Doorway dimensions according to GOST. Standard sizes of interior doors and doorways. Features of the formation of openings in wooden baths

Replacing doors during the process is a very responsible matter. It is important not just to choose, it must fit into the opening. Adjusting the dimensions is often impossible without disturbing the structure of the coating. Taking risks in this case is very expensive. Therefore, when choosing, you need to take into account not only the design, but also the standard sizes interior doors, typical markings for opening methods, and prepare as much as possible before going to the shopping center.

Purpose interior products differs from those that are designed to protect housing from entry by strangers. First of all, they must be highly functional and provide comfort in the premises. Requirements for different rooms, differ, but the main criteria can still be identified:

  • Protecting the premises from unwanted visits. For example, it is necessary to create confidence that no one will accidentally interfere during procedures. In addition, protection is needed from increased noise, light, odors from the kitchen or drafts;
  • division of space– this is necessary to delimit the premises into separate zones and organize the area according to its purpose;
  • – canvases must match general design premises.

Structures can be glazed or sheathed tightly. According to the opening method - cassette. The main selection criterion is that the canvas must completely cover the entrance.

Dimensions of interior doors according to GOST

The state standard has approved the dimensions of interior structures. In this case, it is necessary to take into account several parameters at the same time: length, width and thickness doorways. All manufacturers adhere to certain standards. If necessary, structures can be manufactured according to individual measurements, but this will not be cheap for the customer.

Here are the main standard dimensions of interior doors with a frame for a leaf thickness of 44 mm:

Dimensions of the canvas, mm Opening dimensions, mm
Width Height Width Height

1400 (600/800) 1480/1500
1500 (600/900) 1580/1600

You should know this! Standard parameters allow you to select and install the design as accurately as possible. However, its functionality will not be impaired.

How to correctly measure an opening

If it is not possible to invite a measurer, you need to measure all the dimensions yourself. To do this you will need a tape measure, a pencil and a piece of paper.

  • Width measurements must be taken at the top and bottom at a distance of 20 centimeters from the top and bottom borders and in the middle;
  • height is measured in two places: from the floor surface to the upper border. If there is a threshold, it should be taken into account when taking measurements;
  • measuring the thickness of the door frame of an interior door. Moreover, if it is more than 100 mm, it will be necessary to additionally install additional elements in the form of slopes.

The gap between the box and the wall should be 15 mm. After installing the structure, it is filled with polyurethane foam.

If you plan to install non-standard structures, for example, in the form of an arch, you need to contact professionals. It is quite difficult to perform such measurements correctly. You can draw a design on paper and give it to manufacturers.

Calculation of the proportionality of the box to the opening

If you don’t have a proportionality table at hand, you can calculate the necessary parameters yourself. To do this, you need to add the width of the box and the thickness of the installation gap on both sides to the width of the canvas.

  • The standard width of the door frame is 25 mm;
  • The recommended gap on each side is 15 mm.

Let's calculate the parameters of the opening width for a sash with a width of 550 mm:

550 + 25×2 + 15×2 = 630 mm.

To calculate the size of the opening for interior doors in height, you need to take into account:

  • distance from the floor surface to the sash 10 mm;
  • box thickness 25 mm;
  • gap 15 mm.

The height parameters without threshold will be calculated as follows:

2000 + 25 + 15 + 1 = 2031 mm.

To install a box with a threshold, you need to add the height of the threshold instead of the indentation to the floor surface, and take into account the method of its fastening: with foam or screws.

Construction dimensions do not always fit into these formulas. In case of discrepancies, you can use the following tips:

  • if a few millimeters of the opening width is missing, you need to expand it a little manually;
  • if the frame is much narrower than recommended by building codes, you should select the appropriate dimensions for the extensions for the interior doors, they will close the free partition;
  • if the product is installed in a load-bearing wall, its thickness may exceed the thickness of the box. For such a case, slopes are installed.

If none of the proposed options is suitable, you should make a block according to individual order.

