Walls from gkl knauf. Knauf: a description of the installation technology and the materials required for this

Alphonse and Karl Knauf are siblings. Both received the education of a mining engineer and, by the nature of their activities, were especially interested in natural material- plaster. Having studied its properties, they decided to use them in order to speed up, reduce the cost and improve the quality of some construction processes.

The implementation of their project fell on the time of the economic crisis. As if time itself helped the future tycoons of the construction industry. In 1932 they founded Reinische Gipsindustri und Bergwerxunternemen.

By collecting Required documents and having received an indulgence to develop a gypsum mine in Schengen, the brothers opened a plant in the city of Perl. There they began to produce dry construction grout based on natural gypsum for plastering surfaces.

In 1949, in the city of Iphofen, which is located in Northern Bavaria, the Knaufs established a plant for the production of gypsum-based building mixtures. The headquarters of Knauf is also located here. In 1958, they opened the first plant to produce drywall sheets.

During the German economic boom, the company developed rapidly and from a relatively small enterprise turned into a family with subsidiaries around the world. In 1993 they start their activities in Russia. A lot of enterprises equipped with modern equipment are opening across the country, where a single production technology and quality standard are used.

Knauf products

But Knauf does not rest on its laurels, the company develops new projects, offers the consumer:

  • palette of related products. The assortment is expanding due to specialized tools, metal profiles, development of new materials;
  • building mixtures not only based on gypsum, but also other innovative compositions;
  • special courses are held where theoretical training is carried out. Those who wish to acquire practical skills in construction and design.

Knauf enterprises produce high-quality finishing materials:

  • gypsum fiber sheets;
  • tongue-and-groove gypsum boards;
  • dry gypsum and cement mixtures;
  • primers, other compositions for interior decoration, ready for quick use;
  • construction chemistry;
  • metal profiles;
  • drywall sheets.

We will dwell on the last two groups of products and tell you what drywall and Knauf profiles are, about production characteristics, dimensions and installation.

Varieties of Knauf drywall

The products manufactured by this manufacturer are used to perform work on interior decoration"Dry" method. It is practical and fast. Drywall sheet is classified by properties:

  • ordinary, some builders also call it standard,
  • moisture resistant,
  • refractory.

Plasterboard

A sheet of ordinary (standard) drywall is used in rooms where natural temperature conditions and normal humidity are maintained. They can be veneered interior walls living quarters, offices, enterprises.

Standard sheets differ in appearance from other types in color scheme- have grey colour and blue markings. They are not expensive and are used much more frequently than others.

Having studied its characteristics, we talked about them in detail in the article "", we can state that such a sheet:

  • not dangerous to people and the environment;
  • helps to radically change the space and interior of the room. With the help of such a sheet, a partition, an arch, a fireplace are quickly erected;
  • it is perfectly revetted with any finishing materials: plaster, tiles, wallpaper, paint, stone;
  • it is easy to cut and takes the required configuration.

When you plan to make repairs in your home and change the contours of its premises, you can use the Knauf drywall sheets below for the walls:

Moisture resistant gypsum board

Sheets of moisture resistant drywall should be used where it is intended high humidity or the room is poorly ventilated. The technical characteristics of the sheet make it possible to install additional partitions, ennoble the walls:

  • in the shower, bathroom;
  • in pools and saunas;
  • in toilets;
  • in sanitary facilities.

For these works it is better to use Knauf sheets given in the table below:

The leaf is green in color and has blue markings.

Fire-resistant plasterboard sheets are used where there is an elevated temperature and it is necessary to strictly observe the measures for fire safety... Specifications named finishing material say that they can:

  • cladding the walls of wooden buildings;
  • to carry out installation in home boilers, furnaces, sanitary facilities of enterprises;
  • ennoble fireplaces;
  • sheathe the walls of the evacuation exits.

For these purposes, Knauf offers the following sheets:

It differs from other types of GKLO pink and red markings.

Now that you know what types of drywall there are, its dimensions, specifications, insignia, you can proceed to the next section and find out how the sheets are mounted to a vertical surface.

Elements of the metal frame

All metal profiles at Knauf factories are manufactured according to the conditions TU 1121-012-04001508-2011... These are elements of a certain length, made of steel strip using the method of cold rolling on modern roll forming machines. They are covered with a galvanized coating to protect against aggressive environmental influences.

With the help of such structures, a frame for cladding is assembled, it is they who serve as a rigid base, on which gypsum plasterboards are then laid.

The profiles have a standard length: 2750, 3000, 4000, 4500 mm. But at the request and agreement with the customer, their height can vary from 500 to 6000 mm.

Cutting and assembly work metal products are made using specialized tools such as electric shears, cutters, hacksaw for metal or other devices.

