Fastening drywall to the wall on the knauf profile. Known Knauf technology and drywall: walls and partitions according to a new method

An important element any house is considered to be walls and partitions. Without them, it will not be possible to divide the building into separate rooms. Partitions "Knauf", which are a steel frame and plasterboard sheathing... This popularity is due to the excellent quality and affordable cost of products. All its characteristics correspond to European standards, and the installation is so simple that any person can handle it.

Dignity

Partitions "Knauf" have found their application due to their advantages:

  • ease and speed of installation (assembled element by element);
  • ease of repair (the finished wall can be quickly disassembled and moved to another place);
  • low cost;
  • lack of "wet" processes;
  • reliability and durability.

The named partitions have gained popularity among consumers due to other qualities:

  • the ability to use the structure in regions with seismic hazard;
  • high quality products;
  • the ability to lighten the building;
  • overall construction savings;
  • a variety of architectural solutions (you can build curvilinear forms);
  • the ability to obtain a structure with increased fire resistance, sound insulation, moisture resistance;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • variety can be covered with paint, wallpaper, decorative plaster).

Installation of partitions "Knauf"

As mentioned above, this system consists of plasterboard panels, internal filler and fasteners. Additionally, it can be equipped with specialized plates, which are distinguished by increased fire protection. Sheathing can be one-, two- or three-layer. In this case, drywall, hyposofiber or water panels are usually used.

As far as they are concerned, they are guides, rack-mount and load-bearing. Together they form a frame, with each element having a standard length of 3 or 4 meters.

If necessary, the profiles can be lengthened by overlapping them. They are fastened with self-tapping screws: four on each edge and two in the middle. The outer side of the guide element is covered with insulating tape. Self-tapping screws are placed on it every 300 mm (maximum step - 1000 mm). TO supporting structures partitions are fastened with dowels.

Varieties

Depending on the purpose and device, "Knauf" partitions are divided into types: W111, W112, W113, W118. The W111 system is a frame sheathed with a single layer of material on both sides. Soundproofing is placed inside it. The guides are attached to the supporting structures using dowels. After attaching the drywall, the joints between the sheets are filled with a special compound.

The W112 partition includes a frame, two sheathing layers on both sides and sound insulation between them. The structures are also fastened with dowels, however, additional fixation of the second layer of cladding is required. This has a positive effect on fire resistance and sound insulation.

The W113 structure consists of a frame and three sheathing layers (on both sides). There is a non-combustible soundproofing inside. Such a wall has serious cladding, therefore, it should be fastened after a maximum of 50 cm.

The W118 partition has the same structure as the previous design, but it is reinforced with 0.5 mm thick galvanized sheet. It is also equipped with a reinforced frame made of a profile, 0.6 mm thick. The article presents drawings of the Knauf partitions and how they are attached.

Profile types

Depending on the purpose, Knauf profiles are divided into rack, guides and arched. Rack structures have a section in the form of the letter "C" and are located vertically in the frame. The uprights are installed together with guide rails of the appropriate size. The ends of the products are equipped with two holes through which engineering communications are laid (they are hidden in the walls). They are attached to the guides with self-tapping screws, which are easily centered thanks to the longitudinal grooves.

They have a section in the form of the letter "P" without curved edges - this allows you to get a snug fit of the racks to the upper and lower elements. They are needed not only for attaching the rack parts, but also for installing jumpers between them. During manufacturing, holes are drilled in structures into which dowels are inserted during installation.

Partitions "Knauf", the technical characteristics of which are shown in the table below, can also consist of arched profiles, which serve as the basis of curved structures. They are made in different radii, and the shelves can be turned inward or outward.

Cladding options

During the installation process, structures can be sheathed different kinds drywall sheets. The cladding is attached to metal profiles and can be 1, 2 or 3 layers. This is necessary when the building is subject to deformation loads.

Ordinary gypsum board is used in rooms with normal humidity and differs from other types in gray... The composition includes protective additives that make the material "breathable". When manufactured, it is dyed green.

Special additives are added to fire-resistant sheets that are not subject to combustion. The material is different pink... Combined gypsum plasterboard combines the properties of fire-resistant and moisture resistant types... It can be recognized by its green color with red markings.

Installation technology of partitions "Knauf"

There is nothing complicated in this process, but it is important to know some rules and nuances. First you need to prepare the walls, floor and ceiling. They will need careful alignment to ensure that the guides fit smoothly. The next stage is marking, the evenness of which is checked with a level, a cord and a plumb line.

After preparing the base, proceed to the installation of the profiles:

  1. The supporting elements are installed and attached with dowels (step - 200-400 mm).
  2. They have vertical structures that are located at regular intervals (corresponds to half the width of the gypsum board).
  3. Attach them with self-tapping screws.
  4. Lay horizontal guides so that they set two identical planes of the future partition.
  5. The frame is fastened with a cross and special screws.

The result should be a frame with square cells 600x600 mm.

Warming and plasterboard sheathing

Installation of the "Knauf" partition includes the installation of a soundproof layer. Most a budget option allows you not to use Additional materials, however, if necessary, you can put a foil-based insulation or mineral wool inside the frame.

