Swing doors differ both in their design and in the materials from which they are made. Before proceeding to self installation doors, you need to acquire a certain theoretical base - find out design features, technological sequence and door installation rules. The block of swing doors consists of:

door frame fixed in the doorway;

Design

Panel glass can be reinforced, patterned or transparent, as well as stained glass. The exception is swing door models. They are usually supplied only transparent glasses- these are the safety rules for the operation of swing interior doors.

Installation steps

Installation of an interior swing door is carried out in compliance with the following sequence:

preparation of the wall opening;
assembly of the door frame;
insert lock and hinges;
installation of the door frame in the opening;
canvas hanging;
installation of platbands.

Installation should begin with the preparation of the wall opening. The dimensions of the opening are always slightly larger standard sizes doors, so to fix it use wooden blocks- wedges. They provide the necessary clearance for pouring mounting foam. It is possible to make a narrowing on each side by a maximum of 40 mm, otherwise the junction line of the wall with the attached element will not overlap with the casing. If the difference in the size of the opening and the door block is more than 40 mm, then you should choose door frame greater width.

It is necessary to assemble the door frame on a flat surface (preferably on the floor). Many boxes are sold ready for assembly, they already have an end cut. Parts universal kit you need to cut yourself. The end cut angle should be 45°. After cutting, the vertical structural elements are tightened with self-tapping screws with the horizontal components of the door frame, it is important here to prevent the components from moving.

For further installation, tie-in loops are required.

When performing the embedding of loops, it is important to remember that the distance between the edge of the loops and the edge door leaf should be 20 cm.

By attaching a loop and outlining it with a pencil, you can make a selection with a chisel or an electric milling tool, which is much faster and more convenient, especially if you do not have the skills to work with a chisel. In this case, a layer of wood is selected corresponding to the thickness of the hinge flag.

Now you can begin to install the hinges - by attaching the hinge, you need to mark the locations of the holes. Then holes for screws are drilled, while the diameter of the drill should not exceed 3/4 of the diameter of the screw. Only after that the loops are attached.

The next operation is the insertion of the lock. About 1 m is measured from the floor - it is at this height along technological rules there should be a lock. The installation of the lock requires special care and attention, since composite materials of varying degrees of hardness and density are often used in the construction of the frame and door leaf.

After completing all the operations, you can proceed to the installation of the door frame. In the wall opening, it is fixed with self-tapping screws. To do this, holes are drilled in the vertical elements of the door block. For reliable fastening, it is necessary to drill three holes at an equal distance from each other. Then the holes should be bored under the head of the self-tapping screw. After that, holes for plugs are marked and drilled. Then the plugs are clogged and the screws are screwed. Next, you should wedge the box with wooden wedges, leaving it with some mobility for subsequent adjustment and fitting to the dimensions of the door leaf.

The correct installation of the entire door unit is checked as follows: the door should be secured with wedges and left in a half-open position. If its spontaneous closing or opening does not occur, then the door is installed correctly, and you can proceed to the next phase of work - filling the opening mounting foam.

Before pouring, you need to firmly fix the box in the wall opening. To do this, wedges are evenly driven in, and the supporting beam of the structure is pulled up with self-tapping screws, which is adjusted according to the plumb line. At this stage of work, it is important to ensure that there is no distortion of the elements of the door block. Then the door leaf is hung on the hinges and the bearing beam is rigidly fixed along the porch.

The presence of spacers is necessary and very important point, without them, the mounting foam can deform the box when it dries.

As a result, an integral structure is formed, which has a uniform gap along the perimeter between the wall and the door frame. Next, the canvas is removed again, and spacers are installed in the opening.

This is followed by filling the space between the wall and the door frame with foam. When the foam dries (drying time is indicated on the package), its remnants are carefully cut off. The final touch remains - the installation of platbands.

Having applied the trim to the installation site, it should be noted the cut line along which the excess part is sawn off at an angle of 45 °. The technology requires first to install the left casing, and then the right one. Platbands are fixed with self-tapping screws. When all door installation operations are completed, if necessary, all structural elements can be protected from moisture. For this, a silicone sealant is used. This completes the installation of swing doors.

