Violation of the temperature regime of soil and air. The optimum air temperature for growing parthenocarpic varieties before their fruiting is considered to be the interval +22 .. + 24 ° in clear weather, + 20 ... + 22 ° - in cloudy weather and + 17 ° ... + 18 ° - at night. When the plants begin to enter the fruiting phase, these indicators should increase to approximately + 23 ... + 26 °, + 21 ° ... + 23 ° and + 18 ° ... + 20 °, respectively. At night, the film coating releases heat, which leads to strong cooling of the air inside the structure, and this inevitably leads to the fall of the ovaries.

Excessive number of ovaries and non-pollinated inflorescences. The most commonly grown cucumber varieties are capable of producing an average of 25 fruits during their lifetime. Exceeding this number can cause yellowing of the embryos, since there are not enough substances necessary for full growth. This problem can be avoided by timely removal of excess shoots so that new embryos do not interfere with the growth of already formed ones.

It is known that pollination is necessary for flowering plants to begin bearing fruit. The main role in this natural process is assigned to bees. If the inflorescences are not pollinated, then they begin to turn yellow and will not bear fruit, and the inflorescence will turn yellow and disappear. There are several ways to avoid the problem:

Plant self-pollinated cucumber varieties;
Self-pollination.
Underfeeding. Cucumbers are experiencing a lack of mineral fertilizers. So, with a lack of nitrogen, the whips become thin, the foliage brightens, and then turns yellow and falls off. A yellow, and then a brown stripe along the edges of the leaves indicates potassium starvation. Yellow spots on the leaf plate - a lack of calcium. The appearance of a yellow edging in the old lower leaves of cucumbers indicates a magnesium deficiency. And if young leaves turn yellow, perhaps this is a lack of copper. Dark green veins on cucumber leaves with yellow spots are characteristic signs of iron deficiency. The tips of the leaves turn yellow if the plants need zinc.

Mixtures and solutions against yellowing on cucumbers
Bordeaux mixture. For the treatment of cucumber plants in the fruiting phase, a one or two percent solution of Bordeaux liquid is usually used. Let's take a look at the entire cooking process using the example of the most popular one percent solution.

Prepare 100 grams of fresh lime, 100 grams of copper sulfate, 10 liters of water, a fine mesh sieve, two wooden tanks with a capacity of 12-15 liters, an enamel bucket with a capacity of at least 10 liters.
Put vitriol in a container and fill it with one liter of hot water.
Stir the liquid until it is smooth.
And only then pour in another 4 liters of water.
In the second tank made of wood, extinguish 100 grams of lime with a small volume of water (0.5 to 1 liter), and then add the remaining 4-4.5 liters of water to it.
Strain the resulting milk of lime through a sieve (gauze rolled in several layers, a rare cloth) into an enamel bucket.
Then, with continuous stirring, pour the solution of copper sulfate into the milk. It is impossible to mix solutions in the reverse order, because then a less stable suspension is formed, which instantly precipitates as a precipitate, does not adhere well to the leaves and therefore is less effective. Only cold solutions are allowed to be mixed.
A solution of brilliant green and whey. The solution for spraying was prepared as follows: 10 ml was added to a bucket of water. brilliant green, 2 l. whey (milk can also be used) and 50 g of urea.

Lubricate the stem of a cucumber 10 cm from the ground with iodine or brilliant green, diluted in a ratio of 1: 2 (for one part of iodine - two parts of water). This technique is especially helpful for cucumbers growing vertically. The death of the fungi that cause the disease occurs after two treatments.

Spraying with a solution of wood ash will also have a rejuvenating effect on cucumber plantings. This solution is prepared as follows: 1-2 liters of ash are diluted in three volumes of water and insisted for 2-3 hours. After that, the mixture is filtered through a fine-mesh strainer or gauze folded in 2-3 layers, and the plants are processed.


Spray cucumber leaves with onion peel broth when yellowing. For 10 liters of water, we take a container with a volume of 1 liter (as much onion peel is needed), we measure it. We transfer the husk to a bucket of 10 liters, fill it with water. Bring to a boil, remove. Close the resulting broth with a lid and let it brew for 13-14 hours. We squeeze out the husk, filter the broth. We dilute the broth with 2 liters of broth to 8 liters of water. With this solution, it is necessary to abundantly spray the leaves of the cucumbers from the inside and outside, as well as the soil.
