First, we need to get an IKEA wooden chest of drawers or its analogue from another store. We begin the alteration of the chest of drawers by sanding the frame of all the drawers, since they are usually not processed very carefully. We remove all protruding fibers and pay special attention to the edges and corners.
In order to paint the boxes in one go and put them quietly to dry, you can put them on a small object. Use regular tablet candles, then none of the painted sides touches the newspaper and you do not need to fix something later.
The front of the drawers with their cutouts is too noticeable, this is already the hallmark of these dressers. Firstly, I personally find such a handle system inconvenient. Secondly, I have always liked the boxes with tight suitable friend to friend facade panels(almost seamless). Therefore, I ordered a laser cut oak veneer (4mm) of the sizes I needed (it cost about 500r, which is quite inexpensive). I took the dimensions with a gap between the panels and with allowances on the sides. I came out 85 × 84mm, but it is worth measuring in place.
We also paint over oak panels with stain so that the entire box has the same color. Now we glue it. The box is placed on an elevation of the desired height (in this case, these are wooden rulers, 2mm) and only then the panel is glued. So under the box, when it gets into a niche, the lower gap is hidden.
On this stage it already looks so good that there was a desire not to continue and leave the drawer opening system without handles.
We wax the entire body, the facade and all the edges of the drawers.
Advice: to paint the box, it is better to go to the store and buy one tube of very high quality acrylic of the desired color (about 250 rubles). This will help save time on endless tinting (especially if there is not enough paint), on the number of layers (this box is painted in one layer), on nerves and so on. To paint the entire box in one layer, you need just one tube of acrylic (60 ml).
We put all the boxes together and attach the handles. You can also slightly patina the edges and edges of the drawers.
We make the bottom for the boxes. According to the idea, it should be upholstered. To do this, cut out a rectangle from cardboard, 2mm less than the bottom of the box and tighten it, bending the edges of the fabric to the other side. We fix all this with glue and double-sided tape, after which we install it in place.
We glue the bottom of the drawers outside with designer beige paper. To do this, you can glue it onto wallpaper glue, after dipping the paper sheet in water. This will give a perfectly even tension as the paper dries. You can do the same with PVA.
At the end, we age the paper around the perimeter with watercolor.
We do the same with the chest of drawers. I glue the Alice in Wonderland stamps in the niches in the center.
And on the bottom of the box, so that it does not scratch the table and the surfaces of the shelves, we glue a thin sheet of gray sheet.
I sign the labels in the handles of the boxes, here I took purple paper and inaccurately put stamps with numbers.

Think over the location of the picture on the sides of the box and apply a little decoupage glue to the corresponding places - then the picture will lie flat and without folds. Attach the picture (it is more convenient to use the file method) and with an almost dry brush press it more tightly to the surface, thoroughly soaking it in a layer of glue.
When the glue is completely dry, cover the surface with one layer acrylic varnish.
Aging
Use acrylic paints as a patinating compound. Mix the colors of burnt umber and ocher in a palette, dilute them with a drying agent or water.

Apply the paint with a flat brush to the surface and rub in with your fingers in a circular motion until it is completely dry. Control the amount of shade. Repeat if patina is needed. Excess can be gently wiped off with a damp cloth.
Add a light splatter of black paint.