Installation of double interior doors may be needed both in apartments and cottages. Two doors look beautiful at the entrance to the living room. Installation of a door with two canvases is somewhat different from models with one. Step-by-step installation of a swing structure

Do-it-yourself installation of double-leaf interior doors takes place in several stages. Installation can be carried out by anyone if he carefully follows the instructions and listens to the advice of the builders.

Dismantling the old door

First of all, it is necessary to dismantle the old box with the canvas, if it is in the aisle. To do this, you need a mount, a hammer, a chisel, a hacksaw for wood.

Procedure:

The first step is to remove the old canvas from the hinges. If the door is new, the opening mechanisms will be fixed with self-tapping screws. They need to be unscrewed with a screwdriver or screwdriver. Old canvases are removed with a mount. To do this, you need to make a lever so that one end of the tool is under the canvas, and the other is at the top. You need to slowly press on upper part pry bars so that the canvas goes up and off the hinges.
After removing the canvas, you need to tear off the platbands and extensions. To do this, you need a chisel and a hammer. With a chisel, you need to pick up the edge of the wooden plank and hammer it under the casing with hammer blows. Pull on the handle of the chisel so that the wooden plank comes off. Plastic platbands are removed with a knife or a sharp blade.
When the platbands, extensions and canvas are removed, you need to dismantle the box. With a hacksaw on a tree, you need to cut the right or left slope. Move the sawn parts to the sides and pull out the fasteners with a pry bar.

When the box with the canvas is dismantled, it is required to check the working surfaces for defects. Fragile parts must be knocked down with a hammer, moving parts must be removed. Check the perimeter of the passage with a building level. If there are height differences, then they need to be leveled using putty. Further work can be carried out only after obtaining even surfaces and identical diagonals.

Important! We must not forget about the technological gap that must be present between the box and the walls. Its size is 2-3 cm.

Assembling the door frame

IN construction stores can be purchased ready-made kits for assembly door system. It includes parts of the box, sashes, extensions and platbands. In addition to this, there are fasteners, documentation and instructions.

First of all, it is necessary to transfer the height of the door leaf to the details of the box. When marking, it is required to take into account the angle of 45 degrees. To create it, you need to use a miter saw. In its absence, you can use a miter box and a hacksaw for metal. Separate parts of the frame must be connected with self-tapping screws.

Installation of hinges on interior doors

To install the hinges, you need to cut the grooves. Opening elements must be attached to the end of the canvas 20 cm below its beginning. Next - circle the loop with a pencil. Repeat the same at the bottom of the door. To a certain depth (depending on the size of the loops), grooves are selected in the web. This can be done using a chisel or a manual milling machine.

When the grooves are ready, you need to mark the holes for fastening the screws on the box and canvas. The groove must also be made on the box. Hinges are installed on the slopes, and a crossbar is installed on the canvas.

Installation of the box in the doorway

After preparing the opening, fastening the box and fixing the opening mechanisms, it is required to mount the box in the opening. To do this, it must be lifted and inserted into the passage. With help building level slopes are exposed.

Necessary adjustments

Now you know how to properly install interior double doors. After installation, you need to check how they close and open. If extraneous sounds are heard or the canvases cling to each other, an adjustment is required. First of all, you need to lubricate the moving parts with engine oil. Fasteners (self-tapping screws, anchors) need to be sunk deeper so that the canvas does not touch them when closing. Extraneous sounds should disappear.

If there are problems with closing (the canvas clings or is unevenly located), the hinges need to be adjusted. The new opening mechanisms have holes for the hex. With this key, you can change the position of the sash horizontally and vertically.

Features of the installation of a sliding structure

For double doors, the "coupe" option is often used. Sliding designs allow you to save space in the room and look beautiful. The doors open into different sides- look more interesting than the usual swing canvases.

The assembly and installation of compartment doors is completely different from the previous version. First of all, you need to buy canvases and an opening mechanism.