Corridor Product Parameter Definitions

When choosing a product for a room, you need to take into account the dimensions of the openings. They must differ from the parameters of the valves. You cannot rely on standards; you must take your own measurements.

The standard height of doorways in the corridor is 2.01÷2.05 m. The width can vary within 1.28÷1.6 m.

In order to select a product according to these parameters, you can choose a double-leaf design with identical leaves of 60 cm, or different widths 0.6 + 0.8 or 0.6 + 0.9 m. The total width allows you to install them in opening 1 .6 m.

Product marking

There is product marking in accordance with GOST; in practice, manufacturers make their own adjustments and designations. Let's first consider generally accepted norms.

The height and width of the structure are indicated in decimeters.

You can find individual manufacturer markings with other designations for the sizes of interior double doors, indicating the material of manufacture and the name of the product. Dimensions can be indicated in centimeters.

Standard sizes of swing interior doors with frames

Swing structures are installed in wide openings. Most often - in the living room. They attract attention and become the central element and decoration of the room. It is important to correctly determine the dimensions of interior doors with frames, as errors will immediately be evident.

Canvas dimensions

In apartments built in the last century, swing doors with a leaf width of 65 cm and a structure height of 230 cm were most often used. Currently, manufacturers have expanded the production of models and offer door frames with the following parameters.

Height, cm Sash parameters, cm
200 60 + 60 = 120
40 + 70 = 110
40 + 80 = 120
40 + 90 = 130
50 + 70 = 120
55 + 80 = 135
60 + 90 = 150

Door frame dimensions

Swing door frames are made in a U-shaped design without thresholds. This is enough to completely fix the product around the perimeter. As in conventional models, when calculating the parameters it is necessary to leave a gap between the box and the opening.

During production door frame different materials are used. The width can be between 15-40 mm, optimal size The width is generally considered to be 30-35 mm.

Door opening dimensions

Manufacturers often indicate standard door opening sizes along with the product labeling.

The width can be determined using the formula:

width of two sashes + double frame width + double gap

The frame width is usually 30 mm, for the gap width you should leave 15 mm on each side.

To determine the height without threshold, you should include in the calculations the distance from the floor surface to the canvas of about 5÷20 mm:

sash height + frame width + gap + height from the floor surface

When installing a threshold, calculating the height is similar to determining the width.

Blade thickness

This is the third characteristic of interior structures. The strength of the entire structure and sound insulation depend on it. The standard thickness of the sheets is 40 mm. Manufacturers also offer thinner blades 20, 30, 36, 38 mm.

Products with a parameter of 50 mm can be made upon individual order.

Interior doors of non-standard sizes

Free layouts of apartments and the construction of private houses require a non-standard approach to the design of premises. Often designs from . For such planning, standard parameters of door products may not be suitable.

By individual order it is possible to produce not only canvases of non-standard parameters, but also of an unusual design. In this case, it is important to take into account the thickness of the material, since drywall is limited in the perceived loads.

If you plan to produce canvas custom size, it is important to consider some features and limitations.

  • Reducing the height of the product is not recommended. Structures of increased height can be installed in rooms with high ceilings;
  • when changing the width, it is important to consider the uniformity of load distribution. If the opening is more than 2 meters, additional supporting elements should be installed in the middle of the structure.

As a non-standard technique, you can change the width of one sash to a third or half of the standard width. This model is usually called one-and-a-half.

This is important to know! Manufacturing custom-made structures will increase the cost by 30÷40%.

Standard sizes of interior doors: main types and range

The modern market is filled with a variety of products. You can choose quite budget models or elite exclusive samples in different color scheme and design. When choosing, you should take into account the basic design of the room.

Basic materials for making products:

Photo Material

Glass

Tree

, or MDF

PVC

Classification of models by opening method

Manufacturers offer samples with a hidden box. To install such structures, certain requirements must be met:

  • the thickness of the walls should not exceed 80 mm;
  • the opening parameters must comply with the manufacturer’s recommendations, the vertical deviation is no more than 1 millimeter.

You can choose designs with in a non-standard way opening. They save space; in addition, their attractive appearance will be a bright accent in the design.

