The material for waterproofing does not flow off vertical surfaces, thanks to the latex base, which cures almost instantly in air. Thus, the process of drying the roadway is simplified, and the time of this process is reduced.
4. Penetrating waterproofing of roads. Often, along with welded or sprayed waterproofing, waterproofing is used that penetrates the structure of the concrete base. In principle, its action is based on special components that expand and harden when exposed to water. As a rule, manufacturing companies hide the "recipe" of such formulations. Such waterproofing of roads can not only completely protect the concrete slab from moisture penetration, but also increase its strength by filling the voids that will certainly arise when concrete is poured. Due to the shortcomings of the "standard" approach in the design and construction of highways, as well as the low quality of materials and work, subsidence and destruction of the roadbed of the road occurs. Until recently, design organizations were guided by traditional road-building materials, the physical and mechanical parameters of which have not changed significantly since the 70s and 80s. The main goals and objectives of the Federal Target Program "Development of the Transport System of Russia (2010-2015)" is the development of a modern and efficient transport infrastructure that accelerates goods movement and reduces transport costs in the economy, increases the length of high-quality highways federal significance and ensuring their sustainable functioning.
During the implementation of the program, it is predicted that the length of the road network common use federal significance will increase over the period 2010-2015 by 1.99 thousand kilometers and will amount to 55.98 thousand kilometers. The length of federal public highways of the highest (I and II) categories will increase by 4.7 thousand kilometers and will amount to 30.52 thousand kilometers. The length of federal highways with a capital type of coverage will increase by 3.71 thousand kilometers and will reach 55.45 thousand kilometers.

Waterproofing of roads and airfields with geomembrane This is a technology that avoids the drainage of water between the layers of road "clothes", which prevents frost heaving of the ground when asphalt is torn from the inside of the road surface. A geomembrane is a waterproofing layer to prevent water from entering the road surface.

The geomembrane has the following operational advantages:

In road construction, it is effective to use a geomembrane (polymer sheet) as
anti-filtration layer for:
- waterproofing treatment facilities bridges and overpasses;
- waterproofing of road bases;
-reinforcement of the foundations of highways formed by soft soils;
- protection of road bases from subsidence;
-protection of road bases from uneven precipitation during construction in the 1st road-climatic zone on weak water-saturated soils (silts, peat bogs).
The problem of waterproofing roads is acute in most of Russia. Roads must be built in accordance with all technical requirements.