Installation steps:

First, a false box is installed on the doorway.
It is necessary to fix the guide rails along which the canvases will move.
Rollers are fixed to the upper ends of the doors, with the help of which movement will occur.
Before hanging the canvases on the guide rails, it is necessary to install fittings on them. It can be a lock or handles for convenience.
After installing the fittings, you can fix the rollers in the grooves located on the guide rails.
It is necessary to fix the travel limiters. They are installed at both ends that guide the rail and prevent the web from falling out of the grooves. To prevent the doors from staggering when moving, it is required to fix the flag roller on the floor.

Adjustment

Interior swing doors are not as difficult to install as it might seem at first glance. To independently carry out the installation, you need to properly prepare the passage, take measurements and follow the proposed procedure. Interior doors, as a rule, are installed at the final stage of all finishing works, when flooring The walls and ceiling have already been laid and completely finished. There are special requirements for the quality of door installation, and in this article they are considered on specific example — installation of an interior swing wooden double door with a glass panel.

In the apartment it was necessary to install a hinged interior door - a double-leaf. The door leaf consists of stacked pine bars, on top of which an MDF sheet is glued, and then oak veneer, painted acrylic paint into white. The panels of the double-leaf door are made of frosted glass with a thickness of 4 mm. Installation was carried out by specialists of the door manufacturer.

First of all, they checked whether the dimensions of each opening correspond to those specified in the technical documentation, which was agreed with the customer at the measurement stage when ordering products. The requirements for the geometry of the opening are very high, because when installing the door, only minor errors in its thickness, wall evenness or size can be eliminated due to the actual door block.

For example, if the thickness of the wall turns out to be slightly more or less than the thickness of the box, trims are cut. However, in this way it is possible to compensate for a deviation of up to a maximum of 15 mm in total on both sides of the vertical element of the box. In this case, the dimensions of the openings almost completely corresponded to the agreed ones, and the installers set to work.

We started by fixing the hinges on the box and the canvas of each door. The hinges were installed in grooves made using the shape of the hinges. The milling cutter leaves the edges of the groove rounded, so the right angles necessary for the loops were chosen using a chisel. door block — white color, and so that the cut parts were not visible from the room, they were covered with the same paint with which the block was painted during manufacture in the workshop.

By the way, do not forget that the doors covered with white paint on acrylic base may turn yellow if the room is regularly smoked.

After the paint had dried, loops were attached (two per canvas). Each was fixed with eight screws: four to the canvas and four to the box. Holes for fasteners were pre-drilled with a drill, using a drill with a smaller diameter than self-tapping screws, in order to prevent chipping of wood when screwing them in. Groove for locking mechanism performed as follows: first, a drill with feather drills made a series of holes to the depth of the castle, then, in order to avoid chips, they processed the edges of the groove with a chisel, after which milling machine gave it its final form.

	Before fastening the door hinges, holes were drilled in the canvas to avoid possible chipping of the wood when tightening the self-tapping screws.

Next, I drilled holes for the handle and latch. The handle was fixed to the canvas with three self-tapping screws, and so that its back was parallel to the horizon line or slightly raised at an angle above it, but in no case lowered - it would look ugly.

Then we started assembling the box and fitting it to the dimensions of the opening. The details of the box were fastened together with self-tapping screws, moreover, the horizontal element rests on the vertical ones thanks to the recesses in the latter. The vertical posts were slightly shortened to provide the required gap between the door leaf and the floor - 10 mm.

Mounting foam may be sufficient to fix the box in the opening. Now very often when installing doors, this option is used. But if there is a danger of the box warping (the opening is wide, and the box is thin) and everything needs to be done reliably, then it is additionally fixed to the opening with self-tapping screws: they will not be noticeable, as they are installed under the hinge. Therefore, it is still advisable to fix the box with screws and not listen to “modern” installers, because you can use the door and it is on you that the door can fall with the whole box that the foam did not hold.

During installation, the boxes were first leveled and fixed with wooden bars in the opening of its corners (horizontal element), then they also set up and fixed the racks. The alignment of the box was carried out by shifting the lower parts of the vertical supports towards the canvas or opening. At the same time, they achieved a vestibule (adherence of the canvas to the box) with minimum clearances around the door.

