Plaster "fur coat" in the decor of the premises: features of the coating (22 photos). Decorative plaster Fur coat: manufacturing technique and modern materials

Put on the facade "Fur coat" from plaster mix many owners of private houses are not averse. The reason is that this finish looks impressive and presentable, but its production does not take as much time as others. facade cladding... Plaster Fur coat can be applied different ways, and our article will tell you how to do it correctly.

You can make the surface of the walls "like a fur coat" no worse than a master, the main thing is to know the basic principles of work

This decoration of the house got its name for the similarity with the inner surface of sheepskin coats. It is believed that the method of plastering houses "under a fur coat" came to us from the mountainous regions of Moldova and Ukraine, but today this method has gained great popularity, both among the owners of expensive houses and among the owners of modest suburban buildings. What is the reason for such a demand?

A spectacular finish that big list advantages is very low cost... The costs of making it are so small, and the methods of obtaining beautiful walls are so simple that you cease to be surprised at the desire to do all the work yourself in order to save even more. Pay attention to the cost of finishing works shown in the table. Calculations are given for 1 sq. M., Which is eventually collected in a round sum.

The cost of plastering the surface "under a fur coat" in one of the finishing firms

Previously, the trim, which we now call a fur coat, was made from a mixture of cement and sand. Moreover, the more diverse the sand, the more effective the decorative "fur coat". By by and large, today nothing has changed - you can take any more or less rough plaster mixture and apply it to the wall in the form of a fur coat. The main thing here is not the quality of the mixture, but the method of its application. But for a better and more lasting effect, we advise you not to skimp, but to use good building plasters from well-known manufacturers, because you are already going to save money on refusing a team of finishers.

Advantages and disadvantages of coating

  1. The most important advantage, as we have already noted, is the cheapness of the material. You can purchase any dry mix for masonry and make an exclusive facade from it. Special decorative compositions are also not expensive.
  2. Ease of work that anyone can master, regardless of gender and age. The technology requires neither special knowledge, nor physical strength, nor special skills.
  3. The plaster is applied in a fairly thick layer, and therefore perfectly protects the facade from wind and precipitation.
  4. The plaster layer provides a certain percentage of sound insulation.
  5. The material is 100% environmentally friendly.
  6. The mixture has zero flammability.
  7. When applied correctly, it does not crack or fall off for a long time.
  8. Doesn't require complicated preparatory work.
  9. It is the only decorative plaster that can be painted as you like: add paint to ready solution or paint the wall.
  10. With minimal effort, you get an attractive appearance.

The disadvantages of "fur coat" cover include:

  1. The need to sometimes clean or rinse the facade from dust, as due to the structure of the surface, dust settles on it too well.
  2. The thermal conductivity of the finish is comparable to that of conventional plaster coatings.

There is an opinion that such a coating is outdated, but looking at the high-quality walls of expensive houses, I do not want to call this plaster finish"Yesterday"

Manufacturers and prices of quality decorative plaster mixes

Despite the claim that a “fur coat” finish can be made from a mixture of cement and sand, you still want to purchase ready-made plaster. This is the right decision, because its quality also depends on what material will be chosen for finishing. Today on the market of construction and finishing materials you can find many formulations from a wide variety of manufacturers.

Any professional finisher will tell you that you should always trust trusted brands, which means buying a knowingly high-quality product. To put on a "fur coat" at home, we recommend paying attention to several well-known manufacturers of facade materials, whose products have long proven themselves in business:

Facade finishing

Preparatory work for applying plaster to the facade

Surface preparation

Needs to be cleaned facade walls from old finish as carefully as possible. Removes paint, tiles, and old plaster... If the facade is new and well plastered, then it is enough to dust it off and get to work.

Preparation of the solution

If you purchase a ready-made plaster suspension, you can skip this step, but usually the coat mixture is sold dry. On the package you will find instructions for preparing the solution - follow it strictly, because the beauty of the texture depends on the quality of the suspension. For mixing, use a special drill bit.

Important! Pay attention to the sequence of pouring water into the powder and the settling time.

Mixing is best done with a special drill attachment.