The frame requires the following structures:

  • rack profile. By appearance similar to the letter "C" and acts as the vertical racks of the future frame. It is mounted in a pair with a guide rail. You can learn about its geometric dimensions from the article "";
  • guide profile. This part is a P- figurative form... In the frame, it serves as a guide for the rack profile and serves for the installation of jumpers.
  • ceiling guide profile. It has the shape of the letter P. It is needed in the frame as a guide for the ceiling profile and for mounting the lintel over the opening;
  • ceiling profile. It is presented in the form of a C-shaped lengthy part, it serves as a vertical frame post. To mount it to the wall, a straight hanger is used, which can be fixed with screws;
  • screws and dowels are used as fasteners, which are described in detail in the article "";

Installation of gypsum board on walls using Knauf technology

Knauf gypsum plasterboards are quite popular material in the Russian construction market. The technology of their installation has a significant advantage over other facing building materials.

The absence of so-called wet processes during operation significantly reduces the time and installation becomes easier. A perfectly flat surface is achieved with minimal labor and cost.

Designers introduced themselves unique opportunity to embody your most daring projects. And the technology of stacking sheets is so simple that a person far from construction can do it.

It is worth remembering that installation work should be carried out under normal humidity and temperature conditions.

Methods for installing drywall on walls

You need to know that GCR can be installed in two ways, each of them has its own technical differences:

  • frameless method. In this version, the sheet is simply glued to the base. But you should know that the area to be treated must be very even and always clean;
  • using a frame. It can be presented in the form of a structure made of lumber and metal. Wooden one will cost a little less, but it is not so convenient to work with and not durable. But the metal set of Knauf profiles is widely known and popular among professionals and amateurs. All parts are produced at the drywall manufacturing plant and have a relatively low price.

We will dwell on this technique in more detail, reveal its technical aspects and give recommendations from the manufacturer.

According to Knauf technology, the whole process should include the following stages:

  1. Frame preparation;
  2. Installing it;
  3. Sheathing of the frame with sheets;

Installation work should begin before the installation of a clean floor, provided that the wiring of sanitary, technical and electrical systems. Temperature regime not less than +10 ° С and humidity should be normal, these are mandatory requirements according to SNiP 23-02-2003... If winter time- the building must be heated.

This technology makes it possible to insulate a room without problems, improve sound insulation in it, lay and hide communications, create various structural elements.

Required tools for installation

Each specialist has a certain minimum of tools and devices. We recommend you standard set, which you cannot do without:

  • building level, plumb line, hydro level;
  • screwdriver, puncher;
  • scissors for metal, electric shears, grinder;
  • assembly knife;
  • simple pencil;
  • roulette;
  • a thread;
  • sealing tape.

Installation of a metal frame on the walls

This profile is more durable and reliable. All varieties are manufactured at Knauf industrial plants and comply with standards. The installation process undergoes quality control at all stages of work: first after installing the frame, then after laying the drywall, then - the arrangement of joints and seams.

  1. Let's do the markup on the floor surface, and then transfer it to the ceiling and walls. In order to make the installation error-free, experts recommend marking the attachment points of the rack-mount profiles, the type and thickness of the gypsum board.
  2. On the rack and guide profiles adjacent to the enclosing structural elements, it is necessary to stick a sealing tape or apply a special sealant composition. Install the guide profiles according to the markings and then screw them to the horizontal surfaces of the floor and ceiling. The step should not exceed 1000 mm, and there should be at least 3 fasteners per profile.
  3. According to the marking marks, fix the straight hangers to the wall using the appropriate dowels. Step no more than 1500 mm. To weaken the “sound bridges”, insert sealing tape between them.
  4. Install the profiles in the guides and fix them with screws. Interfering ends of the hangers should be bent or cut off.

Laying drywall on a metal frame

This technology is as follows:

  1. We start working from the corner with a step for screws of 250 mm. They should be no closer than 15 mm from the edge of the transverse end, and 10 mm from the longitudinal end. If you are going to have double cladding of the surface, it is allowed to increase the step by 3 times. It is better to start from the corner of the largest wall of the room.
  2. Plasterboard on the walls is laid in the vertical direction and in whole sheets. Small fragments are filled in later. If there is a difference between the heights of the wall and the gypsum board, and the latter is less than the first, then segments of the guide profile are added to the horizontal joints and then the gypsum board is sheathed.

Docking of sheets is done in a staggered manner. Avoid joints at window pillars or where a drywall doorway is. As a result, a crack will necessarily appear in this place. It is better to pre-install the intermediate profile and additionally fix the sheet.

The caps of self-tapping screws or screws should be well sunk into the surface by 1 mm or more. After puttying, there will be no grooves on the surface.