After installing the frame, laying the insulation and engineering communications you can start attaching drywall. For these purposes, special self-tapping screws are used. You should be aware that the connection of sheets can be carried out arbitrarily, however, a checkerboard pattern is preferable. Thanks to this, there will be no cracks on the structure and a stronger connection will be obtained.

Partitions "Knauf" - designs with original elements characterized by durability and high quality... Their use will make it possible to erect a small building in a short time.

Hello dear readers! Not so long ago, such a situation happened: a friend finally got his hands on an album of typical drawings from a material manufacturer. A man first learned that according to Knauf technology, drywall is sometimes mounted on profiles in two rows! He came to me for an explanation, and I said that the manufacturer offers different options so that builders can reduce the likelihood of cracks. If you do not set yourself the goal of saving on important nuances, but want to install durable construction, learn all the subtleties. Now I will help you understand them, since drywall is my favorite material.

What designs can be made of drywall using Knauf technology

Technology installation of GKL Knauf is slightly different depending on the type of partition used. O characteristic features, if there are any, let's talk separately, for each specific structure. Distinguish the following basic systems GKL Knauf.

C 111: technology with Knauf

This is the most simple construction, which is a supporting frame made of a steel profile, sheathed on both sides with gypsum plasterboard sheets, filled with an insulating material. The thickness of such a plasterboard partition is minimal and is equal to the sum of the width of the bearing profile and the thickness of the sheets of material. Such a design is rather decorative in nature, since it is not able to withstand heavy loads and can easily be destroyed by physical contact. Partitions made of gypsum plasterboard according to the Knauf s111 system are used in those places where there is no need for a high level of heat and noise insulation and the structure itself is needed, rather, for visual separation of the space.

C 112: two-layer plasterboard technology

Partitions made of gypsum plasterboard according to the Knauf s112 system are made in a similar way, their main difference is that drywall is sewn in two layers on each side. This increases the strength of the finished structure, improving it performance characteristics... More durable to mechanical stress, they, however, cannot replace full-fledged walls.

C 113: technology with three-layer plasterboard plasterboard Knauf

This variety differs from the first two in that it is sheathed with three sheets of drywall on each side. This approach is usually used where it is necessary to combine different types of GCR.

Types of GKL Knauf:

  • normal;
  • moisture resistant (wall color green);
  • fire-resistant (wall color red);
  • combined GKLVO.

They can be used in various combinations depending on the area of application. For example, the walls of corridors intended for evacuation in case of fire are sheathed with fire-resistant sheets.

C 115: reliable technology from Knauf

Plasterboard partitions "Knauf", made according to this system, represent a doubled metal frame, sheathed with a double layer of drywall sheets. This approach allows to increase the thickness of the final wall, as well as to increase its insulating characteristics by using a double layer of insulation inside. The double metal frame, in turn, makes such a wall strong enough. The Knauf ceilings made according to this technology can already be considered a full-fledged wall.

When using this technology, it is necessary to lay an insulating tape between the joints of the metal frames.

An important point is the laying of a heat-insulating tape at the junction of two metal frames, this is necessary so that the wall does not freeze, condensation does not form in it and it retains high operational properties.

C 116: multi-layer plasterboard technology

In contrast to system 115, transverse spacers made of gypsum plasterboard are used here, designed to increase the thickness of the wall and leave space inside for wiring all the necessary pipes and communications. Essentially, inside the walls, an artificial cavity is formed for technical use.

C 118: installation technologies

This type of partitions is made using technology 113 with the only difference that between the layers of drywall, the wall is sheathed with galvanized steel half a millimeter thick. Such a structure is designed to maintain its consumer properties even if an attempt is made to break it. Of course, such a wall will not withstand a grinder, but it will take time to demolish it, so the use of structure 118 in order to protect against penetration is fully justified.

C 121 and 122: how to build a partition with Knauf

The GKL Knauf partitions, made using this technology, are practically the same as the systems 111 and 112, with the only difference that here the frame is made of wood.

Knauf drywall technology: basic provisions

Important to remember. Separately, it is worth talking about the installation of all the specified gypsum board partitions using the "Tigi Knauf" technology, this method involves the arrangement of sheets of different layers overlapping each other. Or in a runaway, as they say. That is, the joints of the sheets at different levels should not intersect. Instructions for the construction of partitions using this technology indicates that the joints of plates of different levels should be at a distance of at least half a meter from each other. This applies to both vertical and horizontal joints. Observing this rule, you will greatly increase the strength of the finished structure.

Choosing "Knauf", you get not separate elements, but ready-made engineering systems.

Usage drywall systems"Knauf" means the work of a complete closed cycle, in which all materials and components are used only by this manufacturer. This approach is useful in many ways. The fact is that Knauf does not just produce various elements, this company supplies ready-made engineering systems in which everything is thought out.