Primer

To cover the facade with a relief plastering pattern, careful leveling of the surface is not required, but the walls will have to be primed. This is necessary for better adhesion of the finish to the wall surface and for sealing large irregularities and cracks. Hardware stores offer a wide variety of primers on all surfaces. We recommend purchasing two types - adhesive and facade starting mixture.

Apply a thin layer of adhesive over the entire surface and leave to cure overnight. After the initial layer is completely dry, prime with starter plaster with a trowel and trowel. If the walls are too uneven, then you will have to use a level and apply a thick layer of plaster under the mesh.

A finishing coat is not required as it will be your textured finish.

Ways of applying plaster Fur coat

Per long years using this finish, people have come up with a lot of ways to apply the solution to the wall. Many of them caught on and became popular. Consider the main ones that are used today by both professional finishers and individuals.

Roller

This is the easiest way to apply the plaster mix. To obtain desired effect, it is enough just to dip the roller into a bucket of solution and "paint" the surface with it. The plaster should have the consistency of pancake dough - not runny or thick. Another option for working with a roller: throw the solution with a trowel, and then spread it over the surface with a roller. The resulting finish looks a little rough, but it has a definite plus.

If, after drying, the "fur coat" is rubbed with a trowel, then an interesting effect will be obtained - a worn coat. You can use the most common roller or buy a textured tool, it is equipped with certain holes, and the work will progress faster. In the process, change the pressure of your hand, so you can get a great drawing.

Application of the solution with a roller

With a broom and a stick

Too uncomplicated way applying plaster to the surface to obtain the desired pattern. An ordinary home "tool" is not quite suitable for this. It is better to tie regular coarse twigs into a broom, such as willow. The twigs do not have to be of the same diameter, on the contrary, this is how we get an interesting and varied different relief.

Some craftsmen use a plastic street broom that is available at hardware stores. The broom is lowered into the solution, and by tapping with a stick, the plaster is applied to the wall. When dry, you can slightly smooth the surface with a trowel, thereby adding smoothness and uniformity to the pattern.

One of the most simple ways applying plaster to the surface - using a stick and a broom

A special device for spraying solution

This method is more "automated", since the application of the solution is carried out with a special apparatus. There are brushes inside the container, which, when the handle rotates, push the suspension onto the wall. This method can be used to cover the facade evenly enough. But there is also a problem, at the moment this device has disappeared from the stores and it will have to be made independently. True, it is not difficult to make it with a round brush and a container.

Special spray tool

Using the grid

This method involves the use of a rigid metal mesh. The mesh cells can be different, so you get the relief of different sizes. The mesh is installed against the wall and a solution is thrown through it, after which the mesh screen is removed. It is recommended to insert the screen into a rigid molding and move it along the entire facade.

Mesh application

Brush and plank

This method is similar to using a broom and a stick, but even easier. To obtain a pattern, the brush is dipped into a container with a suspension, and uniform movement on the pile towards yourself. This is a uniform spray from oneself. Use a sufficiently coarse and stiff brush, otherwise the droplets will be too small.

Application by brush and plank

Spatula and trowel

The next method resembles the use of a roller, since the principle of obtaining a pattern is the same. With a spatula, the solution is pounced on the wall, and then spread over the entire surface with a trowel, applying and sharply releasing the tool. This creates a completely different relief, which is better to smooth out a little when drying.

Spatula and trowel application

With compressor and hopper

Of course, mechanized methods are not only easier, but also better, they will apply relief to the wall. In addition, the hopper adjusts the droplet size, which can create completely different beautiful drawings... This method is convenient for plastering large volumes. For example, if your house is two- or three-story, then the application hand tools will be of dubious benefit. You may not buy a compressor, but rent it from a finishing company.

Using a compressor to create a relief pattern

Painting the plaster surface for a fur coat

Some plasters are sold already painted, for example, dry mixes Diamant Knauf, but if you want to add your own creativity, then painting the "fur coat" surface is not difficult. The main thing here is to observe certain principles. The fact is that it is difficult to paint such a relief on the wall with a brush. The surface is not uniform, and in order to achieve complete staining, you will have to repeat the process several times. This situation will increase the cost of finishing by several times, and it will no longer be possible to talk about a cheap facade. On the other hand, the application of special facade paints in several layers will even more protect the facade from external negative influences. It's up to you to choose.

