How to wallpaper an arch?

Thin paper wallpaper (see ““) is first glued to the wall with an arched opening. We trim them in the opening so that there is a margin of 2.5÷3 cm for hems. We cut the “extra” wallpaper, bend it onto the inner edge of the arch and glue it. Then carefully glue the prepared strip. In this case, its width is 2–3 mm narrower than the width of the inner edge. We glue the strip from bottom to top to the middle of the arch, then bring it to the bottom of the second edge.

If the wallpaper is thick enough, the above method will not work for us. It will not be possible to carefully bend the dense material while maintaining the rounded shape of the opening. And the thick bent part will appear under the inner stripe. That's why:

1. At the stage of preparation for pasting, we paint the corners of the arch (where the joint will be) to match the wallpaper (in case the corner is visible in the joint).
2. Wallpaper on the wall with a margin of 2.5÷3 cm
3. We cut out the inner strip and glue it so that there is a margin of 2.5÷3 cm on both sides.
4. Leave until the glue dries completely
5. Then use a sharp painting knife to cut off the excess panels. If at this stage you installed a metal arched corner, this will be very easy to do since there will be a solid, perfectly flat base underneath. Otherwise, a little more skill and accuracy will be required.

7. Once again we glue the corner so that the wallpaper does not come off. Can be fixed masking tape.