When installing a double-leaf door, the alignment process was more difficult, since it was also necessary to set one leaf relative to the other. The box was rigidly fixed in the opening with self-tapping screws and mounting foam. For reliable fastening of the box, it is necessary that the distance between it and the opening is from 1 to 2 cm. If the gap is larger, then the foam layer will be thicker, and therefore it will take longer to dry.

Since the walls in the room were already covered with wallpaper, strips of masking tape were glued to the wall along the perimeter of the box to prevent the foam from sticking to the wallpaper. Please note: the use of ordinary transparent (or white) clerical tape is unacceptable due to significant adhesion to the base, and when it is removed, the finish coating of the walls (wallpaper, paint, etc.) can be partially torn off. Moreover, the adhesive tape must be removed after a maximum of an hour, when the foam has slightly hardened, so that it does not tightly stick to the surface.

To speed up the installation, a quick-drying one was used, which completely hardens in 12 hours (for ordinary foam, this period is about a day). When applied, the foam must necessarily go slightly outside the box, which ensures its adhesion over the entire area. After complete drying of the foam, its excess was cut off with a knife.

	So that fresh foam does not stick to new wallpaper, they glued masking tape, which after hardening and cutting the foam is removed

As a rule, wooden bars, with which the box is fixed to the opening during alignment, are partially dismantled after the foam has hardened (those that are on top of the horizontal element), and partially left (installed on the sides of the vertical racks), cutting off their protruding parts with a hacksaw. They did so in this case as well.

Platbands made of solid oak, painted in the color of the door, were attached to the wall with a colorless silicone sealant, and to the box with galvanized nails (at least 3 pieces for the longitudinal parts and 2 pieces for the transverse). The joints of the planks were also smeared with sealant. The nails were deepened with a finisher so that their heads were inside the casing at a distance of 0.5 mm from the surface. The holes were then filled with sealant and painted over with paint to match the door.

Note that in the case of perfectly even architraves, it is possible to fasten them to the box with thin (0.6 mm in diameter) and almost no holes leaving 3 cm long studs.

The double door has glass panels that were installed at the facility. Each panel was sandwiched in the canvas between two wooden frames. The first of them is fixed on the canvas in the workshop. A colorless silicone sealant and tightly pressed the glass to it. Then they smeared the crosshairs of the second frame with sealant and also pressed the glass with it. After that, it was fixed around the perimeter with thin nails, sinking the hats, smearing the recesses with sealant and painting.

Preparatory work

The installation of double-leaf doors begins with the preparation of a place for the installation of a new design. There are several ways to make a door frame. If necessary, it can be bought ready-made. The width of the box is equal to the width of the wall. When buying a hinge, you need to consider in which direction the double-leaf interior doors will open.

Initially dismantled old door with loops. The box is removed in the next step. This will require a crowbar, hammer, screws, tape measure, level, saw. The mount unfastens the box. The opening is cleared of cement. In some cases, it will be necessary to remove the previous foam.

Installation of the box begins with its assembly. This design is presented in the form of a frame of bars of the following types:

The box is adjusted to the dimensions of the main structure. The width of the opening required for the structure to be mounted is calculated using the following formula:

Box timber must be cut at an angle of 45 °. To do this, use a hacksaw with fine teeth. Then the hinges are cut into the vertical part of the door and the first structure. Loops are installed in cuts. If overhead loops are used, then the plunge is not done.

The assembly of this design begins with the attachment of parts to each other and their twisting with self-tapping screws. Initially, you will need to make a hole with a diameter smaller than that of the screwed element. This will prevent cracking during installation work.

The loop is installed in the next step. This element must be between the box and the interior door. The number of loops depends on the weight and size door structure. Professional furniture makers recommend installing 3 hinges.

Options for opening double doors.

The markup is made from above, making an indent from the edge of 25 cm. 50 cm retreat from the resulting mark. From the bottom of the floor you need to measure 25 cm up (to determine the location of the third loop). Interior doors are placed on edge. Initially, markings are made for the vertical installation of loops. Then the door is inserted into the box. The gap between the door and the upper beam should be no more than 4 mm. The door is pulled out, the grooves are cut out. The structure is installed back so that the loop crashes into the corresponding box. Box and opening of the structure

The double-leaf door frame can be installed at the same time as the main product. Initially, the surface is protected with paper or tape. This will allow you to quickly clean up in the future construction foam. The box must be installed vertically. To do this, use a plumb line or level. First, insert the rack with loops and the top crossbar. Then the structural elements are subjected to bursting. Racks must be vertical.