The easiest and most economical way to get a colored fur coat is to use a spray gun. Mechanically you will not only distribute the paint evenly over the surface of the textured plaster, but also save on material. It is not necessary to exclude the time of work - with a spray gun, painting will be faster and easier several times.

Video tips for applying textured plaster to the facade of a building

In our video material, you can visually study how to apply a solution to the facade of a building in the form of a fur coat.

Plaster Fur coat is one of the most common ways to decorate and protect the facade of a house. Everyone can repeat the steps for applying the solution, and the cost of materials is low. By choosing this method of facade cladding, you save money that can be useful for other home improvement needs.

As in the case of applying other decorative finishing materials to the facade, the wall must be properly plastered before installing the "fur coat". Such an even and homogeneous base, made of cement and sand, has excellent adhesion, so the applied mortar will firmly adhere to it.

If, during the measurements of the planes of the walls, it turns out that their difference does not exceed 0.5 millimeter per square meter, beacons when plastering the facade can be omitted... Even greater deviations on the wall planes can be allowed if a "fur coat" is used, the fraction of which is 10 mm or more.

Fragmentary application of the "fur coat"

In the event that it is necessary to apply a "fur coat" on separate sites facade, thus drawing geometric figures, or to highlight the protrusions of the walls, it is recommended to initially make such elements with a plastering solution. As a rule, in such cases, the pedestal is not made, but textured plaster applied to the designated areas, preliminarily delimited by strips.

Considering that the surface of the "fur coat" has a rough texture, rough plaster can not be rubbed with a construction float. The only exception is deep corrosion. They should be removed during the alignment of the walls with the rule.

Broom and stick

The most simple method The creation of a "fur coat" on the walls of a building is one that is performed using a conventional broom and a stick. A millet broom is taken in one hand, dipped in the solution and beats against the stick, which is in the other hand. The blows are applied to the stick with the base of the broom towards the surface to be treated. If you need to get fine splashes, a stiff brush is used instead of a broom and wooden lath... To do this, it is enough to slide the bar along the bristles of the brush in the direction opposite wall... So, the spray will fall on the surface to be treated.

Application of plaster under the "fur coat" with a broom

Mesh and trowel

The texture of the fur coat applied with the mesh will differ from the previous one. For convenience, it is recommended to stretch the mesh screen on wooden frame... Such a structure must be moved along the wall, throwing the mortar onto the mesh with a trowel.

Mechanical machine

This method can be considered improved. Such a machine is nothing more than a construction of a drum made of stainless steel and equipped with blades inside. The mechanism is scrolled by a handle on the side of the drum.

After loading the solution into the drum, it is necessary to direct the structure with the outlet to the wall and turn the handle. This unit is easy to use, but requires regular thorough cleaning and washing. Otherwise frozen solution clog the blades and quickly disable the mechanism.

DIY hand-made plastering device

Compressor

Considering that such a creative process should be approached with a certain amount of imagination, you can try different methods applying facade decorative plaster to the treated surfaces. It remains to master one more mechanism that is used in this work. Here the mortar is pushed onto the wall using compressed air. This method resembles the principle of operation of the blades in a mechanical mortar application machine.

Before throwing a fur coat on the wall, you need to make sure that the base is strong enough. If this is not the case (weak plaster, non-white, Oil paint, cracks) preliminary finishing of the wall is needed: Scrape off the whitewash, beat off the weakened or destroyed plaster. Then plaster it all over again. Treat all holes, cracks, and chips.

Tips

Unusual home wall decoration

With the help of wooden bars of various widths and thickness of the future "fur coat" nailed (temporarily) to the wall, they make (form) various ornaments on the wall, whoever has enough imagination for that - there is no limit here. The simplest thing is to nail bars vertically with different widths between them (arrange the house in a kind of strip). After applying such a “fur coat” to the “cards” prepared on the wall, the house looks “tall”. If you do horizontal stripes, then the house will look squat.