  • Swing models With in the classic way openings can be left- or right-handed, while the hinges are mounted on the opposite side.

  • Sliding– significantly save space. They have one or two canvases moving along the floor surface along special guides.

  • Harmonic- several canvases are folded in the form of an accordion; wide openings are required for their installation.

  • Rocking are made from 1÷2 panels, the mechanism allows you to open the panels both inside and outside the room.

Conclusion

Interior doors complete the interior design. High-quality installation depends primarily on correctly performed measurements and calculations. When choosing a product, you need to take into account many parameters: material, weight and dimensions of the structure. Manufacturers offer a wide range of models that will fit into both regular and non-standard openings. If desired, you can do individual design designs.

Features of sizing can be seen in the video.

Many owners of private houses do not have a full-fledged bathroom at their disposal, so the owners have to equip it themselves. An important detail in this aspect is the door to the bathroom, or, more precisely, the opening of its door. Standard sizes will be described below, but you should also remember that some doors have unusual parameters. You also need to understand that interior doors are about ten centimeters wider than the examples that we will consider.

There is a generally accepted standard, but we’ll talk about it a little later: first you need to understand the measurements of this opening. You need to understand how to measure it correctly. That's how:

  • The height should be measured from the floor. At the same time, it should already have a special finish.
  • The width of the opening is usually measured from the edge of one wall to the edge of the other.
  • The thickness of the wall also needs to be measured, as this is just as important. If the tiles have not yet been laid, then the place for it also needs to be taken into account. The thickness of the walls in the bathroom is slightly thinner than in other rooms of the house, amounting to 4-5 cm.

As you have already seen, the parameters of a bathroom doorway are slightly different from those of openings for standard interior doors. According to generally accepted standards, ordinary openings should have a little larger size than the canvas has, and this is quite obvious. The height of the doorway, of course, can be different, as can be seen from what is described below.

The dimensions of doorways, as a rule, have some dependence on the size of the door. And this is shown below:

  • If the canvas has a width and height of 55 cm and 190 cm, respectively, then the width of the opening and its height will have the following indicators: 59-65 cm and 195-200 cm.
  • For a canvas with a width and height of 60 cm and 190 cm, you will need to make an opening of the following dimensions: 64 cm and 70 cm for the width, and 195 cm and 200 cm for the height.
  • A door 60 cm wide and 200 cm high will require an opening with the following parameters: 64-70 cm and 205-210 cm.

Measuring the dimensions of the opening and calculating the door parameters

It must be remembered that there must be a certain distance between the wall and the door frame, namely 10-15 millimeters. In the wall, in addition to the box itself, of course, there must be a door. In this case, the canvas should not fit tightly to the box: there should also be a gap of 3 millimeters between these parts. It is also necessary to take into account the width of the door beam - 25 mm. The resulting parameters (to obtain a rational picture) need to be multiplied by two, since the door has two edges: right and left.

According to GOST - 80-90 cm (800-900 millimeters), the parameters of the canvas for the bathroom are 60-70 cm. The opening in the wall should be as much as eight centimeters greater than the width of the door: this means that the width of the opening will be at least 88 cm.

The height is calculated in a similar way: another five centimeters are added to the door size. For example, if the height of the door is 200 cm, then the height of the opening will be at least 205 cm. But in the bathroom, you also need to take into account the height of the threshold. Thus, the height of the opening will be as much as 208 centimeters.

It should be added that these calculations are minimal when making doorways, and if you have made a wide opening, it is strongly recommended to leave wider gaps under the door. For example, if the door width is 80 centimeters (800 millimeters), then the opening should be 85. Here it is also worth taking into account such a parameter as the thickness of the door frame.

These sizes (80 and 90 centimeters - width) are standard and will not suit those who have an unusually wide doorway. If this is the case with you, then you will no doubt have to order the door at special points for the production of such parts, and this will cost a little more. Therefore, it is recommended not to “invent” any unprecedented sizes and simply trust the guest. And according to it, the opening in the wall should be 60-70 cm or 80-90 (800-900 millimeters). And one more thing: interior openings are noticeably wider than those used for bathrooms, so there is no need to use them everywhere.