Moments that must not be forgotten when installing gypsum board on walls

Do not forget to leave a gap of 10-15 mm in height between the gypsum board and the floor, and 5 mm in the abutment to the ceiling. Subsequently, it will be closed with a putty solution and will be glued with a separating tape, the edges of which will then be carefully cut off.

The outer mating corners can be reinforced with a protective perforated corner. finishing it will completely fill up.

Where the sheet is mated with door or window frames, decorate its edges decorative platbands when you make the finishing.

For moisture-resistant plasterboard sheets, screws with a sharper cone head are used. The step is not more than 300 mm.

If there is a need to hang a hundred either on the wall, then know that with a weight of no more than 10-15 kg per 1 running meter wall surface, it can be fixed using special anchor bolts for gypsum board or dowels for gypsum board anywhere. It may not be heavy openwork shelves, cornices, paintings, sconces or others. lighting... But if you plan to exploit kitchen cabinets, then additional embedded parts must be installed in the places of future fastening. Specialists should take care of this during the installation of the metal frame.

As soon as your walls have received a new outfit, you should start puttingty, processing the joints and places where the caps of the screws are located.
But we will talk about this in the article, which will be called ";".

One of the most technologically advanced and economical solutions for construction or apartment renovation is the installation of gypsum board sheets. With their help, you can easily correct all wall defects, achieving a perfectly flat surface. The effectiveness of gypsum board in the manufacture of decorative elements, arches or boxes has been proven by numerous design implementations. Among the total number of manufacturers of plasterboard material, a German company stands out favorably. Knauf, whose products meet all international standards. The components used in production do not contain any toxic elements and do not have a harmful effect on human health.

General information

Gypsum plasterboard is a three-layer structure consisting of two outer layers made of cardboard and internal from gypsum mix . Depending on its composition drywall Knauf and its price are divided into:

  • normal(GKL);
  • moisture resistant(GKLV);
  • fireproof(GKLO);
  • moisture resistant with increased resistance to open fire(GKLVO).

The types of sheets can be easily determined by their external features: moisture resistant varieties have green color cardboard, a ordinaryGray.

The technological composition of the first type differs from others in the presence of antifungal and hydrophobic additives, as well as in special cardboard.

By appointment GCR are divided into three types:

  • arched- thickness 6.5 mm;
  • ceiling- thickness 8 mm;
  • wall- from 10 mm thick.

In addition, sheets can have various types of longitudinal edge, which Knauf drywall installation technology uses for the subsequent filler joints.

The dimensions of the rectangular material are from 2000 to 4000 mm in length and 600 or 1200 mm in width.

Preparing for the installation of gypsum board

The preparatory stage includes an assessment of the working surface for installation and selection of the required tool... The company's specialists advise to prepare:

  • utility knife, graver or round cutter;
  • , ironer and grinder;
  • stirring attachment and solution container;
  • building level, marking cord and tape measure;
  • screwdriver, square;
  • scissors for metal;
  • Knauf Fugenfuller putty;
  • self-tapping screws, suspensions;
  • galvanized profile or timber.

Inspection of the surface is carried out in order to determine the material of the walls and their operating conditions. After that, a specific choice of gypsum board and consumables is made.

Highlights of Knauf drywall installation technology

Depending on the type of construction, as well as its purpose, gypsum plasterboards can be attached both on glue and on a metal or wooden frame... It must be said right away that wood is not the best choice, especially in objects with high humidity.

The use of glue for fastening is permissible for wall irregularities that do not exceed 4 mm. In other cases, it is recommended to use a galvanized profile.

Option for installing plasterboard with glue

For an average room, you need to prepare about 30 kg dry adhesive mixture Knauf perlfix... It will provide reliable fastening without unnecessary structures, medium the price of the mix for Knauf drywall285 RUB per package 30 kg. Fastening technique sheets are as follows:

  • pour the mixture into a container with water and stir;
  • cut sheets to size;
  • apply ready-made glue to reverse side sheet with stamps with a pitch of 350 mm;
  • press the sheet against the wall and level it.

Important! The mixture begins to harden after 10 minutes. During this period of time, the slabs should be leveled using a rubber hammer and a bar.

Installation of gypsum board on a metal frame

This plasterboard installation technology from Knauf allows you to carry out high-quality insulation and soundproofing of walls. After taking measurements, the process goes the points:

  • cut the starting UD profile to size;
  • attach the UD-profile to the ceiling and floor with dowels in increments of at least 1 m;
  • install straight hangers for attaching the CD-profile to the wall, not forgetting to put a soundproof tape; step not less than 1.5 m;
  • install the CD-profile with a pitch of 600 mm and fix it with screws with straight hangers and a starting profile;
  • install the sheet insulation and fix it to the frame with self-tapping screws with a pitch of 250 mm.