Each small part individually, in its place, forms an overall monolithic result. Here's what you need to work with this technology:

  • Profiles. At "Knauf" bearing and guide profiles are made in such a way that when mounting one to the other, there are no distortions, distortions and other anomalies. The finished frame, built from the specified material, is always even, strong and reliable.
  • Filler, or insulator. It is recommended to use only mineral wool from the specified manufacturer to fill the space between the walls. It does not spread combustion, does not rot, does not support organic life forms, which means that mice in such walls will not start. In addition, such wool is made for the width of the inter-wall space and does not require additional processing.
  • The plasterboard of this manufacturer itself, which meets all European quality standards, in combination with the rest of the elements of this designer, is able to carry many years of good-quality service.
  • Rough and finishing compositions for grouting and sealing, created taking into account the composition of the cardboard and gypsum filler of this particular brand, successfully complement the drywall from this manufacturer, showing excellent adhesion properties to its surface. Thus, the finished wall with a rough finish already looks complete.
  • An insulating tape of the required width for a specific profile, as well as all hardware for work, should also be chosen from the products of the specified brand. After all, the quality of these elements has been tested and certified, as well as tested over many years of use. Don't question the quality finished wall saving on fasteners. After all, it is on it that all these components are held.

Conclusion

As you can see from the above, Knauf technology for walls and partitions made of plasterboard is a reliable and calculated engineering system, which is purchased in parts, but, being installed on site, represents a direct integration of German quality into the Russian interior.

Knauf: technology for mounting walls, partitions, plasterboard ceilings

Drywall is widely used in the construction of internal structures: additional walls, decorative partitions and openings, arches and niches, ceilings. In each of the cases, it will be necessary to install a reliable support so that the walls or ceilings are strong and serve for more than a dozen years.

One of the popular installation systems is partitions Knauf... This is a series of plasterboard structures based on a metal profile frame. At the time of manufacture, all the nuances of the technology are observed, so these complete systems do not harm general level reliability or integrity of the wall.

Drywall for Knauf technology

A specially developed series of manuals has been developed. Using them and an album of working drawings, you will effortlessly disassemble all the subtleties of the system. Each series examines in detail the nuances of technology for working with a particular component. For example, a series on partitions C111 or C112.

Ceiling mounting technology according to the Tigi Knauf system

When installing ceilings of such a plan, you should adhere to certain rules that will allow you to do the work without flaws and mistakes. These requirements have taken a lot from the standard ones, but there are also some peculiarities.

Features of using Tigi Knauf systems when installing ceilings:

  • It is not necessary to prepare the surface for installation.
  • The Tigi Knauf system is installed on a finished ceiling slab. Drywall is pre-mounted on it.
  • Tigues are installed on a frame made of wood, metal or already closed materials basis.
  • Cut the material neatly. with the use of appropriate tools for these purposes. From the outside, a chamfer is created, which is subsequently putty.
  • Plasterboard is positioned so that the seams are random. The step of fastening the seams of the material corresponds to 60 cm. This avoids cross-shaped joints, which are prohibited when working with a profile.
  • Between pieces of material, gaps of 0.5-0.7 cm are left. This approach to fixing reduces the effect of mechanical stress on the sheets, which provides protection against chips and cracks.
  • The fixing of the casing is carried out using self-tapping screws. They are located in increments of 200-300 mm. This indicator depends on the total load of the structure. In this case, it is allowed to use a mechanical, pneumatic, electric tool.

Technological map of products: drywall from Knauf

To achieve compliance with the developed technology, a typical routing, which is used for finishing. Complex systems are necessary to accurately calculate the material of the plasterboard ceiling. The map helps in the assembly of the structure.

More precisely, a typical technological map is intended for the development of projects carried out with the use of gypsum board. It is used for the correct erection of structures.

The map is considered to be a kind of handbook for craftsmen, whose specialization lies in the construction of suspended ceiling structures made of plasterboard.

The Knauf map takes into account the characteristics of materials, indicates their consumption in accordance with the dimensions of the structures being built. In addition, the order of installation is prescribed in the card.

Knauf technology when working with drywall

Knauf firmly holds the leading position in modern market building materials. The present German quality allows you to mount durable and reliable plasterboard structures- ceilings, walls, partitions and arches. The assortment includes Knauf and GKL, and all "consumables": profiles, suspensions, putties, primers. It is about the profiles that will be discussed in the next article.

What is Knauf's drywall profile? This is an element made of high quality galvanized steel intended for fixing hl in different types designs. Their classification and technical characteristics are shown in table 1.

Table 1. Varieties of Knauf metal profiles

What you need to install Knauf profiles: technology

It can be seen from the above table that there are many options for manufacturing a metal profile, depending on the features of the application as frame elements. Each type has its own installation features, so you can consider the whole process using the example of installing a false ceiling.

To begin with, you should familiarize yourself with a number of rules:

  • carry out all repair work in a dry room;
  • choose ceiling profiles for drywall from a well-known manufacturer (Knauf, for example);
  • neat markup is a must, as it will avoid gross mistakes and save material;
  • before installing the profile, you must additionally check the markup using a level;
  • before sheathing, you need to make sure the strength of the entire frame, as this will avoid "distortions".