The need to measure the doorway

The doorway in your bathroom and its dimensions, as we already understood from the above, must be measured in advance in order to avoid the awkward situation of returning the door. The dimensions and parameters of doorways for standard interior doors also need to be known before purchasing the door itself. This is explained by the fact that the width and height of your own doorway is not always standard.

The size and parameters of the doorway may differ significantly from the indicators prescribed in the guest, and therefore the size of the door frame for the door must also be calculated in accordance with the numbers indicating the height and width of the doorway. The opening for your interior door and its dimensions are significantly different from those used in bathrooms.

The dimensions of doorways, including those according to GOST, will need to be taken as a basis when purchasing a door. The standard generally accepted dimensions of ordinary doorways according to GOST are as follows: width 60-70 centimeters for bathrooms, and 80-90 centimeters for interior doors. The dimensions of the standard generally accepted opening for ordinary interior doors must also be taken into account when purchasing and planning the opening for the bathroom, since otherwise you will end up with a bathroom with interior doors.

An important component of a market economy is state regulation of production. This is a quality guarantee obliging us to produce products that correspond to the price. Benefit from government standards and sanitary standards are primarily received by consumers who avoid being deceived by unscrupulous sellers.

Today, any door, regardless of material and price category, must meet standards, that is, have a certain strength and wear resistance, so as not to fall apart at one point. Such doors are made from safe materials, standardized sizes, and certified production technology.

GOSTs and SNiPs regulate not only the production and installation of fire and security doors, but also ordinary entrance and interior, balcony blocks and even locks. These legal norms can be state, developed in the USSR or already in Russian Federation, and international, that is, accepted by the CIS countries, allowing us to consider that doors produced in some former socialist republics will be of the same quality as Russian ones.

Here is the classification of locks and latches, cylinder mechanisms, and the technical requirements for them are given. On the one hand, what difference does it make whether the lock meets the standard or not, as long as it works well? However, as convenient as it is when there is a limited number of types of mechanisms, when they can be replaced with a similar one, the same replacement of the cylinder in a cylinder lock would be impossible if all companies installed their own unique locks.

Technical requirements oblige manufacturers of locking mechanisms to create quality product, and door manufacturers should install good certified locks and latches on their products.

The standard was introduced in 1984 and regulates production wooden windows and balcony doors with double-glazed windows. They weren't widespread back then. plastic windows, and there were no companies specializing in glazing balconies. After types, sizes and brands come the overall dimensions of windows and doors. It can be assumed that now their diversity is somewhat wider. However, the design requirements still apply, despite modern technologies.

GOST 26601-85 Wooden windows and balcony doors for low-rise residential buildings. Types, design and dimensions

GOST 1986 regulates the production and installation of wooden windows and balcony doors with double and triple glazing intended for residential buildings no more than two floors high. Sanitary norms and rules for fire safety buildings and structures of 1998 also contain rules applicable to doors. This applies to emergency exits: the width and direction of opening the door, the distance from the doors to other objects, and so on.

Many standards were created more than 30 years ago, but are still in effect. They are revised and supplemented depending on the development of production technologies, while maintaining the basic rules, since most modern housing was built in Soviet years according to old standards.

During the construction of the building, the construction company will try to ensure that all design details comply with GOST and state standards. These rules regulate not only the requirements for the construction of walls or ceilings, but also other indicators - the dimensions of doorways, flights of stairs, sewer systems and so on. In this article we will look at what are the standard requirements prescribed by GOST in relation to interior, entrance, attic and balcony openings.

The last time an interstate standard defining the size of doorways was adopted was in 1989. The document of that year is called “GOST 6629–88. Wooden internal doors for residential and public buildings." At the moment, doors are not only wooden, but also metal. The design of doors has become more complicated - they can be regular, sliding, or double-leaf. Therefore, GOST from 1989 was replenished with documents regulating the openings of all possible options– SNiP 21–7, 21–8, 21–9, 21–10, 21–13.