Important! To improve sound insulation performance, it is recommended to attach a special self-adhesive tape to the UD-profile. The caps of the self-tapping screws must be recessed into the mass of the plate; here it is advisable to use a special bit for a screwdriver with a limiter.

Average price for Knauf drywall sheets in the construction market

The cost of gypsum board is primarily influenced by its type and parameters. For example, the average prices for different kinds material:

  • ceiling 1200x2500x9.5 mm - 250 rubles / sheet;
  • wall 1200x2500x12.5 mm - 290 rubles / sheet;
  • arched 1200x2500x6 mm - 570 rubles / sheet;
  • GKLV 1200x2500x12.5 mm - 350 rubles / sheet;
  • GKLO 1200x2500x12.5 mm - 400 rubles / sheet.

When buying, it is worthwhile to think over and calculate the total amount of material in advance, profile elements and fasteners. This will make it possible to organize a bulk purchase, which will make the price of Knauf drywall sheets somewhat lower.

conclusions

  1. The technique of using gypsum plasterboards in construction has a significant advantage - here there are no so-called "wet" processes, which are associated with the preparation and application of a significant amount of plaster.
  2. The installation technology is quite within the power of any novice builder and does not have any special secrets, the acquisition of a set of tools does not require significant financial investments.
  3. Thus, for little money and with minimal labor costs, we get smooth and aesthetic walls, plus the ability to embody the most daring architectural delights.

Walls and partitions are considered an important element of any home. Without them, it will not be possible to divide the building into separate rooms. Partitions "Knauf" are in special demand today, which are a steel frame and plasterboard sheathing. This popularity is due to the excellent quality and affordable cost of products. All its characteristics correspond to European standards, and the installation is so simple that any person can handle it.

Dignity

Partitions "Knauf" have found their application due to their advantages:

  • ease and speed of installation (assembled element by element);
  • ease of repair (the finished wall can be quickly disassembled and moved to another place);
  • low cost;
  • lack of "wet" processes;
  • reliability and durability.

The named partitions have gained popularity among consumers due to other qualities:

  • the ability to use the structure in regions with seismic hazard;
  • high quality products;
  • the ability to lighten the building;
  • overall construction savings;
  • a variety of architectural solutions (you can build curvilinear forms);
  • the ability to obtain a structure with increased fire resistance, sound insulation, moisture resistance;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • variety can be covered with paint, wallpaper, decorative plaster).

Installation of partitions "Knauf"

As mentioned above, this system consists of plasterboard panels, internal filler and fasteners. Additionally, it can be equipped with specialized plates that are distinguished by increased fire protection. Sheathing can be one-, two- or three-layer. In this case, drywall, hyposofiber or water panels are usually used.

As far as they are concerned, they are guides, rack-mount and load-bearing. Together they form a frame, with each element having a standard length of 3 or 4 meters.

If necessary, the profiles can be lengthened by overlapping them. They are fastened with self-tapping screws: four on each edge and two in the middle. The outer side of the guide element is covered with insulating tape. Self-tapping screws are placed on it every 300 mm (maximum step - 1000 mm). TO supporting structures partitions are fastened with dowels.

Varieties

Depending on the purpose and device, "Knauf" partitions are divided into types: W111, W112, W113, W118. The W111 system is a frame sheathed with a single layer of material on both sides. Soundproofing is placed inside it. The guides are attached to the supporting structures using dowels. After attaching the drywall, the joints between the sheets are filled with a special compound.

The W112 partition includes a frame, two sheathing layers on both sides and sound insulation between them. The structures are also fastened with dowels, however, additional fixation of the second layer of cladding is required. This has a positive effect on fire resistance and sound insulation.

The W113 structure consists of a frame and three sheathing layers (on both sides). There is a non-combustible sound insulation inside. Such a wall has serious cladding, therefore, it should be fastened after a maximum of 50 cm.

The W118 partition has the same structure as the previous construction, but it is reinforced with 0.5 mm thick galvanized sheet. It is also equipped with a reinforced frame made of a profile, 0.6 mm thick. The article presents drawings of the Knauf partitions and how they are attached.

Profile types

Depending on the purpose, Knauf profiles are divided into rack, guides and arched. Rack structures have a section in the form of the letter "C" and are located vertically in the frame. The uprights are installed together with guide profiles of the appropriate size. The ends of the products are equipped with two holes through which engineering communications are laid (they are hidden in the walls). They are attached to the guides with self-tapping screws, which are easily centered thanks to the longitudinal grooves.

They have a section in the form of the letter “P” without folded edges - this allows you to get a snug fit of the racks to the upper and lower elements. They are needed not only for attaching the rack parts, but also for installing jumpers between them. During manufacturing, holes are drilled in structures into which dowels are inserted during installation.