After the design of the plasterboard ceiling has been chosen and the budget has been calculated, you can go to the building supermarket. It is advisable to purchase there:

  • laser level;
  • measuring tool;
  • drill or hammer drill;
  • scissors for metal;
  • profiles of two types (guides and ceiling);
  • suspensions;
  • dowels (anchors).

Also, to create smooth lines an auxiliary tool is needed for bending drywall and metal profiles. For example, an awl, a needle roller and special equipment for cutting metal. The arched profile will become the best solution for curly designs, since it is easier to bend it than other types.

Ceiling mounting technology when working with Knauf drywall

There are several stages of installing a frame from Knauf drywall profiles. First you need to determine the angle, which is lower in level than all the others. To do this, you need a simple measuring tool - a tape measure.

At least 5 cm recede from the selected point and mark along the perimeter of the room. All milestones are connected in a line using a paint line. According to the markings, you can already fix the guides, then the hangers, the ends of which should be bent. After that, using self-tapping screws, the ceiling profiles are mounted and the jumpers are installed. That's it, the frame is ready. You can start plating hl and finishing work.

Installation of Knauf profiles will not be a problem for neat craftsmen, but the problem of choosing a manufacturer remains relevant. The fact is that building elements from well-known companies cost a lot of money, so the average person is always looking for an alternative. Finding it is not so easy, but it is quite possible to make measurements and installation correctly. This approach can save up to 10% of your money. Are there any other ways of reasonable economy without loss of quality?

Knauf: installation technology

Using one type of Knauf product, it is rational to purchase the same brand and related materials. One of the manufacturer's concepts is material compatibility. That is, for example, Knauf drywall and fasteners of the same brand are ideal for each other.

Knauf: a manufacturer of drywall and more

It is believed that about 70% of drywall sold in Russia is produced under this brand. Knauf has been confidently leading its market for several years, and the company's factories are widely represented on Russian territory.

Knauf is an international company based on the classic principles of a family business. The manufacturer adheres to these principles, which are quite rare today, which, of course, affects the quality of the products. This company is rightfully considered the authority in the world of corporations producing building materials.

There is no doubt that the factories located on the territory of the CIS operate using exactly the same technology as in the west. The equipment at the factories is the most modern and advanced, and the quality standards are the same for, for example, a plant located in Germany, and for a Russian plant.

Knauf drywall production technology

Building sheet-gypsum boards of type A - this is how it is correct to call the familiar gypsum boards. This is a high-quality building and finishing material that is used for wall cladding, the construction of partitions, ceiling structures and products, the task of which is sound absorption and sound insulation.

Each Knauf sheet necessarily contains the following information:

  • Letter marking of the sheet type - GSP - A;
  • The type of longitudinal edges of the sheet is indicated;
  • The standard is indicated;
  • Figures that indicate the width, length and thickness of the sheet (dimensions are indicated in millimeters).

If we talk about technical characteristics, Knauf drywall is a rectangular building element consisting of two layers of special cardboard with a gypsum layer and the addition of reinforcing inclusions. The side edges of the strip are folded with cardboard edges.

The core of such a sheet is a gypsum binder under the designation G4 (GOST 125-79).

Knauf drywall sheets have:

  • A semicircular thinned edge, which is considered a good technological solution;
  • Facing cardboard, which adheres perfectly to the core, it is "organized" by the adhesive additives;
  • Cardboard is used not only as a building frame, but also as a basis for applying any finish.

By the way, the technical characteristics of the cardboard meet all the requirements for the use of this material in residential premises.

Knauf drywall size

Knauf sheets have certain dimensions, which are considered to be in millimeters.

Dimensions of plasterboard:

  • Length has a size ranging from 2000 mm to 4000 mm;
  • Thickness gypsum sheet - size 6 and a half mm, 8 mm, 9.5 mm, as well as 12.5 mm, 14 mm, 16 mm, 18 mm, 20 mm, 24 mm;
  • Width sheet - size 600-1200 mm.

A standard plasterboard sheet has a size of 2500 x 1200 x 12.5. A sheet of 3 square meters weighs 29 kg. Plasterboard is packed in packages, each of which contains 50 plates. One package is definitely enough to finish 150 square meters.

Some craftsmen alter these sizes for themselves, but there is plenty to choose the right size, so this need may not arise. Such parametric characteristics are very convenient for the customer's choice.

Acoustics

This is perforated drywall. The name speaks for itself - perforated plates are used for sound insulation and sound absorption. This is a sheet, the edges of which are cut off, and a sound-absorbing layer is glued to the back.

At the same time, the sound absorption parameters of the slabs can be different (again, there is plenty to choose from). And according to the pattern, gypsum plasterboards differ, they can be white and black.

Drywall Tigi Knauf

Tigi Knauf complete systems are another great invention of this building brand. The essence of the system is that the repair takes place without the so-called wet processes. That is, no liquid masonry, no plastering. For many craftsmen, this is a weighty argument in favor of buying products from this particular manufacturer.