If you decide to become the happy owner of a house built entirely according to your own standards and design, then do not rush to make the entrances to the premises bypassing the standard ones, since most interior and any other doors are made according to the standard. Original solutions will require you to make extra financial investments in the production of custom-made canvases.

There is a risk of failing the inspection if the holes in the walls are found to be too small, making it difficult to sell the home. It is advisable to comply with standard requirements for entrance and attic entrances, since the fire safety and heat-saving qualities of the premises depend on them.

There are any interiors appearance, since, in fact, they only affect the interior residential premises. Sound insulation depends on them, so you need to pay attention to the width of the canvas.

Balconies are also part of the interior and are important for maintaining warmth and silence in the apartment. Currently, their installation is carried out by the same companies that install windows, so the breadth of such an entrance directly depends on the manufacturer’s proposals.

In general, the dimensions of the inputs can be selected based on:

  • your taste and preferences;
  • GOST requirements;
  • pre-selected models. In our country and abroad there are different standard sizes of canvases, so you need to immediately decide whether you will use domestic or foreign materials.

Doors and openings standards

Any door structure consists of 2 things - the doorway and the door leaf (door). Therefore, when determining the size of the hole, it is necessary to add from 50 to 100 mm to the size of the door leaf.

GOST requirements vary depending on the purpose (opening/leaf in mm):

  • interior (in bedrooms and other living rooms): height (h) – 2000, width (w) – 800; h – 2600, w – 150;
  • to the bathroom: h – 1900, w – 600; h – 2500, w – 90;
  • to the kitchen: h – 2000, w – 700; h – 2600, w – 90;
  • entrance: h – 2000, w – 1200; h – 2600, w – 150–180.

The above indicators are GOST for holes designed for single-leaf wooden doors. Metal sheets do not differ in accordance with GOST requirements, but have a number of advantages over wooden analogues. Metal sheets are more durable and better sound insulation, in addition, they are less fire hazardous, but are suitable only as entrance and attic.

Sliding doors They are not made of metal because they are used indoors. The opening for them is subject to regulation by GOST 1989, since the dimensions of the canvas matter, which should be 500–600 mm wider than the standard ones. The size of the sliding doors is 2000–2100 mm.

Floor-to-ceiling entrances are popular these days. This solution may be suitable for internal partitions or buildings with brickwork, since in houses made of reinforced concrete to install such a canvas in load-bearing walls Additional reinforcement of the wall will be required, which will cost a lot of money.

Holes in the walls are necessary not only for the installation of passages and windows, but also for stairs. Stairs are used as a passage to the upper floor or to attic space. According to international standards, height ordinary stairs should not be less than 1900 mm, and the width should not be less than 550 mm. In addition to the usual, it is possible to install a folding, sliding metal or wooden stairs. A sliding ladder will save space, but is more suitable as a additional design. The staircase must also comply with all safety standards, since high-quality evacuation of residents of the upper floors depends on it.

The dimensions of the entrances depend not only on the dimensions of the doors, but also on the material in which they are made. It is easier to obtain permission for an expanded hole in a brick wall than in a wall made of reinforced concrete panels. However, even a brick wall will need reinforcement load-bearing structures. An opening in a brick wall is made by diamond cutting or knocked out. Then brickwork is leveled and strengthened. The width of the hole will depend on the width brick wall, which can be made from different materials. For example, the width of a silicate brick wall can reach 240 mm.

Balcony door standards

Standard balcony door is 610 mm wide and 2100 high. Due to their purpose, they are most often subject to modifications. Today, the exit to the balcony can be up to a meter wide. A three-chamber glass door of this size will not only illuminate the room well, but also retain heat in the apartment. It is important to take into account the noise-reducing properties of the structure.

You need to know the standard sizes of interior doors to correct installation doors into the opening. To date, no general standards have been established for compliance by their manufacturers. But there are building standards on the basis of which openings are made. The characteristics of the door will be determined from such indicators.