Partitions "Knauf", the technical characteristics of which are shown in the table below, can also consist of arched profiles, which serve as the basis for curved structures. They are made in different radii, and the shelves can be turned inward or outward.

Cladding options

During the installation process, structures can be sheathed with different types of drywall sheets. The cladding is attached to metal profiles and can be 1, 2 or 3 layers. This is necessary when the building is subject to deformation loads.

Ordinary gypsum plasterboard is used in rooms with normal humidity and differs from other types gray... The composition includes protective additives that make the material "breathable". When manufactured, it is dyed green.

Special additives are added to fire-resistant sheets that are not subject to combustion. The material is pink. Combined gypsum plasterboard combines the properties of fire-resistant and moisture resistant types... It can be recognized by its green color with red markings.

"Knauf" partitions installation technology

There is nothing complicated in this process, but it is important to know some rules and nuances. First you need to prepare the walls, floor and ceiling. They will need careful alignment to ensure that the guides fit smoothly. The next stage is marking, the evenness of which is checked with a level, cord and plumb line.

After preparing the base, proceed to the installation of the profiles:

  1. The supporting elements are installed and attached with dowels (step - 200-400 mm).
  2. They have vertical structures that are located at regular intervals (corresponds to half the width of the gypsum board).
  3. Attach them with self-tapping screws.
  4. Lay horizontal guides so that they set two identical planes of the future partition.
  5. The frame is fastened with a cross and special screws.

The result should be a frame with square cells 600x600 mm.

Warming and plasterboard sheathing

Installation of the "Knauf" partition includes the installation of a soundproof layer. Most a budget option allows you not to use Additional materials, however, if necessary, you can put a foil-based insulation or mineral wool inside the frame.

After installing the frame, laying the insulation and engineering communications you can start attaching drywall. For these purposes, special self-tapping screws are used. You should be aware that the connection of sheets can be carried out arbitrarily, however, a checkerboard pattern is preferable. Thanks to this, there will be no cracks on the structure and a stronger connection will be obtained.

Partitions "Knauf" - constructions with original elements, distinguished by their durability and high quality... Their use will allow you to build a small building in a short time.

Distribution interior space in a house or apartment for rooms today, it is most efficiently and quickly performed by installing plasterboard partitions using the Knauf technology. Application modern materials allows you to assemble internal structures of any complexity in any operating conditions. The main advantages of the technology are prompt installation, a high degree of constructiveness and soundproofing performance due to the use of aggregates.

Partitions are a frame structure with double-sided cladding sheet plasterboard and filling soundproof material... They provide for the installation of outlets, the laying of electrical and low-current wiring, internal pipeline fittings... The structures are designed for use in both dry and damp rooms, as well as for hanging furniture and resistance to mechanical stress.

Partition features

Depending on the conditions and architectural features of the room, different requirements are imposed on the partition. The main criteria from which you need to build on:

  • dry or damp room;
  • ceiling height;
  • the likelihood of mechanical stress;
  • fire safety requirements;
  • the need to hang furniture or equipment.

Drywall selection

GKL differ in thickness and specialization. Thickness - on sheets for frame (12.5 mm) and frameless (9.5 mm) mounting. Since the partition is made on the frame, drywall with a thickness of 12.5 mm should be chosen.

9.5mm sheets are intended for glue mounting or sheathing old surface with support on the entire plane. In this case, the division of drywall into wall and ceiling is erroneous.

By specialization, gypsum boards differ in standard, moisture-resistant, shock-resistant and fire-resistant.

Moisture-resistant material is used in wet rooms - bathrooms, swimming pools, toilets, kitchens, etc.

Shock-resistant is used with the likelihood of mechanical influences provided for by the purpose of the premises, for example, gyms, children's rooms. Due to the increased strength, such drywall is also used for the construction of structures with a height of 8 m or more. Fire-resistant GK is used in rooms with increased requirements for fire safety, as well as for covering areas where it is planned to install a furnace, boiler or electric heating devices. Standard ones are cheaper and are great for dry living and public spaces.

Two-layer or single-layer cladding

Sheathing of the frame with sheets of GK can be done in one or two layers. A conventional partition that does not perform load-bearing functions is made with a single layer cladding. If necessary, hang any equipment, furniture or cladding with massive ceramic tiles, the sheets are mounted in 2 layers.

If it is intended to use impact-resistant sheets with two-layer sheathing, the first layer can be performed plain drywall... It is also possible to implement “ warm wall»With the use of heating IR-film. In this case, the film is mounted on the first layer of the plasterboard, and the second layer can be applied with sheets of 9.5 mm thickness.