You can make external wall decoration under pseudo half-timbered house, (as in Germany) which will look very expressive and impressive outwardly.

When you take out the bars from the formed "fur coat", then in the formed cavities you can insert on cement slurry or tile glue, various decorative inserts. This could be leftover trimmings. window glass, ceramic tiles, mirrors, river pebbles and much more, for which you have enough imagination. Or you can simply make a shallow notch with a solution and paint the inside.

The main thing here is not to rush, because your "artistic fantasies" will remain in your home, forever.

To begin with, you need to "sketch" the future ornament of the walls of your house on paper, or better on a computer (I use a very simple program "Visio"). At the family council, approve this project and only then proceed to its implementation, thoroughly preparing. It is very good if your children will actively participate in this process. And, you can contact a professional designer.

But if someone is limited in funds, then you can simply protect the whole house on the grid with sand-cement mortar and then "whitewash" the house with ordinary cement mortar. The cement is diluted in water and "whitewashed" or covered with good facade paint.

My mother-in-law has been doing this for 45 years with her house.

Maybe someone from more experienced craftsmen on plastering and facade works will respond to this article and share his experience and finishing method external walls at home.

And lastly, I propose and urge
Friends and like-minded people generously share their experience, add to the common piggy bank the construction of cheap, environmentally friendly and warm houses for all residents the former USSR and the planet as a whole.

Before starting finishing work, you need to plaster the wall with ordinary plaster. You need to wait until it is completely dry and prime the surface. If you want to automate your business, then you need the Terrasoft crm system.

Mortar for plastering under a fur coat

On sale in building stores there are already ready-made solutions for such plaster. But you can prepare the solution yourself. This will require white cement and sifted river sand. The ratio of sand and cement is 2x1. The consistency should be chosen depending on the desired grain size of the fur coat. The less frequent the consistency, the less graininess. Additives of gypsum or lime can be used to increase the tenacity of the solution.

Tools

To perform plastering under a fur coat, there are special devices that throw the solution onto the wall. However, this does not mean that it is impossible to make such a coating without them. There are other non-mechanized methods as well.

How to throw mortar on the wall

You can throw the mortar on the wall using a birch broom, hitting it on a stick. You need to throw the solution on top, make sure that there are no influxes. It is necessary to cover the solution in 2-3 layers. You can't wait for the first layer to dry in order to throw on the second. In this case, the solution will fall off. It is necessary to apply the solution evenly until the grout disappears. It is necessary to achieve a solid color.

Color and pattern

The solution can be prepared with the addition of dye. Shades are different. On a fresh fur coat, you can draw patterns with a narrow spatula. When the coat is still fresh, you can apply different patterns or patterns to the surface using a narrow spatula. After the fur coat is completely dry, you can paint it with paints.

Characteristics

Exterior decoration of a private house - methods and solutions

Importance appearance a private house is difficult to overestimate. The first impression of the house itself and its owners depends on how well the materials are selected and how well all the work is done. The exterior decoration of the house includes work with the facade and plinth, and they are carried out after all the work with the roof has been completed. It will not be difficult to do the exterior decoration of a private house with your own hands, the main thing is to know what and how to do.

Finishing the facade of a private house

Today the market can please with a large selection of finishing materials for facades, ranging from various plasters to ventilated facades. The choice of this or that material depends purely on the personal preferences and financial capabilities of the owners of a private house.

Plaster

Facade decoration with decorative plaster

This method of decorating the facade of a house has been known for a long time and is still popular. The most widespread are cement-based plasters with various additives. With the development of technology, acrylic, silicone, insulated and various decorative plasters have appeared. When choosing one or another plaster as a material for finishing the facade, you need to make sure that it is suitable for outdoor use. Plastering the walls of the house allows you to create an even and uniform surface, which in addition will strengthen and insulate the walls of the house.

The plaster is applied to the prepared surface, which is free from dust and impregnated with a deep penetration primer. To increase the strength and durability, the plaster layer is reinforced with a mesh.

Especially popular are the "bark beetle" and "under a fur coat" plasters. The technology for applying the first is the same as for ordinary plaster. But "under a fur coat" is performed by spraying plaster on the wall through a sieve with cells of a certain size.