Marking of door products

With product labeling, everything is quite complicated. Of course, there are specific standardized guidelines for designations, but in some cases the general standards may change due to the abundance of manufacturers. It often happens that designs made using identical methods and outwardly similar can be named and labeled differently.

The dimensions of the door directly depend on the size of the opening

First, let's look at the GOST 6629-88 standard, which applies to the manufacture of wooden interior doors for residential and public buildings. Based on the standard, the following markings are applied to products:

  1. Product type: P – panel, D – prefabricated;
  2. Type of panel: O – glazed, U – reinforced with solid filling, K – swinging with glass;

In addition to compliance with GOSTs and official model names, factory unique codes may be used.

Designs are classified according to several criteria:

  • According to placement in the facility - there are internal (interior) and external (entrance);
  • Based on the material, products made of metal, wood, glass and combined options are distinguished;
  • According to the filling of the blind panel, there are glazed and blind systems;
  • Based on the number of panels, one-, one-and-a-half and two-field options are distinguished.

Standard sizes of swing interior doors

Considering the dimensions internal doors with a box, the height, width and weight of the parts should be taken into account. First, the opening into which the box with the canvas will be inserted is examined. Therefore, the initial characteristics are slightly increased. To adjust the basic dimensions, you can use bars, bricks or sheets of drywall.

Canvas dimensions

If you do not use non-standard approaches, where the opening dimensions for interior doors are tied to individual wishes, then the majority of manufacturers are based on standard indicators. The ratio of the opening indicators and door systems(panels and boxes) based on SNiP are indicated in the table:

Panel parameters, cmOpening characteristics, cm
Width heightwidthheight
1 60*200 68-71 205-207
2 70*200 78-81 205-207
3 80*200 88-91 205-207
4 90*200 98-101 205-207
5 60*190 68-71 195-197
6 55*190 63-66 195-197
7 60+60*200 128-131 205-207

According to the DIN standard the ratio will be as follows:

Door parameters, cmOpening characteristics, cm
Width heightwidthheight
1 60*200 70-74 206-208
2 70*200 80-84 206-208
3 80*200 90-94 206-208
4 90*200 100-104 206-208
5 60+60*200 134-140 206-208

If we consider the parameters of any sliding and swing door, each person provides the width that he will use every day. But the state standard offers door widths for kitchens of 70 cm, bathrooms - 60 cm and residential buildings - 80 cm. The market offers designs for bedrooms with a width of 90 cm, and for bathrooms - 55 cm.

Rice. 2. Characteristics of the canvas for indoors

It is worth mentioning double-leaf structures, which allow you to emphasize the status of any room. They mainly consist of the same type (60 cm each) or different canvases (60 and 80 cm wide). Of the narrower options, manufacturers offer designs with doors 40 and 80 or 40 and 40 centimeters wide.

The more common width of the canvas is 35 - 40 cm, but the figure can vary up or down (based on the material used and the type of product). For example, the thickness of a sliding door can be 2 cm, and wooden panels can reach up to 50 cm.

In terms of height, manufacturers offer products of 190 and 200 cm, but there are also European standards– 210 cm. To order, customers can purchase products of greater height (up to the ceiling or 2.3 m). Often designers adhere to foreign standards.

Rice. 3. Main characteristics of doors

Box dimensions

Available for sale ready-made options(with box and fittings). This is a U-shaped structure that is placed around the perimeter of the opening. The system allows you to securely fix the panel.

The total height and width of the panel with the box increases by 10-15 cm, but a gap should be left between the wall and the mounting tray, so the parameters of the panel should be less than the characteristics of the frame (to protect against abrasion). The thickness of the panel is compared with the size of the wall and box. Correctly installed doors will be comfortable, look organic in the room, and meet the applicable standards.

Based on the characteristics of the panel, for interior structures the standard dimensions of an interior door frame may vary. Therefore, it is advisable to purchase designs together with cash, frame and fittings.

To make the box, bars of different parameters are used. The width of the material can reach 1.5-4.0 cm, but optimal indicator equal to 3.0-3.5 cm. If the standards are observed, it turns out reliable design, which serves long time.