Profile selection

As guides, galvanized PN profiles with a base of 50, 75 or 100 mm and a shelf width of 40 mm are used. Rack - PS must match the rails, so they have a corresponding base width 2 mm less with a shelf width of 50 mm. All Knauf profiles have a wall thickness of 0.6 mm, which differs from products from other manufacturers with a wall thickness of 0.4 mm.

The choice of size is carried out depending on the height of the partition and the requirements for sound insulation. For heights up to 3 m, it is enough to use a profile with a width of 50 mm, from 3 to 5 m - 75 mm and over 5 m - with a width of 100 mm. Naturally, the wider the frame, the greater the distance between the walls, and, therefore, the thicker the sound insulation layer. Therefore, if the requirements for sound insulation indicators are increased, then even for a standard partition height of 2.5 m, the profiles should be chosen wider.

Frame installation

The assembly of plasterboard partitions using the Knauf technology begins with the installation of the frame. This part of the structure will be hidden and, if mistakes are made, the entire structure will have to be dismantled. Therefore, this stage must be taken with full seriousness and compliance with all the rules.

Markup

The layout of the structure should be started from the floor. To draw a straight line, you need to measure extreme points and pull the thread between them. You can transfer the markings to the walls and ceiling using a plumb line. The installation lines of the partition are marked with a pencil on all 4 planes (walls, floor and ceiling).

Professionals use a laser level for these purposes, which speeds up and simplifies the process. You also need to mark the location of the doorway by marking it on the line drawn on the floor.

Installation of guides

Before installing the guide elements, it is necessary to stick the sealing tape on the sides adjacent to the walls, floor and ceiling. This will weaken the sound transmission and prevent cracks in the finish.

Profiles are set at an angle between the base and the shelf along the marked lines. Fastening to the floor and walls is done with plastic dowel-nails, and to the ceiling - with metal anchor dowels. In the place of the doorway, floor guides are not installed.

Installation of racks

Based on the standard width of the gypsum board - 120 cm, the racks are installed in increments of 40 or 60 cm, so that each sheet rests on vertical profiles at the edges and in the middle. The required number of racks is cut so that their length is less than the ceiling height by 1 cm. This is done for ease of installation and compensation for floor deflection, as well as seismic loads.

Then the racks are inserted into the lower and upper guide profile with shelves in the direction of plasterboard installation and are set strictly vertically. Verticality is verified using a reiki level. Immediately after setting, the stand is fastened to the rail using a cutter.

Installation of doorway profiles

Given the massiveness of the doors, as well as the dynamics during its operation, a reinforced UA profile with a wall thickness of 2 mm is used for the doorway. According to the marking of the opening, 2 sections of UA profiles are set vertically in the guides and through them are fixed to the floor and ceiling with dowels using special adjustable brackets. The upper contour of the doorway is limited by the horizontal section of the PN profile, fixed in the same way as the lintels.

Often, 2 rack profiles are used, inserted into each other in the form of a box, but this is not enough for the weight of the door and the dynamics of the loads.

Installation of jumpers

Jumpers are made of a guide bar and are installed in a horizontal position between the racks at the calculated places of the horizontal joints of the sheets of GK. To do this, cut a profile 20 cm longer than the distance between the posts. Then 10 cm is measured on both sides and the shelves are cut at an angle of 45 ° from the marked line to the edges of the shelves. Then the edges are folded at a right angle. In each horizontal line, the jumpers are mounted alternately, alternating with the bent ends up and down.

Thus, the folded parts are put on the posts and do not interfere with each other. Jumpers are also fixed using a cutter. When the frame is in place, a spacer tape is glued along the abutment to the ceiling in order to prevent cracks in the corners.

Installation of gypsum board

The installation of drywall is carried out in conditions of relatively constant humidity, so work must be planned after all wet processes are completed - pouring the screed, plaster and drying. After delivery of sheets of HA to the installation site, they must be kept for 24 hours to acclimatize (equalize humidity). During this time, the material is stored in a horizontal position without direct contact with the floor. In an inclined position, the sheets can deform.

The frame sheathing begins at the bottom with an indent from the floor of 1 cm. Based on the standard sheet length of 250 cm and the ceiling height, as well as taking into account the gap between the bottom end and the floor, it is necessary to calculate the height of the required GKL section under the ceiling. According to the technology of installing partitions made of KNAUF plasterboard, it is not allowed to use segments shorter than 40 cm, so if as a result of the calculation this size turned out to be smaller, then you need to start installation from half of the sheet. All horizontal ends are machined with a special edge planer with a bevel angle of 22.5 ° to a depth of 1/3 of the thickness. To install the bottom sheet, you need to prepare 1 cm thick pads in order to maintain an appropriate distance from the floor.