The kit includes:

  • Plates themselves for cladding;
  • Material for creating a metal frame;
  • Tools for work;
  • Auxiliary devices;
  • Detailed recommendations for work.

That is, the list of items that are included in the complete system will be impressive. There are the plates themselves, and profiles, and extension cords, and connectors. Included in the complete system of suspensions, screws, anchoring elements, dowels. It is noteworthy that you will not have to spend money on reinforcing tape, putty and primer - everything is included.

What is the Knauf system, its advantages. The materials used in the kit are in accordance with GOSTs. Tips for the installation of various systems. Video examples of systems from a global manufacturer.

Knauf wall cladding system

Drywall finishing material is widely used in repair work. They align walls and ceilings, create arches, partitions. To get the job done right, you need to adhere to the rules. To facilitate the work, global manufacturers produce complexes.

The Knauf system is the most widely used wall cladding.

Peculiarities

Working with KNAUF gypsum plasterboards practically does not differ from the installation of other gypsum boards. However, the manufacturer produces the necessary components for creating a plasterboard surface. All materials assembled in a wall cladding kit are called a system. This simplifies the work, because all components are manufactured for each other. There is no need to think about the installation of non-standard additional elements.

Pros of using technology

The KNAUF complex includes all the necessary elements for cladding a wall or creating a partition. This has advantages:

  • use of high quality materials, which guarantee a long service life;
  • ease of calculation necessary materials for installation;
  • KNAUF kit includes detailed instructions on assembly;
  • if you buy gypsum board and accessories separately, some small details are often forgotten. Everything is included in the kit.

Each structure has its own purpose: ordinary partitions, double cladding, and so on.

Types of gypsum boards used in KNAUF systems

GKL kit for wall cladding has the following types sheets:

  1. Drywall gray - thickness from 9.5 mm. used in rooms with moderate humidity.
  2. Green moisture resistant sheet - systems with such sheets are used in wet rooms.
  3. Green with red lettering, combined - a combination of moisture resistant and fireproof materials.

Wall cladding with systems is carried out according to 2 methods: frame ( metal lathing from profiles) and frameless (gluing sheets on an adhesive composition).

Knauf installation technology: drywall, walls and partitions

Knauf installation technology is not much different from the generally accepted work of wall cladding and the creation of partitions.

When assembling a structure, you must adhere to some rules:

  1. drywall sheets are fixed on metal, wooden frame from the center or from the corner. This is done so that the fox does not deform. Screws NK 11 are used for fixation.
  2. To create a strong joint between the sheets, they are mounted close to each other, leaving no gap.
  3. GKL is mounted so that there are no cruciform seams. Sheets on the surface must be shifted.
  4. To use the frameless method, 12.5 mm sheets must be selected.
  5. PERLFIX glue is used for gluing sheets. After gluing, the craftsman has 10 minutes to align the sheet on the surface.
  6. When laying thermal insulation material for fastening the gypsum board to the frame base, 35 mm screws are included in the kit for wooden base and 25 mm for metal profiles.
  7. Knauf profile is cut with metal scissors.
  8. A sound insulation tape is applied to the guide profiles before fixing.
  9. For good sound insulation, it is necessary to retreat at least 50 mm from the rough wall to the guide.
  10. If a Knauf system partition is created, with a room height of 2.80 m door leaf should be 90 cm wide and weigh up to 25 kg.

Knowing these rules, the assembled assembly will be a solid, rigid structure.

On what surfaces is cladding acceptable?

Knauf design is applicable in various areas: walls, ceilings, floors.

Frameless method applicable for concrete, brick walls... When installing the system in this way, it is necessary to select the correct primer.

The frame method is used if the room is wet, the walls tend to get damp, there is a desire to improve sound insulation and thermal insulation with the help of additional material.

  • there are kits for creating false ceilings;
  • kits for work in the attic - fastening from the side of the rafters.

GKL KNAUF kits are mounted on various surfaces. Each of which has its own requirements and the implementation of certain rules.

How much does the cladding cost

Knauf produces a large number of complexes applied to different surfaces with various configurations. Pricing policy depends not only on the complexity of the system itself ( suspended ceiling has a large number of components), but also from materials (GKL 9.5mm or 12.5mm).

Refractory gypsum board has the highest cost among all sheets, and double sheathing with sheets is much more expensive than installation in one layer.

How effective is Knauf drywall / walls / partitions technology: heat consumption rates

Heat is used in Knauf kits - soundproof materials in accordance with GOST 9573-96, 21880-94, 10499-95, as well as materials included in the "List of polymer materials and structures permitted for use in construction by the USSR Ministry of Health" - M. 1985 Have a conclusion of compliance sanitary standards RF legislation.

To maintain the norms of heat consumption in a room, Knauf systems have materials, the calculation of which is carried out individually for each case (dry but cold rooms, wet rooms).

The heat-insulating layer is placed only in the frame base. It is impossible to apply insulation in a frameless method.

Plasterboard wall cladding: is it possible for yourself

For the installation of the GKL system, detailed instructions are included in each kit, so it is not necessary to call the wizard. However, we must not forget that the GCR sheet has its own weight and at certain installation works it won't be easy to lift it alone with glue or on the ceiling.