Rice. 4. Door frame dimensions

The thickness of the box and the wall must match, but this indicator should not exceed the width of the opening. For wooden walls the criterion is 10 cm, and for brick - 7.5 cm. Therefore, a box whose dimensions exceed the parameters of the wall cannot be firmly fixed. Otherwise, you can use special additions.

At manual assembly The parameters of the vertical posts must be determined in accordance with the height of the panel, the thickness of the horizontal strip, the size of the gap and the threshold. The parameters of the horizontal strip are calculated based on the width of the door.

Opening sizes

When creating partitions and walls, you can determine the width of the opening according to the standard, which indicates the parameters of products with a frame and fittings. In this case, the width of the panel is combined with a double frame indicator and a double-sided gap. As a rule, it is equal to 1.5 cm. For example, 90.0+3.0*2+1.5*2=99.0 cm.

The height of the opening is also calculated: without a threshold it will be equal to 200 + 3 + 1.5 + 0.5 = 205 (0.5 is the distance between the panel and the floor for air exchange, it can increase up to 1 cm, and for a house with liquefied gas - up to 1.5-2 cm). If there is a threshold, the height of the opening is determined by adding the size of the opening and the parameters of the canvas, the width of the installation seam and the frame.

Rice. 5. Measuring openings

The thicker the canvas, the better?

Thick canvases well emphasize the design of a living room made in Baroque, Renaissance or Empire style, and sliding partitions and thin screens will complement the openings of dressing rooms and storage rooms. As the thickness of the door increases, its weight increases, which increases the requirements for hanging fittings. It may be necessary to install additional hinges, which will increase the cost of the structure. Therefore, the canvas should be selected according to its massiveness and other characteristics according to expediency and optimality.

There are many products on the market with sash thicknesses of 30-40 cm. But the range includes thinner ones sliding partitions from MDF (about 2 cm). Recently, structures made of tempered glass with a thickness of 8 mm or more have become popular.

Single and double doors

Double swing doors with two leaves will look effective in the design. The width of the products depends on the model and parameters of the living room passage. Parameters for such doors are sometimes accepted with an increase of 1.5-2.

Standard dimensions for double systems with a box are 120-150 cm. This allows you to install full-fledged double-leaf structures. The width of double doors is 1-1.4 m.

With minimal dimensions double doors can be offered with one stationary leaf with a width of ½ or 1/3 of the standard width (for example, one-and-a-half options). The other part of the canvas will be complete. With the optimal opening width, identical sashes are installed, which increases the aesthetics and accessibility of people.

Doors with hidden frame

Compared to standard designs, doors with an internal frame have great advantages.

Fig.6. Scheme of a door with a hidden frame

The dimensions of the opening must comply with the standards of the door system manufacturer: vertically there must be flat wall, a deviation of 1 mm is allowed in height, and the thickness of the walls should not be more than 8 cm. The ideal gap width is 1.7-2 cm ±1 cm (the gap at the bottom of the sheet 4 is considered optimal).

Doors to order

Factories offer a wide range of interior doors with frames and fittings, including non-standard options. But there are cases where manufactured products do not correspond to the existing opening. In this case, you can adjust it by increasing or decreasing the height and width to the required level. An alternative solution is to order a structure with non-standard dimensions.

The cost of making custom doors will be higher compared to purchasing them. finished products. But this will allow you to realize interesting ideas. For example, you can install compartment doors.

How to measure an opening

If the door has a threshold, the length of the opening can be calculated by summing the height of the threshold with the parameters of the panel, frame and mounting seam.

Rice. 7. Measuring the width of the opening Fig.8. Determination of indicators with and without a threshold

According to the standards, it is not difficult to find out the width of the panel. For a 90-centimeter opening, a canvas 80 cm wide is suitable. This can be calculated as follows: 90-15*2-30*2= 81 cm, and the extra centimeters will be masked by the platbands.

When determining the dimensions, it is better to take into account the gap that will remain between the panel and the box. But this figure is 1-2 millimeters, so when making approximate calculations it can be ignored.