The second rack is installed in a similar way. If the walls of the building are crooked, then the box will need to be adjusted with linings. Side 2 racks are drilled through. The block is fixed to the wall with self-tapping screws. You can install the box in the opening using liquid nails. Glue is applied to the tree. The frame is installed with spacers. Solid wood doors are made from a single piece of material and decorated with overlays. They can be wooden or made from MDF.

In order to install swing or sliding doors to the hall with your own hands, you will need:

Swing structure installation

Installing a double swing door to the hall is in many ways similar to this process for conventional single-leaf structures.

It is divided into the following stages:

Installation of the box in the opening.
Fitting cutout.
Hanging the canvas on the loops.
Platband fastening.

Do-it-yourself installation of the box in the opening is the most important part of the work. Not only the whole further process installation, but also how the door will eventually function. The box is fixed in the opening with wedges. They are used in pairs. With the help of the level, it is checked how smoothly the installation is done. After installation, the box is attached to the slope with anchor bolts.

To insert a handle and a striker under the lock, both canvases are marked out, holes are cut out, after which the elements themselves are installed. It is more convenient to carry out this process before hanging the hinges, although it can be done after the product is installed in place. A latch is attached to one of the doors so that it can be fixed during operation.

Hinge fasteners are mounted on self-tapping screws at a distance of 20 cm from the edge of the door. With the help of a chisel, small indentations are cut under them in the canvas of the box. To do this, the bar is applied to the right place, circled with a pencil and so much material is selected with a chisel so that the bar is recessed into the canvas flush with its plane. For self-tapping screws, it is recommended to pre-make holes with a drill to avoid cracking the canvas. The hinge strips are attached to the box in the same way.

Before installing the canvas on the hinges, they must be lubricated with machine oil or special grease. After hanging the canvases, make sure that they open and close freely. The gaps between them and the box should not be very large. A counter hole for the latch is drilled in the horizontal element of the box. The installation process ends with the fastening of the platbands and the sill. They will close the mounting seams and give the door a complete look. Do not forget to check the operation of all mechanisms for the absence of friction, creaking and other defects.

Installation of a sliding structure

The installation of interior compartment doors is fundamentally different from the installation of swing products. Before starting the process, you need to prepare the opening, determine its dimensions, buy sliding doors and accessories. After everything preparatory work completed, you can proceed directly to the installation.

It is divided into the following steps:

Installation of a false box in the opening
Installing the profile and guides
Hanging compartment doors
Fastening of platbands and false panels.

Installing sliding structures with your own hands in the hall, you can finish the opening different ways: plaster and paint or wallpaper, lay tiles, mount a decorative false box. Consider the method of mounting a product with a false box. It is assembled from planks, the width and height of which depend on the size of the opening and the fabric of the product. The false box is installed in the opening. For fixation, apply wooden wedges. Installation quality control is carried out by level and plumb.

The movement of the interior doors of the compartment will take place along the guide attached to the beam. Before hanging the canvas, rollers are installed on its upper end at both ends, which will ensure the movement of the system. Attached for easy opening and closing doorhandle. The rollers and the door are mounted in the guide. Be sure to adjust the levels and gaps. The beam itself is attached to the wall, and to its lower part - the guide rail. Along its edges, limiters of the course of the product are installed. At the bottom end of the leaf there is a transverse groove for a flag roller, which will protect the compartment door from transverse vibrations. The flag roller is attached to the floor.

The gap between the box and the opening is filled with mounting foam. After assembling and adjusting the compartment door, the mounting bar and the guide with rollers are hidden with the help of a bezel. It is made in the color of the door leaf. After the foam dries, the platbands are attached. So that the sliding doors are not visible when opened, you can make a drywall box with your own hands on both sides of the opening. But at the same time, the usable area will be reduced due to the dimensions of the box.
