there are also more expensive models.

So the N240 gearbox worth more than 1000 rubles has the following characteristics:

  • Inlet pressure up to 18 bar
  • Outlet pressure adjustable from 20 - 60 mbar
  • Productivity - 4 l / hour
  • Operating temperature range -20°С +50°С

Reducer N24

Among gas cutters, another type of gearboxes, called miniature, has become widespread. A bright representative of this class can be considered a gearbox general use BPO-5, basic technical specifications which are:

  • Inlet pressure up to 2.5 MPa
  • Outlet pressure value up to 0.3 MPa
  • Weight 0.65 kg

It must be remembered that the purchase and installation of a reducer for a gas cylinder is a serious and responsible step. Not only the quality of work depends on the correct choice. gas appliances but also the safety of all who will use this device.