Experts know the intricacies of working with various systems, this gives a guarantee not to make mistakes and get a solid durable structure.

Examples: video tutorials

The application of the frameless method is shown in the video:

Knauf is a global manufacturer of mixtures, profiles and gypsum plasterboards, widely used in various installation and repair work. Knauf systems allow you to reduce the time for the purchase of materials, make it easier for yourself to do it yourself, prevent mistakes that will subsequently affect the entire structure.

Useful video

Today, drywall is the most popular material for finishing partitions, decorative installations, niches and arches in rooms. But it is worth noting that these structures need solid support. Wooden or profile frames are used.

PPR Knauf is in the greatest demand today. The frame of such a base is exclusively metal, and the installation itself is made of plasterboard sheets. But manufacturing and installation requires adherence to certain rules in order for the structure to be integral and reliable.

Material for thermal and sound insulation

Knauf technology - installation plasterboard partitions- involves the use of practical and high-quality materials: profiles, drywall sheets, screws, cutters and putties.

Installation of partitions PPR gives good results, because at the junction of the rack and guides, irregularities and protrusions are not formed. This provides additional savings as there is no extra costs for finishing mixtures.

Plasterboard installation Knauf sheets- this is the mandatory use of moisture-resistant materials. It is important for the manufacturer to indicate the moisture-resistant PPR values on the packaging. there are five standard sizes in the range of this kind of products, which speeds up the construction of plasterboard installations. If it is planned to strengthen heat and sound insulation in the room, then builders recommend using mineral wool.

It is worth noting that Knauf fasteners and hardware products are made of a durable type of plastic, and metal parts are treated against corrosion.

Characteristics of Knauf products

The standard set of metal profiles includes prefabricated parts for framing (rails, structural parts, and rack parts). The length of the profiles is 3-4 meters. If the length of the frame is not enough, then it is increased without problems, it is only necessary to take into account the unified dimensions of the sides of the profile. The elongation is performed using the overlapping method. But the masters claim that its length should not exceed the height of the side profile side.

Partition mounting technology

If this connection is equipped with additional elements, then the overlap is also twice as long. For the installation of such profiles, self-tapping screws are used, holes for which are made along four edges and two in the middle. Be sure to glue the cushioning tape to the outer side of the profile. This foam tape insulates the joints.

The distance between fasteners depends on the structure of the frame, but cannot be more than one meter. Professionals recommend taking a step no more than 0.3 meters. The structure is fixed with dowels and self-tapping screws.

Installation of Knauf partitions: advantages

The products of this company are distinguished by durable service and high quality, therefore, the installation of such partitions must be carried out at the proper level. ... There are several rules that it is recommended to adhere to in order to achieve excellent construction results:

  1. The outer part of the profile is completely pasted over with thermal insulation tape before fixing the PPR sheets. If the profiles are frozen, the moisture from the condensation will not reach the walls.
  2. If you do not plan to hang anything heavy on the wall, a sufficient step of the profiles is 60 centimeters. Otherwise, this distance is reduced.

Partition PPR, reinforced according to the described technology
  1. The construction of Knauf plasterboard partitions is provided only on solid walls. To achieve this result, they work exclusively with a double profile (one profile is inserted into another, overlapping about ten percent of the product's width).
  2. Docking of long plasterboard sheets is performed in a checkerboard pattern to achieve the maximum aesthetic appearance walls so that the finished structure does not vibrate and does not deform over time.
  3. For good connection parts between each other according to the rules of this technology, it is necessary to work with a cutter or with Knauf screws.

Installation of plasterboard partitions, their types, insulation and sound insulation

There are several types of partitions, depending on how much sheathing is present on the product:

  • Partitions with single layer sheathing;
  • In two or three layers;
  • Combined cladding: two-layer on both sides of the product;
  • Three-layer cladding: moisture resistant sheets with intermediate steel sheets.

Single-type partition, two-layer

If structures of a simple type are installed, then additional materials are not needed. But if you wish, the gap between the wall and the frame can be filled with a special material with soundproofing or insulating properties.

Master class from the manufacturer:

Masters claims that price policy such materials are not at all an indicator of their quality. To get an excellent sound-insulating material, it is enough to use egg boxes in the work, and mineral wool will help to preserve the heat in the room. Just like a heater, a foil base protrudes, which, on the one hand, perfectly retains heat, and on the other hand, repels it.

- this is ready-made solution from drywall and insulation, coming together with fasteners. They are easy to install and are renowned for their high quality and fire-fighting properties.

In contact with

Alphonse and Karl Knauf are siblings. Both received the education of a mining engineer and, by the nature of their activities, were especially interested in the natural material - gypsum. Having studied its properties, they decided to use them in order to speed up, reduce the cost and improve the quality of some construction processes.

The implementation of their project fell on time economic crisis... As if time itself helped the future tycoons of the construction industry. In 1932 they founded Reinische Gipsindustri und Bergwerxunternemen.