With your own hands

Exterior decoration of clay-straw walls - a bit of history

"Fashion" for this "fur coat" appeared in Frunze in the early seventies of the twentieth century.

This decoration under the "fur coat" does not require any further care for it for the entire service life of the house, and really resembles "dressing" at home (an analogy - like a beloved wife) in a very practical, warm and outwardly spectacular "fur coat", which will reliably guard and protect your beloved home from all weather adversities.

What is this technology:

The entire outer surface of the wall is covered with a netting, having previously secured the latter with the help of long nails driven into the wall. The netting itself is fastened to the nails with a knitting wire.

First, prepare and apply the first layer of the so-called. rough sand - cement layer in a proportion of 1 part of cement 3-4 parts of sand, level with a grid.

Next, prepare the composition for the second face layer. To do this, take (pre-sieved) marble (granite is possible) chips fraction 4-8 mm (preferably white - looks better, in my opinion). Mixed with white cement (but it is possible with gray or other color) and sand. Knead ( different ways) marble-sand-cement mortar. Further, when the first layer seizes, they begin to plaster, applying the second already front layer with a thickness of about 1 - 2 cm.

Addition! If you add broken - crushed glass (can be of different colors) of the same fraction to the above solution, then at night the walls of the house from the incident light of the lanterns will shine and shine like frost in winter. The result is an effect - a wall, as it were, covered with inium.

After the fresh external plaster has been applied, and it seizes a little, they begin the flushing procedure itself.

With the help of a fine jet from a hose, they begin to very carefully wash off a thin layer of plaster from top to bottom. Water, flowing down, thereby exposes the textured layer of marble chips.

After such finishing, the walls of the house acquire a very elegant, solid and attractive appearance. And most importantly, very practical. There is no need for annual whitewashing, repairs and painting of the house.

Such a "fur coat", and I would say a reliable "armor" for many years to keep the walls of your house from all weather adversity and protect the owners from unnecessary mastery troubles.

Attention! For inexperienced "self-sustainers - plasterers", I would advise you to pre-practice on a model (a piece of a wall, a wooden board) and so on.

Addition:
If you show a little love and imagination when applying a "fur coat", then you can achieve even more expressive exterior decoration at home, there are no restrictions here.

Decorative plaster under a fur coat is the most affordable and versatile way of facing facades. The finishing technology consists in applying a thick cement-sand layer to the wall, followed by giving it the necessary chaotic textured pattern and required volume... This method has been used for more than a dozen years.

Previously, the "fur coat" performed primarily protective and insulation functions. Today, in the presence of a huge number of available thermal insulants, the role of bulk plaster is more about providing a decorative effect.

Peculiarities

A traditional solution for applying plaster under a fur coat is a mixture of sand and cement, taken in a 1: 3 ratio and diluted with water to the desired consistency.

The sand is selected in accordance with the requirements for the formed surface: when making a rough rough "fur coat", you should take mountain or ravine sand, and to obtain a smoother texture, you should use fine-grained quartz.

Sift the sand before adding it to the solution. Lime, gypsum and clay can be used as the main binder.

Ready-made dry mixes are considered the most modern and convenient to use. acrylic base ... The material is available in white, gray and color, which allows you to purchase already ready-made composition the desired shade or paint it yourself. Coloring is done with coloring powders and pastes.

The disadvantage of self-staining is the need for strict adherence to the proportions of the dye, with a deviation from which, a difference in shade between solutions of different mixes is possible. In order to avoid problems with coloring the mixture, you can resort to the method of painting the finished surface after it has dried. Painting is carried out using moisture-resistant and light-resistant facade paints, which solve not only a decorative problem, but also perfectly cope with the elimination of small cracks.

Advantages and disadvantages

The popularity of plastering walls under a fur coat is due to a number of indisputable advantages this method finishes:

  • Low cost and wide availability materials for mortar allow you to quickly and inexpensively improve the facade and insulate the room.
  • Wide range of colors ready-made compositions and the possibility of self-coloring allows you to choose a material for every taste. The colored "fur coat" perfectly transforms the facades of houses and refreshes the interior of the premises.
  • Ease of installation makes it possible to make the facade cladding independently, without the use of expensive equipment and the involvement of specialists.