Installation is carried out intermittently so that the horizontal joints do not coincide in one line and are at least 40 cm in height. The sheets are fastened to the frame with TN 25 screws with a pitch of 25 cm.The screw is screwed in with an indent from the end edge of at least 15 mm and from the longitudinal - 10 mm. The screw must penetrate into the frame to a depth of at least 10 mm, and the head must be recessed by 1 mm. The sheets are not attached to the guides on the floor and ceiling.

For cladding doorways the vertical joint should not go in line with the opening, therefore, an L-shaped cut is made in the cladding material.

After sheathing one side of the partition, mineral heat and sound insulation are placed in the cavity between the walls. It should be laid tightly to the frame elements without gaps. Roll or board material is selected in thickness equal to the distance between the walls.

Then the wiring is pulled through the structural holes in the racks. If necessary, you can pre-drill additional holes and process their edges to avoid damaging the insulation of the wires. After that, you can start covering the second side using a similar technology.

At the end of the drywall installation, holes are drilled in the provided places with an annular cutter for the installation of sockets.

It is more convenient to install the sockets opposite each other on both sides of the partition. This saves wiring but reduces sound insulation properties partitions, so it is better to do it right and install adjacent sockets with a horizontal offset of 10-15 cm.

Putty joints

Vertical and horizontal joints are primed 3 hours before the putty. Sealing is done with high strength gypsum plaster in 2 stages. First, the joints are covered with putty. Immediately over the fresh mortar, a paper reinforcing tape is applied with a slight indentation with a spatula. Corner joints of the partition with the wall are reinforced with corner perforated profiles. A cover layer is applied to the seams only after the first layer has completely dried. In the case of two-layer cladding, the joints of the first layer are putty without reinforcing tape.

Finishing

The formed plane of the partition is a rough surface and is subject to front finishing. Wallpapering, painting can be used as cladding. water-based paints or facing with tiles.

In any case, the entire surface will have to be putty with alignment to the level of the seams. Before puttingty, it is advisable to treat the entire surface with a primer, and after it dries, putty the screw heads.

Wallpaper

The putty is applied in a thin, even layer. The starting layer will be sufficient for the subsequent gluing of wallpaper with a preliminary primer with wallpaper glue according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Painting

For painting, the wall must be brought up to ideal condition... For this, a finishing layer is applied over the dried starting layer. gypsum mortar... After drying, cleaning with a float and a mandatory primer is performed. If you neglect the primer before painting, the paint on the seams and between them will be absorbed unevenly, resulting in stains.

Tile

For facing with wall tiles, an ideal surface is not required and you can only limit yourself to a starting layer of putty. It should be borne in mind that tiles are usually used in wet rooms, and this is favorable conditions for the growth of fungi. Therefore, the primer should be applied with a special composition containing a fungicide before puttying.

Before laying, the wall is covered with a special waterproofing compound intended for the subsequent laying of tiles. The composition is applied with a brush, preferably in 2 layers. After the waterproofing has dried, the tiles are laid on tile adhesive, as well as on other surfaces in damp rooms.

Hanging furniture and equipment

As already mentioned, drywall partitions by the Knauf system designed for hanging shelves, cabinets and other interior elements are made with two-layer sheathing. The technology for attaching hinged elements depends on the weight, which determines the choice of fasteners.

For fastening are used:

  • dowel-butterfly - up to 10 kg;
  • Driva dowel - up to 30 kg;
  • metal dowel for Molly hollow structures - up to 50 kg;
  • when hanging 45-75 kg in advance, two racks of reinforced profiles are used in the frame, as for the doorway. A embedded part is installed on them - a traverse, into which a self-tapping screw will then be screwed through the gypsum board without using a dowel.

For reliability, when selecting a fastening structure, it is necessary to take into account a safety margin of at least 30%.

If you decide to make repairs in the apartment, correcting the unevenness of the walls and ceiling, insulating the room, creating an elegant design with various multi-level structures and lighting, then you definitely need to pay attention to such material as drywall. It makes it possible to create a new look for your apartment, and, which is very important, with your own hands. It is a pleasure to work with it, even a beginner with no experience in construction can handle it. Another important advantage is that all this is quite cheap compared to other types of finishes. But when you go to the store, you see many types of drywall sheets from different manufacturers. Namely, the quality, durability and reliability of the repair largely depends on the choice of gypsum board. Plasterboard Knauf- a good option, acceptable at a price that will pay off with a long service life. In this article you will find information about the products of this manufacturer and, most importantly, how to build, observing the Knauf technology, plasterboard walls and partitions, as well as suspended ceilings from the gypsum board of this manufacturer.