Having collected the necessary documents and received an indulgence to develop a gypsum mine in Schengen, the brothers opened a plant in the city of Perl. There they began to produce dry construction grout based on natural gypsum for plastering surfaces.

In 1949, in the city of Iphofen, which is located in Northern Bavaria, the Knaufs established a plant for the production of gypsum-based building mixtures. The headquarters of Knauf is also located here. In 1958, they opened the first plasterboard plant.

During the German economic boom, the company developed rapidly and from a relatively small enterprise turned into a family with subsidiaries around the world. In 1993 they start their activities in Russia. A lot of enterprises equipped with modern equipment are opening across the country, where a single production technology and quality standard are used.

Knauf products

But Knauf does not rest on its laurels, the company develops new projects, offers the consumer:

  • palette of related products. The range expands due to specialized tools, metal profiles, development of new materials;
  • building mixtures not only based on gypsum, but also other innovative compositions;
  • special courses are held where theoretical training is carried out. Those wishing to acquire practical skills in construction and design.

Knauf enterprises produce high-quality finishing materials:

  • gypsum fiber sheets;
  • tongue-and-groove gypsum boards;
  • dry gypsum and cement mixtures;
  • primers, other compositions for interior finishing, ready for quick use;
  • construction chemistry;
  • metal profiles;
  • drywall sheets.

We will dwell on the last two groups of products and tell you what drywall and Knauf profiles are, about production characteristics, dimensions and installation.

Varieties of Knauf drywall

The products manufactured by this manufacturer are used to perform work on interior decoration"Dry" method. It is practical and fast. Drywall sheet is classified by properties:

  • ordinary, some builders also call it standard,
  • moisture resistant,
  • refractory.

Plasterboard

A sheet of ordinary (standard) drywall is used in rooms where natural temperature conditions and normal humidity are maintained. They can be veneered interior walls living quarters, offices, enterprises.

Standard sheets by outwardly differ from other species in color - they have grey colour and blue markings. They are not expensive and are used much more frequently than others.

Having studied its characteristics, we talked about them in detail in the article "", we can state that such a sheet:

  • not dangerous for people and the environment;
  • helps to radically change the space and interior of the room. With the help of such a sheet, a partition, an arch, a fireplace are quickly erected;
  • it is perfectly revetted with any finishing materials: plaster, tiles, wallpaper, paint, stone;
  • it is easy to cut and takes the required configuration.

When you plan to make repairs in your home and change the contours of its premises, you can use the Knauf drywall sheets below for the walls:

Moisture resistant gypsum board

Sheets of moisture resistant drywall should be used where it is intended high humidity or the room is poorly ventilated. The technical characteristics of the sheet make it possible to install additional partitions, ennoble the walls:

  • in the shower, bathroom;
  • in pools and saunas;
  • in toilets;
  • in sanitary facilities.

For these works, it is better to use Knauf sheets given in the table below:

The color of the leaf is green and has blue markings.

Fire-resistant gypsum plasterboard sheets are used where there is an elevated temperature and it is necessary to strictly observe the measures for fire safety... Specifications named finishing material say that they can:

  • cladding the walls of wooden buildings;
  • to carry out installation in home boilers, furnaces, sanitary facilities of enterprises;
  • ennoble fireplaces;
  • sheathe the walls of the evacuation exits.

For these purposes, Knauf offers the following sheets:

It differs from other types of GKLO in pink and red markings.

Now that you know what types of drywall there are, its dimensions, technical characteristics, insignia, you can proceed to the next section and find out how the sheets are mounted to a vertical surface.

Elements of the metal frame

All metal profiles at Knauf factories are manufactured according to the conditions TU 1121-012-04001508-2011... These are elements of a certain length, made of steel strip by the method of cold rolling on modern roll forming machines. They are covered with a galvanized coating to protect against aggressive environmental influences.

With the help of such structures, a frame for cladding is assembled, it is they who serve as a rigid base, on which gypsum plasterboards are then laid.

The profiles have a standard length: 2750, 3000, 4000, 4500 mm. But at the request and agreement with the customer, their height can vary from 500 to 6000 mm.

Cutting and assembly work metal products are made using specialized tools such as electric shears, cutters, hacksaw for metal or other devices.

The frame requires the following structures:

  • rack profile. By outward appearance similar to the letter "C" and acts as the vertical racks of the future frame. It is assembled together with a guide rail. You can learn about its geometric dimensions from the article "";
  • guide profile. This part is U-shaped. In the frame, it functions as a guide for the rack profile and serves for the installation of jumpers.
  • ceiling guide profile. It has the shape of the letter P. It is needed in the frame as a guide for the ceiling profile and for mounting the lintel above the opening;
  • ceiling profile. It is presented in the form of a C-shaped long-length part, it serves as a vertical frame of the frame. To mount it to the wall, a straight hanger is used, which can be fixed with screws;
  • screws and dowels are used as fasteners, which are described in detail in the article "";

Installation of gypsum board on walls using Knauf technology

Knauf gypsum plasterboards are quite popular material in the Russian construction market. The technology of their installation has a significant advantage over other facing building materials.