  • Excellent sound and heat insulation properties material will reliably protect the walls from freezing, and the room - from extraneous noise.
  • Aesthetic and neat appearance"Fur coats" are in no way inferior to the surface, faced with expensive facade plaster.
  • High performance of wall protection from aggressive impact external factors due to the good moisture and heat resistance of the material, as well as its ability to withstand mechanical stress. "Fur coat" is not of interest to rodents and insects, and is also not a favorable environment for the development of mold and mildew.

The disadvantages of plastering under a fur coat include the tendency of the coating to accumulate dust and small mechanical debris, as well as some obsolescence of the technology. It is noted and not very harmonious combination"Fur coats" with ultra-modern styles of facade decoration and landscape design.

Ways of forming a "fur coat"

Applying the solution to the wall can be done in several manual ways:

  • With a broom... This is the most old method cladding, which is as follows: an ordinary broom is dipped into the solution and hits a wooden stick, which is placed close to the wall. As a result of the impact, directional splashes are formed, which fly onto the wall and settle on it. The disadvantage of this method is the long installation time and the need for certain skills for uniform application of the solution. Another method of spraying is using a stiff brush and wooden block, which is dipped into the solution and sharply drawn along the stiff bristles of the brush. The method also requires experience.
  • Using a roller... The method consists in applying a thin layer of mortar to the wall and then rolling it textured roller... The method does not require plastering skills and is well suited for people who are new to facade cladding and interior decoration... After initial drying, it is recommended to treat the surface with a wet trowel, due to which the formed "fur coat" will resemble a cork texture.

  • Using a grid... A fairly relevant method, the essence of which is that a fine-mesh mesh is fixed on the wall, on top of which the solution is applied. Then the mesh is carefully removed, resulting in a classic "fur coat".
  • With a trowel and a spatula... In this case, a solution is applied to the wall with a thin layer, after which the desired structure is created with a trowel. To do this, attach the tool to the wall in such a way that it is imprinted into the solution, and then abruptly tear it off. As a result, a rather coarse texture is obtained, which is recommended to be slightly smoothed with a wet trowel after the initial setting of the composition.

There are also mechanized methods of applying mortar:

  • Compressor and hopper... Most quick method, allowing you to monitor both the uniformity of the coating and the texture of the formed "fur coat". The use of the technique allows you to independently adjust the size and shape of the drops, which provides ample opportunities to give the "fur coat" almost any structure.
  • Homemade sprinkler... The device is a container for mortar with a shaft placed in it, which is equipped with rigid wire cables, slightly fluffed at the ends. The shaft is driven by a handle. When it rotates, the mixture is captured and sprayed along the wall, and the thinner the wire, the finer the textured coating is.

Installation steps

The first step is to thoroughly prepare the surface. It is necessary to remove the old coating from the wall and eliminate large defects. Cracks and chips should be covered with a cement-sand mortar, and large protrusions and curvatures should be cut off with a grinder. After the solution has dried, the surface must be dedusted and primed.

After complete drying of the primed surface, you should start preparing the working mixture. The components should be mixed until a homogeneous creamy mass is obtained. For better mixing and shorter mixing times, it is recommended to use a construction mixer or paddle drill.

The second stage will be the formation of the draft layer. The mortar should be applied with a trowel, followed by leveling the formed layer using a rule. Then you need to apply another layer up to 10 mm thick.

The third stage is to apply the "fur coat". The way by which it is formed decorative surface, is selected individually, and depends on the technical capabilities and the desired result.

For achievement decorative effects a little crushed marble or glass, red iron ore, white asbestos or crushed coal can be added to the solution.

Fur coat facade plaster occurs quite often. Today we will get acquainted in detail with this material, find out its features and rules for applying to the surface. Also on the video in this article you can clearly see the whole process of this work and in the photo some moments.

Facade plaster coat has its positive and negative sides.