Knauf requirements for the frame of walls and ceilings

Knauf provides a huge part of the construction market. It produces many types of drywall, profile, various building mixtures, thermal insulation materials. Therefore, it would be good to buy all this in a set. This will simplify and speed up the work, increase the reliability of the structure. If it is not possible to purchase a kit, then you need to take care of the proper quality of the materials purchased separately, so that their characteristics are as close as possible to Knauf's products.

The basic requirements that are necessary for the long service life of Knauf drywall are as follows:

  • It is necessary to carry out installation using precisely Knauf GKVL. This prevents damage to the material when the frame profile freezes.
  • To prevent deformation or sagging of the frame under the mass of gypsum board, long profiles should be installed in a checkerboard pattern
  • For fastening, special Knauf screws or LN9 screws are used, you can also use a plasterboard cutter
  • Docking of sheets is prohibited above the doorway, this is done so that vibration and the weight of the door itself does not damage the connection of the sheets
  • After assembling the frame, it is imperative to protect its surface with thermal insulation tape to protect it from freezing

Under the guidance of these rules, following all Knauf's instructions and recommendations for installing drywall, you will achieve the best result, and the repair will not have to be updated for many years.

Installation of drywall using Knauf technology

Installation of plasterboard Knauf sheets does not differ much from working with gypsum board of other manufacturers. The difference is that Knauf produces almost everything that is needed for plasterboard wall and ceiling cladding, and all this is a complete system, which will simplify and improve the work, because all parts fit perfectly together, you do not need to suffer with non-standard fasteners and others troubles.

Technology of wall cladding and installation of drywall partitions Knauf

For GKL Knauf, the walls are prepared in the same way as for other brands. First, they are cleaned of the remnants of past repairs (old wallpaper, frame elements). The surface is primed, treated with special compounds to protect against corrosion. If there are cracks in the wall, they must be repaired with plaster.

Instructions for installing Knauf drywall on walls and when creating partitions:

  1. A plan of the frame is thought over, a crate is created on it - first vertical guides, then horizontal ones. The more horizontal, the greater the strength and rigidity of the structure. The frame is mounted from a galvanized steel profile, it is desirable that it also be of the Knauf brand. But you can also use wooden blocks to create a frame;
  2. The frame is of two types: static and hinged. The first is attached directly to the wall, because of this, it is considered more reliable, and the second is attached to specially designed suspensions. This takes up space in your apartment, but it can be very convenient for hiding communications;
  3. The voids between the profile are filled mineral wool or other similar material for better thermal insulation and protection from external noise;
  4. If you want to cut a sheet, use a hacksaw to mark over the entire surface of the sheet and then gently break it off. The ends are treated with a primer;
  5. Drywall is attached to the profile either with Knauf screws or self-tapping screws. The step should not be more than 25 centimeters, according to the calculation, there are 8 self-tapping screws for each sheet;
  6. A special tape is glued to the seams of joining the sheets, which is then covered with plaster;
  7. From the final finish, drywall only needs a primer, then you can lay on it decorative tiles or stick wallpaper.

Knauf drywall mounting technology on the ceiling

The assembly of the frame for Knauf drywall is done in several ways, depending on design features the ceiling and the room itself. Used for this and wooden beams, and a metal profile. Five types of structures are most often used:

  • "System 111". It is used for wooden blocks. The frame is biaxial. The material is wood conifers, humidity not more than 12%, otherwise, after drying, the frame will be strongly deformed
  • P 112. Manufactured from metal profile Knauf, also biaxial
  • П 113. The same frame as the previous one, but executed in one axis. For these two types, the usual galvanized ceiling profile is used.
  • П 131. A significant difference from the others - the profile is fastened not to the ceiling, but to the walls. Should provide even greater rigidity, therefore, a reinforced Knauf profile designed to create drywall partition systems
  • P 19. Difficult multilevel construction is a prominent representative of architectural and decorative ceilings

Installation of a wooden frame takes place in several ways:

  • By means of direct suspension or quick suspension. Applying the second, you need to change the side of the fastening in turn
  • Directly to the ceiling with self-tapping screws

The frame made of a metal profile is mounted with multilevel hangers. P 113 is used where there will be heavy ceilings, therefore, the material for it is wall profile, and the distance between the dowels should be no more than 30 cm.

You will significantly reduce the time spent on repairs and save energy if you follow some of the tips and recommendations:

  • Fastening the sheets should start from the corner or from the center in order to protect the sheet from deformation and cracks
  • The edge of the sheet must be chamfered with a drywall plane. But for different types at different angles (45 or 22.5)

Knauf's technology for installing drywall provides for sealing joints using a special tape:

  1. First, the seam is filled with putty;
  2. Then laying the tape for the seams;
  3. Covering the tape with a thin layer of putty.

Also, a special Knauf separating tape is installed between the gypsum board sheet and the outer corner.