The absence of so-called wet processes during operation significantly reduces the time and installation becomes easier. With minimal labor and money costs, a perfectly flat surface is achieved.

Designers introduced themselves unique opportunity to embody your most daring projects. And the technology of stacking sheets is so simple that a person who is far from construction can do it.

It is worth remembering that installation work should be carried out under normal humidity and temperature conditions.

Methods for installing drywall on walls

You need to know that GCR can be installed in two ways, each of them has its own technical differences:

  • frameless method. In this version, the sheet is simply glued to the base. But you should know that the area to be treated must be very even and always clean;
  • using a frame. It can be presented in the form of a structure made of lumber and metal. Wooden one will cost a little less, but it is not so easy to use and not durable. And here is the metal kit of profiles Knauf widely known and popular among professionals and amateurs. All parts are produced at the drywall manufacturing plant and have a relatively low price.

We will dwell on this technique in more detail, reveal its technical aspects and give recommendations from the manufacturer.

By Knauf technology the whole process should include the following steps:

  1. Frame preparation;
  2. Installing it;
  3. Sheathing of the frame with sheets;

Installation work should begin before the installation of a clean floor, provided that the wiring of sanitary, technical and electrical systems... The temperature regime is at least +10 ° С and the humidity should be normal, these are mandatory requirements according to SNiP 23-02-2003... If winter time- the building must be heated.

This technology makes it possible to insulate a room without problems, improve sound insulation in it, lay and hide communications, create various structural elements.

Required tools for installation

Each specialist has a certain minimum of tools and devices. We recommend you a standard set, which you cannot do without:

  • building level, plumb line, hydro level;
  • screwdriver, puncher;
  • scissors for metal, electric shears, grinder;
  • assembly knife;
  • simple pencil;
  • roulette;
  • a thread;
  • sealing tape.

Installation of a metal frame on the walls

This profile is more durable and reliable. All varieties are manufactured at Knauf industrial plants and comply with standards. The installation process undergoes quality control at all stages of work: first after installing the frame, then after laying the drywall, then - the arrangement of joints and seams.

  1. Let's carry out the markings on the floor surface, and then transfer it to the ceiling and walls. In order to make the installation error-free, experts recommend marking the attachment points of the rack-mount profiles, the type and thickness of the gypsum board.
  2. On the rack and guide profiles adjacent to the enclosing structural elements, it is necessary to stick a sealing tape or apply a special sealant composition. Install the guide profiles according to the markings and then screw them to the horizontal surfaces of the floor and ceiling. The step should not exceed 1000 mm, and there should be at least 3 fasteners per profile.
  3. According to the marking marks, fix the straight hangers to the wall using the appropriate dowels. Step no more than 1500 mm. To weaken the “sound bridges”, insert sealing tape between them.
  4. Install the profiles in the guides and fix them with screws. Interfering ends of the hangers should be bent or cut off.

Plasterboard laying on a metal frame

This technology is as follows:

  1. We start working from the corner with a step for screws of 250 mm. They should be no closer than 15 mm from the edge of the transverse end, and 10 mm from the longitudinal end. If you have a double skinning of the surface, it is allowed to increase the step by 3 times. It is better to start from the corner of the big wall premises.
  2. Plasterboard on the walls is laid in the vertical direction and in whole sheets. Small fragments are filled in later. If there is a difference between the heights of the wall and the gypsum board, and the latter is less than the first, then segments of the guide profile are added to the horizontal joints and then the gypsum board is sheathed.

Docking of sheets is done in a staggered manner. Avoid joints at window pillars or where a drywall doorway is. As a result, a crack will necessarily appear in this place. It is better to pre-install the intermediate profile and additionally fix the sheet.

The caps of self-tapping screws or screws should be well sunk into the surface by 1 mm or more. After puttying, there will be no grooves on the surface.

Moments that must not be forgotten when installing gypsum board on walls

Do not forget to leave a gap of 10-15 mm in height between the gypsum board and the floor, and 5 mm in the abutment to the ceiling. Subsequently, it will be closed with a putty solution and will be glued with a separating tape, the edges of which will then be carefully cut off.

The outer mating corners can be reinforced with a protective perforated corner. finishing it will completely fill up.

Where the sheet is mated with door or window boxes, decorate its edges decorative platbands when you make the finishing.

For moisture-resistant plasterboard sheets, screws with a sharper cone head are used. The step is not more than 300 mm.

If there is a need to hang a hundred either on the wall, then know that with a weight of no more than 10-15 kg per 1 linear meter of the wall surface, it can be fixed using special anchor bolts for gypsum board or dowels for gypsum board anywhere. These may not be heavy openwork shelves, cornices, paintings, sconces or other lighting fixtures. But if you plan to exploit kitchen cabinets, then additional embedded parts must be installed in the places of future fastening. Specialists should take care of this during the installation of the metal frame.

As soon as your walls have received a new outfit, you should start puttingty, processing the joints and places where the caps of the screws are located.
But we will talk about this in the article, which will be called ";".