Before buying material, you should familiarize yourself with them:

Dignity This plaster has a number of advantages:
  • Well, quite a high argument, this is the price, it is quite low.
  • Do-it-yourself facade plaster fur coat is applied without problems and this reduces the cost of finishing.
  • "Fur coat" protects the facade of the building from atmospheric influences;
  • Ease of application allows the building to be clad in a short period of time;
  • By adding a certain dye to the solution, you can get a facade of any color;
  • You can get a "fur coat" of various structures by adding components of different grain sizes to the solution;
  • There is no need for preparatory work;
  • "Fur coat" does not greatly increase the weight of the structure;
  • It is economically beneficial, as it involves the use of inexpensive components.
Flaws With all its advantages, the "fur coat" has a number of disadvantages:
  • The uneven surface allows dust to collect;
  • “Fur coat” is very difficult to fit into modern design solutions;
  • Very low thermal insulation properties.

Correct material application

Application instructions are not complicated. Here you just need to be careful and properly prepare the solution.

Facade preparation

Using this technology, you can cover any surface: brick, concrete and even wood. If it is required to finish wooden surfaces, then a slightly different technology is used: before applying the "fur coat", the surface is treated with a special primer.

Volume plastering works depends on the technical condition of the surface:

  • If the wall has irregularities of no more than 2 cm, then there is no need to carry out special preparatory work, except for cleaning the surface;
  • With irregularities of more than 2 cm, the wall requires leveling, using a rough plaster with a sand-cement mortar (see);
  • If the surface is old and there are signs of destruction, then these chips and cracks should be removed. If the surface is strong enough, then notches are made on it for better adhesion to the "fur coat";
  • The same technique can be used if the wall is laid out facing brick having a glossy surface.

For this, you can use mixtures with different components. The main thing is that such a mixture is intended for outdoor use. As a last resort, you can cook it yourself.

Preparing the mixture

For plastering surfaces "under a fur coat", a sand-cement mixture is used:

  • As a rule, for the preparation of the solution, river sand and cement of the M300 or M400 brand are used, in a ratio of 3: 1.
  • First, the components are mixed dry, and then diluted with water to the required consistency: a density similar to the density of mashed potatoes is considered normal.

Attention; To find the right texture, you need to prepare a little mortar and try it on a small area. The texture can be changed by changing the density of the solution: the thicker the solution, the more pronounced the texture.

You can make the facade more interesting and attractive:

  • If you add a suitable dye to the prepared solution. The painted "fur coat" does not fade in the sun and retains its color for a long time;
  • Play with the texture of the "fur coat", if you add to the finished composition enamel paint and putty, in a 50/50 ratio;
  • Add pieces of white, colored glass or marble chips, etc. to the solution.

Facade plaster coat can be done with your own hands. It is also produced in packaged factories and there are also packaging options by firms.

Prefabricated dry mixes Generally, dry mixes are made using cement as the main binding material, and can be produced both white and colored. Moreover, they are much cheaper than ready-made plaster mixes. The method of preparation is as follows: plaster is poured into the container and water is added. After that, the mixture is mixed with construction mixer or an electric drill with a nozzle. It is very important that the mixture is mixed as much as required and that this mixture is used up in one go, covering the required area.
Ready mixes for "fur coat" Ready mixes are mixes mixed at the manufacturer's plant to the desired consistency. Ready mixes are made on the basis of acrylic, which gives them high elasticity. It has low vapor permeability, but allows you to obtain a surface that is resistant to cracking.

The technology of applying a "fur coat" to the facade

Buildings have been decorated in this way for a long time, so there are quite a lot of technologies developed for this method.

Preparatory stage

If the surface is sufficiently flat, then the preparation of such a surface is as follows:

  • Cleaning the surface from dirt, dust and small lumps of solution. To do this, you can successfully use a metal brush;
  • If the building is of considerable age, then it does not hurt to treat it with an antiseptic;
  • Obligatory surface coating with a deep-penetrating primer, which will improve the adhesion of the "fur coat" to the surface.
Rough plaster

Before, even a flat surface, it is recommended to plaster using the method of rough surface coating.
  • Spray "fur coat" on concrete or brick base, without plastering will take much longer and take more strength.
  • If the rough plaster is done neatly and there are no large influxes or sinks, then you do not need to rub it.
Applying a "fur coat" to the facade with a broom

The easiest way that does not require specific skills.
  • The essence of the method is that a wooden lath is held at a distance of 30-40 cm from the surface and is hit with a broom.
  • The broom is dipped in plaster before this. The splashes resulting from impacts fly towards the surface and form a textured pattern called a "fur coat".
  • Professionalism consists in covering the entire surface evenly, without making gaps, but making the pattern uniform.
Getting a "fur coat" through the netThis will require a fine-mesh metal mesh, which is applied to the wall, and a layer of plaster is applied on top with a trowel.
  • After applying a certain layer, the mesh is removed from the surface, and a solution with a certain pattern remains in its place.
  • The disadvantage of this technology is the complexity of joining separate fragments so that there are no gaps.
Application of a special roller

Using a special roller, you can structure the surface in such a way that it looks like a "fur coat". The technology of obtaining such a surface is that a thin layer of plaster is applied to the surface of the wall, after which it is rolled over it, after which a certain structure of the plaster layer remains. The technology is not time consuming, but it also requires professionalism.

Technical means of obtaining a "fur coat"

It is not surprising that at one time technologies were developed for obtaining such a cladding with the help of special devices, since at one time it was very popular (fur coat).

  1. This surface can be obtained with a compressor. It makes it possible to process in a short period of time, large areas, without breaking the main drawing.
  2. Machine for applying "fur coat". The plaster is applied to the surface using a rotating drum. When using such a machine, labor productivity increases significantly, but the share manual labor here is much higher than when using a compressor.

When applying plaster to the facade of a building, remember that the wall must be treated with the same mortar in one go.

Colored painting of the facade of the house "under a fur coat"

To make the "fur coat" colored (multi-colored), at the stage of preparation, a dye is added to the plaster solution.

  • Its amount should be such that the desired shade with good saturation is obtained.
  • The colored "fur coat" practically does not fade, which makes it possible to operate such a surface for a long time without repainting.

Attention: With one batch, the color will always be the same. But on repeat, there may be a different shade. After all, it is not just the dye that plays a role here, but its proportion and the volume of the sand.

Painting with a spray gun

This may be the most appropriate and effective way painting "fur coat", moreover, it is the most economical. Under the influence high pressure, the paint breaks up into tiny splashes, which cover the entire surface in an even layer.

  • Before applying paint, the surface of the "fur coat" should be cleaned and coated with a primer (see).
  • Finishing the facades of the building under the "fur coat" is a fairly affordable and relatively cheap way to give the building decorative view... The technology is not very complicated, which makes it possible to master it in a short time, and by showing imagination and adding dyes or other components to the plaster solution, you can give the building an exclusive appearance.

Attention: If you need to repaint the finished surface, then this is not so easy. Since the surface has a certain pattern formed by adhering drops of solution, then paint it the traditional way unlikely to succeed: I mean the use of a brush or roller. With a roller, you don't even need to try, but with a brush you can, but it will take a lot of paint and time.

Despite the apparent simplicity, it is necessary to apply the "fur coat" to the surface correctly. Only in this case, the surface will last a long time and will protect the facade of the building for decades.

To make the "fur coat" strong and reliable, you should adhere to some recommendations:

  • Such plaster should be applied under certain weather conditions... The ambient temperature should be within the range of + 5 ° C - + 27 ° C. In this case, it is desirable to protect the surface from direct sunlight. It is best to carry out such work on a cloudy day, but not on a rainy day;
  • It is advisable to pass all layers in one go, allowing each layer to dry out;
  • The surface must be necessarily primed;
  • To obtain different colors it is recommended to add the following dyes to the solution: red iron ore, manganese powder, white asbestos, crushed white marble, crushed cobalt glass, coal powder;
  • Do not use thick solutions. The consistency must be liquid and, at the same time, not float on the wall;
  • To get an acceptable texture, it is best to use a metal mesh or a stick with a broom.

Facade plaster coat is not expensive, but the service life is long. Also, you will not need to spend money on maintenance. So, having done all the work with your own hands, you will get a high-quality surface at a low price.
